greedyjohn, i know you mean well but this kind of posting only scares people away in my opinion. this because it looks like begging and it looks like nobody currently is interested.

marketing is always good, but positive spamming and begging isnt...just my opinion though Smiley

if updates keep coming ike they have been coming the last weeks new people will join by themselves. it has to go naturally. if people are not interested you cant force them Smiley

if good progress is made with the coin new investors will come automatically.

you are right at the last part of your post though. but let people discuss what they want to both positive and negative. as long as postings are explained and discussed normally everything is fine.

the last couple of weeks we already see a lot of new faces here which is good.

744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] Navajo Coin - on: November 02, 2014, 04:17:05 PM
What price was in the beginning? I do not remember and Bittrex shows only from September 8.

In the beginning, when it was renamed NAV I had left order for 2000 sat and was executed. But that was the peak! For an average price of 1500 sat for about a week or two.
If it was not this / these hacker, I think now would be a 5k ...

true. 2000 was the max. most of the time price was around 800 - 1300 sats and wen anon news was announced price began to spike.

I bought most of my coins at 900sat and a bunch at 1200-1500 sat Sad

745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] Navajo Coin - on: November 02, 2014, 12:47:28 AM

i will do some test by sending 500k coins from my wallet to bittrex to see what happens with the top 10 addresses in the richlist.
You must have millions of NAV  Wink.

well im close to the top 10, but dont have many millions only one Smiley but will do my best to become nr 1 bagholder haha

that is why im not complaining with current prices. i want to buy one more million before price goes up Smiley
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] Navajo Coin - ●NEW BETA CLIENT●CHAT FEATURE●Projects in Development on: November 01, 2014, 11:37:33 PM
but how exactly does an exchange address work?

i mean lets say adress xxx is bittrex and address yyy is my bittrex-nav address.

lets say yyy has 1 million nav. this address is shown on the richlist.

in this example nobody else has an account at bittrex. does this mean address xxx also has 1 million nav because yyy has 1 million?

i mean will the yyy address been seen as a sub address of xxx?

that would be a bit strange as that would mean that the richlist isnt correct as it shows my million twice, one time from my bittrex nav address and one time from the bittrex main addres.

isnt it so that the exchanges dont have an own address? instead they have created nav-bittrex-addresses for each user who has nav at bittrex.

also if bittrex does have a main address which includes all nav coins located at bittrex then i find the 3 million really low. that would mean 54million coins are located elsewhere.

or am i seeing it totally wrong?

i will do some test by sending 500k coins from my wallet to bittrex to see what happens with the top 10 addresses in the richlist.
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] Navajo Coin - ●NEW BETA CLIENT●CHAT FEATURE●Projects in Development on: November 01, 2014, 07:37:08 PM
I noticed that last week there where 2 wallets with 3 million coins and 2 with 2 million.

When i check the richlist now (http://navajocoin.org/rich-list) i see one of the 3 million wallets has vanished and 1 of the 2 million wallets has vanished as well.

Last time i checked the top 10 had 1 million+ coins, now the top 15 has 1million+. So one 2 of the biggest wallets sold half of their coins or moved coins between wallets. I think mostly the last one as there are only about 600.000 coins been sold this week (a bit of a guess but cant be much more).

So like the other guy suggested here it would be great to add some more data to the richlist. And besides his suggestions also the last activity like the screen package posted last week.

I find it very interesting to see movements in the top 10. It currently takes about 4btc to get yourself in the top 10, assuming you can buy in at current price Smiley
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] Navajo Coin - ●NEW BETA CLIENT●CHAT FEATURE●Projects in Development on: November 01, 2014, 06:23:18 PM
Can we have a few new columns on the rich list: Percent of coins, BTC, and Value.
% - how much of total coins
BTC- how much it's equivalent
Value- how much in USD

Also, can we include stats on the distribution? like top holders
EG
Top N addresses, # holders, Holdings, %
top 10  10 5,000,000 NAV  10%
top 100 155 10,000,000 NAV 35%
top 1000 412 40,000,000 NAV 50%
Total  801 55,000,000 NAV 100%

Do we know which wallets belongs to exchanges?

Can we also drill down the wallets to look at transactions, how much is staked, sent, received.

very good idea and suggestion. i would really like to see those addons as well

yeah true, i will keep an eye on it closely
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do yall realize that a working, decentralized, anon. goods market exists now? on: November 01, 2014, 01:32:49 AM
sounded good but after taking a look at it i think its too early for the mass.

i dont have nxt or a nxt wallet so i cant use it. im not willing to download a nxt client, then download the market plugin and then copy some files from one place to the other just to get it to work.

me as a simple customer just wants an online place where i can sign in and buy stuff in 1 minute. i dont want to loose hours just figuring out how to get into this market.

this is not meant as fud, but i think its just too early for normal people to use this.

Hello everyone, please rest assured that we are tirelessly working on this coin's development.

I was literally up till 5am on a work night finishing the beta client for release, so I hope you can understand that I have taken couple days rest after the beta launch.

Despite that, last night after I got home from my day job, I completed one of the node scripts of the anon network and we will begin our internal testing on that part shortly. One step closer.

While we are testing that, I am going to resume work on the client and fix the bugs we've found while also implementing some new features.

We will make a proper update about this next stage of the client in the coming days once we figure out a realistic timeframe for this.

I hope our current streak of constant updates and timely deliveries is keeping your confidence up that we will deliver the finished anon product as soon as possible.

All the best,
pakage

Hi,

I totally forgot it yesterday, but i have just send you 20.000 nav for your hard work and effort! I know it wont make you a millionaire but if nav will go up over time this amount of coins can have some nice value! And its just to show you my appreciation.

And if others also donate you get even richer Smiley

Can you explain a bit more about the node script. I will reread the anon whitepaper today to avoid other dumb questions, but what is a "node" and what does the script do and for what purpose?

cheers

Robin

I agree.  Lets focus on a rough time table for anonymous transactions for NAV.  I wonder if it can be completed before March 2015.
It could be completed sooner, even before December 2014, But DEV team should be careful about announcing timelines.

That's true - we don't want to announce the release date before we have our technology fully ready. That kind of system is a complicated task and nobody wants to see any unexpected delays etc. That's why when we will announce Anon release date - it will be final date, without any possibility of delay Wink
Hope You're having a great Thursday Navajo Coin Community!
Cheers Smiley

Hi,

I totally agree and undestand that! But can you ask soopy if its possible for him to place some regular posts here on how he is doing with it. I mean so we can see what he is working on and how far the progress is.

cheers

@hashforce dont look at the price too much. it will grow when more people get interested. indeed price is low at the moment, but it only takes a few buys of 1btc and price wil tripple at least.

so when devs come up with news that impress the community price will go up for sure. untill then see it as your chance to buy cheap coins.

and if you are so worried about the price why wont you just place a 2btc buy order at 200sat Smiley that will be more then enough to keep the price stable.

I want to ask, why is there very minimal interest in the NAVAJO COIN beta test client? I go there everyday, but only see 1 or 2 other members at most.

well problem is also that we all live in different timezones. so when i am able to test most of you are sleeping Smiley

757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Navajo Coin [NAV] -*New Beta Wallet* Chat Feature & more *NOW ON CRYPTSY* on: October 29, 2014, 11:06:43 PM
hi,

great to hear i could help a bit.

about the usernames vs nav addresses. well im not sure what programming language you use so im not sure if below suggestions will be doable for the wallet.

but creating a database with a username and nav address table should solve this issue prety easily. i think there wont be an anonimity risk as people who would like to be fully anonymous will use a username which isnt linked to anything else.

if a database causes to big of a load for the wallet you can also create a script that only updates the database when a new username is added. then at the same time let that script output the updated database content to a text file. and use that text file for the wallet to check and connect username vs address.

that file wont be big as there wont be millions of registrated users. so it wont be a big load or extra disk space for the wallet.

so basically add a username field in the wallet. when user adds his username and saves it it will be loaded into the database and the script creates an updated text file. load that file dynamically from the wallet and thats it.

just an idea though...this is how i would do it with a normal website.

also another suggestion that crossed my mind;

in the right menu it would be a nice addon if you can right click a username and choose from some options there. for example; send coins to that user, show trust score, and things like that. but maybe thats more handy when more functions will be added in future.

also if you work with a databse it would become possible to send private message to users who arent online. that would be great as well.

Oh one more thing i noticed while testing the chat. You cant use html to add an image which is not needed anyway but you can fuck up the screen by adding big width/height to image html tags like this:

Code:
<img src="http://navajopeople.org/images/navajo-woman-children.jpg" width="750" height="750" alt="test" />

you can even add a link tag that url to annoy people even more. the link doesnt work then but the huge image will be clickable.

i tried manipulating with css and javascript as well but that didnt work Smiley

maybe better to just remove most html code for usernames and chat.

cheers

758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Navajo Coin [NAV] -*New Wallet coming on Tuesday! 28/10* *NOW ON CRYPTSY* on: October 29, 2014, 09:32:38 PM
As mentioned, this is a Beta Client. Sometimes there are bugs which only become apparent when testing in real situations and we only want to include top quality code in the main wallet.

Please let us know if you find any bugs or feel there are features lacking and we will look at addressing these when we integrate these features into the next main wallet release.

Other things to note are that usernames are now unique on the server. If you try join with the same username as someone else, it will kick you from the server and ask you to choose another name. There are also some restrictions on the characters allowed in usernames. Also, "Chat" and "Server" are reserved names for the system.

Currently known bugs which we've found from our testing:

  • Scroll bar is ugly, needs better styling.
  • "User has left chat" message, causing new tab to open up if other user has already closed it.
  • links not opening browser in Private Message window, but working in main Chat window.
  • encryption to be added for Private Messages for better privacy

Please help us polish this feature before release to the main wallet by testing and helping us identify any issues.

When submitting feedback, please remember to include a good description of the issue as well as the steps required to reproduce the bug.

Restlessly yours,
Pakage.

1) User can press enter to send message. works
2) Log out button added to chat window. works
3) “remember me” check box added to login window to save user name works
4) Display time of post in the chat window  works
5) Posts are rate limited to 1 post per 3 seconds per user  works
6) Posts are limited to 300 characters  works

above worked perfectly

8 ) If a new message arrives when you’re not looking at the chat tab, the speech bubble will become green couldnt test
9) Private messaging between users has been added, double click on the user to open a chat with them couldnt test
10) If a Private message arrives when you’re looking at a different chat tab, the tab text will change to red couldnt test

I couldnt test the above (at least not in the normal way hehe) as there where no other users in the chat

7) links posted in chat are now clickable and launch default web browser  works
this works but if i just type www.google.com then it doesnt show up as a link in the chat

For the rest everything works great!

Some small suggestions:

- maybe an idea to add some emoticon options. so for example Smiley would change in a smiley
- it cant harm much but maybe an idea to add more reserved names like admin, root, superuser. and also for some html inserts and stuff like that.

for example if i enter the following usernames:

Code:
server:
then i get a output like: { "from": "server:", "is_server": "FALSE", "message": "h\n", "to": "Chat" }
Code:
<h1>
my name is invissible in left chat window and it outputs "has joined" in h1 mode Smiley

also i noticed that when i logged in and out again and again with above type of usernames then they wherent removed from the right menu anymore. so even when i was logged out it says they where online. So basically i could send private messages to myself lol.

I tried to do it again after a while and then it didnt work anymore. maybe the system got confused a bit by all my strange usernames, see screenshot Smiley

For the rest it looked ok.

cheers

Robin

someone dumped a nice load of nav today. no problem, but just dont understand why sell for such low prices? probably because he is to inpatience and it took to long for the price to go up. I can understand that as there isny much movement but still selling 1 btc for these prices is just throwing your money away. just wait a few weeks and that btc is probably worth at least 50/100% more.

The thing is... its already been a few weeks (months, even). I can understand why people at some point say enough is enough and start thinking damage control.
I agree its the worst possible time to sell. 200 has proved a hard limit on price drops, at least for now. But we also thought the same about 300 and 400 before that.

I have also observed that no amount of wallet updates or news about chat make a dent on the price.
My guess is that price will keep hovering roughly between 200 and 300 until we get an ETA for anon (or any news about it for that matter)
In the meantime, I'll keep making peanuts on the side taking advantage of those fluctuations

yeah true totally agree with that. people are waiting for the anon.

but although the price doesnt rice much everybody can see more and more poeple join the topic here and that there are regular updates. selling out of inpatience is probably the dumbest thing you can do. and looking at other coins which mostly all go down big time the last weeks there arent many other good investments at the moment. and holding your btc isnt a good idea either as that goes down each day as well.

but selling at 200sat..... its better to just see your coins as lost then sell for these dump prices. downside risks are almost zero (as long as coin doesnt die).

i would only sell at these prices if it was my last money Smiley

but im not complaining...it would be the last to complain if people dumping to 1sat, then i could buy a million for 0.1 btc hehe
