741  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Analyses on: December 07, 2023, 05:35:44 AM
True. Decisions should be made with all factors in mind. Just because the price seems bullish doesn't mean we should just make decisions without proper analysis.
But for those planning or thinking of buying Bitcoin and holding it for a long time, I'd advise they buy it now.
As you said, there's a possibility that there might be resistance at $41k - $42k (even though it's at $44k now), which means that could also be the lowest it would get, so it's better to just buy now instead of waiting and hoping for the price to drop because, in my opinion, it won't.

I don't think the Bitcoin price will go below $40k  and this is me not being too optimistic. We're in a bull run that is heading towards events that would push the price up even further. The bitcoin spot ETF might have a positive effect on price but not as much as the next Bitcoin halving.

So for now, I guess it's okay to apply caution, but we should also be ready to take some calculated risk. As long as you risk what you can afford to lose you'll be good
742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 06, 2023, 10:38:35 PM
I never doubted the capability of Unai Emery's Aston Villa but I least expected them to beat the Citizens.. and to think that they literally called all the shots to the point that Man City lost control of what they were doing and were forced to defend.
I said it one of my posts that if Man City could find it difficult to beat a club that's struggling like Tottenham Hotspur and instead settled for a draw, what will be the case for Aston Villa who are very fit this is the result.

What a performance by Aston Villa. This is on for the history books. They were excellent. Aston Villa knew exactly what they wanted and they executed it to perfection. It's one thing to win Manchester City, it's a whole different game to outplay Manchester City.

I lost my bet because I expected the game to have at least 3 goals but the game was too tight. When Aston Villa scored, I got confident a little because I was sure Manchester City would score too, and from there, more goals would come. Little did I know that Aston Villa had something else planned.
Playing Man City in this manner is a very big morale buster. They'll be very confident going forward now because they will believe they can win anybody in the league.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 06, 2023, 10:23:31 PM
I know how important it is for every team to have 11 players intact and here Sassuolo lost one of their players which caused their defense to become weaker. I don't deny that Roma's victory was lucky and if Sassuolo appeared with eleven players then it would end in disaster for Roma. The highest possible outcome of this match is a draw and losing seems impossible but I appreciate your opinion.

I doubt Roma would have been able to win against Sassoulo if Sassoulo had not gotten that red card. They might have gotten a draw but to win would have been so difficult. See how difficult it was for Roma to even equalize despite having an advantage of one extra man. They even needed a penalty to equalize.
Roman has a problem with scoring goals and when they meet a team that is disciplined at the back, it is difficult for them to break through.

Against Fiorentina will be another challenge for Roma and indeed Jose Mourinho's team is not completely stable and often has difficulty scoring goals. I will slightly favor Fiorentina to win but the possibility of a draw is still open. So I'm still thinking about the right option to place a bet on this match later considering the odds are so big.

It's a 50/50 match, but what's funny is that those kinds of games hardly end in a draw. Most times there's a winner. A lot of goals might not be scored because Roma is good defensively and Fiorentina won't let Roma score many goals.
If I had to pick ill pick Fiorentina to win.
744  Economy / Speculation / Re: The volatility volumes of Bitcoin is not the Will of man on: December 06, 2023, 08:20:51 PM
It wouldn't be an investment if it was controlled by men, would it? Even if it would be an investment, it won't be an advisable one to have.
Investments are controlled by the forces of demand and supply. It's the same thing with Bitcoin. It can be manipulated (even though it will only have a short-term effect) but it's still demand and supply.
When so many people are buying Bitcoin the price goes up, when so many people are selling, the price drops. All factors that affect the buying and the selling all leads to demand and supply.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulatory Ease Accelerate Bitcoin Adoption In Milei’s Argentina on: December 06, 2023, 07:33:18 PM
We have to establish a fact. The fact that a leader is pro-Bitcoin does not make him a good leader. He can be pro-Bitcoin just for the sake of votes.

Argentina's problem is not a problem Bitcoin can solve. Even if they make Bitcoin legal tender it won't change much. Bitcoin is not an economic savior. Some things are needed for a better economy.
Proposing to eliminate a central bank is not the way to go for me. The central bank is the best rock of every economy. How does he want to improve a centralized system without the central bank? I don't really know the full details of how things are on the ground in Argentina but eliminating the central bank is not a solution. The institution is not the problem but the greedy people running the institution.

748  Other / Meta / Re: Sanctioned Services and the service traceability to this forum, Any danger? on: December 06, 2023, 08:58:34 AM
Now, my concern is, wouldnt it make sense to remove the Sinbad escrow address from this forum? And also remove anything that could make it easy for authorities to trace transactions from that address to this forum, and it's users?

At this point, it's pointless to try to delete or remove anything relating to Sinbad simply because we're trying to outsmart the authorities. Don't you think it will look shady? Because believe it or not, the government already knows about this forum, they've seen everything already, they've seen the escrow and it has already been traced to this forum so what is the point in acting like Sinbad was never on the forum even though it was just in just an advertising campaign? Deleting everything related to Sinbad won't still make things difficult for the government, besides if they (sinbad) are truly criminals, should we be making it difficult for the authorities? Shouldn't we be cooperating with the authorities on how these criminals should be caught?

Is this forum not going to be in danger if authorities trace transactions with services they have sanctioned down to this forum?

Lol. Bold of you to assume it has not already been traced to this forum. We don't have anything to hide. This is not the first mixer on the forum that is having similar issues with the authorities.

Mixers would be out of the forum starting next year, I have my reservations about that decision but I can also try to see the bigger picture. Mixers bring in a lot of heat and the forum doesn't need that much heat.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you feeling FOMO like I am? on: December 05, 2023, 09:06:54 PM
Not really.
I always knew the Bitcoin price would be like this towards this time and I acted before now. Whatever Bitcoin I have now is the amount I can afford so there's no need to feel bad about it. Since the price was around $27k I predicted that Bitcoin would get to $35k - $40k before the end of the year and I was right. So I saw it coming.

My joy is that Bitcoin is even doing better than I expected. This makes me very hopeful for the coming year. If Bitcoin can get to 44k by now then we might see a new ATH by year if we're lucky.
750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price $45k by ending of 2023: AI prediction on: December 04, 2023, 08:20:58 AM
Also don't forget, there are many factors that could affect the behaviour of Bitcoin to be specific, and AI can't see the future of what would happen on the fundamental side of the market whether good or bad as part of such factors. So how could anyone believe what AIs say of Bitcoin? If possible it can know such, by now, we should have known what the SEC would decide upon on Bitcoin's ETF in January.

The thing about AI predictions is that they can't tell what humans can't tell. Every data they used to make that prediction was given to them by humans. Sometimes it is not updated data. I saw an AI predicts the winner of a sports competition but the AI didn't have the current data of that competition so it made predictions based on the previous year.

When an AI Is given the right data, it would make predictions based on the data it was given, and if all other factors remain constant, the prediction will be close (all other factors hardly remain constant) the difference is they're programmed to understand those data faster than humans.
In the case of this prediction on Bitcoin price this year, it wasn't far from the truth.

I made speculation earlier on this board even before the AI prediction that before the end of the year, Bitcoin will get to $35k - $40k and I was correct. So we can see that the AI didn't go too far from the reality. Bitcoin is at $41k right now and that's not very far from $45k. We know that predictions are never 100% certain.
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest the money to buy the land in Bitcoin. on: December 04, 2023, 07:10:23 AM
I know about investing in bitcoins and I know that there are risks involved, I am investing in the potential to grow money but I want to invest in bitcoins with the understanding that my money may go down due to market volatility.

As long as you understand how BTC truly works and you know all the risks involved then you can make your choices accordingly. Investment for the future is always a very good plan. I don't know what country you live in but since you've been saving that money for a very long time I'm sure it must have been affected by inflation.
You said you understand the risk but I'm still going to stress it, it's not going to be easy seeing your life savings going down. This can happen during a dip. Hopefully, this doesn't happen for a very long time because I'm very optimistic about Bitcoin for next year.

I'm more focused on where you decide to hold this money and your security.
Since you're holding for a long time and you're not a trader, please don't keep that money in a custodial wallet.
Save your money in a non-custodial wallet where you have the keys and the wallet is controlled by you.
Also, this is your life savings we're talking about, so please take conscious steps to take your security very seriously. Don't be lazy, it's better to take that extra caution and seem paranoid than lose a whole lot of money.

We're approaching a very bullish time in Bitcoin (hopefully), and there are going to be different forms of scams flying around in the name of investments. They're going to be very enticing and juicy offers, please don't fall for them. Research has shown that there are more crypto scams during a bull run so please don't fall for any of them.

754  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IDF are terrorists who bomb children in schools. on: December 02, 2023, 10:22:23 PM
Don't be on the neutral side, you're only helping the oppressors which is clearly the IDF

Don't you think taking sides is what has dragged this war on for so long? If everybody had condemned violent acts from the beginning do you think this war would be on today?

IDF attacks Palestine and Israelis and their supporters cheer.
Hamas attacked Israel and Palestinians and their supporters cheered.
And so the circle continues.

Israel has been an oppressor for long and they've had support from a set of people and countries. Palestine has also had support from certain countries and people. That is why the war will never stop.
I agree we shouldn't be neutral, when you're neutral it means you don't care, but we should condemn every violent and inhumane act committed by both parties.

IDF has to right to do what it's doing in Palestine.
We agree Palestine is the oppressed but because Palestine is the oppressed doesn't make it okay to kill Israelis because, at the end of the day, civilians will be victims.
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should altcoins be blamed? on: December 02, 2023, 08:38:35 AM
In as much as altcoins ruined their perspective of crypto, I think they're to blame for the loss they incurred. They were not forced to buy those altcoins. Some were persuaded and some didn't even need much convincing, and because they lacked understanding, they just dived head-first into it.
It's never advisable to invest in what you have no idea about. Some lost so much in Bitcoin and they left, do you also blame Bitcoin for that?
Crypto was preached to many of these people as the Messiah. A get-rich-quick scheme and that is where their failures started.

Despite how much I trust Bitcoin I don't just advise people to invest in Bitcoin, I try to make sure they understand what Bitcoin is. It doesn't mean they need to have all the technical knowledge of Bitcoin (even I don't have all the technical knowledge of Bitcoin) but they should understand how it works, what it is, and what it represents.
756  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 01, 2023, 06:41:45 PM
altcoins are centralized assets, while bitcoin is a decentralized asset,
Not all altcoins are centralized. Some altcoins are decentralized like Ethereum. The difference is you can't point out the actual person, people, or company that created Bitcoin but you can point out the people or company that own every other altcoin.

If you ask me I will say only buy Bitcoin but I see why latecomers are attracted elsewhere, there are other cryptocurrencies with unique features & potential for large growth.

I feel when it comes to long-term investment, Bitcoin is the ultimate. There are no single altcoins I'll comfortably hold for a very long time, but for a short-term investment, nothing wrong in banking on a few very well-researched altcoins.
757  Other / Beginners & Help / Treat exchanges the way you treat your casino accounts. on: November 30, 2023, 08:36:32 AM
It should be common knowledge by now that we're not supposed to leave our coins in an exchange, sadly it's not.

Some people feel we should ditch centralized exchanges altogether. I buy into that idea even though I've not fully stopped using them.

I don't quarrel with using centralized exchanges, my quarrel is with leaving your coins in them.

Those of us who gamble might get this better.
When dealing with your online casino accounts, you usually just fund them with the amount you want to use in gambling. It's usually funded from your bet accounts or wallet. You don't leave your winnings in that account. You withdraw them to your bank account or crypto wallet.

The same logic should be applied to your exchange account. Fund it with just the amount you want to trade or exchange. For traders, you can withdraw your profit into your wallet and leave only the amount you want to trade with.

We have an opportunity to have full control of our money. A system different from the traditional banking system, so what purpose is moving from the traditional banking system if you'll just end up keeping your money in a centralized exchange?
758  Economy / Economics / Re: China's real-estate sector is NOT doing well, it might bring whole economy down on: November 29, 2023, 09:50:34 AM
So I honestly don't believe anything coming from China. Not the good and definitely not the bad. You never know what's going in the background.

This is where I'm at.
We never really know what's really happening on the ground in countries like this. You see mainly what they allow you to see. A country filled with so much sensory. The citizens see mainly what the government wants them to see while the outside world sees only what the government wants them to see.

I see a lot of things and I know it's highly exaggerated. Like the "dollar will soon be worthless" talk.
People made it seem like the US dollar would be worthless in the coming year, but if you look deeper into it, the dollar was doing better than the Chinese yuan.
It's easier for people to poke holes in the US because it's easily accessible. In the sense that the data and on-ground situation of the US can be gathered relatively more easily but in the case of China, they just show you what they want you to see.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 28, 2023, 11:23:17 PM
PSG was just lucky, nothing more. A loss at home to a mid-tier team would've been devastating. Judging from this performance today from PSG, I'm not sure they'd go very far in the tournament.

PSG just couldn't get past the Newcastle defense. They lack so much creativity in the middle. Newcastle too were very composed and compact. The penalty awarded to PSG was not a penalty to me. That should not have been a penalty but it is what it is.
What's more worrying for PSG is that they couldn't win Newcastle over two legs, they could only manage a draw.

Now PSG needs to win their last game against Dortmund to qualify for the R16. If they fail to win Dortmund and either of Milan or Newcastle wins on the match day 6 then PSG would be heading to the Europa league.

760  Economy / Economics / Re: When Was the Last Time you Came Across a Positive Economic News? on: November 28, 2023, 10:30:42 PM
Well there's certainly a reason why we don't come across positive economic news all that often, and that's because sadly drama sells!  News outlets know that the more dramatic they make headlines, that more people will be enticed to read it.

This is something that we know to be fact, but in my country I don't think there's any positive economic news to report. Even if there was any positive news to report it would be so insignificant compared to the negative news, but take the little wins, right?

The government controls most, if not all the big news media companies, so every positive economic update done by the government would be reported immediately and even exaggerated. This will only deceive the people to believe the government is working when in reality, they're doing nothing.

We woke up one morning  to hear that unemployment rate has dropped to 4%. from over 20%. And this was reported on every news channel and every news paper. It was all over social media. It was a case of telling a lie till it becomes the truth. But in reality, unemployment rate is way over 20%.
