And just to note, I keep only a small portion of my balance in my Android wallet. This is to ensure the security of my funds because my mobile device is my daily communication tool.
So you are using a hot wallet with BlueWallet. You can also use it as a watch only wallet and monitor an xpub that derives from your hardware wallet. Basically BW is good because it allows multiple wallets. It has coin control and multiple other features. What I don't like however is that it is very unstable when connecting to my own node. |

2014 είχα κάνει πρότζεκτ να δώσω BTC με paper wallet σε ώρα διάλεξης και έκανα και μια καταγραφή οθόνης ως tutorial να έχουν όλοι έναν τρόπο να τα βγάλουν σε δικό τους πορτοφόλι με δικό τους private key. Το βίντεο αυτό το έστειλε ο καθηγητής σε όλους. Γύρω στα 20 άτομα είχαν λάβει BTC τα οποία τώρα αξίζουν $2500 όλα μαζί.
Μπράβο σου! Γενικά όσο απλό και να κάνεις κάτι, το bitcoin είναι τόσο διαφορετικό από τις παραδοσιακές πληρωμές που σχεδόν κανένας δεν το πιάνει με την πρώτη.
Δεν τους αδικώ ως προς αυτό. Κι εμένα το bitcoin για να το καταλάβω καλά μου πήρε πάρα πολύ καιρό και σκέψου έχω υπόβαθρο σε computer science. Εγώ έχω αναφέρει και σε άλλα topics πως ασχολήθηκα αργά με το bitcoin. Αγόρασα το 2018 BTC και ETH. Κάπου στο 2019 - 2020 άρχισα να διαβάζω και πραγματικά έπαθα πλάκα με το Bitcoin. Έτσι το 2020 το γύρισα σε BTC only. Ταυτόχρονα εδώ και περίπου 1 χρόνο δεν χρησιμοποιώ καθόλου kyc exchanges. Βήμα - βήμα χώνομαι όλο και πιο βαθιά. |

Θα ήθελα να αναφερθώ και σε αυτό. Όλοι λέμε πόσο απατεώνες είναι αυτοί, αλλά δε μιλάει κανείς για τους ανθρώπους που αγοράζουν τα άχρηστα tokens τους. Μπορούμε να τους ονομάσουμε αμαθείς, αλλά μέχρι πότε; Κάποια στιγμή, θα είναι απλά ανεύθυνο. Είναι ενήλικες, και έχουν την ευθύνη των οικονομικών τους. Συμβάλλουν στην χρηματοδότηση συνειδητά.
Εγώ δεν το αντιλαμβάνομαι αυτό. Πόσο εύκολη δηλαδή είναι η εξαπάτηση των ανθρώπων. Θα έδινα κοινωνική διάσταση στο θέμα. Η φτώχεια οδηγεί στην ανάγκη για εύκολες και γρήγορες λύσεις. Να επισημάνω εδώ πως λέγοντας φτώχεια δεν εννοώ πραγματική φτώχεια, αλλά απλώς το γεγονός ότι ζούμε "μήνας μπει, μήνας βγει". Δεν πιστεύω δηλαδή πως αφορά απληστία. Δεν περιμένω θαύματα και η ελληνική κοινότητα bitcoin να γινόταν πολιτοφυλακή ας πούμε, αυτό δεν γίνεται πουθενά. Αλλά τουλάχιστον στο εξωτερικό υπάρχει ένας αντίλογος σε κάθε απατεώνα. Εδώ απολύτως τίποτα. Ο κάθε ένας παπατζής δρούσε και δρα ακόμα ανενόχλητος ακόμη και τώρα που έχει χάσει τόσος κόσμος λεφτά. Δεν υπάρχει κανένας χώρος να μπορεί κάποιος να έρθει να πει να δείτε αυτό μου έφαγε λεφτά και είναι απάτη. Γιατί και εμείς δεν έχουμε δημιουργήσει τέτοιους χώρους ως κοινότητα.
Παιδιά έχουμε επικεντρωθεί νομίζω στο ότι η bitcoin κοινότητα δεν προστάτευσε τους συμπολίτες της από ponzi schemes. Θα ήθελα να ρωτήσω όμως, πόσους ανθρώπους έχετε καταφέρει να πείσετε να αποκτήσουν bitcoin σε self custody; όχι απαραίτητα με best practices (βλ. cold storage, multisig, coinjoins, p2p buying κλπ), αλλά έστω να έχουν εκείνοι την ευθύνη των κλειδιών τους. Εγώ προσωπικά έχω καταφέρει 4 άτομα να αγοράσουν bitcoin. Οι 2 από αυτούς έχουν αγοράσει HW και τους έχω συμβουλέψει σχετικά με το backup των seed phrases. Οι άλλοι 2 τα έχουν στη Binance... Τώρα το δεύτερο ερώτημα είναι σε πόσους ανθρώπους έχετε μιλήσει για το bitcoin και σας έχουν απορρίψει. Εμένα είναι υψηλό διψήφιο νούμερο σίγουρα. |

Όπως συζητήθηκε σε άλλο topic, η γνώμη μου είναι πως σαν ελληνική κοινότητα αποτύχαμε να διαδώσουμε το bitcoin.
Οι σκέψεις μου είναι πολλές, αλλά θα ηθελα να ξεκινήσει η συζήτηση και να παραθέσω τις ιδέες μου μέσα από το διάλογο.
Πάντως η εκτίμηση μου κυρίως πηγάζει από το ότι η πλειοψηφία των ανθρώπων στους οποίους μιλώ για το bitcoin φαίνεται να το τσουβαλιαζουν μαζί με όλα τα cryptos. Ταυτόχρονα, όπως εύστοχα επισημάνθηκε, οι περισσότεροι θεωρούν πως είναι τζόγος, βλέποντας το μέσα από συμβατικές οικονομικές παρωπιδες.
Πείτε μου λοιπόν γνώμες.
Λόγω πολλών υποχρεώσεων, θα συμμετέχω αυτή τη βδομάδα λίγο πιο ανενεργά, αλλά είμαι σίγουρος ότι θα παίξετε μπάλα σωστά όλοι οι υπόλοιποι.

When you say that instead of using different wallets, you can create different accounts which have the same seed phrases. I think the correct word for "Account" is the different wallet address as each wallet contains many different address ( if that is what you meant  ) No, I was refering to wallet accounts, as described in BIP-44, BIP-49 and BIP-84. When you import a seed phrase (12-24 words) into a software that generates a wallet, it will essentially create a large structure behind the scenes. The wallet is not just a private key and an address. It is an extended private key and an extended public key. Each of them generates a set of child keys. Then each child in the set generates another set and so on. Please observe this picture to understand what I say:  Having said that, you can create multiple accounts from the same entropy (aka seed phrase). Each account has its own unique set of addresses. Δυστυχώς παιδιά, σαν κοινότητα, έχουμε αποτύχει πάρα πολύ να εξαπλωθούμε στην Ελλάδα. Σε όσους αναφέρω τη λέξη bitcoin με κοιτάνε με μισό μάτι. Και η πιο συχνή φράση "αυτά είναι τζόγος...". Πριν μια δεκαετία ήμουν στο πανεπιστήμιο και είχα την τύχη ένας καθηγητής να μου μιλήσει για το bitcoin. Μάλιστα, επειδή έκανε "προστασία και ασφάλεια υπολογιστικών συστημάτων", έφτιαξε ένα παιχίδι bounty hunter, στο οποίο είχε βάλει στο desktop του ενα file (unprotected) με μέσα μια λέξη. Όποιος του έλεγε τη λέξη από το αρχείο, έπαιρνε 0.5 BTC σαν reward. (NAΙ! Καλά ακούσατε!) Ήταν κι αυτό μια προσπάθεια να μας εντάξει σε αυτό. Να μπούμε στη διαδικασία να φτιάξουμε wallet κλπ. Τώρα νιώθω σαν κανείς να μη μιλάει πια.
Όσο για τη μπάλα, πλάκα θα 'χει να μιλάμε για ομάδες, αλλά φοβάμαι πως μετά από μια βδομάδα θα βαρεθούμε να μιλάμε όλο οι ίδιοι και οι ίδιοι. |

Suppose you only use Bitcoin Core on a Linux distro because you don't trust anything else, and you want to meet with someone in person, and don't do the transaction until you meet, to exchange it for cash at the rate of the physical exchange, or for a product or service. The point is, you want to make the transaction there and can't do it from home. You cannot also carry your laptop.
Is there any handheld device that would make sense to use to do this transaction that doesn't stand out? Like one of these hardware wallets, that screams "punch this guy to get free BTC".
Is there any safe device that looks like a phone that runs Linux or something? I just don't know how one would do this, unless you resort to a regular Android phone. In this case, you are already trusting some flawed hardware and software. I don't need to make a big transaction, so I guess that would be ok, however im concerned from a privacy pov. I would mix the coins at home before transacting with the person using the Android wallet. In this case, what would you do? You need to stream the transaction somehow, so you are going to need internet, and let's say there's no public wifi.. so you are going to need a phone nonetheless.
Maybe having the phone as a router to connect wireless to this handheld device to make the transaction, and broadcast it through the internet data phone connection.. but how do you do this privately?
I don't see how I would do this. I would like how people do this.
According to the red text above, you are reluctant to use an android phone, because of privacy. As oeleo stated above, connecting to your own node will fix this issue. However, the best answer in my opinion is the one by BitMaxz. Sign the tx beforehand from your home. Take the tx id with you in any form you wish (android, paper, usb, sd card). There, you can broadcast the tx, or you can even give it to them to broadcast it. The broadcasting of a signed tx is a feature available in almost every wallet software. |

The mixing feature seems interesting to me. I would love to try that as well. I don't know how it works but I have used several Bitcoin mixer websites before. Does the mixing feature same as like mixing service websites?
Not really. The mixing services websites like the one in my signature facilitate the process but the keep it under the hood. So essentially you just send to an address that the website provides you and you put a receiving address where you receive the mixed funds. Now in regards to Whirlpool, it is very well explained in their docs https://docs.samourai.io/whirlpoolSo grab a cup of coffee and with some patience, you will eventually get there. Personally I mainly use whirlpool with my sparrow wallet which has it plugged in. But since the op question was about mobile wallets, I can't recommend it in this topic. |

That is what that is called 'cancel a transaction'. It is also replace-by-fee. Like in Electrum, if you click on cancel transaction, the transaction would be replaced by another one in which the transaction is sent back to an address on your wallet. Also very possible you can send it to another address, but wallet do not include that feature but it is possible.
You can actually double spend an unconfirmed transaction without RBF and you can also do that with RBF. But the problem is most full nodes will reject it because it nonstandard, that’s why the most accepted form is the RBF which is why most wallets support it. When you actually double spend either with RBF or not both transaction exists only after one gets confirm first (mostly the one with higher fee) and the other one becomes invalid.
Hang on guys. I realise I must have been misunderstood. I was wondering specifically about the text in red colour by Charles-Tim. I think that most wallets don't support it. When you select a utxo to be part of a tx and you broadcast it, then it can't be selected again, unless for RBF, which by default I think means sending again to the same output address. |

Are you sure you can do that? I think in sparrow if a utxo is part of an unconfirmed transaction it can only be used for RBF or CPFP but it can't be spent in another tx. I think so |

I believe samourai to be one of the best wallets out there in terms of connectivity to own node. I have tried connecting it to my dojo node and it worked flawlessly. Apart from that it supports coin control which is a must for me. And it also has a built in implementation of whirlpool mixing.
The only problem I had was that I couldn't maintain more than one wallets simultaneously. Am I wrong?

So let's say I create an airgapped Sparrow wallet, set it up to be a coinjoin wallet so it creates the usual four accounts, and then from my hot Sparrow wallet mix coins directly to the xpub of the cold postmix account. A year later if I bring that cold Sparrow wallet online, then the previously coinjoined UTXOs will already be in the postmix account. Would Sparrow detect that and allow me to continue to coinjoin them?
I will try it and I will update this post as soon as I have an answer. |

Shouldn't the software know how to generate the individual private keys based on the seed you imported into it? Have you tried importing a master private key or individual private keys (if it's possible) to see if you will be able to sign the transactions then?
No I have only tried importing the seed phrase to the existing wallet. Obviously you can start a new wallet (hot software wallet) and start fresh adding the seed phrase. This can potentially work. I expect the utxos to be in the deposit account. If they are there then of course you can coinjoin a bit more |
