All I see is:

"I want share price to go down!"

"I want share price to go up!"

"I want share price to go down!"

"I want share price to go up!"

Grin

I see a lot of valid points from both sides, but LC is entirely too quiet. Are their devs *STILL* in newbie jail? Really?

I bought into this IPO because I thought it was attractively priced and had a good risk/reward profile(I did not feel the same about BTCGarden), but you cannot properly assess risk/reward without accurate and timely information and all I hear from management is crickets.

Hi ChefBorjan. No, not at all. The GPUs don't do a whole lot and eat a lot of power, relatively speaking, but I need a computer running to keep our BFL gear fed anyway.

Do you actually still mine BTC with them?

You know, you would get a lot more out of them if you just point them at middlecoin.com.

(Middlecoin automatically mines the most profitable scrypt coin, automatically exchanges those coins for bitcoins, and pays out entirely in bitcoins.)

It works.

Hi Akka. Thanks, consider it done. Wink

Thanks guys.

Yeah 35% is quite a chunk, and our dividends will show the effects first as they're daily, but everyone involved with mining be effected.

Cheers.
744  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: August 14, 2013, 04:04:20 PM
Did that account for the loss of 1.5 BTC in the divs currently queued? Just curious, didn't think GPUs still did that much work.

Hi ChefBorjan. No, not at all. The GPUs don't do a whole lot and eat a lot of power, relatively speaking, but I need a computer running to keep our BFL gear fed anyway. The drop in dividends is caused by the ever increasing difficulty and yesterdays large increase. This will effect everything related to BTC mining. The drop in dividends would've been over twice that had I not added more hashing power.

Cheers.

I recently updated our spreadsheet and the front page:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArTS7AD--9SWdDNfb0lRNElqS1k1eGRoWEw2TGM4NlE&pli=1#gid=0

If anyone finds any bugs let me know. I got behind on my paperwork while travelling. Trying to get caught back up. Smiley

The silence is deafening here. I'm out until there's some solid info from management.

Cheers.

I've switched our GPUs to scrypt mining @ middlecoin to see if we can get a bit more out of them without my having to spend a lot of time/resources.

Cheers.

Nice, good job as always dude. That is surprisingly cheap! Good for us  Smiley

Thank you bobboooiie. I believe these relatively small acquisitions at favorable prices should allow us to tread water, figuratively speaking, with little risk whilst the ASIC hardware picture continues to clear. Sooner or later one vendor or another will finally offer solid evidence that they're able to meet a timetable/specifications and a larger investment will then make sense. The risks right now are entirely too high IMO to place large pre-orders with vendors that may or may not be able to deliver.

Cheers.

As long as we can somewhat keep pace with difficulty we'll stay in a strong position as the market continues to develop.

Can you go into a bit more detail on the 'secondary location' where you're housing the new Avalons?

Hi davos. Sure, it's a vacant residential rental property I own. Nothing fancy, but it's secure. I've also moved Avalons 1 & 3 there as I do not want to risk a shutdown due to overwhelming the electrical supply of either location. I've about 12kws of capacity at one location and 10kws of capacity at the other location(while still maintaining a safety margin).

I'm still looking at a few different commercial properties to lease, but the requirements are limiting my choices somewhat.

Cheers.

Edit: I snapped a pick pic of the four of them when I finished configuring av6 and will see about posting it up.

Why is the share price for the PT at btct so high (0.005) compared to the price of the full seat (0.33)?

that's the power of btct exposure + lower entry price. I wonder why didn't PT exist before.

The real question is, why aren't there more seats being bought on Nastyfans, and sold on btct? Smiley

...well Carnth? Grin

Hi JimiQ84. Thank you, that's similar to my projections. My maths led me to conclude that a price below .7/Gh/s would be worth the risk even at this efficiency.

Cheers.
751  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: August 14, 2013, 11:28:30 AM
You crazy ass mofo. Went out and sourced another two Avalons!  Grin

Two 4 module Avalons at that.

It's like you've got Toucan Sam's nose but for ASICS.

Do you mind divulging the BTC price paid for both units?

Shareholders have every right to that information, they were 75BTC each. They even came with PSUs so we needn't spend funds on that, though I've had to set them up in a second location due to power constraints and I'm going to have to invest in cooling at that location as well.

Cheers.

Edit: Actually I may look into swapping the PSU or adding a second to one of the new rigs as it's not performing as well as the other two comparable Avalons despite being relatively cool. It's currently at 1441.86 shares/minute and indicates an avg hashrate of 103764. While this is respectable the other two four module rigs are averaging over 1500 shares/minute accepted.

bASIC-Mining Increases Hashrate

bASIC-Mining is pleased to announce the further expansion of it's ASIC mining inventory. Two additional Avalon batch 3 rigs, each with 4 hashing modules have been obtained. This addition is expected to bring bASIC-Mining's total hashrate up to approximately 1,210,000Mh/s. The new hardware is currently being configured and will be available to add to mining revenue as early as tomorrow, Wednesday August 14.

Management remains committed to a policy of strong growth and careful hardware selection in this rapidly expanding Bitcoin network environment. The company's active hardware assets consist of the following:

(1) BFL Minirig SC

(4) BFL Single SCs

(3) Avalon 4 module rigs

@creativex

Does BASIC-MINING have pre-orders open at the moment or something comming?

Hi demzie. Funny you should ask...

bASIC-Mining management remains unimpressed with the history of pre-ordered ASIC mining hardware and isn't likely to invest company funds in products/vendors that cannot provide concrete proof that they're able to meet claimed specifications or delivery schedules. With the number of hardware vendors increasing management feels that the cost of selecting the wrong vendor could be very costly.

Management will instead focus it's efforts on obtaining select ASIC mining hardware at prices deemed to be favorable to shareholder interests until such time as a clear hardware vendor choice emerges.

Cheers.

I think we have a very small window here where Avalons that are purchased cheaply and can be hashing for us very quickly will be able to pay for themselves and yield a modest profit. I'm thinking under .7BTC/Gh is a reasonable price to pay at this point.

Cheers.

That's not bad, thanks for the heads up. I have something a bit better in the works, but if it falls through then maybe.

The correct url is

http://www.bitfurystrikesback.com/shop/

but even these prices are not all that great. These are in line with BFL's current prices. Yes the chips are more efficient, but the idea that these products at this price are a BFL killer is flawed.

Nobody has to kill BFL...they're committing suicide. Even Avalon has announced an updated product in the pipeline. What has BFL announced that's new since last June? They have more hostages, but their product lines have degraded significantly.

BFL's prices have risen since June 2012.
BFL's claimed efficiency has dropped since June 2012(due to reality intruding).
BFL's claimed time to deliver has been proven to be a lie again and again.

The competition has already surpassed BFL's prior technical superiority, which would be fine if their investors had the products they'd paid for and were working toward a ROI, but the vast majority of them are not and haven't received anything but empty promises.

Chargeback if you're able.

There's too many variables.

Correct. The biggest for bfl pre-order customers being...*when* will I finally get the gear I paid for?

Quote
Bitfury? They list a $90,000 miner that does 110 GH/s. Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people are lining up for that one... supposing that someone does pony up the money for it though...  if you think the ROI for a $279 Jalapeno is going to be difficulty to achieve, consider that to achieve similar performance to that monstrosity, you would need 20 Jalapenos for $279 appiece. So... $5,580 from BFL versus $90,000 from Bitfury?!?

What the heck are you talking about? Bitfury is $8k for 400Gh/s for October delivery. More ominous for bfl pre-order customers is that they have products sold for delivery in late August. As in *THIS* month and their efficiency is far better than BFL's.

----------------------------------------------------------

Do not listen to lucasjkr. I don't know what his game is, but he's grossly mistaken in his assertions. This is the beginning of a cut-throat ASIC hardware price war between multiple vendors and bfl pre-order customers are being held hostage and victimized by an unscrupulous band of crooks.

Chargeback now if you're able.
