7421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Armory won't accept my rootkey on my paper backup on: November 16, 2018, 07:06:19 PM
Check the first line from the rootkey maybe something missing, it might be one letter or more and it should be 38 letters per line.

Honestly, I don't have much experience with this wallet but I found a video guide if how to restore the armory wallet.

You can follow the guide from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=81&v=5et2BfLzEHs

7422  Economy / Speculation / Re: The fourth quarter of 2018 not the brightest on: November 16, 2018, 03:54:17 PM
Many people who say that the price of bitcoin will climb up from 6k to 10k this coming 4th quarter of this year, but until now there is no sign saying that the price will go up until the end of the year instead the price of bitcoin fell.

Actually, the price of bitcoin is definitely no guarantee that the price will go up or fall because the price movement is very volatile.

There are many reasons why the price of bitcoin has fallen, one of the sample reason is a news(it may bad or good) where people can decide whether to sell or not.

Another one is "Big Investors/Holders" who sell or buy a big amount of bitcoin.

These are just some of the reasons why the price of bitcoin may increase or decrease.

However, I think the price of bitcoin won't stay too long at the current price and I still believe that bitcoin can be recover again soon after this short dive.
7423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASPIS AE7 42.6 TH/s Miner on: November 15, 2018, 07:39:45 PM
Never heard this kind of miner before it looks like a fake miner and info, it doesn't even listed on asicminervalue.com.

When searching I found their site aspismining(dot)com and check it to whois, the site registered on 2018-04-17 which is new.
This is the only information that I searched on google.

For your safe, I think it is better to go directly to the http://asicminervalue.com/ they have a list of latest miner.

Never tried this before with SDcard recovery on S9 but I have some video that I think you can watch how to do an SDcard flashing never find a guide from google but I found this from an old post here on the forum.

7425  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin traffic project on: November 14, 2018, 10:15:44 PM
Hello,

I'm doing an academic project where I need some network traffic produced by bitcoin miners. I tried to mine bitcoin myself with a GPU for some hours, but I only got rejected shares because of low difficulty. Even though this somewat helps with the project, it would be way better to have some actual traffic with accepted shares and stuff.
I was wondering if I should just keep trying waiting for a share or two to be accepted (or maybe I got the cgminer configuration wrong?), or if I shoud buy a cheap asic usb, and try to mine with that. Any recomendations with what would be the best solution?.

Thanks!

I think Bitcoin pools no longer accepts GPU mining so this is the reason why you can't mine bitcoin with GPU.

If you are willing to start mining with ASIC you can find the list of ASIC miner from here https://asicminervalue.com including the daily profitability.

USB Dongle or Antminer u1/u2/u3 is no longer support in some pools due to low hashrate but if only for your academic project you can try the antminer T9 it is cheaper around $150.

Check this T9 from here https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020181023190821920tviTz8HX06EA
7426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not found by TX #, but it is by Wallet.... Someone please help.... on: November 14, 2018, 07:30:41 PM
Well, i tried all three of those block explorers and it shows up on 2 of them, but not on Blockchair.. It was also broadcast 2 hours ago now with a 12sat/byte fee....

So, it does not show up on blockchain.info or Insight, but it does on BlockCypher and Blockchain.com

cannot figure out why this would occur though....
It might be a browser issue that is why the TXID you made doesn't show on blockchain.info.

You may try to clear your browser cache and history and then change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for alternative DNS you can use this 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 after that check your TXID if it shows fine or not.

If everything doesn't work try to use a VPN because I think this is just an internet issue not on their side because your TXID shows fine on my browser (firefox).
7427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not found by TX #, but it is by Wallet.... Someone please help.... on: November 14, 2018, 07:18:07 PM
Did you check the link or the TXID correctly? Make sure that you copy and paste a correct TXID. Have you tried to use other block explorers?

Check these links

- https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/
- https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/blocks
- https://www.blockchain.com/explorer

Make sure it is bitcoin because if the transaction is made on other coins the explorer won't work.

Edit: I checked the TXID just now but it shows fine to me check this link https://www.blockchain.com/en/btc/tx/546470ec9ce19e834697452a9f90415dd5d44c342f8fd29a95f3a495a00faea6

If it doesn't show you can try the other block explorer above.
7428  Economy / Speculation / Re: What occurs BTC falling down again? on: November 14, 2018, 06:30:03 PM
OMG the price drop again below 6k it's a bad sign happen this month, I also heard about the hack coins from cryptopia but I forgot if it's a coin or the exchange site.

I don't find any news in google about the price drop today but I am sure it won't stay too long.

This is not the only time that bitcoin drop in just a few minutes and I think sooner or later it will recover back again to 6k value above.
7429  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 HTML "413 - Request Entity Too Large" on: November 14, 2018, 05:18:32 PM
What do you put on the MicroSD card - the downloaded Firmware file or do you have to extract the content first and put the extracted contents on the card?

I think after you use the SD card tool from bitmain just copy and paste the firmware inside the SDcard.
Never done this method by myself before but you can follow the video guide from here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT0GBoh_xTI
It's a Chinese version and the video is low quality but you can see if how he make a Flashable SDcard.

Another video from youtube but it's not a step by step you can just watch it as reference https://youtu.be/dzArOe8KuHI

You can try to contact them via webchat from here http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#yiimp

I think the developer of Yiimp is Tpruvot who developed ccminer and Yiimp pool so you can contact them via github you can check the profile from here https://github.com/tpruvot
7431  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New used batch of S9 13.5T and PSU - not working - how to test PSUs? on: November 13, 2018, 06:06:34 PM
I will try the flashing process you listed when I get off work.

I have pasted their kernel logs ( I refer to these 3 as 13, 14, and 15) to the pastbin.com site as you asked. The links to the pastes are Miner 013, Miner 014, and Miner 015.

Miner 013: https://pastebin.com/wqUFDsKB
Miner 014: https://pastebin.com/fMsav2Zx
Miner 015: https://pastebin.com/ThwBPsXu

I appreciate reviews of these. I can find some things in these myself - but much of it is still unknown to me on how to interpret them.

Do you have stable internet connection? I noticed that the miner 013 and miner 014 has the same error which is network "Fatal Error: network connection lost!" and the 015 miner only detects 1 hashboard.

You can try the method below it might solve the issue if not, the final solution that I know is to flash the hashing board with PICKit 3.
There is a guide here but the method is for t9 miner but you can apply it to s9 miner check the thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5032987.0

How long should I leave them unplugged before re-plugging? Is this to make sure they have all power dissipated - like that being held in capacitors or in the PSU? Is the part of the process critical - the power cable and data cables? If not, I can do the flashing remotely - but if this really needs done in this process I will have to do it after work.

Replug it after flashing the miner or control board make sure only control board has power so that you can go to the miner's dashboard and flash it with the firmware above "s9_fix_upgrade.tar.gz" then after that flash it again with autofreq firmware.

After the flashing is done you can replug all hashing board and test if it works?

Please read this one how he fixes the miner if it has missing hashboard https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5034849.0
7432  Other / Off-topic / Re: Chargeback Possible Outcome with Vanilla / Paypal on: November 13, 2018, 04:09:09 PM
I think yes the 2nd account can be affected so make sure that you are dealing with trusted sites.

While searching I found a site with reviews and complains about the site it looks like there are many bad reviews about this site. So, I suggest that you stay away from them.

Take a look at this link https://www.consumeraffairs.com/credit_cards/vanilla-visa-gift-card.html

So, this site is totally scammed.
7433  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New used batch of S9 13.5T and PSU - not working - how to test PSUs? on: November 13, 2018, 03:13:12 PM
Can you try to flash this firmware s9_fix_upgrade.tar.gz it uses to fix the file system then remove the hashboard cable from the hashboard including the power cable and then flash it again with this firmware Antminer-S9-all-201711171757-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz
This firmware mostly fixed this kind of issue.

Honestly, it's hard to troubleshoot the miner without kernel logs if you can provide the kernel logs we can find if it's a hardware related issue or software related issue.

You can find the kernel logs from the system tab menu then paste it to http://pastebin.com/ and put the link here we will try to find what is the issue of the miner and we will try to give some basic solution to fix the problem.
7434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin too difficult to understand? on: November 13, 2018, 01:30:38 PM
Bitcoin is such a big book, no one can read it. It has so many puzzles when people are still trying to learn how to understand it. But you may find it difficult to know when Bitcoin is growing, but it is difficult to control it. The government also wants to control it, but it has to be wrong because it can not do it.
I do not consider bitcoin difficult to understand until now I only monitor price movements and then determine the steps to be taken such as buying when the price is red and holding until the price rises then selling. this method that I often use. I am also always patient when prices change.

Interested in hearing what (if any) tracking apps or monitoring websites you all use, thanks!
There are many websites that you can track the bitcoin price movement and other cryptocurrencies and some Android apps.

Check this list below.

- http://coinmarketcap.com/
- http://bitcoinwisdom.com/
- http://cryptowat.ch/
- https://bitcointicker.co/

For Android version, you can use these apps below.

- Bitcoin Ticker Widget
- The Crypto Widget App
- CoinMarketApp
7435  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signature generator on: November 13, 2018, 11:30:23 AM
I've noticed that a lot of the signature campaigns look to be images that have been converted into a character format for the signature. Does anyone know if there is some sort of generator online to translate my images into a signature?

Thanks
There is no generator that can convert images into BBcode but you can hire some expert on making signature BBcode here in the forum.

If you don't have any knowledge to make a signature in BBcode you can check this list of signature and avatar designer below.

- Overview of Bitcointalk Designers(Signature,Avatar,etc) Last Update: 18-Sep-2018

Edit: didn't notice the 2nd post with the 3rd link. It seems that there are 2 sites that can generate BBcode by uploading an image.
7436  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 MOTHERBOARD DAMAGED on: November 12, 2018, 11:55:29 PM
Is not a transistor. Is either a resistor or capacitor. Look at the same part on a good board and you will see a very tiny component number on the PCB next to the part, something like R123 or C123. If 'R' then is a resistor, if 'C' then is a capacitor. Then look at the good component itself and you should see a tiny number on it identifying the actual mfg part number. Search for the number on Google using  "resistor (or capacitor) <number>"  to find a supplier for it.

Just disconnect the ribbon cable and power from bad board and miner will run just fine with just 2 and even 1 hash board.

Honestly, the color of the part is brown or orange so it is not a resistor if you can check the hashboard circuit diagram it should be a C123.
Resistor color is black, you can check the image below as a sample of resistor and capacitor.

According to OP's image, I don't see any name under the capacitor unless if you have hashboard schematic diagram?

@OP I think if you don't have scrap hashboard you can try to find capacitor in other devices like mobile phones just make sure its the same color and size and you must have a multitester to check if the board is shorted or not after you change the capacitor just to make sure no other components can be damaged due to shorted capacitor.
7437  Economy / Services / Re: [ICO] Full ICO package | ERC20 token creation | Token 18 USD only on: November 09, 2018, 11:38:49 PM
While checking his post history it looks like this account just used for marketing purposes and there are lots of duplicated post that we can consider as plagiarism and this thread must be removed because it's duplicated of this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5047137

Do you have any other proof that you or your team created "Optitoken" I couldn't find any in your post history even just a 1 token that you or your team is developing a ERC20 Token?

I know a real developer here in the forum who offering ERC20 Token Creation and he is asking for 100$-300$. per project.

$18 USD is too small for ICO creation unless if you are using the same script with little changes on the script, the same as who offering from this site "icoscriptinfo.com"
7438  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9j unit says S9i in System Overview - incorrect firmware flash? on: November 09, 2018, 10:45:46 PM
You can check the model of the miner by checking the sticker on the case under the control board.

Check this sample below

If the model is different from the system overview which means that the control board is replaced with s9i board or like you said maybe the owner was accidentally flashed the miner with s9i firmware.

If you still haven't tried to flash it yet with s9j firmware you can try to flash it, but make sure to backup the firmware first. You can find the backup option on the upgrade tab from the dashboard (you can use the backup to reflash it back if ever the miner experience some bad logs or it's not hashing properly with s9j firmware) then after that flash it with s9j firmware.

You can try this firmware Antminer-S9j-all-201811071118-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz

Yes, there is a way that you can fix it but you need to pay a small donation to become a copper member if you buy this position you won't experience this errors again and the good advantage of copper member compared to a newbie you can post an image and lesser post interval.

Take a look at this Paid Membership here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

Also, read this below.
What are the time limits on posting and the levels??
I know 360 seconds are for new people like me, but was wondering if there was break down somewhere on this.

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

Not sure what an escrow can do for me in this case? Isn't it a sort of middleman used between transactions?

Yes, it is, there is a list of trusted escrow here on the forum you can check them here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0
It's an updated list of escrow that you can use and you can also check the link given by Potato Chips which also the updated list of escrow.

Since you are a newbie they can't trust you without using escrow unless if you can pay them first but beware on scammer make sure to deal on trusted members here on the forum or use escrow for the safety for both of you.
