saltybrains, sadly, there will be nothing one can do. And trust me, if this happened, dev has nothing to do with it. network is secured by 500mhash. And dev cannot undo a transaction no matter what.

aarrrgh i dont understand what is going on, thousands of coins are missing and there is no transaction showing what happened Sad

maybe someone here infinitely smarter than me can think up what this could be ? im stumped.

1. compiled the wallet on monday 27th
2. mined 7000 kh/s @ minebig for days
3. got about 6,000 CASH after a few days, in our wallet. confirmed, confirmations, everything happy.
: these were sent to our wallet as they were mined, so every hour it was climbing... for days.
(edit) 3.5:opened an openex account and sent 100cash just as a test, it arrived in openex and i withdrew it back to my wallet and it came back. success or so i thought.
4. looked at balance yesterday (day after doing an in/out with openex) and it was suddenly under 600 !!
5. did a "cashd listtransactions" (shows last 10 only) and there is no outgoing transactions.
6. did a "cashd listtransactions 100000" (to show ALL transactions) and there is nothing being sent!
: so they are not stolen, or atleast in my understanding of 'stolen'.
7. wrote a script to take the json from that and 'add it up' myself, and it only adds up to the 600 balance! wtf ... (with no negative numbers !)

how could the wallet have thousands in it, deposited over a period of days from minebig, then suddenly drop back to a lowly 600 for  no apparent reason ?

so i took a copy of the wallet.dat, recompiled from source (fresh download), resynced with the network, and still only 600.

really not understanding why/what/how ... weird weird weird.

does that mean i got 'forked' or is that just 'f..ked' lol Smiley

I mined on minebig for many days with 500 khash/s, and i got only 70 coins. I think you're mistaken.

how can i be mistaken ? iv seen the coins! lol.
i have 15 x 7970's going full bull, over the days i was pointing between 4,000 and 8,000 kh/s at cash.minebig depending on my mood (i like to mine multiple things at once). maybe difficulty has changed recently ? or however it worked out, it definitely paid me those coins! Sad why would i make that up. while i dont claim to know 'a lot' im definitely not a newbie, i have been mining for 3 months and have never had this happen to me ... its not like i could have misread the amount either because it was climbing by the hour for days!

can you give me your cashcoin address? so I can look at blockchain, to see how can your coins just disappear from wallet with leaving traces.

Sure! ... and thankyou!!

ah bummer! there is no blockchain explorer by address for this coin yet. I hope dev will look into setting up a better block explorer. The current one looks weird and old designed.
But about your problem, its unbelieveable for any coins to disappear from blockchain, and wallet like that.

749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [eToken] eToken is retaken. 100k Bank Blocked -> New wallet on: January 30, 2014, 10:42:55 AM
I can't read block chain either, but as I understand it, when you have 8000 in address A, and send 100 to address B, the wallet creates address C for you and sends the 100 to B and 7900 to C. Is that what you're seeing? It probably works like that because otherwise you'd have to traverse the whole block chain all the way to the beginning to find out how many coins are in an address.

This explorer is hard to read because he don't 'translate' the blockchain, and show it as it is.
For example, a stack of 500eTOK, on your address, will be recognized as '1' by the machine (1=500). If the 500 splits, they will be 2 x 1 (1=450 and 1=50). The soft cannot split into your wallet, so he send all, 1 to your destination, and 1 back to you. The soft have to 'break' the pack to divide it, this require a sign for the move, so a network confirm.

Basicly the blockchain don't know the amount in your address, but he have to find it with the transactions. As the blockchain is hardcored, you can't change an old transaction, so how know you have 50 etok less on your account ? By creating a new one. This happen only when a pack have to be break.

Trying a scheme to be clear:

 - You receive 500 from A, transaction 1 is created. Because of transaction 1, we know you have +500 in your wallet.
 - You send 50 to B. So the soft create transaction 2, address B have +50 now. But we don't know address A have -50 atm.
 - We can't overwrite the transaction 1 because it's hardcored. So we make transaction 3, resending you back the rest.

It's not exactly this, but it's an easy way to understand.

Your English looks as good as mogui's. Your english on old forum that you commented on looks way different. I have a feeling you're mogui. lol
anyways. I dont want to start a fight here. Just what I noticed.

Yeh i think the same. But i tought on other blockexplorers you just see your balance. And only what is going in or out to a wallet add. Well the bank will still be transparant. Just not easy to follow then.

if you look at blockchain.info. It happens to bitcoin as well. coins come from multiple addresses. its weird sometimes. lol, is that what you mean?

i'd like to know that too !

753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [eToken] eToken is retaken. New wallet -> mandatory update on: January 29, 2014, 08:11:47 PM
how come coinmarketcap.com shows a total of around 236k etoken where as the blockexplorer http://cryptexplorer.com/chain/eToken shows a total of 43k blocks mined and the reward is only 1 etoken per block? so i would expect coinmarketcap to show 43k etoken as the total supply!

so i have partially found the answer myself.
looking at the block chain it shows that 139k were generated at the very first block and the following blocks have a reward of 2. therefore the 236k seem to be right and the 43k block are correct, too.

the question right now is, where are those 139k now? it looks like a premined scamcoin!

are you guys for fucking real? You can't fucking read the thread that it says etoken is retaken. you cant go through old threads, but you just fucking shouted premined scamcoin?? old dev abandoned the project, community destroyed his bank of 139K coins. So youre sitting on a fork. not the actual coin that was released before.

wow, i think dev is secretly selling coins. I mean are you miners dumb enough to sell at this price? I sold 44 at 4600. bought back at 33. Now i have 67 smc from 44.

Not selling until price goes as soon as that asshole stops dumping. never panic sell, never

I will always panic sell if it makes me money, that is why I mine, trade and deal in crypto, to make money, who cares how you make it, just make it!!!

panic sell is usually on so low price that you're losing rather than gaining. lol. but if you're gaining, dont stop  Cool

Well since we can already rebuy now at a much lower price i think it was the best decision we could make.

Correct I agree, I guess "panic sell" is how you look at it, I felt like I was in a rushed panic to get my coins loaded and sold before the crash  Grin

i also sell in first hours because price is so high. then next few hours it crashes and i buy all back, and double my coins. lol

I give up guys... they are a few persons here who either have absolutely no clue of what they are talking about, either try to manipulate others.

My last advice is that everybody should use it's common sense: would you invest your money in something which is rare on the market, or in something which is so present that can cover multiple times the market in the hope that one day will become so rare and still interesting, that it's value will increase (which will never happen, not because this is not a good coin, but because today, tomorrow, etc. there will be newer and newer altcoins launched on the market)...

Everyone have fun, and listen to their inner voice... not to me, or not to the FUD which 2-3 persons are keep saying here (the same persons who were predicting 100-150 satoshi when LEAF will hit the market, gives now economy lessons to someone who is really good at it).

bought 228000 at 0.00000021. I hope it goes to 30 at least. once the reward halves.  Cool
