741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which are you more comfortable with, betting on low spreads or high spreads? on: December 12, 2023, 02:40:25 AM
Most of the time, I prefer the smaller spread because it only takes one or two possessions to cover the spread, and it's almost close to a moneyline or match winner bet.

The bigger spreads are what I try to avoid because teams are okay with losing a few points when they've already guaranteed the win, and underdogs would sometimes give their best until the very end, even though they're down by double digits.
742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you wrap up your gambling session? on: December 12, 2023, 01:08:04 AM
How about you do you wrap up your sessions and how many minutes or hours and do you think it's ok to do a wrap-up?
I rarely wrap up my sessions, and when I do, it's mostly just me lurking in the public chat, thinking of what my next plan is after gambling.

My other way of wrapping it up is by looking at some of the upcoming matches to see if there's a good match worth betting on early before the odds drop.

These wrap-ups have more upsides, so it's perfectly fine for gamblers to do it.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: December 12, 2023, 12:02:26 AM
With two matches playing at the same time later today, i've tried making an alternative teaser/multi with GB -2.5 and MIA -6.5 @1.88. I assume the Dolphins will win, but covering the original spread might be questionable, so I pushed it down to a touchdown since it's available. The Packers' leg is another obvious pick, and I can't count out the Giants in keeping this a tight match, so I had to take the alternative spread as well.

It's good to see that today's special is for the NBA, and it's a nice change of pace since this one is probably easier to hit.

The Orlando Magic might look like they're starting to crack after their two recent losses, but I still have faith in them to hit the special when they're one of the best first-half teams, and they're playing at home, which is their best chance at popping off. This could still go either way since the Cavs are starting to beat good opponents and currently have the best road record.

745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll! on: December 11, 2023, 04:03:26 PM
1. How much bankroll can you afford to start with?
Around $5-$20, and it used to be higher because I still prioritized profits back then.

2. With your bankroll, how much expected profit do you anticipate in a year?
I don't set an expectation on how much i'll be making because sports betting can be unpredictable, and having an expectation could unnecessarily put you under pressure.

3. Will you be content with your profit? If not, have you considered increasing your bankroll, even if you cannot afford it?
I'm always happy with my profits even though it's not much. Better avoid that greed before it backfires.

GG to Saint-loup for that competitive round. I almost thought I fumbled the last question after seeing Everton get the upset against Chelsea.

The cup break couldn’t have come at better time for me, that should helped get me getting the needed breather and get back to winning ways.
I'm also relieved we got a cup round this week because I need a mental reset after going through losses and draws these past few rounds.

Hopefully, I could beat my previous best and reach at least the third round this time.  Cheesy
747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone here started with a decent bankroll in sports? on: December 11, 2023, 12:57:09 AM
I'm curious and would like to ask gamblers who have established a decent bankroll and bet only a certain percentage on their wagers: How has it been going for you? Are you currently in profit, or not yet?

Let's consider a scenario where you have a total bankroll of $2,000 dedicated to a specific league.

If you are in profit and your win rate is 60%, how much have you made (net profit) so far?
Like most gamblers, i'm not in the overall profit because it's easier to lose control and bust your bankroll.

Depending on the matches and league, the profit could vary between barely making a profit to tripling your bankroll per season. I say this because not all leagues have the same amount of matches played and sometimes it could swing both ways because of the unpredictability that happens from week to week. The win rate IMO doesn't always tell the whole situation because a bettor can reach the same win rate by betting on favorites with lower odds.
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: December 11, 2023, 12:11:01 AM
Son saved my disastrous week, but I still wasted some potential points after not making him the vice captain.  Tongue

Also, i'm a bit lost in the next few rounds when three of the best players (Haaland, Son, and Trippier) might get benched in my squad for next week, and maybe more because of the upcoming FIFA World Club matches.

After that bitter loss from the Patriots vs. Steelers match, i'll take a stab at another under ticket and it'll be for the Jets vs. Texans match. I expect the weather to be a huge factor in holding the total below 30 and it's probably why the line is this low, even though the Texans are capable of scoring.

The Texans' @1.61 would've been a solid bet, but it looks so easy that it's giving off some trap vibes because the pressure will probably start to mount on their side when every win matters more in their hunt for the playoffs.

Edit: The under got ruined by that last-minute field goal from the Jets. Lips sealed

Correct predictions yet again @ralle14 ! Shocked
Bellingham did score but Real Madrid's sole goal in the match, which unfortunately the betslip didn't get cashed due to Real Betis Balompie's excellent form during the later stages of the game.
Very sorry for needing to mention it as you would of already known if you were watching the match.

For today's match of the day looks pretty simple doesn't it? Just back your favorite team to win. No ATGS too!
After the first half of that match, I knew Real Betis wouldn't make it easy for Real Madrid, so I had to live bet that match to avoid the loss.

I would've taken the specials if Son is confirmed to play, but I will take a step back and go for the Spurs to win @2.12 because Newcastle still has a lot of missing players, including their starting goalkeeper. With all these injuries on both sides, I imagine this will somehow end in a 1-0 win for the Spurs, even though it's uncharacteristic for them to have that kind of scoreline.

751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 10, 2023, 05:29:31 AM
EDIT: 5 straight points by the Pacers, cutting the lead to 3, Obi's 3 and then a steal for a layup.
This small run by the Pacers during the start of the fourth quarter got me nervous since it had a lot of back and forth. And then the Lakers got their turn to push the lead back to double digits.

Even though the Pacers lost, it was still impressive that the game remained competitive despite their low shooting percentages.

so congrats in advance kabayan for that ML bet.
Thanks, and congrats to everyone else who backed the Lakers.  Smiley

Weekly Update(link)

Added Megapari under OFNP.
Added Stake(2) under PNYC.
Moved Rollbit from CFNP to FLUX.
Removed Stresse from the table.
Moved Tumbler from PNYC to CFNP.
Updated the payrates for eXch and Unijoin.

I'm still not sure how should I name Stake's second campaign.
753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 10, 2023, 12:30:04 AM
Going with Lakers ML tonight and not just because LeBron is playing amazingly at his age but because Lakers do have something to prove this year and In-Season Tournament seems like the best opportunity for them to do that.

Odds fresh @ 1.57 because I'm really not so good when I bet on NBA even if I watch it quite a lot weekly so I prefer to go with a "safer' route.Grin
I got the same bet because I can't bet against the Lakers again after their game against the Pelicans. I avoided the handicap because the bet can quickly lose if they suddenly can't hit more than half of their shots, similar to the Suns game a few days ago. And as much as I like the Pacers to win because of their impressive underdog run, they probably won't have an easy time running their explosive offense against this Lakers team that is improving on the defensive end.

754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: First winning can be a trap on: December 09, 2023, 11:32:20 PM
The first attempt of gambling by anyone that the result comes out to be a win can be a trap if one is not careful and conscious. Have noticed people who plays gambling on their first attempt and win thinks gambling is very easy because they were lucky to have a win in the first attempt,  whenever it happens like this with beginners they still want to play  more and as they continue it is just a simple strategy to lose all they won in their first attempt,  it is important new gamblers shouldn't tricked to play more expecting to continue to have more wins.
This should apply to all gamblers and not just beginners because it's still easy to fall for the same mistakes even though we've experienced them before.

For the new gamblers, it's common to see it that way, and it should be fine when it can become a lesson for their next session. Anyway, I wouldn't stop them if it's their first time gambling because it's better to experience it yourself, and telling it to another gambler isn't always enough for them to take the mistake seriously.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 09, 2023, 03:13:17 PM
I've switched my sights to the Real Madrid match since I need Bellingham to do well against Real Betis and have exactly a goal or assist. With the injuries on their side, I think he might have a better chance at getting one of the two, but Real Betis might ruin the bet, given their good form.

The specials page eventually started working for me again just before the first match in the EPL begins in about a little over an hour.
@ralle14 they do have one available for the table leaders. So Up The Arsenal vs a very red hot Aston Villa squad.
They are in 3rd place from what I remember the announcer saying in their last match and think they have won 5 in their last 6 matches. Have to check the numbers on that one because I don't even believe in this streak from The Lions.
I was hoping for an EPL multi-bet, but i'll skip the Arsenal match even if it shows up. I see it ending on a draw or maybe a possible win for Aston Villa when they're no joke at home, and Arsenal nearly drew against Luton in their last match.
756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 09, 2023, 03:20:11 AM
Was watching this match as I had several bets on this match as it was a pretty dry day today in betting during this time.
And once again you were correct in thinking what will occur during a match! Bravo.
They're always the kind of team to park the bus whenever they get the lead, so I expected it to happen. Unfortunately, I don't have a bet to back it up, so it didn't matter.  Embarrassed

I had high hopes for Napoli since they already got Osimhen, but it sucks that they couldn't convert at least one when they both had the same xG.

The PSG BTTS special might be worth a sprinkle later, but i'll wait for now in case more special appears later today.
757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are slots hard to understand on purpose? on: December 09, 2023, 12:45:51 AM
With the information that casinos provide on their slot games, I find it less complicated because you'll eventually learn those words, and a couple of those terms could help you understand casino games as a whole. For me, they've become easy to learn because there are so many different types of slots, and even though some of them are slightly different, they still have the same overall concept. Back then, i'd say slot games were probably complicated because you couldn't easily find this information within the casinos and you had to search for it on a different website.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 09, 2023, 12:02:01 AM
I'm also betting on the Timberwolves and got the handicap because if they win, which is expected to happen, then 6 points shouldn't be an issue when a few wins that the Grizzlies earned came from weaker teams. They might not have the best ATS record on the road (2-4), but they already beat the Grizzlies a couple of weeks ago by more than double digits.

Bucks seemed to have a lot of issue this season, the chemistry is not fully polish yet. Although they won on some games but they weren't controlling the game like they usually do in the past season. The Lillard and Giannis tandem seem not 100% working yet, so betting against them when they're playing a good team could sometimes be a good idea and it was right against the Pacers.
I had the same thoughts when I watched some of their previous games. They have so much firepower in their team, but they're still not clicking and probably need more time.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 08, 2023, 04:16:04 PM
The Juventus special against Napoli later today is somewhat of a bargain. Two goals and a win for 3.00 is a solid combo, assuming Napoli have no problem scoring one goal and force Juventus to make at least two for the win.

I wanted to increase my stake more than usual, but I have to hold back since there's still a possibility for this to end 1-0 for Juventus.  Tongue

760  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: December 08, 2023, 02:05:12 PM
since "Mixers will no longer be allowed after Jan 1" 2024 according to theymos, I think it would be better to remove these services from the table to avoid advertising them indirectly and forward Bitcointalkers or other people to them until the ban effect takes place.
I don't mind removing it this early if Mitchell and most users want it removed, but i'd rather let them have their final few weeks in the overview thread when they'll be removed for good from the forum.

Also, it might still help others get a new temporary campaign when a few of the mixer campaigns recently increased their budget and pay rates.
