Just checked out the html5 geocashing wallet. This is really cool tech. Something fresh for crypto and maybe the mainstream too? Pretty sure there are tons of people that geocash just for fun and adventure, If you guys can integrate with that market, it could take GEO one step closer to mainstream.
I'm thinking about integration with Foursquare, or even as a competitor to Foursquare. No need to earn badges or points, instead you earn coins at check-ins. Foursquare has over 20 million users. Do you guys have any idea how big this could get ? All it takes now is a cool head and some solid dev work. Things we need in the future: -An easy way to both buy and sell GEO -Promotional work Get the word out, if there is one coin that can attract large venture capital and mainstream adoption it's GEO But above all, mad respect for Tobler. 1. Yeah but they can't do this forever can they? At one point they are going to have to grow up and face the problem. Which exposes how suited they are for this job.
3. I will re-phrase: At what point are you going to give up on them? If they don't respond for even longer, when are you going to realize they are of no use anymore?
Sorry, I wish it was true that they want to make it work but so far I see no indication to that. They had many chances.
1. Thrue they have to come out the forest and present the plan they have or give back the remaining funds to the comunity. If needed I travel to Dronten and ask it kindly. 3. Lmao that will NEVER happen. They left this coin to rot, together with the hopes and dreams of becoming rich. Geocoin meanwhile is gaining traction. Even IF Bitsend comes back they lost the credibility and first mover advantage of being a geo oriented coin. It's over for good. |

This right here is the future. Demand for crypto will come from the public instead of needing to force feed crypto to the masses. It's the missing link that was due for so long.
It will be a real life super Mario coin hunt.

This will create a total hype. What entices people? money. Well there you have it, with Geocoin you can say "look bud, if you go there and there you get money" bud asks "what do I have to do?" you "Nothing, just go to that place and if you make it you'll be rewarded" This can spark a crypto gold rush. I have moved my coins of the exchange and will wait. If there is any coin that can succeed it's Geo.
Shops can create faucets, rewarding people coming to their store. It's a great way of advertising.
Once the ball starts rolling, the general public is drawn into crypto. The acceptance of crypto is a byproduct of Geocoin's infrastructure, but a very important one. I feel it's the missing link between the general public and crypto. Because why would Joe the plumber use a volatile currency like Bitcoin instead of cash? When you think of it, there is no reason. With Geocoin there is a true incentive, people will get drawn to it because actually using it is what makes it cool. Even Uberpop can use Geo, the passenger puts coins on his destination and the driver picks up the coins on arrival, all by mobile phone. Or a user can put coins on his pickup location, the driver that gets there first recieves the bonus.
With Bitcoin, there are miners and traders and a few users.
With Geocoin, the users may outweigh the miners and traders. Using Geo is the prime legitimacy of the coin, where the backbone is supported by miners because the price of Geo will make it worthwile to mine.

Hate to nitpick, but there is a small typing error in the OP : Digital Geocaching Implementation: An online web interface where geocoins can be dragged and dropped onto a map. When a different user visits that location (coordinate), they receive the geocoins. Geodashing is an outdoor sport in which teams of players use GPS receivers to find geopoints around the world. The objective is to visit as many geopoints as possible and receive geocoins for it. There are quite a few fun ideas surrounding this initiative. Although I admit, geodashing sounds cool |

At this point it's over for good, even if bitsend returns they have lost all respect and I doubt anyone would invest again in these people.
Even better, checkcoin is a redundant turd. Geocoin is already alpha testing their release, what the Bitsend amateurs couldn't do in a YEAR, Geocoin did in three months. This goes to show that Checkcoin was doomed to fail and Bitsend being a bunch of amateuristic dreamers without any real vision or technological skills. I feel stupid for ever putting trust in both this coin and it's 'development' Not only has Bitsend insulted the crypto community, they also tainted their name with this scam. Is the Coin 'theirs'? It's not.
If people in Geo are doing it, so can people do it here.
But who will work for free to make it? With bitcoin price rising again, Bitsend will make it nonetheless, because decline of btc was the cause they couldn't pay the developper.  So Bitsend, come on in again..... 3,2,1...... Bingo  Dude lay off the hopium. As someone else said, even if they do come back no one in their right mind is going to support this. |

If you are serious about geocaching and geotechnologies with the blockchain, take a look at GEO. The price is coming down.
I've had enough of geo stuff for awhile. There's still a bit of chance that something good happens for checkcoin, I guess for early investors damage has been done if they took the loss, some others buy them up for that chance, with no news coming out it's more like a lotteryticket. Goodluck with that. Oh I thought we were dead here, but I see someone buying cheap. Good catch. AGAIN DELISTING MESSAGE. IT IS COUNT DOWN This time nobody is going to save this coin. And rightly so, it should be delisted together with the hope that still lingers. Lost, like tears in the rain. |

Dear Community,
We have been watching this thread for a while now. The reactions of the community are various.
It is impossible to react on every question there has been asked in the passed few weeks, thats why we have chosen to react to the community as a group rather than individual.
We have been meeting,mailing and calling with several possible investors. At this moment we don't have any promising results to share but we are awaiting feedback from several parties. We are trying to keep Checkcoin on the most important exchanges and we appreciate any help with that. The community of Checkcoin should not be afraid that the Team of Bitsend will ever leave this project before finishing it.
We will come back with a detailed update within 20 days.
