7421  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin faucet as a form of punishment on: July 12, 2014, 10:04:41 AM
If you want to make money from faucets, get yourself a good faucet rotator website, add a lot of relatively decent faucets, and get a lot of suckers newcomers to Bitcoin to use it. Then at least you can earn money from faucets without having to deal with the ads.

True lol.
The only reasonable way to earn from faucets is to refer newbies to those sites with your ref links. Grin

I feel like were evil Sr.Members but its true the newbies need to start somewhere and learn about Bitcoin
Easiest way is to set them off on a faucet hunt Smiley

Although the only one I liked really was the one where I watched videos
http://www.bitcoinget.com/?r= Insert Bitcoin Address here
Lol not that its worth much at all just because it was easy and sometimes I liked the vids that and the accumulator doesn't forget Bitcoin addresses so you can come back whenever with that address lol.
7422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now is like MP3s were in 1995.. on: July 12, 2014, 10:00:33 AM
Good times. I remember swapping floppy disks (you youngsters can look'em up on wikipedia) with new songs for friends to listen to. If you crunched them down below 48 kbit/s you could actually fit more than one song per floppy disk!

I used to take a stack of floppys into college to download as many mp3's as I could on my lunch breaks due to their slightly faster connection! zip that shit for maximum music!

Then the zipdrive came out  Grin

Did compressing the MP3s actually save any space? MP3s use lossy compression so zipping shouldn't be all that effective, if at all. Perhaps the lossy compression wasn't so great in '95 times. Christ, it's just dawned on me that's almost 20 years ago O_O!

Welcome to the feeling like a 80s or 90s kid.
Where AOL was the internet, Windows 95 was amazing! (Ok still is in a sense lol) and Boy Meets World was still around before the next gen Girl meets World right now &_&.

# and think your right on the mp3 part.
7423  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does Kurd deserve their own country ? on: July 12, 2014, 09:58:59 AM
Kurds was cheated after World War I.
They received false promise from World powers that they will get their own country when WW I end and Turkish empire collapse, but this didn't happen and France and England divided between themselves Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Israel and other Arabic area.
It will be justice for Kurds now if this injustice from Paris conference in 1920 will be corrected now.
I don't think that Iraq have much chance to survive as united country now, anyway.

Pretty naive to think the world has room for justice.

Just about every successful country fought for their own land and make a great deal of sacrifice doing it. Even if Kurds is freely given some land that don't belong to them, how long do you think they can maintain it before being taken away by another stronger neighbors?

Cough I had a feeling you were hinting at Israel there Smiley

But true enough the Kurds need a strong army to handle the other countries that said they have a few good things going for them one secure enough oil supplies two a fairly stable country/economic situation compared to Iraq, three they are not Israel lol. (mean they have a lot of people of a similar enough ethnic background to other nearby countries)

With those factors it should not be impossible for them to stabilize a nation if they aren't destroyed by a powerful outside cough (westernized) influence.

Dear HEADHUNTERS,

43% of any btc I will be able to get back IF you find the identity of the thief!

If the whole amount will be returned to me (1170BTC) that would be 500BTC.

https://blockchain.info/nl/address/1GwNLwoCQiobJzmURSAq54vH4BYjFkwaxr

FIND HIM!!!

Hot damn!
That is a large amount Klee but the hat is on it will have to get mixed or moved to an exchange and that is your best shot I guess
My apologies bro

Like the others assume internal steal second ask for an IP trace from dropbox if they have logs and third offline that computer as vital evidence might be on it.

Possibly check with the Bitcoin Gambling Sites and see if an address matches lol.

I can't do much myself but posted in the ARG puzzle thread since somehow people were able to solve it perhaps they can help with the mystery good luck.
7426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now is like MP3s were in 1995.. on: July 12, 2014, 09:18:07 AM

7427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Im interested in investing into alt cryptos and want some input.. on: July 12, 2014, 09:00:47 AM
I have dabbled a little in alt's, I was lucky enough to mine namecoins the same time I was mining BTC, Glad I saved them (sold at a good price) then I purchased some litecoins, I was going to buy a few hundred to a thousand a week, but only did it for a week. (stupid me), thats when litecoins were just a few cents a piece..

So, I want to get some advice on the alts.. 2 years ago, there wasn't much of a choice, not there are tons.. so, any info would be appreciated..

http://mapofcoins.com/

Pick the ones that seem to have a future based on market trends the ones most people are familiar with are Darkcoin NXT and Dogecoin each has its own methodology and value but in terms of market cap the ones that will survive will have a strong userbase

http://coinmarketcap.com/

Based on coinmarket cap I would recommend Darkcoin or XC for analysis but you can make a better decision by combining market cap with user base and innovations.

Best of luck with your decision

How do you analysis the coin ? Market cap and volume ?

Market Cap Volume Utility Growth and demand
The most important factor is the reliability of the code followed by innovation to the ecosystem
Example most coins use variants of Litecoin/BTC but only a few have stepped out to make their own codebase.
Lite and BTC only have about 200 different lines of code but the codebase has been proven reliable different coins that are non-btc variants have unique codebases but have so far been proven to work.

Some new coins territory/coding is fresh ground so it has to be tested first.

7429  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-11] Bitcoin Conference to be Held In Indecisive Thailand on: July 11, 2014, 10:27:26 PM
I hope some curious and interested government officials attend the conference
The best case would be they would be convinced that bitcoin is useful and change and influence the legal policies of the country to promote and use Bitcoin now that some of their risks and concerns are addressed.
7430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So, which coins should I actually invest in? on: July 11, 2014, 10:22:11 PM
The non-Btc based forks
http://mapofcoins.com/

Pretty much can be summed up into Darkcoin XC NXT and those type of coins
Although which ones will have the most utility and usage in the future is still being decided
7431  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin faucet as a form of punishment on: July 11, 2014, 10:19:15 PM
Bitcoin faucets are trying to punish me for visiting them with a tremendous amount of Ads, most of them jumping out of the blue. My eyes don't  want ot visit any more. It is not just annoying, it seems very unhealthy for the eyes. I seem to be one of the less visitor and still, they want me out or not?

Ha-ha ah you gave me a good laugh
Perhaps they could be a form of menial punishment but one that you decide to use I guess they should take design into account when making them.
7432  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: July 11, 2014, 10:14:27 PM
Really looking forward to this weekends games. No idea what is going to happen. Germany and Holland have definitly been the stronger teams out of the two games.

I was reading that a sloth choose Germany to win
http://video.ca.msn.com/watch/video/bob-the-sloth-chooses-germany-to-win-world-cup/16a5esek9?from=
Toronto Zoo's two-toed sloth's prediction record was about 90% until the semifinals

So guess vote sloth is one possibility lol.
7433  Bitcoin / Legal / Judge Shoots Down ‘Bitcoin Isn’t Money’ Argument Silk Road on: July 11, 2014, 10:12:06 PM

51 Page Court Order
http://www.scribd.com/doc/233234104/Forrest-Denial-of-Defense-Motion-in-Silk-Road-Case

The judge in the Silk Road trial has struck down the “Bitcoin isn’t money, and without money their can be no money laundering” defense that shut-down bitcoin-based black market was attempting to employ.

The judge also threw out the argument that Ross Ulbricht, the 30-year-old alleged creator of the Silk Road who currently is facing charges of money laundering, drug-trafficking and being a criminal “kingpin,” was merely the innocent creator of a website that others then used to sell lots and lots of drugs.

“Silk Road was specifically and intentionally designed for the purpose of facilitating unlawful transactions,” trial judge Katherine Forres in her 51-page order. “Ulbricht is alleged to have knowingly and intentionally constructed and operated an expansive black market for selling and purchasing narcotics and malicious software and for laundering money. This separates Ulbricht’s alleged conduct from the mass of others whose websites may—without their planning or expectation—be used for unlawful purposes.”
7434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Judge Shoots Down ‘Bitcoin Isn’t Money’ Argument in Silk Road Trial on: July 11, 2014, 10:05:24 PM

I knew that precedent wouldn't work but thanks for sharing it
I wasn't sure when Ross would begin his trial but its nice to keep track of these things.
7435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has officially become the one world currency on: July 11, 2014, 10:01:28 PM
the "official" one world currency will come from the IMF and no one else

and surely they won't adopt BTC but rather roll out their own

True I can see the IMF releasing its own version of foreign aid digital currency
Then telling them to pay it back with resources and physical goods and not fiat Smiley
7436  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: July 11, 2014, 09:53:22 PM
How do people use paypal so much? Really, what is the reason? They are f-ing people over constantly. Both with their fees (try to convert currencies as a merchant) and account frezing..

Lack of awareness of viable alternatives next to Visa with merchants that accept it for trade
That is changing though with Bitcoin and more merchants adopting it but it will still take some time
7437  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. W on: July 11, 2014, 09:41:26 PM

Well glad this is all over now
Hope you get better then and your health issues are handled.
7438  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2014 07 09 XAPO READY TO SHIP BITCOIN DEBIT CARDS Pymnts on: July 11, 2014, 10:37:20 AM

I like that idea myself.
7439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finland launches bitcoins-by-air pilot project on: July 11, 2014, 10:29:15 AM
Can you explain a little more about the project?
What information do you need please?

There's a lot of technical stuff at http://kryptoradio.koodilehto.fi/

Fascinating I'll have to give it a read (edit read it)
Can you give a summary of how it transmits and functions example the User Interaction side

Edit In:
So over the air Bitcoins in the air, literally speaking. Got it but a thorough explanation would still be handy.
7440  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Earth's Magnetic Field Is Weakening 10 Times Faster Now on: July 11, 2014, 10:19:15 AM
Back in the 70s when I was young, there was an acquaintance of mine who was a dental student who had a friend, who was an astrophysicist from Pepperdine.  He had a theory of a polar axis shift and that it occurs quite rapidly.   He said that is what explained the mammoth found in the artic with still undigested food in it's stomach, the Beresovka Mammoth.  Anyway, he said back then that it would occur soon, and would be cataclysmic.  Of course, "soon" is a relative term, so who knows what was meant, years, decades, centuries, within the next millennium.  Oh well, if it happens that way, just hold on and enjoy the ride....while you can!
We are about due for a pole reversal.  Australia has had the south to itself for long enough.
The only thing a magnetic pole reversal will do is change the directions on a compass.

Unless the Earth's axis tilt changes, or the Earth's orbit around the Sun changes, nothing significant will happen to the climate.
IT won't really change Earth's atmosphere, which is as important as Earth's magnetic field in relation to solar flares.

That's kind of neat then although I guess since a pole reversal takes a long time I wouldn't live to see the compass in reverse.
"Such a flip is not instantaneous, but would take many hundred if not a few thousand years," Floberghagen told Live Science. "They have happened many times in the past."
