741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: January 13, 2015, 12:32:19 AM

The problem is that LTC is not ASIC resistant and barely any sort of improvement over BTC. The sharper people will continue to get out while the price steadily goes down. Leaving a bunch of true believing bag holders in the end. I ask though, what makes anyone think LTC will break away?

Bitshares has 10 second block confirms which blows away LTC.  The dilution they added has put them in a spot to continue improvement on their blockchain.

Maidsafe will be a new anti-censorship internet.

Ethereum will bring about smart contracts.

Do yourself a favor and divest from LTC into BitShares, MaidSafe, or Ethereum if possible.

true true.
742  Economy / Collectibles / Re: RARE f*D Physical Cryptos | Full set of 9 pieces | $500 only 3 left on: January 12, 2015, 08:40:00 PM
You actually made physical Worldcoin, Litecoin, and Namecoin pieces? Sorry to say,but those 3 altcoins that you chose are going nowhere(The others, Dogecoin and Peercoin are decent though still not worthwhile), have no development on them atm, so they're pretty much abandoned/useless.

If you change the altcoins that you're making physical coin pieces for, I might buy.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Got 100+ Bitcoins refunded from Butterfly Labs today on: January 10, 2015, 05:38:00 PM
My original orders with BFL date back to 2013 and I am just now getting refunded. It was a pretty terrible experience with them but I'm glad to finally get my money back.
Just wanted to show people that BFL has at the least sent me out my refund I am in no way endorsing them.

Note : I sent the coins from this address elsewhere so the in transaction is the money being sent to me in case anyone cares.

They sent it only because they have to, Butterfly Labs is in deep water atm with the Feds for malpractice, etc. Bascially, Butterly Labs is a scamming company, but because they have the money to repay you, they did(probably to try and look better in court).
744  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: January 10, 2015, 05:20:00 PM
Attempt at moral equivalency fails.  The entire Islam religion hates gays. ...

And the Bible says kill disobedient children with a stone, don't be gay, never eat shellfish or you are an abomination. Yes, religions are all nuts. Your not supposed to be gay in Islam either, but some people are gay. They always have been and always will be. Religion is about people trying to control other people.

The Bible things listed above are Old Testament things, written for the nation of Israel, only. Why for them? Because they asked God for it at the time that God gave them the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai.

Stop obeying the Old Testament laws as though they were meant for you, unless, of course, you adhere to them. Rather, obey the New Testament laws of love. Where the strict laws exist in the N.T., they exist as common sense guides. I mean, if you get a butcher's knife out of the drawer, and stab yourself in the arm with it, you will bleed. N.T. laws are laws of nature, that affect you, the nature around them.

Your personal religion is the way you live your life, the things you "religiously" do day in and day out. Everyone's religion is nuts in some ways for certain other people. It is true that, most of the time, in any relations between people, they are always trying to control others at least a little. It is our automatic religious nature.

That's where you fail mr BADecker. You cannot cherrypick the bible, or any other "holybook" for that matter. If you define yourself as Christian, then the entire bible is of importance to you, not just the new testament.

I agree, the old testament is 100% rubbish, but it being 100% rubbish proves that the entire bible is 100% rubbish. For such a "good" god to give such laws to the Israelites, is despicable. I read the new testament for it's emphasis on love, which I like. But I know the bible itself is false by nature.

And your failure is in thinking that it might be any other way than you said, for true Christians. No "cherrypicking" allowed.

The O.T. is NOT rubbish. That isn't what I said. It is what you said. The O.T. has many examples for righteous living that we ALL can use.

The major points of the O.T. are:
1. The promise of the Messiah, the Savior, Who came in the person of Jesus Christ of the N.T.;
2. Examples of good that happens to those who believe God, and evil that happens to those who don't believe Him (Note: A person acts according to what he believes.);
3. Prophesies of what is coming on the earth, that we can all take warning from.

You misunderstand. The Universe was made to be perfect. Mankind threw away the perfection in the Garden when they ate the fruit. Jesus maintained the perfection of the universe since He is God as well as man. The maintaining of that perfection includes keeping the perfection while at the same time perfectly giving people the imperfection that they so eagerly desire - like the imperfection that you show that you desire when you attempt to fight God rather than simply going along with Him and His plan of perfection. God's job is not an easy job. But God can do it, because He is God Almighty.

It isn't the Bible that is false by nature. It is you who are false by nature. If you weren't, you just might be able to see the greatness of God, shining through the wonders in nature and the Bible.

It seems you have not read the bible. Can you justify these laws and acts, commanded onto the Israelites & Moses by God?

1) God will kill any priest that leaves the tabernacle. Leviticus 10:7
2) If priests misbehave at the tabernacle by by drinking "wine or strong drink," then God will kill them and send his wrath on "all the people." "It shall be a statute for ever." Leviticus 10:9
3) God warns Aaron that he might have to burn him to death like he did his sons. Leviticus (10:1-2) 16:1-2
4) If you refuse to kill someone who gives his seed to Molech, God set his face against you and your family. Leviticus 20:4-5
5) Both parties in adultery shall be executed. Leviticus 20:10
6) If a man has sex with his father's wife, kill them both.Leviticus  20:11
7) If a man "lies" with his daughter-in-law, then both must be killed. Leviticus 20:12
Cool Anyone who blasphemes or curses shall be stoned to death by the entire community. Leviticus 24:16

Those 8 are just a few examples of the extreme and utter cruelty found in the Old Testament portion of the Bible. There is no justifying those acts commanded by "God", and so, the only reasonable answers as to why a "good god" would give such laws to his people is

1) He is not a good god, but a evil one.
2) He does not exist and it is all made up.

God made the earth and the universe. You have the freedom to use the Internet. You have food and water, and clothing and shelter. God is a good God for giving this all to you, or at least making it available.

All the strict laws that God gave through Moses in the First 5 books of the Bible, are laws of perfection. Perfection is life. Imperfection is an example of something that is not working correctly. Imperfection means death.

The Bible sites you listed above are not simply things listed according to your simple words preceding the sites. In context, they make some of the best laws for everyone to live by. To see this, all you need do is take a look at America, the poverty, the pain, the pollution, etc., all things that are happening because the people will not obey the laws. God didn't want this trouble for His favored people, ancient Israel. This is why He gave them the best laws.

The direct reason why God gave these good laws to the people was because they asked for them. Exodus 20:18,19
Quote
When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance and said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.”

The things and laws that God gave Moses are a pattern of the things in Heaven, before the throne of God - Hebrews 8:5,6:
Quote
They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.
What other nation is there that has been given things that are a pattern of things in Heaven?

So, why are you fighting against the good things of God in your heart? However, you have the freedom to do so if you so desire. But, if you continue to fight against the good things of God, you will only wind up destroying yourself. Don't be like the ancient people of Israel were so often - Hebrews 10:39:
Quote
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.

You have said absolutely nothing worthwhile concerning the horrid cruelty that "God" displays in the Bible. You've only given generic comments. I think it's safe to say that there is no refuting the evilness shown by your god in the Old Testament portion of the Bible.

Perfection is not life, people are born with diseases, deformities, etc every single day not to mention our very chromosomes themselves become defective through time. So if your god created life, then he has created imperfect life, which means he is not a perfect god, but a faulty one. Do you see how your own comments go against you BADecker?

If you took a simple history class BADecker, then you'd know that Christianity has been one of the cruelest, evil religions on earth. Ever heard of the crusades? Or the constant corruption within the church for hundreds of years? Only recently has Christianity, with the help of this pope and the few previous ones(Kudos to them), changed it's course and become something slightly decent.

I am an agnostic, I believe there is 50% chance that a "God(s)" can exist, and a 50% chance that it doesn't exist. However, the chance of a "God" existing, being the one from any religion we know currently is equal to that of any god existing from any other religion we know currently, so that lowers the chance of the Christian god existing for example and makes it equal to that of the Egyptian God and Godesses because they each take up a portion of that 50% share chance that god might exist. So, to put it simply, all gods and goddesses from any religion we know today has an equal chance of existing as the next gods and goddesses from the other religions, which makes the chance of any of them existing, extremely low.

Do you get that? It means logically, the chance of "God" not existing is far, far higher than the chance of any God/Goddess from any known religion existing.

And with this post I will no longer respond to you. It's clear that you are delusional as you have yet to give me logical answers on the own hatred and evil shown in your Bible, along with the contradictory comments you yourself gave on your "God"'s perfection.

btw not all video games are sexist
Ok, nice. What is your opinion on Anita Sarkeesian and her work? Have you seen her tropes vs women in video games or "women as background decoration"? This thread is about that. Not about the things you mention.

This isn't a thread about aviation pilots. It's about an individual called Anita Sarkeesian and her project Feminist Frequency who does videos about computer/video games.

Nobody here who knows what "on topic" means? Or as I guess too difficult a topic to answer, because lack of courage.

Do you know biology?

Do you know, that when men or even other women are given "pieces" of women to look at, such as just the breasts or buttocks, they tend the view the woman as a sexual object?

Did you know that? Did you also know that sexuality and arousal tests on women since the 1960's show that women are aroused by other women, regardless of their self-identifying sexual orientation?

Yea, so biology makes all your "feminist" points null and void, since not only men(straight men), but women themselves view other women as sexual objects.

Mr. Chu is CEO of clone coins or what ?

Pretty much assuredly NOT.

Mr. Ken Chu's wikipedia image is inaccurately published on the Global Coin Reserve web site as being that of Anthony Eufemio. There may be an explanation for this other than misrepresentation but potential investors should price the risk accordingly, being aware that instances of similar misrepresentation have been noted in ANNs by apparently unrelated others. In these other instances, once the mismatch was detected there was no further communication from the devs, thus rather confirming people's suspicions. This instance may be different, or it may not. I'm not one for trying to dictate people's actions but I do recommend that you at least price the risk accordingly.

Cheers

Graham

I brought it up on GCRs facebook page and eventually got answers.  They proved Anthony was real but later finally admitted that it obviously isnt his picture. Unprofessional yes, but it doesnt disprove anything GCR are about or what they're trying to do.

So, they use someone else pic, in an attempt to make their scam seem legit? Nice, 100% scammers. I'm sure every other pic there is also fake. That's not called be unprofessional, it's called being a scammer.

Anyone with half a brain would stay away from this global coin reserve scam

753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The next step in going against "conventional wisdom" - Create your own Crypto! on: January 02, 2015, 01:50:40 AM
I created a topic about "brainwallets" that some of you might have followed (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=885616.0) where I challenged the idea that "no-one can create a secure brainwallet".

I pointed out my own brainwallet address with 1 BTC (https://blockchain.info/address/1Au4v6dZacFVsWXeKUMJd99AtyBZeqti2L) and it still has that 1 BTC there (so those wanting to show that you can't create a good brainwallet are not doing a good job in that they seemingly are unable to sweep that 1 BTC and it has been there for a long time - and as I took out 9 BTC previously the public key is available also).

My next challenge to conventional thinking is with crypto itself. We are constantly told *don't roll your own crypto* and for sure just like *don't create a brainwallet* it is not something that *anyone can do* but I think that those who are smart enough to create a brainwallet should also be thinking about exercising their skills at creating crypto (if they keen to work out how to do so).

Why?

Because you simply can't trust anyone else to create it for you.

Everyone here should be well aware that any publicly created crypto has been more than likely influenced by the NSA or other groups (as has already been exposed by Wikileaks and others).

So I prefer that we discuss ways of creating new crypto rather than saying "we can't discuss that as we are not qualified". As that is the easiest argument to force everyone to use unsafe software (i.e. don't think for yourself just use what *we say you should use*).

I don't quite understand the paranoid behavior so many of you here display at the NSA. The NSA is not an omnipotetnt all knowing being, it's simply an organization for America's security.

The NSA more likely than not, has had hardly if any any influence on crypto. If they did, then Bitcoin would not have reached where it has today. All the scams and thefts that have rocketed cryptocoins the past year(s) were created mostly by people we know the identities of. The guy who scammed people with his ponzi for millions of Bitcoin, was arrested. Charlie Shrem, was arrested. The guy who scammed the Mintpal users, we know how he looks like, etc etc.

If you actually look at the facts and details, you'd find that most of the big scams going on or that have happened in crypto are not secretive, the identities of the scammers are known, it's just catching them/putting them in jail that awaits.

So please, stop with your damn paranoia. It's annoying.
754  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Anita Sarkeesian - Feminist Frequency - Donating in Bitcoin on: December 27, 2014, 03:00:33 AM
Women and Men are not equal. Men are stronger than Women. Women are more considerate(empathy) than Men. Men are more dominant than Women. Women are more submissive than men.

Get it? What people(researches) don't want you to know, is the biological inequality between the male and female sex.

Feminism isn't about sprouting hate at men, it's about educating both sexes on the theoretical equality of both sexes. However, people like the OP of ths thread, Sarkeesian, and many others take it to a whole new level, where they hypocritically antagonize the male sex on everything in an attempt to uplift the female sex. That's called bullying or sexism mr/mrs/ms OP.

Instead of attacking every little thing that you see as sexist in your twisted mind, OP, why don't you go and educate people in rural communities and 3rd world countries, where sexism and violence against women is a really huge issue, and with that I say, take your hand and shove it up your hypocritical ass, OP. Thanks.

Uh, yeah there is. We stopped the practice of slavery and subjugating women that he commanded.

True. The Old Testament portion of the Bible is complete bullshit. It's full of murder and hated commanded by "god".

We don't need religion, but, for the meantime and for most of the world, it works. It gives hope. Until the day another group or system comes up that can give people the hope and love they need, religion will always be there.

Change the name of Darkcoin and it will be the official end of Darkcoin...Let's get real here. Darkcoin has a large instamine; we know this, it's goal is anonymity; we know this.

Now, do you really think the average person will use Darkcoin with it's high ass instamine, in cases other than attempting to launder money and buying/selling drugs and other illegal items?

It definitely won't be a store of value, now or ever(instamine). So you might as well stick with what it's for.
