He could have some narrative behind why he continue to attack bitcoin, nevertheless the effect is just temporary though. Maybe he secretly invested on bitcoin, or someone as a hedge fund manager acts for him to be a investor, we will never know.

Obviously, he has a ton of money already and maybe just playing around and see how it goes for him. For sure though that he knows that NuBank is crypto friendly, but then again, if we talk about profits, it doesn't matter to this billionaire as they will continue to invest which they think will be big someday, including a crypto friendly bank.
742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 18, 2023, 01:51:00 AM
I think majority of us here are already old enough to gamble and not even bother to tell our parents. But in any case I will be like in the teen's definitely I might have to hide it from my parents in the beginning.

Just like when I used to smoke, I started very young and then hide from my parents, until I was old enough already, (I have jobs and about to settle down).

And it could really depends on the situation, if your parents are gambling and so you are influence by it. So it might be hard to hid it from them and on the other hand you might strike a conversation about your gambling and if you win or lose.
743  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Fake Binance Word of the Day (WOTD) on: October 18, 2023, 01:13:33 AM
TravelMug

How  did  you  come across this phishing site?

Im curious to know how its being spread, through emails/twitter/telegram or any other channel etc

As that might also help to stay more vigilant on such channels
Not him but I'll give an answer. Usually, you can come across these phishing links if you simply search them through Google. Google is known for not filtering these scam and phishing websites and that's why if you just search for some keywords that they're using for their SEO, they're going to appear in the first result.
I've come across with many of these from search engines and as well as in social medias and that's why they will never stop no matter how we keep up and monitor these. The problem is the platform itself is allowing these to exist because they are getting paid and that's the thing for them and not for the welfare of many of their users that can be potentially a victim of these scams. Anyway, they have come across as well with a solution but we need to cooperate with them by reporting these scam/phishing links.

True, and that's why it is not advisable to really used Google as search engine for crypto related, like looking for exchanges, bitcoin mixer or even gambling platforms because this criminals can exploit Google ads and place their phishing sites on the very first page of Google.

And most likely it is spread to social media as what it was pointed out.

Or even is cases that this scammers are going to used text messages or sms to trick and scam anyone.
744  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 17, 2023, 03:36:30 AM
^^ Ok thanks for this news, I was actually looking as to what has caused the sudden spike of the price in the last 24 hours. So there's was supposedly a leak news but it was fake.

But in the positive side, the price has taken off to $28k already, but we should be very cautious as it might fall back to $26k. Or if investors doesn't mind the news then maybe we can still hold on to this price up until the end of the month, it will be good then for the market, even if there is some entity with clear manipulation from behind.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Magical Is The Magic Money ? - Bitcoin on: October 17, 2023, 01:22:58 AM
Lol, when I read the subject it reminds me of this wizard meme,

Yes, bitcoin gives us so much freedom right now, used as a payment method, remittances across border, form or investment, (HODL) and others that give us so much advantage over the traditional banks.

I just want to reiterate though that BYOB also entails responsibility, you need to know how to protect your bitcoin from hackers and any other cyber criminals.

747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC does not plan to appeal court decision on Grayscale bitcoin ETF on: October 15, 2023, 01:14:33 AM
This is a significant development which may signal an impending approval for a spot Bitcoin ETF. The SEC has delayed approval as long as they could but with this hurdle out of the way they don't have many options remaining. This will be positive for Bitcoin but I also expect regulators to shift their focus more towards exchanges and altcoins. If they were to take severe action against an exchange like Binance it could suppress a potential bull run following an ETF approval.

Indeed, it's just a matter of time really that a spot Bitcoin ETF is going to be approved and hopefully it will be sooner. And I think with big names in the financial market at it, there could be pressures from this regulatory commission to give their aproval.

And we have been talking that a potential approval could mean a influx of money in the market, hence it will coincidence with the bull run for next year.
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 15, 2023, 12:38:14 AM
Lol, Dillon didn't even attempt to win, and then he try to choke Logan Paul as he was clearly beaten. It's obvious that he didn't even train for this fight and just to get his paycheck.

KSI vs Tommy Fury fight as well was lackluster, Fury with a majority decision.

And just like what we have been saying, this guys are just for the entertainment and big paycheck and nothing more.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs Ethereum VM to reach its full potential — Web3 exec on: October 14, 2023, 03:40:09 AM
Bitcoin is doing great in it's category — it definitely doesn't have to do everything. You want blockchain-ized RWA? Do it on other chains. Bitcoin's job is to just be simple(send and receive BTC) and just be secure and decentralized as hell, without any unnecessary bloat.

I do agree, Bitcoin is doing good as it is, no need to connect to Ethereum Virtual Machine or any other software or smart contracts. It is design by Satoshi already to be almost perfect. And we are on the brink of another bull run next year, so regardless, money is going to flow in the ecosystem for that matter.

I guess someone has it's own motive behind to push this kind of narrative. But I guess Bitcoin is not going to bite. Of course there could be development in the background but I doubt that the devs are going to look at EVM.
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoin censorship on: October 14, 2023, 02:03:37 AM
I'm not really sure why they banned those address, however, I'm thinking that it could be link so darkweb or hacks or anything that harm anyone or crypto in general that's why they got it banned.

However, if you think that you are not doing anything wrong and you have a clean address then on my side, you don't need to be concern about stablecoin censorship. Unless they are like doing a witch hunt or something and just ban any addresses they like or find that suit their banning criteria.
751  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitMEX founder projects $750,000 to $1 million #Bitcoin price by 2026 on: October 14, 2023, 01:38:31 AM
There is another prediction from Standard Chartered bank predicting a bitcoin price by the end of 2024 of $120,000.
Source: https://twitter.com/BTC_Archive/status/1712771899934064695

This definitely makes sense with their prediction compared to others above $500K, only we still don't know what it will be at that time? Now there has been a lot of speculation coming into the media about the bitcoin price after the halving. In the following year, so many may have predicted that the end of 2024 will be the highest peak again.

Looking at the Bitcoin price history and year cycle history, the prediction still does not make sense.  The suppose to be Bitcoin breaking of the ATH price should happen in 2025 not before it.  Although it is the nearest to reality in reference to the year when the prediction might happen, I think it is still way out of the market movement mark.  Unless several spot ETF applications are approved by SEC, I don't find any reason why the market will break ATH in the  year 2024.

Let's say everything is possible in crypto, we never thought in 2017 that we will reach almost $20k right? So we can put this speculation on the and see how it goes in 2026. Although we know that the most likely bull run will occur 2024-2025, and after that it will be bear market again.

Unless the cycle breaks, we have 2 bull run cycles and we never see any bear market.

But that's unlikely to happen as the everything starts in halving, happening every 4 years.
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 14, 2023, 01:01:14 AM
We will see, I think the Nuggets, the Bucks and the Lakers have a good chance to win the title.

The Lakers can only hope for any success if LeBron performs as well as he has in the past and Davis stays healthy during the regular season and playoffs. By the way, some news sites say that this season will probably be LeBron's last chance to win a fifth title in his career because a lot of players on the current Lakers roster will become free agents next offseason.

I think they have mitigated the risk on Davis by getting a young and legitimate center in Jaxson Hayes and he shines with Lebron during pre season game. And I think it's a good move by Rob Pelinka to get Hayes to be their center.

As far as Lebron, yeah, he has some injuries throughout his career, but nothing defining that really cause him to slow down. He can still dunk the ball hard as he used to. So I see him as still a legit contender and can bring another ring for the Lakers this season.

754  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull Run on: October 13, 2023, 03:23:48 AM
I think if you are really here for the long haul, then the best advise is to just accumulate as much as you can. Specially when we had like the lowest low for this bullrun at $15,500, if you were able to buy a lot of bitcoin that time and just hold and continue to save, then you are ready for the bull run next year or the next coming years, as speculators are expecting it to be 2024 and then hit it's peak at 2025.

And we still have like 5 months to go for the block halving, so plenty of time to do DCA and again, buy when the price is still very cheap and at a discount price.
755  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Fake Arbitrum Foundation Website on: October 13, 2023, 02:43:16 AM
Website:
Code:
arbihrum[.]foundation

Official Site: (https://arbitrum.foundation/) and (https://arbitrum.io/)

So I urge everyone to report it.
The phishing domain name is "Arbihrum" instead of "Arbitrum," and this is further evidence that the scammer behind it has a lisp and difficulty with the letter "T" Grin

Yes, that's already a giveaway that this is really fake, however, as smart as this criminals are, they might think that no one will notice it if ever someone will accidentally go and visit their website and thinks it's the real one.

Scammers try as much as possible to make the domain name close to the name of the official project domain they are targeting or identical to its template script, then they put their stupid artistic touch on it, which is a wallet connection button.

The reports and complaints we will send about this domain will be useful actions to protect potential victims, who will be targeted through Arbitrum communities.

Yes, and most likely they are scanning domain names that are very close to any crypto project, buy them and then starts their scamming. I already reported it and hopefully they will be removed. And again, good catch by the OP.

757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 13, 2023, 01:46:55 AM

Really surprised that book landed #1 over those other people.  Some people can land in other categories like Luka and steph over in pg spot, Tatum as a sf.  But if they are all lined up together under the sg spot I think I'm taking 4 or 5 guys before I take book.

For me Booker is one of the most overrated players in the league actually.
Seeing him on top of all these players seems a little off. Also looking at the roster now, playing with KD and Beal, this will mean less shots for him as well.

Anyway, most of these lists made in the preseason are garbage anyway. Somebody has too much time creating this stuff so people can discuss about it.

In this case, it's another strange one.

I’m not a big Booker fan either but he can definitely shoot. I don’t think he’a a top tier player but I think he’ll be leading the Suns this year. KD might be the best player but it’s Booker’s team they all came to play for so I think they’ll show him the respect he deserves and let him lead the team in shots. I’m not a big fan though.

So nice to see Ben Simmons balling out in the preseason.

I would agree that he is one of the most overrated players, I mean yeah he can shoot but can he lead his team? He loves to trash talk but when it comes to playoff, he suddenly disappear and he can't back up everything what he says, just like in their series against the Dallas Mavericks.

So let's see if he can still be the alpha of Phoenix as obviously there is Durant and to some extent Bradley Beal.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yesterday marked 200 days to Bitcoin Halving on: October 12, 2023, 04:02:35 PM
Regardless though of what will be date as we really don't know exactly when it's going to fall, It's obvious by now that it will be +/- 200 days. And with that we still have some time to really accumulate before the bitcoin halving comes. And we all know that this is the catalyst for the next bull run.

And just like previous pre-halving, we are given enough time to save and buy BTC as they are still very cheap and discounted.

It's probably a reminder to us from the OP, we all know that time flies so fast, and we have to take advantage of it.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 12, 2023, 01:27:04 AM
Don't forget Madrid vs Dallas, really close game and Madrid with the nice win.
Without Luka and Kyrie of course it's not an easy take for the Mavs, but glad the people in Madrid were able to see a close game with their home team ending up winning.
Oh yeah, I missed that game. Nice win for Madrid. And I am glad to see Rudy Fernandez still playing at 38 years old.  Cheesy
Lol, what a start for Dillon Brooks as a Rockets,

Quote
On Tuesday, the Rockets opened their preseason schedule against the Indiana Pacers. Brooks started the game at small forward, but exactly four minutes and 33 seconds into the game, he was whistled for a foul after hitting Pacers big man Daniel Theis in the midsection. It was eventually ruled a flagrant-2 foul, and Brooks was ejected fewer than five minutes into his Houston debut.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/dillon-brooks-gets-ejected-five-minutes-into-his-rockets-debut-for-hit-on-daniel-theis/

I guess he won't change a bit regardless of what team he will be. I remember he did one to Lebron as well in the playoffs if I'm not mistaken. So his name has this kind of reputation already as a dirty player and it could be detrimental for the Rockets in the long run.
Ouch! Flagrant foul in preseason?
I just finished watching the replay of that part and it was obvious it was an unnecessary contact. He can get away from the screen but he still left his hand swinging at the man part of Theiss.
I was surprised though, at the Flagrant 2 that was given, flagrant 1 should be enough to teach him a lesson. It looks like the referee assigned knows his history and this will hurt Dillon Brooks' reputation. Next time he must be careful at every move he makes because the referee will definitely call the same thing even if it's not excessive.
Very bad impression on his debut and I bet there will be a fine for this act.

It's because Brooks has this reputation, this kind of cheap shots, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w3TJoakGtk.

So it's almost similar in fashion, and so the call is flagrant-2 as well so he was ejected.

For sure, the referee are looking closely on Brooks antics in this season as they wanted to established tougher penalties for any cheap foul.
760  Other / Meta / Re: bitcoin discussion board have lot of unecessary questions on: October 11, 2023, 02:41:12 AM
bitcoin discussion board have lot of unnecessary questions which is mostly not helpful to increase knowledge or learn something new.
most of them start thread about "my first bitcoin purchase" i convinced my dad to invest in bitcoin, "bitcoin is life", etc. which is mostly a waste of time for good posters.
most users post low quality replies to get post count for signature campaign, and the other users start threads like these because many members award them merits, show my request is stop replying to them if it's not an important discussion.

Well you can report them if you want, if you feel that they are not in the appropriate Bitcoin discussion board.

However, with the influx of new users, there will be a lot of similar open threads asking the say question or what has bitcoin did to them. But I doubt that the moderator will do something about it unless you make a report.
