7381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bakkt has traded only 7 BTC so far on: September 25, 2019, 07:09:13 PM
Bakkt is not the only platform to get your BTCs at so it's possible that people are still on their regular exchanges doing their regular thing. And it's only a few hours on Bakkt's opening so it makes sense that the data isn't that high yet. I agree that the results are somewhat underwhelming given the hype it has received for the past year, but we'll never know what it brings within the next coming days. The hype generated + the results we're seeing right now doesn't match our expectations so far, and that's something.
7382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Supply is meeting demand. The number of Bitcoin ATMs worldwide is up over 500% on: September 25, 2019, 06:37:02 PM
The statistics for the number of bitcoin ATMs created within the last year does not necessarily mean that people are using it directly. With how enormous the fees can be on these little wankers, one can easily avoid it and go through all the required processes of KYC in order to get a better deal. I came across those things when I'm still in Canada, none of the people there seemed to bother using it nor checking it out. Traders are still going to the traditional cryptocurrency exchange platforms to trade their bitcoin and fiat, and not through a machine that asks for exorbitant fees that could easily be avoided.

If you can show the statistics for bitcoin ATMs servicing people in the past year, that would be nice.
7384  Economy / Gambling / Re: This might be a different approach to gambling on: September 25, 2019, 05:22:05 PM
I might be wrong but is this some form of a test-only gambling platform which people can try out provably-fair systems before getting out on the real gambling sites? Because if it is not, then you are asking for bankruptcy at all (well you must be rich guys to begin with since you have answered that you don't do this for the profit). Zero-percent house-edge is not yet seen on this industry, and the most common is 0.1% and that's the lowest I've seen. Just checked out the site and perhaps some design tweaks would help.
7385  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Digital asset act of 2019] umuusad na sa Senado on: September 24, 2019, 04:47:24 PM
IMO, CEZA can get its hands off dito sa nilulutong panukala ng mga mambabatas tungkol sa digital assets at cryptocurrencies.

7386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin and casinos on: September 24, 2019, 04:12:40 PM
It could happen, though it will take a long while before traditional gambling houses and casinos incorporate bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies within their services. Should they go with this, it would take a lot of change in their license and everything else to conform with the local laws and regulations concerning gambling places and cryptocurrencies. Until most of the countries established a working law/regulation with cryptocurrencies, gambling establishments won't dare touch it even with a ten-feet pole.
7387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Athletics crypto betting on: September 24, 2019, 03:26:28 PM
Do you know which site supports the athletics?

Unfortunately, I don't. I haven't come across any official bookie that supports these kinds of events.

How to bet on this sport after all? What strategies are the best? Does it make sense to bet on the events with dozens of participants?

It's hard to keep track of one individual given how obscure these names might be, and every year, most of the names included in the games are changing. It's a highly-volatile event with little consistency on player participations so no, I don't think this is a good event to risk some money on.

Is it by and large popular on any of the markets?

If I'm not mistaken, most of the platforms don't have IAAF World Championship in its offer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

No and no. Perhaps on viewership it is popular, but given the lack of interest on the betting side of things, there's little to no markets/bookies offering it for bets.
7388  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [DISCUSSION] Posting Interval at Burst Posting on: September 24, 2019, 03:03:36 PM
7389  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betmatch.io on: September 23, 2019, 03:04:07 PM
Could betmatch.io be a scam?
Website is full of bugs, and I have unsettled bets more than 24h.
They say it can take up to 48h...wtf?!

Perhaps they just don't have enough traffic to cover up for the wins that you got. The site and service itself seem to be on the wild west of bookies. Never heard of it, nor even some review aggregators on the web. Might as well avoid it and move on.

Also, what made you bet on a low-traffic, relatively unknown gambling platform anyway?
7390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will There Comes A Time That All Online Gambling Sites Are CryptoCurrency Based? on: September 20, 2019, 08:12:54 PM
A huge possibility, I say, given the fluidity of cryptocurrencies and much easier access to it rhan bank transfers and whatnot. Also, some banks are prohibiting users from sending their own money into such kinds of services, which plainly sucks because you can't use your own money into spending it wherever you want. In cryptocurrencies, the user has the liberty to spend it everywhere, anywhere, provided that the merchant is accepting it in their establishment. Slowly, traditional online bookies are creeping into the ecosystem seeing how much market/money there is to be made here.
7391  Other / Meta / Re: creating a new section: Mini PC on: September 20, 2019, 07:40:49 PM
This discussion would be more fitting on other tech-forums IMO, or it can snug itself in the Technical sub-forums. Or, it can also seek its place within the Mining section--though it's not exclusively mining-related but it's a core component of the said process. 5-6 pages of the said topic, most of which are from years ago, IMO isn't enough demand to create a new board of its own. It's a fun stuff to discuss about, and I do have my own sets of Dell Optiplex and other compact PCs (mini-ITX builds) since they save space in the office and inside my house, but yeah, this is more of a bitcoin-centric forum revolving around things on bitcoin and not form-factor of nodes and other gears.
7392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World’s first offline system for transacting cryptocurrencies! on: September 20, 2019, 06:42:17 PM
I am thinking along the lines of telemetry software system for this "unidirectional" transfer system that they are trying to advertise or convey to the public. I'm a fan of such, if we're still in the 1960s-1970s but right now, that's just too slow in today's standards. But if this was embedded in an offline wallet, it could work knowing that there are only a few bytes of data included in sending and receiving transaction data. I'm somewhat confused along the lines of "hot wallet functionalities." If the system is capable of doing such, I'm assuming that they achieved offline transmissions on a long-range at high speeds, but I doubt it--or perhaps I'm getting rusty on my tech knowledge.
7393  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance legally registered at U.S, does Bitcoin will get increase? on: September 20, 2019, 05:53:31 PM
I don't think there'd be any difference at all knowing that Binance only got their license and they were forced to move from the US temporarily because they don't have the necessary license to operate in the American soil. Also, Binance is more on the altcoin side of things and not really bitcoin, although they also have bitcoin but not really that much substantial on the market compared to the big names in exchanges.

The US never banned crypto, too, and it will be too far-fetched for it to happen knowing that they are already benefiting from the cryptosphere and industries built around it.
7394  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin Block Halving on: September 20, 2019, 05:24:43 PM

7395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] KSI vs Logan Paul 2 on: September 20, 2019, 05:00:33 PM
I would take KSI any day, knowing how hard he made Logan Paul work on the first fight that they had. Also, Logan is more of a prick and not really a fighter at all. He's doing it for the clout as the young ones call it on vines and whatnot. But on a serious note, I would not spend a single penny or bet on any one of these vloggers turned boxers (obviously for the money and the followers) at all. The last one was not even a fight IMO, just pure running and two idiots throwing weak punches at each other without an intention to hurt the other one badly.
7396  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How much do you think Bitcoin.com is worth, what price would Roger sell? on: September 20, 2019, 04:15:11 PM
Apart from the traffic the site is having on a regular basis, I think the main selling point of the domain and where most of the value lies is on the fact that the one who has it controls a significant amount of followers--especially the new ones--because they can easily post whatever the hell they like on that website and people would believe it without second thoughts. Also knowing Roger Ver, the dude is egotistic at best, and would not sell his only prized possession currently.. not that his forked coin isn't worth something..
7397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many gambling sites are you playing and do you use the same strategy on: September 20, 2019, 07:52:44 AM
I'm playing in two currently, namely Mintdice and Bitsler and I enjoy the dice games. I don't really have a set strategy when playing on these plarforms but I do know when I would stop, especially when I lost a huge amount on my initial bankroll. There are times that I go crazy and go all in for one time and so far, I haven't lost on my all-ins. Tried martingale, bt that doesn't bring me any luck though.
7398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5Dimes founder found dead in Costa Rica a year after abduction on: September 19, 2019, 04:54:06 PM
One of the many reasons why privacy is still a very important aspect nowadays in this world full of famewhores and wannabes. Who knows what the guy endured for a year before getting killed, and even with the ransom paid in full, they still killed him. It's really hard to make a footing in the crypto world and establish your business. Getting known publicly is a double-edged sword, and Creighton definitely suffered at the sharper end of it.

--

This is not entirely gambling-related but rather a concern worthy of being discussed in the Bitcoin Discussiom boards.
7399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 8 Ball Pool game against live players worldwide - is gambling available? on: September 19, 2019, 04:21:12 PM
This would be a good fun game tbh, although it's hard to actually know if someone else on the other side is cheating or not--but of course that could easily be prevented if there would be a service/platform that would overseer the said games/activity. Shame that only a few people are interested into buying the in-game coins for cosmetics, tournament entries and whatnot. That could have been a nice experience, too, if the market is really big and there are a lot of interested users playing the game.

Perhaps established gambling services here in this forum would heed our call. Roll Eyes
7400  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Summary of cash in/out limits of BSP approved crypto exchanges on: September 19, 2019, 03:57:08 PM
Been a customer of coins.ph since 2014. Naka-custom limit din ako sa kanila when it comes to deposit and cash-outs.
