742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Ever Bitcoin Bank to be Opened in Switzerland? on: June 15, 2015, 11:21:37 AM
We don't like it when people keep there coins on an exchange but its ok to buy.  I don't see the difference in keeping your coins on a exchange for 2 minutes or 2 months.  Your still trusting them that you will get your coins.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Ever Bitcoin Bank to be Opened in Switzerland? on: June 15, 2015, 02:28:10 AM
Here we go again with people saying "we" don't need a bank like they represent the whole bitcoin community.
744  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you expect from the halving in 2016? on: June 14, 2015, 11:44:51 PM
Litecoin halving in 2 months and look what the price has done in the last few weeks.  That should give you an idea.
745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 14, 2015, 06:16:33 PM
You think whales buy the dumps?
746  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 14, 2015, 06:07:13 PM
Dumps are fine.  It redistributes wealth.
747  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 14, 2015, 04:36:43 PM
I'm going to start watching the DOW more closely.  It's due for a correction downwards and could start a btc rally.
748  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are we rising? (speculation) on: June 14, 2015, 04:34:05 PM
Dude its just a few bucks.  That's just normal market moving.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happenning to bitcoin? Why it's not growing while Litecoin does? I know. on: June 14, 2015, 01:23:34 PM
It's the halving.  A price increase will also affect bitcoin at its halving.
750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 13, 2015, 07:48:21 PM
Im a little nervous to buy till this 20mb block size issue is resolved.
751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn: In about 1-2 weeks, Bitcoin XT will include support for 20mb blocks on: June 12, 2015, 02:56:24 AM
I just switched to xt.  20mb block is needed.
752  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Winklevoss twins Talk Coverage (Need someone to cover the talk for us) on: June 12, 2015, 12:45:53 AM
He said it only takes one hedge fund to get involved for the price to pop.

Could you elaborate more please.

Not really.  That was a exact quote when talking about how small bitcoin is and the etf.

They said nothing that isn't already known.  Just a informative live chat for noobs.
756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is steady but many alts have had 2-5 fold gains in the past month... on: June 11, 2015, 03:35:46 PM
Lol anybody can become a whale with most alts and buy out the orderbook with just a few grand.  Price eventually crashes as early miners cashout and move on to the next coin.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core or XT? POLL on: June 11, 2015, 03:14:36 AM
Bitinfocharts says there's over 42k nodes.  That chart says there's 6k.   Huh
That is saying it has found 42k nodes total that ever existed and were at one point peering. The 6k is the number of nodes currently online and active.

Thanks.  Kind of alarming the number of nodes keeps dropping.

Not really, you only need to run a node if you are invested in keeping the protocol from changing otherwise you can just use an SPV wallet.

What is problematic is just a fiew Core developers like Luke-jr can force their will on us knowing full well transaction costs will go to their lighting network and sidechains.

I would say you're incorrect.  A network with only a few nodes would be susceptible to a cyber attack.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robbed of BTC at gunpoint -- a real concern? on: June 11, 2015, 03:12:56 AM
I think not carrying a phone full of bitcoin goes along the same common sense line of not carrying a wallet full of cash.  I don't see how this is a story.  People get mugged all the time
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core or XT? POLL on: June 11, 2015, 02:56:52 AM

What's wrong with a 4MB upgrade this year?

Classic move. Ask for 20 and accept 4.

It would be fine but I don't think they want to have to go through this mess again in a couple years.
