7441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What causes tokens been dumped after a successful ICO. on: February 08, 2019, 07:01:45 PM
ICO phase is just a promotion phase, you are announcing and then show casing what you are going to do in that phase and based on this people may contribute to you if they are convinced with your promises and other checks. But, collecting as much as money as per expectation alone will not decide the success of a project hence its token may get dumped if investors lose faith on that project.

It means a project must assure about long term benefits so that its token holders may not come forward to dump. A successful ICO has nothing to do about market fluctuation of its token as it is pure based on how promising that project remains in the view of its investors.
7442  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Elections lead to major changes in Crypto Currency ? on: February 08, 2019, 05:54:51 PM
With the fact that elections are on the way in most of the countries like India, do you guys really think that it can affect the crypto currency and its market?

I am referring this in terms of political campaigns where huge money is flooded on the campaigns to attract Votes and give them reason to vote really.

For example, inhere, politicians may start building new projects for roads, highways, infrastructure, parks which will ease the life of people and thus will create a sense of working in their hearts. This is more or less bribing in white way but yeah whatever.

In this case, would they be accepting crypto currencies or giving legal status to use the crypto so that it can attract crypto people to the political parties and earn some votes for it ?
Depends on the country really. Maybe not india since it doesn't have the proper power reside in crypto currency but elections coming in 2020 could change a lot of stuff in USA and considering we have been waiting for SEC all this time which is a government branch of USA we could say USA has a lot of power in the crypto currency world.

China also has that but I don't think "elections" are a problem there. Hence the next elections that could have a change in crypto world is the 2020 elections of USA. Trump became president I have no idea how but people probably saw their mistake by now and in 2020 if he goes and a proper democrat gets in there (or even another republican would do but I doubt they would offer someone other than the president) then we can have a more progressive person who supports stuff like crypto.
7443  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Banksters Show Their Hand, Gold Will Bring Them Down on: February 08, 2019, 05:10:56 PM
This is exactly around the time when buying bitcoin would be beneficial for the american people at most. Think about it, what would happen if a poor person in Venezuela bought bitcoin way before this civil war and hunger thing started? They would have advantage over everyone else and would have lived a better life after the hunger started, like a poor person when everything was ok will be a rich person when everything went bad. That is the power of bitcoin.

American economy is going bad now and its going to get worse and worse by the day as long as Trump is the president and this Mueller thing will not end during his presidency but if he gets reelected then there is a big chance of him getting impeached as well. Hence, when a person buys bitcoin right now they will have double the advantage, both bitcoin increasing in value and also dollar losing value and whoever holds bitcoin will have higher purchasing power then they can imagine when everything goes sideways.
7444  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to find a mentor for trading on: February 08, 2019, 04:31:14 PM
How do I find a mentor that has lots of experience doing this stuff?

Online and also in person. Wink

Somebody who knows what they are doing for a long time now.
Mentors could be really good while starting but also terrible for advance stuff. Most of the people that have been trading for years or any long periods of time usually have their own system built and whatever they found success in they will teach you about it but that is it a very shallow small percent of how trading is done.

You would require a lot of mentors to show you all kinds of different ways of trading so you would actually know other options as well, you can't have that luxury with just one mentor who teaches their own way to you and skip all other options. If you want a mentor, you should focus on getting a lot of them even from early on so you do not have a bad start that you will have hard time trying to challenge your mind to forget and look for other methods later on.
7445  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who has traded with any AI platform? on: February 08, 2019, 03:50:08 PM
I don't know about huobimena and never used it but I have used some other ones.

Usually when they say "AI" do not think of some thing that can think for itself. In simplest terms it is just machine learning and they are quite small machine learning things and nothing major. Hence, when they call themselves AI do not believe it, its just a program that is designed to follow your orders to it and do whatever you tell it to do and sometimes, just sometimes it does something differently than it should because of what it has done so far and not worked.

Nothing major to change neither, just something small which in the end gives the same result. So, no matter which product of which company you talk about, whether huobimena or anything else, think of it as a trading helper instead.
7446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tips and suggestion on: February 08, 2019, 02:59:04 PM
Always be profitable in trading, that's our goal and we can achieve it!
Achieving the goal is truly dependent on how hard worker you are. I believe being profitable while trading is not possible but you may end your day with profits if you are skilled enough to manage unexpected volatility of crypto markets. Trading is easier only after years of experience and continuous learning and entering into this crypto markets at current stage might be leading to negative effects in your confidence level about your performance in trading. I mean your confidence level is more important for performing well in trading but while considering the current bear markets, this may not be the right time to enter into trading for anyone.

But, definitely this must be the right time for learning about the basic nature of crypto market so that we can effectively manage its volatility in near future once it turns into positive trend. I mean to say this is not right time for active trading but this is time for position based trading so that we can buy and hold and also we should keep on watching keenly about the volatility of the market so that we can make profits as well we can learn the basics of crypto trading.
7447  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you think this BEAR MARKET will LAST? on: February 08, 2019, 02:21:26 PM
I do not understand how people are certain with a price and a time table.

Like I get could bitcoin increase in the next 10 years ? Definitely, I think these prices will look funny compared to what it will be in 10 years. Could bitcoin reach one million dollars one day ?

More than likely, bitcoin is a scarce and non inflation currency which means the more dollar devalues due to inflation the more bitcoin will worth even if bitcoin doesn't go up itself which it will. But, will bitcoin be 1 million dollars in the next 10 years ? Who knows, that is just a certain time with a set price and I can't really make a guess like that because we do not have a data in our hands that guarantees such a thing.

I am not saying its going to happen or not, I am just saying its uncertain and we can't possibly know.
7448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market will be recovery current year 2019 ? on: February 08, 2019, 01:14:08 PM
Depends on what you mean by recovery. If you think bitcoin will go back to 20 thousand dollars once again then you are wrong and it will most probably not go there (well its bitcoin we can never know what it will happen, I wouldn't be flabbergasted if it reaches there).

However, if you mean recover like going back to 6-7 thousand dollar range then its more than likely. Its right there and we can reach it easily, its not even 100% increase anymore and we have seen bitcoin increase 35% in a week even during the worst conditions of this year so why not get to a 100% increase over course of a month this year. So, recovery is a dubious term, depending on the scale of recovery we can say it ranges between "it is possible" to "it is unlikely" but nothing is listed as impossible for bitcoin.
7449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin continues to decline? on: February 07, 2019, 04:47:12 PM
I do not understand the need for whales in bitcoin community. Everyone is either afraid of whales (and angry towards them) for dropping the price by selling a lot of coins all at the same time making it worth less or they love the whales for buying a lot of coins and increasing the price.

If we had a lot of people who buy and sell bitcoin constantly and even at this price if the volume was x50 of what it is today then we wouldn't be caring about what whales will do because we would have such a high volume that what whales do wouldn't effect the price of bitcoin.

We should be focusing on getting rid of the whale dependency by increasing the volume of bitcoin and all other coins and just make it a stable economy instead of this whale run speculative and manipulative show we have right now.
7450  Economy / Speculation / Re: 3 Reasons Why Bitcoin Always Declines When Lunar New Year on: February 07, 2019, 03:04:40 PM
It is exactly the same as the regular christmas or new year and nothing different, just instead of a global thing or a christian thing it is just purely chinese thing.

Normally, on new years and before that people sell their coins so they can cash out and buy stuff, the trees the decorations the entertainment out on a restaurant or something the presents and what not, it all costs a lot of money and people usually spent a lot on stuff like these. That requires a capital and in todays' world not many people have cash to withdraw from bank to spend on stuff like these, some people have investments on stocks, some people have savings account with interest, and some people like us have money in crypto to cash out and spend on these things (like I did on this new year) hence all of these that happened on our new year, happens on all chinese new years as well.
7451  Economy / Economics / Re: The Factors of Demand and supply on: February 07, 2019, 02:30:28 PM
When I was in college we were taught that the price of any commodity is determined by the factors of demand and Supply to a large extent.
In your understanding, do you think that the price of bitcoin is determined by the factors of demand and supply?
There is no other reason for bitcoin to worth anything. If a company makes a product and sells it for 100 dollars, there is three possibilities, either the product will sell A LOT and they will increase the price to something higher because they can and people will pay, or the product will sell just enough and they will keep the product at the same price, or worse scenario people will not buy for that price and since it costs them a certain amount and they can't profit anything lower they will just stop selling.

Bitcoin is not like that, the only reason bitcoin is not 100 dollars or 1 million dollars is the demand and supply, we have a limited supply but we have it all the same and people are willing to pay 3.5 thousand dollars for it now, if people were not willing to pay that much it would go down, if people were willing to pay more than it would go up.
7452  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Bearish or Bullish? Here my thoughs on: February 06, 2019, 04:47:49 PM
It doesn't matter what the miners will be making, we all talked about how bitcoin wouldn't go under $5.8k back in the day because that wouldn't allow miners to profit and the cost was too much for them to keep on mining when the price goes lower than that which means the price would stay above that. What happened afterwards ? Price dropped so much that many miners left the mining equipment idle and that caused the difficulty to drop and made the cost of mining a lot cheaper and here we are now.

Do not even attempt to think miners will have anything to do with bitcoin because they don't and they never will. It is the whales and the public opinion that shapes the price of bitcoin and according to what people think bitcoin worth the price changes.
7453  Economy / Economics / Re: Quadriga CEO Death - Real or fractional banking? on: February 06, 2019, 03:23:03 PM
I don't get it, why does banks and exchanges and companies are saved by the government but not people. If a bank fails to do what it should and owes its customers a lot of money and needs to get bailed out of the situation government helps them out but when a person fails to pay their loan they take his stuff away. How does that makes sense. I know that wasn't the topic but I just hate the fact that Quadriga got saved by the Canadian government with the creditor protection thingy.

Aside from that I doubt he is not dead, he is probably dead, there are much better ways to steal peoples money without faking your death, otherwise someone could see you and notify people, who is going to believe someone who came up with 250 million dollar worth of coin without a big history, only people with that much money is the people who have been in the business world for a long time and unless he fakes his death and impersonate bill gates when he is revived as someone new people will ask where he found the money.
7454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to invest to have pasive income on: February 06, 2019, 02:44:14 PM
I've been mining for almost two years, and now I am going to sell my graphic card. That money I want to invest in some cryptocurrency that have pasive income (POS, DPOS, masternode or something similar).
For now I'm looking to invest in vechain.
What are your opinions and suggestions?
I think staking is by far the clearest choice, specially if ethereum staking starts. Look at all the masternode and stake coins, none of them made a "passive income" in dollar sense because all coins lost value in the past year and if you want to make passive income in dollar value then you should find a dollar investment method instead but if you are looking for crypto passive income even while all coins value was dropping people who stake made more coins while the market was down and they will have profits sooner than the people who do not stake.

There is also freebitco.in which offers I think %4 for your investments and basically a yearly interest rate and since its with bitcoin it could be considered like bitcoin staking and it is honestly better than just keeping it on regular wallet with no interest.
7455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you participate in crowdfunding? on: February 06, 2019, 01:38:19 PM
The main idea of crowdfunding is for investors to pull their monies together to support the launching of a project. Unfortunately people join ICOs as traders not investors so the moment the coin is being listed, they quickly dump them without even waiting for the project to launch any of their products, destroying the price of the coin. Now these same people will come and create a thread here that ICOs are dead. In fact crypto is not dead, we are actually killing it.

Is your main idea to support the project or just to make profit from the bonuses and go your way?
People think the next big technological breakthrough could happen with crypto currencies and blockchain. I mean who wouldn't wanna be a part of the "next apple" or "next windows". I know its highly unlikely that the next apple will be from crypto or blockchain based technology but it doesn't mean that a huge company can't come out from this space.

It may not be as big as the others but look at the startups all over palo alto, there are companies that worth billions of dollars that didn't made a single dollar of profit yet investors want to buy them out, that is why people invest into stuff like this early so they could get out at the max and hope that at least one of them could become billion dollar company and that would make them very rich. Just purely speculative but also kind of like lottery.
7456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Short-term or long-term investment? on: February 05, 2019, 06:10:21 PM
Constant-term investment. Do not buy something and sell it right away, do not aim to be a day trader, day traders are people who work tirelessly to figure out which coin will be the best for that day and it takes a lot of experience and effort to be like them and even after all that they still fail sometimes. Do not buy a coin all at once and wait until it goes up, you can end up buying at the peak prices and hope it will return to those prices to just break even, it will not help you at all, it is not a good way.

Just invest periodically to couple coins and do not put all your money in there at once. Every month just put up a small portion of your money into the coins you like and do that constantly, that way if it goes up you will make profit and if it goes down you will buy more from cheaper prices.
7457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The influence of Ethereum hardfork its marketcap. on: February 05, 2019, 05:08:47 PM
The announcement of the hardfork of Ethereum in the crypto community has made many cryptopreneurs invested into it because with the new fork all eth holders may be given some of the newly minted tokens based on a specified ratio and also if the exchange being traded on gives it supports of it. This news has brought about intense buying of ETH and this would go a long way to increase its market cap to overthrow Ripple. What are your thoughts about this hardfork of Ethereum guys.
I think ethereum hard fork would change a lot of things for many coins, all coins that are currently working in PoW system will see how it will fare with ethereum and many may decide to switch to PoS as well if it works out for Ethereum.

Ethereum has always been an innovative and developing coin that is never happy with how things are and always try to improve upon itself and that is why I love ethereum, it used to be just a regular coin and look at where it is now and without the miners and developers working together to improve the coin it wouldn't be possible to come this far.

Hopefully, when eth hard fork happens the price will go higher up and will have no problems with transaction time and prices so that other places will follow on its path to PoS system which everyone can be a part of without buying any equipments to mine.
7458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Intraday vs HODL on: February 05, 2019, 07:23:05 AM
Intraday vs HODL

In the current market situation which one best and what do u guys prefer
Right now ? Intraday looks like a better option. On long term ? Hodl is still the king. The difference between intraday and investing is that if you do intraday on a bad market there is really no chance of losing too much amount, you can still lose and if you are doing margin trading and leveraging and so forth that means it would be risky but if you are just regular buying and selling during bottom times you will have a chance to profit from the trend upwards movements.

Moreover, when it comes to long term investment, if you are going to hodl until the price is above 20 thousand dollar again then there is no point of spending effort and time into intraday, it is both risky and also takes a lot of time and instead you can just buy once, store it and wait until it goes up which is easier and takes no effort you, just takes longer time to profit.
7459  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you think this BEAR MARKET will LAST? on: February 05, 2019, 06:41:10 AM
While checking around, I came across some write-up of how long this bear market have been and we also get to know that this bear market is the longest.

I found out this: https://www.ccn.com/the-crypto-bear-market-wont-last/amp recently.

So what's your own opinion and say about how soon will the bear market be over?
I think it will be at least some more months. Its not going to be years before we see another bull market, it has been over a year without reaching the all time high, I think it can be one or two more years before we see another all time high however it doesn't mean we have to be in bear market. We can get into a bull market that helps us get to over 5 thousand dollars, or even 10 thousand dollars but still stay under 20 thousand dollars.

So, if you ask me we will be around these level for couple more months, then finally will move above 5 thousand dollars either this summer or right after summer and eventually go above 10 thousand dollars during sometime in 2020 before the halving. I have no clue when we will break another all time high tough, that might be some more time after that.
7460  Economy / Speculation / Re: On short selling on: February 04, 2019, 07:17:03 PM
The difference between short selling and long is that long has an option of just "buying". Like if you think bitcoin will go up instead of doing long you can just go out there and buy bitcoin, which means the same except the leverage. Short doesn't have that option, there is no just buying a anti-bitcoin or whatever hence long is a bit different than short. Its less risky for the long people. Short on the other hand has leverages, margins and liquidations and many more stuff that makes it riskier.

There is literally a chance of shorting bitcoin today and as soon as it increases 5% you will lose ALL your money, like ALL, you don't have that type of troubles when buying bitcoin and storing somewhere, bitcoin went from 20 thousand to 3.5 thousand and its still not all lost, just most lost, however on shorting you can have ALL lost instead.
