741  Economy / Speculation / Re: RIP Bull Market on: February 24, 2019, 08:26:45 PM
The Bull Market simply lost its zeal to run and decided to go back to snoring/sleeping. Don't declare obituary for the market yet. We have been in this situation for a while now. I wasn't surprised. The slight pump and dump is just a sign that the market is still alive and surely there is hope for possible bullrun soon.
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Cryptocurrency One Big Ponzi Scheme? on: February 24, 2019, 08:13:31 PM
The thought sprung out from a mind that never take his time to understand the fundamentals of cryptocurrency and tends to judge from a different point of view. No, cryptocurrency is nothing close to a Ponzi scheme. It is not like there is one admin taking in the money and then using it to pay other people. This is a free market, people buy and sell digital currencies, decentralized in nature with no central government in charge.
743  Economy / Economics / Re: All times are good to enter crypto - Tim Draper on: February 24, 2019, 08:01:27 PM
"All times are good to enter crypto." Say that to someone who ignorantly bought at ATH and you might not like his response. The statement best applies to this never ending bear market with the plan to hold for long.
744  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will not go above $4,000 on: February 24, 2019, 07:29:40 PM
And so btc is down again at 3850$, after reaching 4200$ for almost a week ,it goes down in just seconds. Thats the risk when buying  coins and why some are afraid to buy bitcoin even the price is low.
Exactly! When one thinks or speculates that bitcoin price will not go above $4000 and after few days it did surpassed the price but only to dump heavily back to below $4k in a matter of seconds. This is actually the risk in crypto.
745  Economy / Economics / Re: Opinions about the emergence of new Coins on: February 23, 2019, 12:14:56 PM
Emergence of new coins or tokens gives wide range of investment opportunities to choose from. Compare to if it were to be bitcoin alone. These coins also give more relevant to bitcoin because they are still being traded against BTC. Traders can also buy these new coins cheap and sell big later. They can be more profitable compared to bitcoin.
746  Economy / Economics / Re: How to prevent fraud? on: February 23, 2019, 11:56:32 AM
The situation is really complex than it seems.I have realised that sometimes it is still not easy to identify  scam projects after doing your own background research. Fraudsters are becoming more intelligent and meticulous in their dealings lately. Interestingly enough you may assume that a project is a scam meanwhile it is genuine in reality.
This is exactly the situation on ground. Fraudsters are becoming wiser and smarter in their craftiness and in most cases, excellent work is put together to defraud people. In that right under one's watch and with diligent research, the scam will still be carried out successfully.
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Somebody paid $310,000 in transaction fee to send 0.1eth on: February 23, 2019, 11:42:14 AM
Many speculations on what might transpire. Meanwhile as I read few days ago that a cryptocurrency mining pool has frozen the fee and now in the custody of the huge ETH waiting for the sender to reach out on how to go about it.
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto A Way To become Rich / Millionaire ? on: February 23, 2019, 11:26:56 AM
Many of us came in with the get rich quick mindset of which it prevents quite a number of us from understanding the basics and fundamentals of bitcoin. The idea I believe is to solve financial problems, and beyond that lies many opportunities by which both young and old are making cool money from it.
749  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you lose your confidence as an investor? on: February 23, 2019, 11:13:48 AM
As a whole, being an investor and a bounty hunter, my confidence in crypto is intact, solid and strong. However, I can't say when it comes to some altcoins in my long term wallet as the current market has rendered most of them dormant or temporary dead.
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dead coins... on: February 21, 2019, 07:03:07 PM
My second question, why does CMC still list these coins!?!?!?
I think as long as the coin still appears on an exchange or CMC continues to receive info of such coin from the exchange, it will be insignificant to delist it. Delisting from CMC I want to believe happens when no data is found about the particular coin or maybe we ask CMC for their reasons.
751  Economy / Economics / Re: is it possible that the bitcoin was created by governments? on: February 21, 2019, 06:30:18 PM
According to conspiracy theory, Is it possible that the bitcoin was created by governments to gain financial strength in the modern world

Why would the Governments conspire to create a tool that is solely meant to be used against everything the Government stands for ?
The decentralisation nature, privacy feature and control in the hand of the people? The conspiracy theory just didn't add up.
752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether or altcoins? on: February 21, 2019, 06:07:27 PM
Hey guys what do you think? Is it better to hold ether or altcoins? I think alts are better because they can give you more profit, however it is quiet risky to hold them.

For me its better to hold ethereum than holding altcoins because ethereum is more safe to hold than other altcoins but its depends on the kinds of altcoin you have.
Ethereum has proven itself to be the one altcoin and highly secure 'investment-wise'. However, for the sake of portfolio diversification, other credible altcoins out there can still be banked on.
753  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Institutions secretly HODL Bitcoin? on: February 21, 2019, 05:57:41 PM
Buying in without any major market movement will have one believe they are not involved. However, these Institutions have their stakes in bitcoin already. No one will come out open and say they are in just to keep on the price below and accumulate more.
754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A question to all ICO investors. on: February 21, 2019, 05:37:49 PM
What are the biggest sources, channels (YouTube channels/influencers, Twitter accounts/influencers etc, ICO rating websites) online that you use to find out in which ICO to invest in?
Seeing how things played out last year with ICOs, you don't bank your decision making on the groups you mentioned, influencers especially. They all failed/misled many investors.
More safe: Read and diligently analyse the whitepaper, if it is realistic. Research the project team and check for any red flag. And then follow your instinct.
755  Economy / Economics / Re: The Factors of Demand and supply on: February 10, 2019, 10:01:27 PM
When I was in college we were taught that the price of any commodity is determined by the factors of demand and Supply to a large extent.
In your understanding, do you think that the price of bitcoin is determined by the factors of demand and supply?

Personally yes, I believe the crypto market is determined by demand and supply, although I think it's also sometimes manipulated by big whales.

Even for big whales to manipulate the market, they will still have to deal with the demand and supply factor for a successful manipulation to take place.
756  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if the bull run refuses to come again? on: February 10, 2019, 08:37:02 PM
I thought, what if the bull refuses to run?
Then we have an oddly stable market that we all have been craving for. I think a market without a bullrun or bear is not really a market. All these bearish experiences make profits worthwhile. Mind you, the recent surge to $3700 and still maintaining a price above $3600 should say a lot about possible bullrun. One can't just predict when exactly the real run starts.
757  Economy / Economics / Re: The Factors of Demand and supply on: February 10, 2019, 08:19:21 PM
In anything buying and selling, the factor: demand and supply always play crucial role in determining the price of a commodity especially in a free market like cryptocurrency market. As far as bitcoin is concern, its price is influenced greatly by the supply in circulation and of course how people demand for it.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have a reason to stay? on: February 08, 2019, 09:04:45 PM
You and I have witnessed a bull run and heard about the numerous potentials of crypto so why do we still have to feel reluctant to invest in bitcoin.
We already invested but ignorantly at the peak of bitcoin and got trapped in the hodling zone hoping for a bullrun which is never in sight. In addition, larger percentage of us is not willing to wait for long before gaining. Patience is no more virtue for some fellow. Also, I think people are probably on the sideline or sitting on the fence priming to jump in as soon as the bull begins running.
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: should I start buying ICOs again on: February 08, 2019, 08:33:53 PM
Buying ICO coins for now I feel is very wise. But you also need to be more selective in determining ICO. Because by looking at the market that is still falling, it certainly has risks. It's better to invest in the 5 best coins in CMC because it will be safer.
The idea of investing in the best 5 coins on CMC is still the best. No matter how juicy, promising an ICO project is, it's still hard to predict the market performance after listing which can be a high risk investment in this current wave.
760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: are ICOs really dead? on: February 08, 2019, 08:19:01 PM
ICOs are not really dead. They are just struggling to stay alive — Not to say some are not dead. The market is not favourable for everyone and it is worst for ICO projects. Despite the fact that some projects are innovative and amazing, worth investing in, they are finding it hard to attract investors. Let's be optimistic things change for better ASAP.
