So, here we are, talking about decentralization the whole time (especially with ETH's "decentralize everything" attitude), and then you go out and buy a token, that says a certain amount of gold in a safe somewhere is yours (and it is all in the same safe)? Doesn't make sense to me. Am I missing something?

If you know how to divide your gold and store it in several place in the world with big security while being able to withdraw it easily, congratulation you are a future rich man.  Grin

and so just buy gold. why bother with DGX and DGD at all?

after installing bitmessage how would i go about sending a message to, for example, you? Are you using 'Lannister' as your bitmessage ID?

My Bitmessage ID is BM-2cXXoFkRtXKvV4oiJcJjBXyYBiqo8Eibmc.

thanks.

would you recommend i create an address with a random number, or with a passphrase?

why do you block all private messages Lannister?

I always used to be a very privacy-concerned person. Unfortunately, the privacy practices here at bitcointalk.org do not meet any of my personal expectations. Deleted messages, for example, are saved forever. Even worse, same applies to private messages that are deleted by just one party. I would expect that information, that a user has disclosed in a relationship of trust (as in a private message), will not be divulged to others without permission. Unfortunately, this has happened multiple times in the past.

As a matter of fact, I have decided to exclusively communicate under the cover of Bitmessage.

i see.

after installing bitmessage how would i go about sending a message to, for example, you? Are you using 'Lannister' as your bitmessage ID?

what are the voting thresholds of the DAO?

if a couple of whales take large blocks of 'shares' that guarantee that their preferences are passed due to their voting power over the other stakeholders where's the true democracy? they could direct the DAO to fund their own company and syphon off the ICO funds. if the identities of DAO 'shareholders' are unknown then fraud is a possibility.
745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next $1 Billion Blockchain? on: May 04, 2016, 07:47:05 AM
vcash was already pumped to 30k, and now dumped again, why it should be at top? lisk instead have a very good hype around it, i go with lisk

because a lot of new accounts fixed the poll for vcash. probably one vcash holder trying to engineer an out.

why do you block all private messages Lannister?
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digix DGD on: May 03, 2016, 07:48:13 PM
the gold is held in a vault in Singapore and therefore, it is subject to Singapore Law & government control, so I guess one will have to get lawyers involved etc etc........but don't quote me on that..........

thanks.

i do hope that client assets (the gold .et.c.) are partitioned from the company's assets and liabilities.

748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digix DGD on: May 03, 2016, 06:58:16 PM
DGD holders get a percentage of transaction fees per token, 0.001 % or something like that (am not sure of the exact number but it is tiny)

1 DGX is the one that is backed by 1 gram of gold.

So not surprising to see DGD getting dumped, a lot of people thought that 1 DGD= 1 gram of gold but it's not.

Also, a lot of people did not expect the SLock. It DAO to be taking place since the ICO had been cancelled and they had said they needed time to set it up.

So when they THE DAO went live, a lot of people dumped the DGD tokens to buy ETHER to participate in THE DAO/Slock.It.

thanks.

only today did i realise that there are two tokens, the X and the D. i can see Gatecoin and Open Ledger listing the D token following the launch, but where would one buy the X token?

Digix Global seems to control DGX. Does it sell X?

Digix DAO is for DGD (the Crowdsale).

To buy DigiX , you need to go there: https://dgx.io/#/

You then need to install the webwallet and then load your wallet with either ETH or BTC.

You can then buy gold that is guaranteed by a smart contract or you can choose to have your gold redeemed in person by going to Singapore.

You can get further details on the website.

thanks.

what happens to the DGX (gold) Ethereum based contracts if Digix Global Ltd. ever goes bust? who coughs up the gold?

Each token is backed by 1 gram of gold .... on sale now for $6 vs. $50

something BS here ;/

DGX is different of DGD, DGD is not backed by one gram of gold.

are DGX tokens traded? where are they?

https://sale.digix.io/

"What is DGX and DGD?

DGX or Digix Gold Tokens are Ethereum-based Gold Tokens that are backed 100% by gold and can be used to redeem physical gold. Each DGX token represents 1 gram of LBMA certified gold.

DGD is an Ethereum based asset that represents a portion of the DigixDAO. DAO token holders will receive a pro rated reward of DGX transaction fees on the Ethereum platform."

who is holding the DGX tokens?

when i go to an exchange i'm NOT buying the X gold tokens, only the D tokens?

at the moment 1 gram of gold is $40-$45 and the D tokens are about $5 each.

waves ICO 6400btc so far

3000btc more than when people werent clear on who is involved

then we have dao ico which raised $12million in 3 days nice

so you aint getting no eth dump for lisk

people coins are stuck in lisk

you work out which one will give a better return

DAO

WAVES

LISK

either way its not lisk.

youl most likely get dumps below ico not  because lisk is crap just because bad timing whales are entering those coins they aint diverting their funds here. best time to launch was yesterday

shame

Or just buy WBB as it'll beat all three of these, including ETH with actual development/releases (and hopefully price too).  Cheesy

Nice, welcome back for your Bi-weekly WBB promotion.

I would like to propose a new Lisk Delegate.  All of the Lisk earned by this delegate node will be dumped and converted to WildBeastBitcoin, the superior coin.

instead of waves i would prefer the https://crowdsale.mycelium.com/#/main/orders

ETH went up what is good for Lisk.

and DAO is very likely alot of hot air. Ethereum computer, not sure, if its a burner, however i would buy it with the 50% discount now. And this is over in twelfe days. So its over before the Lisk start. Mycelium will be over too.

The point of a strong Lisk price is a strong community. When there is no community, there is no value.

care to elaborate on your preference for Mycelium the wallet?

it's a good brand name, but wallets there are many.

Forbes: Digital Gold 'Done Right' With DigixDAO Crypto-Trading On OpenLedger

DigixDAO’s crowdfund launch on Ethereum commenced March 31 2016 and was intended to last for a period of just thirty days. As it transpired they hit the cap and the sale ended in twelve hours – pulling in 1o times their original loose target of $500,000 – collecting $5.5m in the process.

“A successful business is not just about great tech – even in crypto. It’s about relationships. OpenLedger, the exchange built on the Bitshares 2.0 platform, has been designed for the demands of the modern market.”

High-frequency trading  is one of the factors that is touted to making OpenLedger such a “natural complement” to Ethereum for the DGD project according to Ronny Boesing, CEO of crypto exchange CCEDK, which is OpenLedger’s Danish Registrar.

Its feel like this ICO is way too long...

do pay attention.
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digix DGD on: May 02, 2016, 01:30:26 PM
The price dumped only if you compere it to the Pre-coin.
Anyway, the pre-coin is irrelevant (Same story as LISK pre-coin).
If you compare the price to the ICO price, then the coin double its value.
My guess is that when the coin will go into poloniex, Its will gain much more to its value.

what was the ICO price?

Something like:
1 Ether = 3.6 DGD

thanks.

why does the coinmarketcap.com chart price line start at around $30?

https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/digixdao/

Due to the fact that Gatecoin created Pre-coin that was based on the actual coin.
The same think that happen with the LISK project.
The price of 30$ was for the Pre-coin. nothing to do with the real coin.
I don't know why people buy those pre-coins..
I guess that those people don't understand that it's not the real thing.

thanks.

i hadn't realised exchanges were IOUing this coin before its launch. all is now clear in my mind. thanks again.
