741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Catcoin - Scrypt meow! on: December 28, 2013, 06:38:35 AM
I've created a FreeBSD port:

Code:
fetch -o /tmp/catcoin.shar http://www.unibia.com/unibianet/sites/default/files/catcoin.shar_.txt
cd /usr/ports/net-p2p/
sh /tmp/catcoin.shar
cd catcoin
make install

Full Step by Step Instructions to install on FreeBSD:
http://www.unibia.com/unibianet/freebsd/install-catcoin-freebsd

If it gets popular enough I'll submit it for inclusion in the official FreeBSD ports collection since Dogecoin is already there.

I expected this.  I was only able to download up to block 19329 yesterday.  Look like some one with a more complete chain recently connected to my node.  The chain is good up to block 19368:

744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New Bit coin NBCOIN is coming - combines the advantages of btc and ltc on: December 27, 2013, 09:45:17 PM
Found 17 blocks in the last 8 hours, so it seems to be working.
Problem is the difficulty is so high and not enough hash power.

It will probably take a week before the difficulty readjusts.
745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New Bit coin NBCOIN is coming - combines the advantages of btc and ltc on: December 27, 2013, 02:03:14 PM
I guess this coin could still be revived if there is interest.

Here is a public node for anyone to connect to:
nbcoin.securepayment.cc (63.247.147.164)
port: 6333

I'll host a copy of the Windows Wallet
http://www.securepayment.cc/opensource/cryptocurrency/nbcoin/nbcoin_client_for_windows_1.0.0.rar

md5: a068784f7c25418504b978343a501f71
sha256: 31f53274bc87bd9fea1a0ca82e8473ca28bb70d43059959771e0ef1cb867bfa5

Create a shortcut to nbcoin-qt.exe and add the following to sync the wallet:
-addnode=nbcoin.securepayment.cc:6333

Instructions on how to setup a node using FreeBSD server:

Build was successful.  A public node is now available at:

63.247.147.164:6333

It might be down later while I move to a production server.  In the mean time If anyone has a copy of the block chain feel free to connect.

I cannot seem to connect

Strange.  Try with this IP on an alternate port: 63.247.147.163:6334

I think part of the problem is that the default port conflicts with Bytecoin.  Anyway, if I can get this to build on my FreeBSD system, I'll put up a public node running.

You do realize nobody will buy these at this price, right? Your only hope is if someone wants one badly enough as a novelty item. They will never, ever make an ROI at that price. Come just three weeks from now, they won't even make a dime a day.

With that said, I will offer you 0.06 BTC for one or 0.1 for two.  I'll even pay the shipping (USPS Medium Flat-rate Box).
752  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining Contracts on: December 13, 2013, 09:01:31 AM
I don't understand the value of the mining contracts on eBay.  For example there is one that sells for $10 for 1 hour at 120GH/s.   I would only earn $2.66 per hour mining bitcoins at 120GH/s with the current difficulty.

Why someone would buy this when they would loose money on it?

Zetacoin will soon be in the FreeBSD ports collection along side bitcoin.

I've created and submitted a port:
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=184369

If accepted, this should make installing zetacoin on FreeBSD as easy as running a single command.  The only potential problem I see is that "debug.log" file I was asking about earlier.  I'm not sure how to resolve that, and I don't think a 'symlink' would be an acceptable solution.
757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Pools up - Quick confirmations on: November 29, 2013, 08:44:37 AM
I've noticed a problem with the Zetacoin server.  The debug.log file does not get placed in the data directory when one is specified using the "-datadir" command line option.  It instead remains in the default location which is ~/.zetacoin

Any way to manually tell the zetacoin server where to put "debug.log"?
