741  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: [ANN] Going to Bitcoin Conference 2013 (Rollcall & Hotel Choice) on: April 25, 2013, 04:00:17 PM
I'm trying to decide between this one and the one in Vienna. Any thoughts on which one will be a better choice?

Being that many of the companies are in the United States and you get a Yifu appearance of Avalon.  I would say this one will be fun.
742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 25, 2013, 11:50:36 AM
I don't get it, they are actually building a FPGA miner with 48 chips, where each chip costs $315. Even if they get the price down to $150, it will be $7,200 for the FPGA:s alone, then add cost for other components, pcb, assembly. How could they possibly sell it for $2,795.00 (where did this price come from anyway? I couldn't find it in the email)

Again, make them produce a working prototype with proof it is real.  That will answer all your questions.  Don't get caught with numbers and specs at this point.   Proof is the first order of business.
743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 25, 2013, 11:42:13 AM
One of the key issues that has come out of the last few days is the issue of trust. We are fully aware that trust must be earned and this is why we are providing you with as much information as we can. Allowing you to make an informed decision about any future purchases.

Anyone who is thinking about purchasing, DO NOT BUY until we see a working prototype that can be independently verified.   Period.   You can give all the information in the world but all you should care about do they or do they not have a working and real product.  Nothing else period.  You have to hold all ASIC companies to this standard.
744  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will there be an ASIC manufacturer's association like OPEC? on: April 25, 2013, 11:22:28 AM
Like OPEC?  That criminal cartel that price fixes across the board?  I bloody hope not  Wink

An ASIC cartel could not "fix" prices.  But the idea of miners working something out so they can all be a little profitable other than only a few, is not the worst idea.  Many people complain about the centralization of Bitcoin mining, they is one way people could try and find a solution.   Not sure how you could get enforcement, at the pool level maybe.
745  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 490,000 Avalon chips already ordered - 150T/hash spike coming in August on: April 25, 2013, 11:19:58 AM
its self moderated, so the OP is deleting peoples posts?

Nope, this is a different thread, being that it is in a different sub-category.
746  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 490,000 Avalon chips already ordered - 150T hashrate spike coming in August on: April 25, 2013, 12:33:22 AM
I agree, we will see how much improvement we get.  I have heard a Russian ASIC is actually about to come online as well.   Bitfury?
747  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Largest Selection of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: April 24, 2013, 11:05:56 PM
Made my first purchase today.  Customer service on the initial call was excellent and the process was smooth.  I will report back once it arrives about tracking communication and quality of the shipment.  So far so good.  Thank you.

748  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: [ANN] Going to Bitcoin Conference 2013 (Rollcall & Hotel Choice) on: April 24, 2013, 11:02:39 PM
I will be there, and I will be on the alt-coin panel as well very excited! Flying inform Europe. :-)

Edit: not staying at one of the hotels. I am paranoid about all that bitcoin centralized in one place. Especially those hotel networks.

I hope people are not bringing tons of Bitcoins with them.  That seems risky.   Good old cash for me Smiley

Heh.  I intend to treat the whole trip like a visit to Defcon.  Dumb phone, no computer.

Yep.  Same here.
749  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS: 1oz .999 Silver Eagles on: April 24, 2013, 06:14:05 PM
Sale is now pending. Thanks everyone.

Thank you.  CoinDiver has been a pleasure to work with so far and I will review once they arrive and he will be added to the transaction list.

FAQ

View our full FAQ at: www.bitcoinasichosting.com/support/FAQ/

Do you sell any hardware?

We are not selling any hardware at this time.  We only provide server co-location for hardware that has already been purchased by our customers.  Our clients save time and money by directly sending their units for us for documenting, configuring and hosting.

What mining services are provided?
We provide an all-inclusive hardware co-location service specific for cryptographic mining.  Your miner will mine on a preferential server on a major pool.  We have extensive measures to receive instant notification whenever a unit is not hashing.  Our team is able to respond to these issues immediately and provide you with the highest up-time possible.

How long are hosting terms?

We provide our clients with 3, 6, and 12 month contracts.

Where is Bitcoin ASIC Hosting located?
We operate and manage facilities throughout Washington.

How can I pay?
We are currently accepting BTC (2% fee) and USD via check, wire transfer
(international only) and direct deposit into our Bank of America account.

If I prepay but my units have not arrived what happens?
Your hosting term does not begin until your units begin hashing.

When are you ready for hosting?
We are fully operational and have capacity now!

What insurance do you carry?
We offer insurance against theft and acts of God.  We do not offer insurance against lost profits.

Is there a setup fee?
Yes, there is a one time $42.00 fee per U of rackspace (1.75 inches).  This fee covers mounting, network setup, transportation, configuration and cabling.  This fee is non-recurring.

Do you support non-rack mountable gear?
We have experience deploying non-traditional mining operations.

I'll be there.  Staying at the Marriott.

I'm flying in to LAX earlier in the week, going to visit some family and then drive up.  Can't say exactly when I'll get there.

I'll be at the Hilton.
755  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: [ANN] Going to Bitcoin Conference 2013 (Rollcall & Hotel Choice) on: April 24, 2013, 04:03:44 PM
link not working?
Really you can't fix it? If you can't even fix that link, i am afraid bitcoin is not for you  Undecided

Its fixed, I put this up last night before bed.  Please refrain from the snide comments.
756  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 490,000 Avalon chips already ordered - 150T hashrate spike coming in August on: April 24, 2013, 01:21:45 PM
Those 560K chips might be delivered in August, but they won't come online immediately (probably get a 2 month reprieve for peeps to figure out how to use them --- so October?).

Figure out how to do them is easy. Figure out how to do them en masse quickly and cheaply is a different matter.

Much truth in that statement. Scaling up efficiently is always a difficult task.  Small bad decisions early can cost you big down the road.

758  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch 3 is definitely not shipping on time... on: April 24, 2013, 06:09:03 AM
I'm more worried about my avalon arriving in 1 piece after some of the horror stories I've heard Sad

Are you referring to the SINGLE instance of damage during shipping?  Scared easy?
