741  Economy / Speculation / Re: People who bought BITCOIN at $1000 are now starting to sell, CCN article writes on: March 25, 2019, 06:26:28 AM
I wonder the parameter used in the knowing the time the people selling at a particular time bought their bitcoin. People sell their coin when ever they like.

Yeah me too. It's past panic time now and people are trying to accumulate btc for the possible next run so why sell now when they could easily sold last year. If they haven't sold their btcs back when it was plunging from 10k down to 8k and then to 6k, i don't think they'll consider selling now at sub 4k.
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin with capital "B" and bitcoins with lowercase "b" on: March 24, 2019, 07:29:24 AM
Make it sense. Thanks for sharing, just now learned something new about Bitcoin. Usually I didn't care about capital "B" or lowercase "b" due to lack of knowledge. I think this explanation is appropriate although I will not consider big mistake if someone use Bitcoin instead of bitcoin or use bitcoin instead of Bitcoin. However thanks once again for share something new.

I don't think many people care about that though. Yes it does make a lot of sense but for me, i wouldn't concern myslef that much with such small technicalities. It's not that hard to understand, based on the context of the sentence, if people are referring to "Bitcoin" Or "bitcoins".
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan completely changes its stance on bitcoin on: March 24, 2019, 07:17:33 AM
JP Morgan still sits by there stand against Bitcoin but not with the technology behind it, well I guess they putting the technology so that their reach can spread from the different part of the world.

Actually this kind is ironic enough to see JP Morgan's attitude towards Bitcoin, they opposed crypto but instead made their own version of coin. Even some people call their coins useless. Well for me i think they are just said the fact.

We can't yet tell whether their coin will be useless or not at this point since it usually takes time for any coin to really show it's value. But i agree with alosafidel58. These people know that blockchain will be the future so they adopt the technology that runs bitcoin. These people know how the money industry works and damn if they don't get themselves into blockchain.
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Can Now Buy Movie Tickets Using Bitcoin In Brazil on: March 24, 2019, 06:57:21 AM
Adaptation comes slowly. Hope over a period of time.people will be open minded when it comes to bitcoin.

The problem here in the Philippines in bitcoin is the transaction fee from purchasing bitcoon down conversion to bitcoin and vice versa. It is so costly so people here tend to use the other online payment rather than bitcoin.

Well as you've said bro, it will come slowly. And being able to use btc for simple purchases and transactions like buying movie tickets is avery good start for that. We're seeing crypto atms now, online stores accepting btc and top alts, we're going the right way. And that's even after so many negative news and comments from people who are against bitcoin.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ‘Bitcoin Is Not Money’ Because We Cannot Print It – Banks on: March 24, 2019, 06:35:04 AM
If such an asset can be paid for a product or service, it can be considered a means of payment. Of course bitcoin cant be printed, but that does not make it any bad. Although it is digital, it is still a currency.

Right. Even digital fiat is gaining a lot of users every day. The term "money" Is subjective. And people may not see is at money but they can still opt to use it  to make transactions, just like how we do online shopping and other online services. Fine don't call it money but we use it anyway.
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Agustin Carstens is more aggressive in rejecting crypto than Warren Buffet on: March 24, 2019, 06:30:37 AM
he is the head of the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), he said that crypto is a bubble and a Ponzi scheme that can create environmental damage. he also said that crypto does not have a positive potential to be a currency.
he also told and influence to the youth to stop creating money. he also said that the Bank provides electronic payment instruments for the future instead of crypto.
please share your opinion on this topic here!

Lol. A banker. Of course he'll say those things about btc, i'm not expecting anything less. He's the same with warren buffet and they're just doing what they think is beneficial to their industry. People are saying that bitcoin will make banks obsolete in time and though i don't think they take that seriously, they're making precations by trying to bring btc down.
747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never give up on: March 24, 2019, 06:25:49 AM
Giving up on this slowly recovering market is not a nice idea. If we never give up during the huge dip maybe we must not give up this time because the market is now slowly recovering and I believe that it will maybe continue to rise soon. I think the best thing to do this time is to wait and prepare for a good strategy to earn.
Never give up in pursuit of profit because now it's proven. Bitcoin has reached USD 4,000 and this clearly provides benefits for traders who buy when the price of USD 3,300 and prices are guaranteed to rise again.
So from that optimistic becomes the main factor in the business so that when prices go down there is no term surrender, even dare to increase capital to add to the coins they have.

No, sometimes you have to give up to be able to fight another day. It doesn't mean you'd give up entirely though. The market has the tendency to draw you into it and make you greedy. There are times when you just have to say i've had enough for today and then stand up snd leave. Being aggressive all the time is something that can be attributed to greed which isn't very smart when you deal in this kind of market.
748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid losing money with bitcoins on: March 24, 2019, 06:22:28 AM
Hi

I am wondering if there is some sort of site where you can exchange your bitcoins easily to real money or idk what and transfer back so you can avoid if btc drops.

Thanks

EDIT:

Thanks for all the info.

I am more looking for something like Skrill. You can transfer your normal money in bitcoins and transfer back in normal money.
Sadly you can't withdraw bitcoins so it's just for investing.

I live in Belgium and I am under 18 (but I can use fake identity proof but no selfie etc)

I got around 1 BTC and I am looking for some site where you have like a bitcoin wallet and a normal wallet and that you can transfer money between those wallets

I can't use a bank account
I think there is no such exchange, where you can avoid the fluctuations that exist. all existing exchanges give you facilities to exchange them for fiat and vice versa. of course you can't guarantee you get the same value for that exchange because the price keeps moving

Not an exchange but i think i've come across such a wallet. It's a mobile app called coins and it's basically a wallet for fiat, btc, eth and probably 2 more cryptos. You can easily convert your btc to fiat and vice versa though of course there are fees you have to pay per transaction, but i think that fits the functionality you'e looking for.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the best resources to learn about Bitcoin? Non-tech friendly on: March 24, 2019, 06:14:49 AM
This forum is one of best place to get know bitcoin, head towards bitcoin discussion and scroll to topics which interests you. Satoshi himself used to post here so it has legacy.

And for those who prefer visual explanations, then youtube.  You don't have to be techy to be able to watch videos online. There are people who have a hard time grasping lessons just by reading so watching videos about it is the best alternative. Lucky you if you have a friend who can explain it to you.
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should bitcoin be limited to 21 million? on: March 24, 2019, 06:08:43 AM
Bitcoin is less of a currency and more of an asset class. Finite supply is a fundamental feature of Bitcoin. No compromise on it will be accepted.
Exactly! The 21million capped supply of Bitcoin is its saving grace. I bet you bitcoin won't remain the same once as little as 100 more is added to it. It will nose dive to its death. It's a trust thing. Hodlers and investors don't take such things easily. They feel betrayed. We have seen coins suffer for this additional supply and we have seen coins appreciate once unsold are burnt after ICOs. Bitcoin won't be any different.

I agree. Leave it as it is. Some coins are even burning supplies in order to boost value so adding supply isn't a good idea. If that's even possible. Having a finite number in circulation may one day bring bitcoin's value well above the all time high especially when the last satoshi is mined.
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another proof that cloud mining is a scam on: March 24, 2019, 06:00:19 AM
Well, newcomers still come to crypto for a freebie. They believe that they can get a lot of money here, and therefore begin to participate in all sorts of fraudulent schemes. And when they fail, they will say that crypto is a Scam.
Most of those who suffered losses due to scam were newbies, and I had experienced that in mining investment too, I suffered losses in piggymining, hashmining, and so on. I began to realize that mining which provides big profits is just a ponzi scheme, but I never say crypto is scam

It's almost unsustainable long term so people should really consider other things fist before investing in cloud mining sites. At first look, it's really an easy, effortless way to get bitcoins but you don't have any assurances then even if the site is legitimate. If it crashes you wpuldn't have anyone to run after.
752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk calls cryptocurrency 'brilliant' while predicting end of paper money.. on: March 24, 2019, 05:55:44 AM
I really admire Elon Musk for always being positive with bitcoin. He always support cryptocurrency all the way of it's journey. We are starting to adopt the changes from this crypto world and i think time will come that we will further doesn't need any paper money.

There's a lot more to admire about the guy that just since stand on crypto. I don't even think he' given it much thought. He sees it for what it is  and that's another way to people to have quicker and efficient transactions in the future. He himself added he hasn't bought any btcs on his own yet.
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin shortage - Is it Possible? on: March 24, 2019, 05:52:49 AM
I personally don’t think it would ever come to that point, since the value of bitcoin adjusts to satisfy the demand. I’d like to hear other opinions?

Like all the other are posting it's not possible, because of it's being divisible, but in the future even a 1 Satoshi will have big value in the market, if what Mcafee predict come true that it will hit $1 million I would like Bitcoin to reach $1 million I don't want that old man to eat his dick.

Yeah at best it's going to be an alternative to fiat so even if it has a finite quantity, i doubt the demand will be that high to warrant a shortage. The supply just moves around and would just probably increase in value if the demand rises.
754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: thinking quiting after lose on gambling. on: March 24, 2019, 04:56:20 AM
fatal losses make a tremendous mess. but actually the feeling of wanting to stop can be treated with social therapy. we have to pause and sort things into more positive online income. Without realizing it, in the end we will fall into the best choice. this is a compulsory therapy because the main key is continuous busyness
Realization plays an important part to move on without which you will chase almost everything you want and you will have that difficulty to stop. There will be a way to treat anything related to gambling if it's too much already. The mess that it can create will have that result that we don't want to happen as we already experienced on how is it to be on that situation. Everyone does think of quitting after losing but instead of doing it, we tend to do more.

Luck based games for me have that effect. Like dice. Losing does slap us with a very hard lesson but i don't think everyone learns from it. Some gamblers take it as a challenge to gamble more and we all know how that usually works for them. There' really little fun un these luck games since aside from winning and losing, there's nothing much to it. Unlike games like poker.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MOBA Gambling on: March 24, 2019, 04:43:14 AM
There are so many amateur player out there and I know most of us likes to gamble,
So my question is why aren't there any website that could host a MOBA betting for amateurs were they could bet and they could earn from their own skill.
Who know's maybe because of it they would be a well known player and become a professional.

That's going to be the same as playing dice dude. You get to choose just either of the two teams to win without knowing anything about the competitors. That's 50/50 odds like dice. Unless you're an avid moba enthusiast and love watching other people's gameplays, then it could be enjoyable.
756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours a day are you spending on online gambling? on: March 24, 2019, 04:40:33 AM
I spend now very low time for online gambling, under 1 hour but under 1 hour in a week, in past years i spend more time on online gambling and i gamble almost every day but now i forget about it and is not so profitable for me.
Looks like everyone has been spending a lot of time with gambling before. This applies for most of the old members here when we're too active gambling but now we have limited our time to spend with gambling. I didn't stopped gambling but I minimized the hours to spend with it and everyone looks like have done it too.

Every person that gambled has their own experiences with this.

But I can say that there are fewer gamblers here in the forum since most of the people here say what they want to say or want to post or maybe something they observed but did not really experienced. I did not experience being addicted to gambling but I know it is really hard, so hard that you can't really stop yourself but just limit yourself. In my side, I just gamble for 2-4 hours per day. In office and sometimes after work.
Those old times when most of the people here that were a year or two younger became very active in gambling. Yes, we have our own stories on how we became addicted and how we're able to overcome it. And this is getting off the course, the topic's going on another topic, 2-4 hours per day is like your leisure time and as long as you can maintain yourself control, you're still fine.

2 to 4 hours is a little too much for me. Gambling does have it's enjoyable and stress-relieving effects but for someone who doesn't really give gambling that much priority, even staying 1 full hour is a but tiring. Unless of course it's poker lol. I'm talking about luck based games where you place a bet and wait for the result. If it's poker, i probably could go more than an hour.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: March 24, 2019, 04:34:59 AM
the same match was repeated, and the two players also grew in age. but I think the results will still be the same, mayweather will win again.
Are you sure with that? As far as I know when I watxhed Pacquiao Vs Mayweather lasg few years ago and the fight ids closely and I think points only why Mayweather won on their fights. If he really wants to prove that he can win again so better to have Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 and Im excited on that.
Lol, he probably didn't watched the fight before. If Mayweather will really win the rematch then why is he afraid of giving Pacman the fight? Anyways, Pacman is really willing and even though they have a encounter lately, it doesn't mean that the fight will push through. So many variables for Mayweather to really not pursue this fight and just remain as a promoter to Gervonta Davis.

I don't think he's afraid. For me floyd clearly won and was the better fighter during the first fight. Yeah a lot of hugging and running, but that's boxing. Just goes to show that he knows how to win and he understands that game too much to use these technicalities to his advantage. And pacquiao knows this is mayweather's style even before they fought. The fact that he still wasn't able to counter that style shows how efficient mayweather is and why he's still undefeated. If pacquiao can't beat him despite knowing what floyd has to offer, then a second fight would have the same result for sure.
758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chat in gambling on: March 24, 2019, 04:29:57 AM
Some gamblers still want to stay focus and even me, i don’t usually talk to anyone because i believe they are just a troll and they can’t help me but to make panic and stress to me. My other purpose to gamble is to have fun and if you do stay focus on the chat box for sure you will become more stress than losing.
I guess the chat feature is actually optional and participating on a chat when gambling is not mandatory at all. The chat box turns out to be a troll box if no one moderates it and no rules are imposed. Most of the casino has actually different set of rules to keep the chat clean. Trust me, sometimes interacting with others when gambling does actually to help release some stress. Don't you want to show off to others what you won on the casino?

And there's often the option to mute bro for people who doesn't like chatting with others.  I think it's a good functionality. I usually read chats when idle time or waiting for a result. In a way, it makes up for a real casino experience where you get to mingle with other gamblers in the community.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Whats your favorite game? on: March 24, 2019, 04:26:05 AM
I play poker for the most of times. I like that game and the tention which it brings. Also I play slots when I get a free spin or when I'm too too bored. I oftenly set an auto spins and play it just to kill my time.

It seems that most people in here prefer poker over other gambling games. There's a challenge in poker that goes beyond simple luck and that is appealing us. It's like a regular competitve sport game where luck does play a part but how you read your opponents gives you an added edge. People live challenge you know.
760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: March 24, 2019, 04:21:55 AM
You guys know what's happening with the warriors?

Mavericks just hit them hard, 108 - 70 3rd Q ( I thought my scoreboard is wrong)

This was a good steal for bettors if they beat on the Mavericks beating the warriors.
Luca did the magic tonight, triple double already.
Full time GSW 91 - 123 Mavericksi very bad perform Warriors
I seen how they play today Mavericks is doing great in this match so it doesn't make sense and I can't think that Mavericks can defeat a Warriors

Thompson only scored 8 points in this game and curry did not play.
So let's just call it a bad game for the Warriors, and like they do all the time, they will bounce back, so let's prepare for that.

I agree. Just a few more games to go before the playoffs and i think the warriors aren't thinking of winning as much games anymore. It wouldn't matter who they play in the post season and they do have home court advantage already in thr first round and likely second. Mavs played great. Luka cemented his roy claim. Warriors played bad. It happens.
