741  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it easy to trust someone? on: October 15, 2023, 07:00:43 AM
This quite reminds me of the discussion about why we should all drop our Bitcoin wallet to the ones we love so that it doesn't go to waste, do you really know that if your home is free of an enemy the enemies outside can't get you? When your family is full of bad people or people you just can't trust you should build a family, your own family, and have your children, if you can't trust your wife or husband you will have a kid you can at least trust.

I believe your ATM card pin should be safe with your partner if you trust them, or your kid if you trust them, it's all about trust just like you said and you have to make sure there is trust before taking any money step or you will be betrayed.

There are many rich men then died without letting their families get ahold of their money, they only left behind their properties for them, it's because they believed it would be the cause of hate and even wars within the family.

ATM PIN code should be private though, you don't have to share with anyone but if you see the need to do that it's fine, and that is if you trust the other person.
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an alternative way? on: October 15, 2023, 06:17:41 AM
My crypto wallet is offline and this makes it safer, all you need is your wallet address when ever you buy some coins just send to your wallet address and if you want to track your wallet it's fine to do so and it's safer, I use a wallet tracker app that I got from play store and insert my wallet address, this is how I see all my coins in one place, and it alerts me when I send new coins into the wallet.

If you want to hide transactions it's better to use mixer service but there is no way someone can know who owns a particular bitcoin wallet, so in this case they are free to know the Bitcoin address, it's why many people know the wallet address of big Bitcoin whales till date and able to keep track of them when they move the Bitcoin.

There is no way to receive Bitcoin without getting involved with a centralized exchange and even if you use p2p services you still have to drop your wallet address, this shouldn't be an issue unless you are trying to move stolen Bitcoin? Not my problem, Mixer is the solution for this.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only property I have is bitcoin on: October 14, 2023, 11:15:30 AM
I've asked myself what will happen to my crypto portfolio is I lose my life but damn it's sad to think about how wasteful it could get, even if you leave it in the hands of someone they might decide to just spend it all and waste it once you passed, so I don't let this worry me, if it's my time to go then my crypto stays where it is.

It's going to be helpful still if you don't have anyone to give your private keys because you have to take the allocation off the table and it isn't coming back anyways, makes the whole Bitcoin even more scarce so do not worry much if you don't have anyone to pass your private keys unto, you are still doing every bitcoin holder a big favor.

There are so many ups and downs in this world, not everybody will have a good family, and not everyone will be good to you, it's is just a hard fact about life, so lead a good life while you are still breathing today and do try to find someone who you can trust, they don't have to be your age mate.
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robert Kennedy Jr. Promises to End White House War on Bitcoin on: October 14, 2023, 10:07:07 AM
He would get my vote over biden or trump.

Not a fan of 80 year old men running the country.

Kennedy is closer to my age of 66 so I rather pick him.

I double checked his age and he is 69.
Hahaha, I like this response, I am not living in America but yes Kennedy Jr will also have my vote if I can vote on anyone of them, I just don't know if he has the real power to get to that position because in my country the corruption is so much that if they don't want someone who is fit to become a leader to get to the sit they will make it happen, I hope this isn't the situation with the U.S elections? Or election rigging is also available over there? Lord have mercy.

I am not ready to put my trust in any politicians because most of them are liars and manipulators, I have some relations with two who are family friends and even in family, they used and dump their own people who never asked them for anything, but they promised heaven and earth for them when they get to power only to be abandoned later.

They now pretend as if they don't know the family again but one got out of power a year ago and he isn't looking too well, don't know how he turned out to be like that, I believe he can't make a come back anymore because he destroyed the trust of his own people, so I will say do not trust the words coming out from any politicians mouth.
745  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitMEX founder projects $750,000 to $1 million #Bitcoin price by 2026 on: October 13, 2023, 04:33:34 PM
Don't take it serious if you know what's best for you, before Bitcoin hit 69k and turned back in 2021 many prediction are showing up on news online, from popular people in the financial sectors and also in crypto space, it's all a means to tie investors money down so that they can relax and dump on you all.

You as an investor should already have a price target for taking your profits right now, if you haven't figure this out already you are in the same category as those people who are trapped at the ATH of Bitcoin, thinking that Bitcoin will hit $150,000, if you let this deceivers get the best of you there will be sad stories to share by the end of 2025 going into 2026.

The reality price target is around 80k or 100k, I know many will target more but don't sit on your hands watching your return of investment roll down from the hills, start taking your profit and get them out of the way, there will always be fools in this market, avoid getting dumped on by the smart investors.
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how many halvings have you witnessed? on: October 13, 2023, 10:41:58 AM
I can see many people focusing their certainty on Bitcoin pump after the halving, I wasn't here in 2012 halving and that's the only halving period I missed in the past, I noticed that Bitcoin gain momentum some months later after the halving, so if you are thinking that Bitcoin will spike after the halving you are going to be disappointed, all I can say is bear market can be very hard, I believe 2024 will be the hardest part of the bear season where many people will give up.

I am simply emphasizing on what has happened before, and I believe it will happen again, maybe people will get tired of holding, and many will take their losses and move out of the market, the momentum always returns when people don't expect, and that's where big investors will start coming back into crypto, I missed making the biggest gains in 2021 I believe I never made enough and I won't let this change slide again.

If you are smart you will keep DCA into Bitcoin gradually, as we are now in a crossroads where we don't know which way Bitcoin will go next, instead of trying hard to know it's better to be prepared for anything, keep buying Bitcoin as time goes by is the best investment strategy.
747  Economy / Economics / Re: Help me analyze the feasibility of this business idea on: October 13, 2023, 09:05:09 AM
Whether you like it or not, technology owns the future in today's world, whatever you plan to do make sure it has something to do with tech, the world is becoming more advanced and we are gradually leaving behind the old way of living, finance related is now more into technology than ever before, if you ask me where billions of dollars will be going in the future it will be into technology, web 3, mate verse, artificial intelligence, you name it, this is what I believe will reign big in the future.

I like been the boss of myself, I don't line working under anyone and that's why I am able to survive in this harsh country I am living in, if I had followed the same way my elder brothers in the family did I would be regretting right now, technology is the future of finance, simple.

Learn skills in these categories and you will be doing so well in the future, there will always be masters and bosses hiring people in this field, trust me, even teachers in schools today are now getting paid doing online jobs than their local school teachers jobs.
748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin ETFs taming Bitcoin? on: October 13, 2023, 08:29:27 AM
Normally it looks like it OP, but I feel like ETF is benefiting for the government and other powerful entities, and people don't care, the focus is still on Bitcoin itself not the ETFs, haven't you notice that the noise is going down and slowly fading away? Even if ETF can pump Bitcoin it's just a matter of some time, the hype will wash off as Bitcoin will still do it's thing, it's all about the chart, not some ETF approval.

Let's not focus the mind on ETF approval, if it never happens it could be a black swan opportunity, imagine they come out in the open tomorrow and announce that the ETFs are canceled till many years in the future, it could cause panic and massive sell off, maybe it could bring Bitcoin back to 12k who knows? These people are manipulating us, and I don't believe anything on the news anymore.

What if Gensler is acting on the order he was given? What if all those public video of him in those hearings are acting, to put up a show? As if they are against him, as if Gensler is to be blamed? And maybe that's why he is still in the office today, they should have fired him already, and I believe all these dramas have connections.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Hobby Bikes with Bitcoin on: October 12, 2023, 04:10:24 PM
If that's your dream since childhood, why not just buy a bicycle, why buy bitcoin? because if something happens to you but you haven't bought a bicycle, it will make your soul restless. LOL My question is how much does your dream bike cost?

The choice to buy bitcoins instead of buying a bicycle is a good decision and I think you have studied bitcoins before deciding to invest. The decision you choose will be very visible when Bitcoin hits its next ATH moment and you can choose to buy a bike after that. You are on the right track now and keep maintaining those good wishes until what you want to achieve is realized.
How is bicycle the same experience with a power bike? The difference is huge and also what makes you think he never got a bicycle at a very young age? Most guys who are into Bikes were once bicycle fans or are still.

Are you also saying you don't have something you wished for? So if you die now your soul will.become restless because you have something you wished for? This is nonsense, if this is true then all humans in this world will become a restless soul after they died.

Everybody has something they want, even if they can't get it they keep trying, who doesn't crave for financial freedom? Who doesn't want to retire at a good not too old age? There is always something human heart desires.
750  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Better Than Digital Gold on: October 12, 2023, 02:06:40 PM
There is nothing called digital gold and the only thing close to this is Bitcoin, I think it's better your fix your topic, because gold is physical in nature because we found them deep in the ground and seas, but we can't find Bitcoin the same way, because Bitcoin survives on the internet, this makes it suited to be called a digital gold.

I prefer to be in gold and Bitcoin because we can't deny that gold is one of the most valuable metals in the world and it existed even before Bitcoin, the market cap of gold is way bigger than Bitcoin but I doubt the result would be the same today if gold and Bitcoin existed from the beginning of time,  maybe Bitcoin would beat gold? But that's not possible anyway since Satoshi isn't an angel or a god.

I could remember some time ago when new projects coming up in the crypto space using real gold to receive investors, telling them that their company is backed by real gold and some claimed to have digital gold backed by real gold, I don't see any of these projects standing today, they all fade away.
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling vs trading on: October 12, 2023, 12:53:35 PM
There is nothing wrong in holding and trading, and both is possible if you have the right skills, holding can be a mess if you are a bad trader and it can affect your holding, it's safer to choose one but it's possible to be in both.

You will make more money in holding than trading but people do like and prefer passive income so that they can live on it every day, but I don't believe much in passive income compared to long-term investment, I don't want to know how professional you are at trading, if you have invested in Bitcoin at $100 you will make biggest money today holding your bags, compare to trading, because with trading comes some risks, there will be wrong callings and you will lose money.

Buy Bitcoin and get a hardware wallet to store them, go back to your life and live on your normal salary, you will be a big fella in the future and many will question your source of income, because they don't just understand what you did while they are busy looking for fast money.
752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 12, 2023, 11:25:07 AM
I feel you OP, and the truth part is when people start feeling tired of holding something new is already coming, I just feel my strength more when people lose hope, this is me, this confusion happens to those who don't have lot going on in their life, they stare at Bitcoin chart everyday around the clock, but I don't, my focus isn't about today, my plans aren't ever about the present, I have make myself in such way that today is for you to live and enjoy but when it comes to financial freedom it's always about tomorrow, I just find it easier to hold now than I used to believe in the past years, I believe I was not this strong in those days.

Find something to do with your time, you are giving in to emotion if you keep looking at the present price action, I still believe that Bitcoin can go back to 20k and I am fully prepared for that dump too, if you are complaint about getting tired while holding Bitcoin, how about those that have been holding since 2016? There are whales that are doing this right from the start.

They found this easy because they have other things they spend time with in life, it's not always about investing for them, they spend time with family, go out and have fun do some fun things just to kill time, I am never tired of waiting because I understand Bitcoin and the market in general, I've grown past reacting to every bitcoin moves.
753  Economy / Economics / Re: Honda Now Accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum As Payment Methods on: October 11, 2023, 05:07:56 PM
Bitcoin is many people's investment and they won't want to use Bitcoin to purchase cars as they are nothing but liability, still people need a car when they can afford one, I already have a ride and I don't plan on getting another for the next three years, also it's not easy to import cars into the country as this is more costly than the amount you will be buying the car, so ridiculous.

There are many abandoned cars by car dealers in my country because they can't afford the clearance fee, they left everything and move on, this also makes car value to rise insanely high in my country.

I can use crypto as a means of payment, to buy some things online but not very costly things like cars, especially using Bitcoin, if I am going to use Bitcoin to purchase anything over a thousand dollars for example, I will make sure I get the Bitcoin back not too far in future, Bitcoin is gold and it should be kept instead of spending.
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 11, 2023, 04:24:24 PM
There are people who will discourage newbies on this forum because of the way the newbie wants to take to get their Bitcoin, I will discourage any newbie who knows nothing about Bitcoin, crypto exchanges, and crypto wallets, why will I encourage such people to buy Bitcoin? They will end up losing their money that's why they need ti be discouraged from buying Bitcoin, it's not the first thing to do.

Beginners need to understand the different types of crypto wallets we have in the crypto space, they need to know the importance of recovery seeds and private keys, that's why some people are still storing their Bitcoin on coinbase and other big crypto exchanges, if they understand why Bitcoin are safer in a non custodial wallet maybe they will change their mind?

Trading is also not good for beginners because they will do it wrong, they will make mistakes and it will cost them their money, how can a beginner who is lazy about learning crypto wallets and others learn trading when it's one of the hardest ways to make money in crypto space? If you come across any response that looks like discouraging for newbies, make sure you try to understand what they are trying to prevent.
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What encouraged your continuity in Bitcoin investment and Bitcointalk forum? on: October 11, 2023, 11:22:45 AM
It's way easier to believe in Bitcoin today than past years, today many institutional are investing in bitcoin, and that's enough to get my hopes up and running, in the past years most popular figures bashed Bitcoin with fraud words and bubbles, what would you have done if you are here back then? Scared away? Many people ran because of this, saying that Bitcoin won't get anywhere, turn to your left and right online, and you will see some bad opinions about Bitcoin, but today things have changed.

My motivation now is stronger than four years ago, I had nothing great going on in my life but I somehow just believe that Bitcoin will work, at least make me something better, many people tried talking me out of it, including my families, but I was so sure that things will be fine, there are times where I almost doubted myself but reading the whitepaper over again just gives me strength.

I knew this forum but trust me it wasn't part of the reason why I have trust in Bitcoin, I never decided to create an account on this forum then,
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA method on: October 11, 2023, 10:14:07 AM
You have no excuse not to acquire Bitcoin, this is one of my most used word when
 discussing with my friends that have
 high interest in crypto, but don't have capital too buy.

Since I introduced the DCA method to them, it was a game changer too them,
 DCA is the best way for low income earners to acquire more Bitcoin.

I don't know if anyone else has different opinion about it?
Same opinion brother, same, I don't see anything that makes getting Bitcoin with piece of money from weeks to months than using dollar cost averaging, it's normal for beginners to believe that they will need to buy 1 Bitcoin as many that get into Bitcoin through my help asked the same question.

How much is one Bitcoin going to cost them say said, until I told them that they don't need to get one Bitcoin to have Bitcoin, not even the half, they can start from somewhere, and that's through the help of dollar cost averaging.

Some people are out of Biitcoin today Because they thought they couldn't get half BTC or just some pieces of one Bitcoin, someone living close to me thought the same thing, thing is many people don't do research, that's why they don't know, many have smartphones and the internet today but still, they late lacking vital information.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need to understand bitcoin and wallets before investing on: October 11, 2023, 09:11:15 AM
This is one of the reasons why money isn't everything, if someone introduce you to crypto you need to learn from them in time, but people this days, once they hear that its possible to make money out of something they will dive into it straightaway without any questions and concerns first, crypto is a no-nonsense land, it gives no face for anyone who are not ready to put their money somewhere first and give their whole self into learning about crypto, they will always get burned if they are not ready to learn.

Crypto is unforgiven for everyone who aren't ready to learn, because there are more than dozens of places where you will surely make mistakes or fall victim to scams, it's inevitable for people who don't want to learn, and that's why we see some people calling Bitcoin names, instead of taking the blame on themselves.

I was so ready to make all the mistakes but my main focus is practicing everything myself, and I did end up with some losses but later I started to realize that it is better to devote your time and energy on learning first, until you are sure to handle things yourself.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: October 10, 2023, 11:31:18 AM
~~~
It's not a bad way to avoid being hit by a catastrophic loss in case you account gets hacked but I think it is a hassle to have so many alternative email especially phone number where not every country can get multiple phone number.
One can buy and use virtual phone numbers, they are not that expensive and if someone wants more security, they will obviously need to spend some money for it.
Of course, you can use virtual phone numbers, but I think that this is not a very good solution if you compare it simply with buying a SiM card with a real phone number.
Usually problems with virtual numbers arise if you have not used them for a while.  It may often come as a surprise to you that such a number stops working.  You just need to take into account that those organizations that sell such numbers may be too unreliable and may either go bankrupt or simply disappear along with your numbers.  A physical SIM card is much more reliable, but there are usually problems with anonymity when purchasing it.  And the official seller requires verification of the buyer’s identity.
This is of course inconvenient.  But this is much more reliable than virtual phone numbers.
I don't like the idea of using your phone number or even if it's virtual for anything account related, the thing with sim cards is you aren't the only one seeing your code when you receive them, those people working in those network offices are also looking for money, they can be monitoring your messages and they can get access into your accounts, this days I found even email address to be more secured than sim card, because at least you can use 2FA code on your email account, I wish some thing like this is also possible with sim cards too.
Do not use your number to sign up and receive important log in codes, those who are a victim to sim swap don't know that it's from the network officers themselves, those who are smart knows that this is true, hungry monkeys are working in those sim cards company, do not trust any.
Also, I think it's stupid to leave your money on any gambling platform either big or small, because once in a while casinos can get hacked too and to my own knowledge about online casinos they do have poor security compare to crypto exchanges.
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I recently convinced my employer to start paying me in BTC, it has been great on: October 10, 2023, 09:25:07 AM
You claim that your country is an underdeveloped country so we can assume that bitcoin is not legal in your country, if bitcoin is not legal then it will be safe for you to pay salary through bitcoin. Just saying from my opinion about bitcoin legality because as you mentioned your country is underdeveloped and as far as I know underdeveloped countries never accept Bitcoin. It is a very good decision if you proceed with caution. Accepting payments through Bitcoin instead of accepting payments in local currency is another level of thinking. If you accept payment through Bitcoin, you can hold that Bitcoin for a long time if you want, and if you want, you can sell your BTC through P2P.  Undoubtedly, you have taken a commendable initiative.
If Bitcoin is not legal in the country that doesn't mean he should not accept Bitcoin as a payment from someone else, this transaction happens between two people and you don't need to pick up a speaker and microphone to start telling the world that you accept Bitcoin as means of payment, the problem with the government about Bitcoin can only start if you set up a banner or a signboard with Bitcoin acceptance on it, this will draw attention and it could result in paying fine or even worse depending on the country's law.
Bitcoin was once illegal in my country too and I know that I can only get into a problem with the law if I make my interaction with Bitcoin public, so this person should be fine if they choose to maintain silence and avoid attention.
The only thing that feels off with the OP story is how OP can ask his employer to pay him in Bitcoin because there is no story about how the employer gets the Bitcoin to pay him, how did he know that the employer knows how to buy Bitcoin? Because many people don't even know this.
760  Economy / Economics / Re: The economics of war. How does this affect us all especially us in crypto? on: October 10, 2023, 08:19:55 AM
~
More persons who are not yet investing in crypto will consider it more with all this crisis and them seeing how easily other physical assets can easily be destroyed and lost, and how safely one's assets can be with crypto especially bitcoins.
For us already in cryptocurrency, the entire situation of the crisis and how easily we understand that it can spread gives more reasons to want to invest more in this asset which is bitcoins.
I guess you are doing the same thing too? I don't think this will encourage people to start investing, it will fool the masses into thinking that this is the end, many weak hands will sell and stay away from crypto, only smart people will see this war as an opportunity, just like how the covid virus played out, since I've learned my mistakes in the past, I now sees this as a buying opportunity, I am just been greedy when others are fearful.
I was honestly waiting for something like this to happen, I don't hope for war though but a black swan event? Yes of course, I will just keep dollar cost averaging into 2024 and probably take my rest after Bitcoin halving and two months after, I am doing all these based on what we've seen in the past with crypto.
There is this asset that I invested into since last year, and just because the CEO is from Israel the investors of the project are already in a panic mood, they are selling even while the project is very strong right now, one of the most talked about in the space now, yet people ate getting out, after doing my own research I see that the CEO isn't even in Israel but Massachusetts.
