This is a public forum filled with people with different perspectives and from different places, so one thing I found helpful is that what you feel like is offensive or insulting might just be a way that person communicates from there side. So just like i have read other members say, one needs to grow a very thick skin here but if you continue to get upset by the way some members communicate then it would be best to actually ignore them, that is if you also are not repeating a mistake all round that got everyone pissed like creating multiple threads without any proper information or any thing substantial and help in them
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Secure Your Legacy, Educate Your Loved Ones on: September 21, 2023, 06:32:38 PM
Nice thread OP, we usually take things for granted because we feel we are health and death wouldn’t come anytime soon. But that is not true it can come anytime soon. As such of a bitcoiner has some investment  in bitcoin they shouldn’t keep it to themselves and should share the recovery seeds with their children, Kins or trusted allies, just like the Death Will is updated regularly bitcoin seeds should be updated on it also once purchase  some.

If you have plans of them not spending the coins till your stipulated period then just use the lock time process and set to your desired date.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 20, 2023, 10:10:16 PM
Barcelona have issues with La Liga FFP rules unfortunately so they aren't able to spend a lot of money for transfers for now. This was why they couldn't sign Joao Felix permanently.

However this is still not a problem for Barcelona currently. Because their current performance level is quite satisfying. They have just destroyed Antwerp in the Champions League by a big gap. I felt like we were in good old days of Barcelona.  Grin  Felix is really impressive since he joined them. He is playing for his dream team of course. I have never seen him this ambitious.  Smiley

The lad is definitely enjoying is time at Barcelona and this is the player we all knew from his benfica days. If you ask me I would put it out that I am not that surprised with his form because he had it. It was just a the club he went to that doesn’t fit his profile. Atletico Madrid is a club that plays defensively and flourishes on counter attack, the pattern of play by Simeone’s men require players that have such energy in them to track back and move forward when needed but we all know that Felix isn’t at that level physically had that is why he had a fell out with Simeone.

I see Barcelona signing him permanently if he continues with his recent form. Although Barcelona are having trouble with financial Fair play they would pull something out. For the past three seasons now Barcelona have been in this situation and have miraculously been buying players which I think is fishy
744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No matter the pressure don't release on: September 20, 2023, 09:58:42 PM

I don't believe that the bank was someone able to solve and transfer your money the balance reflect in your account in 10 minutes after not being able to do in 2 days, you said he had proven that he had sent the payment with documents, by chance can you compare the proofs with the current transfer as I tend to believe that as in many cases he didn't pay at all the first time and only under pressure and maybe because of a good fluctuation in exchange rates he agreed to do so!
I can't really tell if he never did or did the transaction the first time. But from the alert I received I can see two different dates 14/09/2023 which is the first day of the transaction,  and the second date 15/09/2023 was the day I received the payment.

He definitely didn’t pay the first time, he just came up with a fake transaction receipt, if OP had actually copied the transaction ID on the re receipt and contacted his bank with that information they would have told you that the transaction didn’t exist then. This case are very common on centralized exchanges so do not believe any documents sent to you with the fake promise that is bank error not allowing the transaction to reflect on your account. It is easier this days to get a fake transaction receipt of any bank
745  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Simple Reason Why Bitcoin and Crypto Prices Must Fall to Zero on: September 20, 2023, 09:32:19 AM
It's funny how all responders here ignore the argument at hand and just write stuff completely unrelated to it. The argument talks about the difference between speculative and real demand. The usual crypto propaganda for attracting speculators cannot refute it. The difference between speculative and real demand is so simple to comprehend that there is no need to say anything more than what was said in the opening post. Let alone respond to all those ad hominem and non sequitur comments.

What is real demand? Certainly a case where people or investors go after that thing. Bitcoin because I wouldn’t generalized it as cryptocurrency has grown in price simply because of people wanting it. The Number of users or adopters are massively increasing isn’t that a demand. Now talk of fiat currency, what makes other currency more superior than the other ones, it is simply the same demand thing. Bitcoin can be use to pay for debts since that’s the only attribute you listed about fiat if only their is agreement to use it to pay for such same thing as other commodities can also be used for clearing debts.

Yuh said something about bitcoin not been used in history, their is time for the start of everything just like how cowries where over throne by some printed papers ( fiat) and also just like the way internet was perceived not to have value, bitcoin is growing in strength.

Here's a thought: you opened an account on Bitcointalk because you saw value in doing so.

Probably to get attention and his pissed no one is giving that to him.
746  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All newbies should be aware. on: September 19, 2023, 09:55:26 PM
There are so much risks on joining several airdrops and the benefits to match the risk isn't worth it. Phishing links can be sent in such airdrop emails, airdrops are means scammers uses to entice unsuspecting victims although this is not to say that some airdrops aren't legit, some are legit.

But you can try to limit your risk and get a special email address you only use to join in on airdrops and you make sure to have antivirus, 2FA on your device for additional protection to be secured.

In the early days of altcoin projects it is through airdrops that they spread the news of the coin. Once many people get a few token they tend to focus on that project and this way some could even invest into it. This way the community of the project increases. This was the aim of airdrops during the early days of cryptocurrency but right now this airdrops are strategies by scanners to get into once wallet. Immediately an airdrop demands purchasing gas fee then it is likely a scam. Another is the linking of once wallet directly to the site of the project doing the airdrop.
747  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The best way to use fingerprint to unlock your bitcoin wallet on Android on: September 19, 2023, 06:41:34 PM
This isn’t possible with iPhone later than XR because they don’t support fingerprint.

This idea is a bit tricky because I think you need another app called the app lock to be able to use this procedure you stated. If it is so, isn’t it a very bad idea to have you wallet embedded into another app again. You never know what details that could be exposed to the app lock
748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Just HODL But HODL Wisely and Securely on: September 19, 2023, 04:20:56 PM
One of the key things or elements before one starts to hold is the security of the wallets, many new investors actually do not pay much attention to this and lose their funds in that process. Both long term and short term holders need to use a reputable and widely accepted wallets. This is one of the reasons why many experienced investors are of the general opinion that wallets that are not connected to the internet are usually the best for holding.

Many newbies find it difficult to settle for a particular wallet, although they are new Wallets that with exciting features but my preferred choice is always old tested and proven wallets that many users have attested to, rather than a new wallet without proper or much review
749  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed Transaction on: September 18, 2023, 09:43:24 PM
Are you recommending copying the destination address and amount and pay from the wallet instead of clicking the wallet option from the site ?

Yes it will be better to write the receiving address into the website rather than connecting them together. One more thing be careful of the way you copy and paste, there is also clipboard malware that is becoming very common now. So even when you copy make sure you’re pasting the right thing by going thoroughly through it
750  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed Transaction on: September 18, 2023, 09:28:26 PM
Probably the number of confirmation might be the issue. My major concern is you moving straight from the website to electrum wallet which means you have connected that wallet to the site. For security purpose it is a bad thing and if possible you need to take your funds off that address because it is expose to online website and can easily be compromised
751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Is Bitcoin Price Increasing? on: September 18, 2023, 06:33:08 PM

Where are the market sentiments affecting the market gradually, and where is the narrative support behind it? I can ask plenty of questions on it as the topic doesn't hold any semantic and substantial load in it. I may have admired the post if OP had mentioned some recent developments that might get skipped from many other users, any on-chain activity report, and anything that should at least meet the time zone.

The points listed by OP are just general observations used to explain to a newbie why bitcoin has increased but this can’t be the actual point at this moment. Things like market sentiment or even the news that Mt.Gotx are ready to return investors hacked funds could have been better in this particular case. Not so many cases I would say that is causing the move that warrant a thread other than side way movement by investors either selling or buying due to the up coming halving
752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not banned, yet not accepted on: September 18, 2023, 08:17:26 AM
There are several layers to "ban." People cant use cryptocurrency as much when their government doesnt let local banks control cryptocurrency deals. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies work without banks. Although restrictions, it does not completely prohibit individual owning or making p2p transactions.

Exactly ban is very different from restrictions, banning is when the government is seriously stern against it like banning of its mining and also setting aside punishment for anyone who engages in it. But for restrictions it will simply ‘hey we the government don’t want to associate with the stuff and also the banks shouldn’t but if you choose to it is at your own risk’ this way it is restricted to been used publicly but not banned to be used by individuals just that they carry the risk them selves. Although when there is restrictions I would advice one to be cautious of using it because if the government one day turns to ban it, those using it publicly during restricted days will be at danger
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is very safe coin because of good developers on: September 17, 2023, 09:02:52 PM

Bitcoin network is truly decentralized but I disagree that the Bitcoin technology does not depend upon developer. The fact that Bitcoin's innovations and development relies on the developer, it is clear enough that Bitcoin relies on the developer to continue to evolve.

Bitcoin's fundamental is decentralized blockchain and we should be at least thankful to the developer that they keep it that way though some thinks that it does not hold the truth 100% especially during the argument of blocksize.

About Bitcoin being unhackable, it is an overstatement, Bitcoin is a technology and it als has its own flaws.  It was exploited on its early years but after that incident, the Bitcoin security had never been breached.

The clear message will be bitcoin doesn’t depends on a specific developer that without the developer nothing will happen like how centralized bodies or protocols are. It is rather a technology that remains open that just any one can contrite

Also on the issue of hack bitcoin is almost unhackable most of the breaches found today are not direct but rather it is the platforms used for it, like wallet or exchanges are easily hacked

754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency beats having faits at every point on: September 17, 2023, 06:52:26 PM
As for my favorite reason for choosing Bitcoin over fiat currency, it's the sense of control and potential for growth that it offers. Plus, I'm in good company here, so feel free to share your thoughts too! 😊

The hedge against inflation is my second most favorite advantage of it against fiat currency. With this one can hold on to an asset that doesn’t depreciates and it is not hard to get like precious metals with similar advantages. The ability to also transact without having to covert from one currency to another is also important advantage.

My only advice is one to invest not all ones money into it so that you can hold on for longer time. Rushing to withdraw your bitcoin after investing everything into it all the time of emergency is bad
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is it possible to accelerate this transaction on: September 17, 2023, 06:18:29 AM
So whats the maximum amount of time it could possibly sit there before it gets sent back or is confirmed or is that not really a thing that can be predicted ?

Ideally it is 14 days by default but there some conditions that could still keep it there more than that time. One is if the wallet or sender doesn’t continually rebroadcast the transaction, but if they do then it will certainly take more time. Secondly is since node’s mempools receives transaction in different Time it will also take different Time to drop it and also the size of the pools are different and as such some will keep it beyond that time
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is it possible to accelerate this transaction? on: September 17, 2023, 06:04:34 AM
Unfortunately im not and someone else said nothing can really be done because it is only a segwit transaction so al i can really do is wait idk how true that is either. Im the receiver but it is on my cashapp wallet.

Since it is cash app you are receiving into them from your end you cannot do anything because it is not a non-custodian wallet that allows transaction bumping. The only way is if the transaction is not from an exchange and the wallet of the sender can actually bump the transaction you can simply ask him to or better still double spend your the transaction again from there but if it is an exchange sorry nothing can be done, you may have too wait and hope they don’t continue to rebroadcast the transaction with such low fees.

someone else said nothing can really be done because it is only a segwit transaction so al i can really do is wait idk how true that is either.

That is not true, you cannot do anything because you’re using a wallet that doesn’t support any bitcoin bumping feature, it is not because you’re using segwit address or receiving on legacy address that is the problem. But the sending and receiving wallet are the problem.

In the future try to use a wallet that supports bitcoin bumping to avoid cases like this.
757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 15, 2023, 11:02:09 PM
Leverkusen performance under the coaching of Xabi Alonso is really great in getting points, they are very consistent this season, they succeeded hold Bayern Munich to a draw which is a positive signal for their squad at next. Previously, I also not too sure that Leverkusen could hold Bayern Munich to a draw, because Bayern Munich have many good strikers at there, and it was believed that Leverkusen would lose but Leverkusen defense really a great.
Also, Leverkusen lucky got a penalty and can be perfected very well by Palacios, if Palacios can't scored then Bayern Munich could secured the three points. But at least this result is very worthy for both teams, they shared the points on matchday 4. Leverkusen must continue to get three points in every match, if not then Bayern Munich have a big chance to taking over the top position.

Such a very entertaining match with both teams going toe to toe with each other sincerely speaking Alonso is building one hell of a team here. Their transition football was what I was in awe of and of Bayern Munich should be scared of the league tittle this season then Bayer Leverkusen is the team they should be scared of. The game looks like a proper title deciding match. Bayern much would certainly feel hard done by the referees decision to award that last minutes penalty, he didn’t even checked the foul on Musiala but Leverkusen did deserve a point
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: My Bitcoin transaction has been stuck in the mempool for two weeks please help! on: September 15, 2023, 10:31:41 PM
Sadly with just 9sat/vbyte you can’t get your transaction processed and even looking a the mempool it is like the Wallet used to make this transaction wasn’t RBF enabled and doesn’t support bumping of the transaction. Can you import the seed of the recipient address into maybe electrum wallet if you’re using desktop or BlueWallet for mobile device to probably use the CPFP method.

You can somehow try to accelerate your transaction using viabtc accelerator, but you might have to pay (which I don’t know the amount) because your transaction is larger to been accelerated using the free service.

759  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin related words in simple terms on: September 15, 2023, 10:21:46 PM
People mistake lightning with lightening. The bolder is the right word to use for Bitcoin in Bitcoin lightning network, as in lightning network but reading through some post, it's annoying when people use the first one from the image which is wrong.

I don’t get the reason why you would get annoyed for such a thing as spelling mistake. This is a large forum that comprises of people from different languages and as such the non English speakers would definitely make mistakes like this. The two words might be different but clear when it used in this forum or related to bitcoin then you certainly should know what the writer means. So if it see any big thing about this
760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interview questions on Bitcoin for newbies. on: September 15, 2023, 09:04:08 AM
This kind of questions have definitely been treated here before since this is a bitcoin discussion forum.
And the way your thread goes I don’t understand maybe it is kind of a question or you want to also share a knowledge. But if it is the later then be rest assured that it has been treated already.

If it is the former then I would refer you to this bitcoin mastering book and also to this site called learnmeabitcoin.com
