743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 08, 2023, 11:49:04 PM
I think Anthony was a bad deal and a huge flop for Manchester United, the club already regrets the huge fee spent on acquiring Anthony. Erik Ten Hag will be kicking himself in the foot for his decision to spend big on Anthony’s acquisition, he should have invested that amount on two better players who are eager for recognition and winning games.

I just find it somehow when people blame mangers for the club spending huge on a certain player, Anthony was Ten Hag’s first priority target for the right wing position I don’t fault him one bit because Anthony was the best at that position when he was with him at Ajax so he told United he wanted the player. United hierarchy on the other went on to delay the negotiations as they do till the transfer window was almost shut and Ajax placed a 100 million euros on him to chase United away but they still went ahead. So I don’t see where the huge fee is Ten Hag’s problem here, they could have gotten Anthony for 45m when he vetoed.

Also I don’t blame much on the player this season, with the rape case he has had I doubt any player would have returned to same state of mind. United seriously need him maybe until Amad, because he is the best right winger available
I dont see it as something wrong. When you go for a good player, you will surely see the performance in the peach and if he doesn't perform well all blames goes to the player and the manager. Look at Arsenals signing. Declan Rice, he has contributed d to the progress of the team and his impact as a new player is felt. He has brought something new to the team. I actually watched his speech today after the game against Sevilla.
Listen to what he said on Arteta his manager.

“We love it. You see how passionate he is, sometimes he gets criticised for how he is on the sidelines but he’s living the game through us. He’s so energetic and the way he speaks, he’s like a teacher the way he is in the changing room with us.”

I was actually informed about this particular message you're passing right now, thank you so much we the newbie will definitely take note.
One thing you should take very seriously is to not always forget what you have learnt so far and don't forget the information that has been passed across to you. So many persons that were banned from the forum have been aware of plagiarism and they still go ahead to do i So if you were corrected on a particular error or something wrong you should always have it at the back of your mind That is the easiest way to grow and become a better member of the forum.
745  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie, don't joke with these key fundamentals on: November 08, 2023, 11:35:01 PM

Remember that this is not your regular social media so be as professional as possible.

I don't know if we need to be professional or not, but I do know that this is a discussion forum and all we need to do is discuss. In one topic we may be good because we have good knowledge in that topic but sometimes our comments may not be good because we don't know the topic. I think that's a natural thing. I agree with you that we should not plagiarize as it is a forum ban and also a copyright violation

I just try to be myself and discuss as far as I can. As long as we don't break the forum rules then it's fine and there's no need to be professional because this is not part of the job.
I agree with you. I believe that professionalism should mostly be done by adhering to the rules and regulations of the forum. This is because it's a forum designed for discussions and opinions. Replies can come in various manners, some might hurt your emotions, while others will definitely brighten your moments. If the platform is strcitly on professionalism the people will not be able to express themselve as there will be too much show case of superiorism.
746  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 08, 2023, 11:21:03 PM
it's funny that some persons will wait for moments when they see bitcoin price going up before the thought to invest in bitcoin comes to there mind and like you rightly pointed out, bitcoin price can go up and then up, up and then down, down and then down and so on. so you can't just predict that because it is going up now , this is absolutely the time to invest into bitcoin and when you see the price going down you retreat from your plan on making the investment. It means that if you even successfully make the investment, you can't hodl your bitcoin because in the event of any fluctuation in price, you will let go of your investment.

Real investors sees the prospect of bitcoin and invest a certain amount and leave it for quality amount of time while he monitor the price without getting seriously moved by any fluctuations in price that comes along the way.

When bitcoin prices are high, anxiety and fear of missing out usually lead some people to consider investing in the bitcoin. They are motivated by the belief that if they invest now while bitcoin is rising, it will continue to increase and they will profit from it without considering the possibility that the crypto market could quickly go from being sweet to bad.

Instead of focusing solely on the current price, whether it is high or low, every crypto investor should set a long-term price target that will help them determine when to purchase and when to sell for a profit.

Oh! this is a bad approach to invest in Bitcoin. People who rush into buying Bitcoin when the price starts rising is endangering his/her investments. Because he is tempted to go all in, after considering that they would miss out and the idea is that at that current price, he feels it is the lowest price and the way the price is rising he is expecting 20x 100x or more. That user has been deceived by the volatile movement of Bitcoin. Because the same speed it uses to rise it can use that same speed to go lower.

If you buy a large amount when it is on the rise and you get some X profits over a short time, it may seem like a wise decision. However, when you look at the growth over the year you realize it was just some fractions of the overall poential of Bitcoin. The real deal remains when you continue to hold for long. At times it depends on your risk tolerance that a person chooses to buy with anxiety, but I have found the most relaxing path is to put some income in weekly or bi-weekly. You can also buy a bit more when a dip presents itself as a good opportunity. This way, you view dips as chances for growth rather than a thinking it is a wrecking moment.
747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 08, 2023, 10:51:38 PM
If Manchester United does not win against Copenhagen at home they will find it very difficult to qualify for the round 16 in the Uefa Champions League because I do not think they can beat Galatasaray at home easily.
Yeah actually Manchester United is not a team you can easily rely on, there performance is very poor I no that they were playing with short one because of the red card giving to Rashford but still they were winning from first half till 69 minutes with 2-3 but I don't know how they allowed Copenhagen to equalize and win them 4-3.

Well checking there previous wining statistics whenever they meet is always that the home team normally wins the away team because considering there last meeting Manchester United was playing from home and won Copenhagen 1-0 and the pattern repeated it self again today by Copenhagen wining them from home however the only difference is that Manchester United had  the upper chances of winning the match today but they miss the opportunity.
I won't say their performance were poor today. There is something that the team lacks. Something crucial that they neglected which is team work and team spirit. This is one basic thing that helps a team to be successful together. but the Manchester United players act like they don't know this basic things Nah...I can't Blame the coach for this failure. Nah.. i wont blame him.

I watched the game throughout... they don't know how to defend properly. How can a team like Manchester united struggling with Copenhagen. Am really disappointed.
748  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Whats your target of achievement in bitcoin in next year on: November 08, 2023, 10:39:49 PM
Everyone have a target and if you don't have a target you will not achieve your goals, and if you allow 2024 to come first before you began to think of what you achieve inside 2024 I think is a wrong plan of thinking and sometimes another thing will make us to deviate from what we are often to achieve. Myself I think that our brothers that registered newly this will make them to think of what to do and what not to do as their plan to achieve betterment in the forum.

Let me start by reviewing my small plans in 2024 but I will not review all at least some of them if it will reach up to two, because our people said that we should think for the future and also documents our plans should in case if we are not opportune to make use of our plans and any other person who view our plans can work on it for its benefits.

Accumulating of bitcoin: this is my first plan in 2024, because I seen that many of us praise bitcoin but we don't have more of bitcoin, why some people from other locals boards have thousands of bitcoin.

What strategies can be use to accumulate a bitcoin: this is another thing we should think of in bitcoin accumulations, some of us do not buy bitcoin when the price is low but they buy bitcoin when the price is increasing, the best time to accumulate your bitcoin is when is in DIP and when it rise you get high numbers of bitcoin.

At least this is one of the plan I have next year no matter bullrun or bearish manifest and I will like us to outline our plans we have in bitcoin in next year
As a newbie that wants to invest and accumulate in Bitcoin, it's best you start buying it when the price is low, but if the price high, you can buy it bit but by bit for the amount you can afford in 2024, so between the beginning of the year to the middle, you've accumulated certain amount, but then keeping up it with the plans is another issue if your not strong willed.
Newbies will only have a safe investment when they buy on dip or DCA some percentage of their monthly earnings weekly to Bitcoin. It will take up to 3 to 4 years to have at least 1 Bitcoin if a regular DCA of 100k Naira is invested in Bitcoin. So you see how far to go, unless the plan is not to accumulate up to 1 BTC. My point is if a newbie continues to wait till when the price is low, he might not be able to buy any Bitcoin throughout a long period of time and before you know the year will run out without accumulating any Bitcoin and those money kept while waiting for the low price will be spent unknowingly for something no worth it.

750  Other / Meta / Re: PROPOSAL FOR NAIJA (NIGERIA LB) SUB-BOARDS CREATION on: November 08, 2023, 11:49:02 AM
If the board is spam, it will be muted, locked. Locals can continue their spamming before the board is locked.

Use report to report spam posts because it's responsibility of local members who ask for the local board.

The board is in English and global moderators, current moderators who can use English can moderate it. All moderators in Bitcointalk can use English well and all of them can do this.

I think it's a great idea to get local moderators to moderate the board. Despite that the board uses English language as a language, it also uses what we call the Pidgin English. Pidgin English is a lingua franca that is a mixture between English language and other African languages. Pidgin is widely spoken in Africa and every country in the continent has its peculiar style of speaking in Pidgin. For instance, the style in which a Nigerian speak Pidgin English is different from Ghana or Cameroon despite their closeness in borders.

Nigerian Pidgin is blend with other major indigenous tribes in the country such as Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo. So, most at times, it takes an indigenous speaker to understand the conversation between them and communicate. Likewise, it will take a local moderator to be able to effectively monitor the conversations in the board as well as sort the threads in the proposed child boards.

An English moderator is not a bad idea but for a more effective moderation of the board, you need a local or native moderator.
You have spoken well and provided further explanations for better understanding. When it comes to selecting a moderator for a board or sub-board, there are pros and cons to consider. You need to trust who you are selecting and how well they have contributed to the development of the local board. Additionally, it should be someone who is not afraid to speak out, preferably someone with a history of addressing issues they believe are wrong or not handled properly in the local board.

Having a local moderator is more preferable, as you mentioned. The person should be fluent in both good English and African Pidgin and should be able to relate to African culture, beliefs, and a way of life. Time zone is also important. It's best to know the moderator's available hours for moderation.

752  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: November 08, 2023, 09:18:37 AM
I really want know if getting more degrees can make life financially better because I come from a country where their are no job and I have seen people that the only thing they can do in life is to read books, getting more degrees attaining all these degrees yet no still go job for them with good pay. Do think people who read in a region with slim job opportunities are doing the right thing?
Indeed, education is very important, but it is not a criterion for success. A person can make money from different source which is not related at all to his academic discipline. One thing i must say is that academic knowledge helps to manage wealth. After having all the wealth if you don't have good knowledge on calculations; simple algebraic and arithmetic, statistics and probability then it may hinder your progress. Also, if you lack communication skills and writing skills then it would be worst. So, this is the reason why educations are important for any pursuit in life.

754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 07, 2023, 10:47:21 PM

I think it will be difficult for any team to match and beat them but although I feel the los Blanco's can try as that team is also certainly on another level with the inform wizard Bellingham but for that match to play out we will have to wait for them in the knock out stages.

Despite I believe in football anything can happen meaning that any team can win , I still have up 70% assurance that the team that will defeat Manchester city in this going champion league will be team that will have more experience in champion league, despite even De-bruyne is not currently presently in the squad. If possible it is club like Real Madrid I am also expecting or bayern Munich but others I don't think can win Manchester city.

Indeed, AC Milan against PSG is the match of the night, very entertaining like you said and with a touch of surprises. Who would have imagined that PSG will have a hard time with Milan tonight with the later already leading with two goals to one at the fifty seventh minutes following the goal from Olivier Giroud.

PSG was the favorite team I predicted to win the game before the match started but doing the match the way ac Milan was performing i later change mind that if ac Milan was not able to win I think they should be able to draw especially the way their attack was going. Seriously I was really very impressed by ac Milan performances and this how I want the group stage to look challenging.
You predicted PSG to win but Millan took the lead when Giroud scored the last goal. It looks like a must win for Millan if they want to qualify in this group stage. I think it is a bold step they have taken, dureing their next match they will surely fight for a win as well so that they can qualify. What a game well played by both teams, but favour came ini for Millan and PSG was unlucky for the night.
755  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 07, 2023, 10:02:32 PM
I don't know what any of that means, because the article that he wrote was from 2011, and so maybe he was denying the whole of bitcoin since 2011.. but at the same time, supposedly he got a bitcoin/crypto course in 2016.. so yeah, nay sayers will sometimes have several touching points with bitcoin, including sometimes changing their minds and/or changing their chosen allocations..
This is why it is crucial to avoid believing everything the Bitcoin preachers say online (Blog site, YouTube, X and more). Most of those sayers are seeking attention and followers. Sometimes, their posts and articles can be misleading and may cause you to change your initial perspective of Bitcoin, which was correct. Consider the scenario, where Nicholas wrote an article stating that Bitcoin should be avoided, but after a few years, he changed his stance and started learning about Bitcoin. There is no point looking up to random individuals who haven't accomplished much in the Bitcoin world and say, "Oh yeah, that's my role model"? That's what some people do. No one knows what the future holds for Bitcoin, and once we realized that then we won't listen to the sayers and preachers anymore.

I was really having a problem identifying the dip, and the best time to buy more. Since the bitcoin is high in volatility. I noticed that the more I wait for the lowest price it goes up and down. I kept waiting for long and I never achieved anything instead I started using the money to buy some economic needs at the end I will end up not buying as I anticipated.
As a beginner who just start investing on Bitcoin I don't think looking for the right dip before investing on Bitcoin is the right decision because you could end up not investing on Bitcoin at all, but however one of the challenges of most beginners is that they always feel that price of Bitcoin has gone way beyond there reach, on the contrary it doesn't work that way because you could accumulate Bitcoin with any amount you feel is well suitable for you.

I totally agree with you, Salahmu. Simultaneously, waiting for the dip to occur, Bitcoin will continue to set new records, whether on the upside or the downside. It can be somewhat of a waste of time, especially for new investors. This is because, in the process of waiting for the dip, it requires luck to catch it, and a lot of time and energy will be dedicated to it. This efforts can be exacted in regular DCA and even you can wait for the dip why DCAing.

756  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How Many Child Boards do We asked? on: November 07, 2023, 08:50:53 PM
However, I see no reason why there will be an off-topic board in our local board because I have seen an off-topic board already so there will be no need for us to have another off-topic section in our local board.
Anyone who wants to post an off-topic there out comment should just go to the off-topic board and do what he or she want to do, besides there is no moderator at the off-topic board and that means anyone can post any kind of trash things he or she like (that's why it is called an off topic board).
So I am trying to conclude that there is no need for us to have an off-topic  section on our local board, if we do have such a board (off topic) it will be like we are not serious at all.
I am not too regular on this forum but with my little time here, this is what I can conclude out of my own instincts.
You sure say you understand weting you they talk before you start to write am here. Post in off topics are post that were moved there because they were irrelevant to the discussion and so concluded to be off topic. You don't go the off topic board and make a thread. Who does that?
757  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Na Book dey kill black man on: November 07, 2023, 08:34:09 PM
The white men said that if you want to hide the truth from a black man hide it in a book. But it is actually the opposite now. A lot of things we practise and follow are from the books we read and these books some were written by the whites and some black men. The thing is whether white or black knowledge is knowledge. It doesn't matter the source where it is coming from. There shouldn't be any discrimination of color especially when it comes to the interaction between one another. The earth is like a user interface and it needs to be interactive for full functionality.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 07, 2023, 08:08:42 PM
During 1st game Dortmund beat Newcastle with 1 goal and today which is the 2nd game they won Newcastle with 2 goals. Dortmund is now at the top of their group followed by PSG. We can now attest to the fact that PSG and Dortmund will be the team to qualify in group F. However I don't want to conclude because PSG vs Millan id currently active who knows if Millian might win PSG and come up second in the group. There is a saying it's not over untill it's over. Let's see how it ends
759  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Newbies that seizes to learn and acting professional on: November 07, 2023, 07:52:08 PM
I don't know why it is concluded that newbies are the ones flooding the local board with irrelevant topics and comments alone. This is something that should be addressed generally regardless of rank or status. I have seen higher members with less quality post and comments that are off topic.

If we are complaining much about irrelevant topic what of repeated topics. Thread like this you created had already been here but you fail to do a proper search.
760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 07, 2023, 10:25:21 AM
Written by Nicholas Jackson.

Who like many of us, including me I tried "day-trading" shitcoins, that LEARNED THE HARD WAY.

Fuck! shitcoins, it shouldn't be given any more attention. The temptation was trying to get them early for those sweet gains 100X, 200x, 500x or even 1000x, but unfortunately only for them to be a rug pool. Only 3% of day traders make profit from trading shitcoins. So we dont have to try it all, by trying to day trade shitcoins we have removed a fraction of money we would have use for Bitcoin.

I found both of them in Twitter/X. I believe if he invested seven years ago, during 2016, he would probably be thanking himself for having an open mind and actually learned about what is one of the most important inventions of this century.

 Cool

Buy the DIP and HODL, especially those DIPs that make Bitcoin crash below the 200-Weekly SMA.
Quite an unfortunate individual, Nicholas Jackson had the privilege of learning about Bitcoin earlier and even completed some Bitcoin related courses. Well, he did not invest or take part in the success stories of Bit coiners from seven years ago. I believe he has some doubts about Bitcoin. Knowing about Bitcoin technology is one thing, but believing in the technology is another. Only true believers are the ones who go the extra mile for Bitcoin. His disbelief caused him to halt his journey.

Buy the DIP and HODL, especially those DIPs that make Bitcoin crash below the 200-Weekly SMA.
This is 100% correct. However, it is nearly impossible to predict the future. What I mean is that, while buying the dip is important, buying at a good value is also important. This means the focus should be primarily on the current price and the price you are speculating it to be in the future this drives you to DCA and accumulate more. Trying to time the market is not really necessary, especially when you are a Longterm investor.
