I dropped a bunch of GEO on Whistler Ski Resort BC, Canada. I'll try and grab as many as I can tomorrow while snowboarding! Unless someone beats me there!! That will be a great test! Enjoy your time on the mountain Just got back from some beta testing (snowboarding) and the results were great. http://imgur.com/zh7SwUtI was able to pick up many of the GeoCoins I placed around Blackcomb Mountain!! I would have grabbed them all if my cell phone battery didn't die on me. Trader19's idea of putting coins on Mt. Everest gave me the inspiration to drop some on top of a mountain. What a great place to find 5 GEO! http://imgur.com/lUT7ax3

Thanks for the translation. I added it to the OP. I also added a couple screenshots for the geocaching tech You can drop a coin on high-res aerial images for precise placement. You can see GeoCoins on street view too. Drag them around and save their location for other people to find. Looks like excellent progress Tobler! I'll be happy to help test this over the weekend when I have more time! Nice work so far!! this is so cool, when it gets released im gona put 100geocoins on mount Everest 😃 who is with me.? Its gona be great promotion when those coins gets picked up. This brings up an important question. Do the GeoCoins need to be dropped within areas of cell coverage? I assume your mobile device needs to be online to accept the GeoCoins.

Price seems to have rebounded on the exchanges up near 9k again. You guys better dump before it's too late I could use some more GEO.

|

Pull your buy orders guys, someone clearly wants out of GEO. We can make money when the price drops too. Up or down we can win. I say we all move our buy orders to 5000 sats, let these dumpers dump for cheap.
I'd be down for some cheap GEO around 5k Dump away!

What I really like is that GEO had a nice pump from the Polo news and it must have been tempting for the dev to dump his premine but never did. Something big must be coming.
Dev is legit for sure. I'm excited for the upcoming geodashing game to come out, that should have a nice effect on the price. I'm happy the initial hype is over for now, it gives us time to grab some more GEOs

With Tobler now aboard, the GeoCoin Slack group is ready to go. If you want to get involved with the development, you can ask Tobler, Shkembe or me for an invitation.

You know this is taking exactly the same steps of every P&D vaporware scamcoin? Anon dev claiming huge skills, low supply, no proof, everyone tweeting of 10$ worth a coin, etc.
Go to CKC thread, read the dev posts, then come back to GEO, read the dev post (and buy GEO). 1 thing is clear, Tobler knows GIS. He also posted a short video to prove the software is under development. What really tips me off is you can see a small elephant icon in his taskbar , that's PostgreSQL. Only an open source GIS dev uses Postgres. Anyhow, I've talked to Tobler and I assure this is legit. Of course DYOR and make your own decisions. Best to get behind a real dev with admirable intentions then the ICO P&D scams you are used to. Best of luck. lmfao based on your logic a dev using Microsoft Windows makes me run as far as I can ROFL developers use all platforms. I'm sure Tobler has multiple servers OS, etc. Just leave if you don't believe. Or are you interested? I have a long term standing with many people in crypto and I stand by my word. I wouldn't say this if I wasn't sure. I was just making fun of your logic pgAdmin III ==> GIS developer. Yeah I am interested but for now I only see vaporware and hype. Time will tell. GL No need to argue, but I have to agree with Secrets. Typically, only a GIS developer would use pgAdmin. Good eye man! Time will tell indeed. GL guys I'm also a big fan of PostgreSQL/PostGIS so that's a huge plus for me!

I think the Geocaching side may be underplayed. We know GIS is huge market, but will require some hard work for tobler to get something useful integrated into coin form. Geocaching I envision being used by advertisers possibly. Imagine your mcdonalds, or similar establishment setting a geocache every few hours for a couple coins. that'd surely get some amateur miners through their door. (once crypto is more mainstream)
That is a very interesting idea, the marketing applications alone could be huge. I saw other users here mentioning setting up faucets in commercial locations which would also bring miners in. I could also see the geocaching game working well for site seeing and tourism groups, trying to draw tourists to historic places, attractions and tours. Lots of potential for sure!

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the support. The Qubit algorithm has been a big success for many miners allowing great distribution for everybody. Support for GEO is gaining tons of momentum. As a way to show you guys the geocaching code is real and under development, here a little video geodropping some coins all over the world. No you can't test it yet, yes we are on track to release this in about a month, updates as we get closer to the release. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juyITLxwuXoSweet video, can't wait until that goes live! I can put my geocaching skills to good use

Glad to see you've been working hard, awesome website Any idea when the geocaching beta testing will be ready? The geocaching technology is complete and ready for alpha testing. HTML5 multisig wallet integration is in development. I''ll update when I can. It's looking really good so far. When we will have the full functional geocaching. Hard to say but roughly 1 month and beta testing will be open. I will update as we go. really looking forward to it!!! I want to test too. I'm also excited to help with the testing! Keep up the good work Tobs
