741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin for venezuela on: March 12, 2018, 10:26:00 PM
Don't think they will use bitcoin for everyday purposes because the transaction fees are too high. However, the petro might be a more attractive alternative as it is backed by their government. Holding bitcoin will be good for their future though, who knows what kind of value the petro will have by the end of the year. I'm sure bitcoin will be high though!
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sri lankan government ban bitcoin in the future ?? on: March 12, 2018, 10:23:00 PM
They are worried because their economy is poor and when crypto enters their country people will prefer to trade in bitcoin than Sri Lankan money. Who will pay tax? government will become even poorer and it will turn into chaos. They are smart to ban it, but it won't be effective - they can just use privacy coins instead.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin just a brand? on: March 12, 2018, 10:18:50 PM
I would say yes to that. Other coins are far superior in terms of what they can offer. Ethereum and NEO are far more practical, and other coins like WAGERR can do anonymous betting on sports events. Bitcoin however is known worldwide by the general public and that kind of reach cannot be said for any other coin.
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billionaires buying Bitcoin on: March 12, 2018, 10:13:07 PM
This is good and bad. These investors are clearly whales that are going to cause even wilder swings in the value of this coin. When one whale decides to take a dump, so will the other whales. If you can follow the pattern and swim with them then big profits can be made, but you need a lot of time to keep up with the trends
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you deal with friends/family when they lose their investment? on: March 12, 2018, 10:08:38 PM
If that happened to me I would feel like crap! Better not to advise people to invest in bitcoin unless they know the risks and understand at least vaguely what the technology is about. Saying it's just a digital form of money is not really enough to explain the ups and downs in price. They will be happy again later this year when it goes back up again
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 5 coins under 10$ that can reach 300$ in future on: March 11, 2018, 12:17:36 PM
The OP is correct about LISK. Big things are happening this year as their product will finally become usable to create DAPPS and ICOs on their blockchain. Others are still in the early stages and will be too late to join the party. LISK is already there, based in Germany, lots of funds for development, I think this will be the new ethereum
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know project scam or not? on: March 11, 2018, 10:57:41 AM
For a super safe project you can see if the CEO or developer has done an interview on youtube therefore minimising the risk A public figure will ensure that the project will not suffer from an exit scam as he or she is there for everyone to see. Here is an example of a good project worth investing in (just a few cents right now!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcJGdSP8oN0   https://yobit.net/en/trade/TLX/BTC
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any extremely low market cap privacy coins? on: March 10, 2018, 08:46:55 AM
The market cap of this coin is so low that it isn't even listed yet! It is still a penny coin but with lots of potential. It powers an AI trading chatbot on telegram so it is backed by a real world application. Just released into Yobit a few weeks, get TELEX AI which is the TLX token. Company registered in the UK and only 20m total supply! https://yobit.net/en/trade/TLX/BTC
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Monero under 25 cents? What the hell _were_ you waiting for? on: March 10, 2018, 08:41:42 AM
The same will be said of XSPEC which isn't much more than 25 cents right now. It was also being fudded despite having better privacy technology than monero. One day, someone will make a thread like and there will be a lot of regret from the dumpsters
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Etherium downturn today: trend or just short speculation? on: March 09, 2018, 11:19:43 PM
Ethereum is suffering from slow performance and high fees. Unless they can fix this which is unlikely, developers will move to better blockchains. NEO is one they are switching too, and soon they will move to LISK when DAPPS on their sidechains will make them the new ethereum
751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best staking coins on: March 09, 2018, 06:43:42 PM
go with a solid masternode coin

WAGERR is a good masternode coin which is similar to dash. Alternatively, if you're looking at just staking then pick XSPEC or DEEPONION. Both are good privacy coins with a low market cap. Good for big gains in the next bull run!
752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin Vs Neo on: March 09, 2018, 06:22:43 PM
NEO is the better investment because it is releasing successful ICOs and projects are switching from ethereum to NEO. Also you can get GAS tokens just from holding NEO which is a very smart move. Litecoin is old and has been described as just a test platform for bitcoin
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is still better than BTH? on: March 08, 2018, 05:29:14 PM
What is BTH? If you mean bitcoincash then yes it will always be better. Not because of the technology, a lot of coins are better than bitcoin in that sense, even ethereum is better, but because it is the core coin that will be widely accepted by everyone in the future. Always stick to bitcoin, not the forks!
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy when market is Red on: March 08, 2018, 05:18:24 PM
Buying now is the wisest move, but investors are still worried that it will dump even further. Also some are thinking that this is a very long period of downwards prices so investing now is too risky. Investors would rather wait for further signs of recovery, but they'd be missing out on the initial rises
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now We Know Who Sold The Bottom At $6k And Tried To Crash Bitcoin on: March 08, 2018, 05:09:26 PM
If he decides to dump that many coins to crash the market he is not doing himself any favours, especially if he is holding a lot more bitcoins. It could actually be a good thing in the long run. It means wider distribution and at a lower price to introduce new blood into crypto
756  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC Will Be Destroyed By Itself on: March 07, 2018, 10:41:09 PM
A lot of them have been lost or intentionally burned. Also Satoshi has locked up at least 1 million bitcoins and they haven't moved at all. It will take a long time before the total supply is reached and after that the price will simply rocket
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Airlines accepting Bitcoin as payment & Other Retailers? on: March 07, 2018, 10:37:39 PM
Thanks for the big news mate! This is huge, means we can start travelling the world using our bitcoins! With Korean hotels accepting crypto it seems that they are starting to realise that bitcoins need to be spent and where else is better than on a holiday Grin
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KFC now accepts Bitcoin! on: March 07, 2018, 06:07:05 PM
It's the start of things to come. Burger king was accepting waves tokens (actually they created their own token) so KFC decided to jump in as well. Soon enough McDonalds will join and then the rest of the world!
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is created? on: March 07, 2018, 05:49:57 PM
Bitcoin was created to allow countries like north korea to bypass international laws and buy parts for nuclear weapons Grin Then came the side benefits of having a decentralised currency that bankers and governments could not control. Power to the people!
760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cobra-bitcoin compromised. Bitcoin.org is not safe bitcoin site anymore on: March 06, 2018, 10:31:30 PM
Sorry but I didn't know who is this Cobra-bitcoin in the Bitcoin scene or here in the forum as I only knew Theymos, Cyrus, hilariousandco and some other.
Is he really the owner of Bitcointalk.org? what's his username here though?

He is not referring to this forum website but the actual bitcoin website (this is the chat forum and is (or was) owned by satoshi, now administered by theymos). If c0bra is down then they need someone else to hold rights to the domain. Too many eggs in one basket otherwise
