7441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: e͏t͏h͏e͏r͏c͏r͏a͏s͏h.ισ - Your favourite and most trusted ethereum game 🏅 on: September 01, 2018, 07:37:45 PM
I am glad that ethercrash is like bustabit but based on eth. I suppose it's built on smart contracts and is thus not only provably fair, but also scam-free, as payments should be managed automatically, right? What upsets me is that your 'Terms of service' link doesn't work. I like to take a look at deposit, fees and withdrawal policies before trying new casinos. To the best of my knowledge, eth-based casinos usually have these high fees and minimum bets. Could you please update the respective page on your website, so that people can actually agree to terms of service, not just click the button saying so?
7442  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitsler is a big wed scam 😠😠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠ on: September 01, 2018, 07:28:40 PM
I don't understand what's going on with those screenshots and why is it about various options to get the money partly... I saw some poeple on forums accusing bitsler as well, but it is a minor thing, actually, and it is considered to be a decent casino on this website. Contact their support, explain your problem and ask for the money to be sent. I am sure you'll get it back, they are not likely to risk their reputation like this. You can try contacting one of their accounts on bitcointalk as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=668840. Please update this thread when and if the matter resolves. If they do scam you in the end, just make a thread about it in scam accusations on bitcointalk and leave negative trust to their accounts. But don't panic just yet. You must've violated some rules which lead to money withdrawal pending. Try to talk politely with their support team and I am pretty sure you'll be fine. Oh yeah, and make sure you are talking to their official representatives, not just some people on social networks that have their names. Use their official email, for example: support@bitsler.zendesk.com. Good luck!
7443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 25% of italian football club bought with cryptocurrency on: September 01, 2018, 06:53:28 PM
That's a first in football I believe?
A Serie C club (Rimini), Italian 3rd league, will have 25% of its shares sold in the form of a cryptocurrency transaction, following partnership with Quantocoin. Never heard about this Quantacoin before but a look on their website https://quantocoin.io and it looks quite promising.

Not the first actually. There are already facts about selling tickets (for crypto) to the football matches with help of blockchain and some other examples around football especially.
It looks mostly not like something good for crypto community but rather for a 3rd league football team as it will bring more attention to them because of crypto hype.
I also remember quite recent news about UEFA making experiments ticket distributions on blockchain to make sure that tickets are not faked. And yet in this case I really don't understand in which coin the payment was issued. Quanto is in its ICO stage, so none of their tokens could be involved. Both links seems to use the term 'cryptocurrency' without explaining which one was it.
As for quantocoin, I guess it's cool that they are planning to be a totally legit crypto bank. It is also sweet that their token is built on Waves, not erc-20. But who knows if they actually manage to become accepted by people from other spheres (whether the payments in shops will be possible with their token, for instance). So far this project is in its infantry, and all we can do is keep track.
7444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will keep people from getting into cryptocurrency? on: September 01, 2018, 06:26:20 PM
Among the main reasons named in this thread by others are price unpredictability, high volatility, fear of scam, bearish market and decentralization. I would like to mention another thing which is not a feature of bitcoin, but rather a trait that is very common for humans. I am talking about being conservative. People don't want to deal with cryptos simply because they somehow managed without them thus far and accepting new important things into their life seems not to be worth the risks. Old people are especially good at applealing to history of human practices and of their own life, which brought them this far and is thus proven to be safe. Who knows what these lines of letters and numbers not even written on paper actually mean and whether it is all safe, right? I'd say wrong, but watching the famous interview with SEC chairman I can see the same thing. It is obvious he doesn't bother to get to know cryptos or differences between them. He keeps repeating that this company has been managing securities for a long time, knows how to do that well and is not going to adjust to new things coming about.
7445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sonny's observation on the effects of bounty hunting on ICO projects on: August 31, 2018, 09:17:23 AM
Bounty hunting used to be great. Back in the days, there was an unspoken code of ethics - and common sense - that resulted in hunters thinking like ICO contributors and setting their sell orders at least 1.5x above ICO price. Unfortunately, common sense went out the window a long time ago. So, while it's lamentable that hunters get treated the way they are these days, the sad truth is it's not uncalled for. I'm an ICO contributor and also a hunter. I've seen the damages of bounty hunters underselling first hand... I've also enjoyed the pleasure of buying dirt cheap from them.
If a person invested in an ICO, he/she wants the coin to reach its maximum price, not just return the money by overselling rightaway. Airdrop coins, on the other hand, are truly suffering from people who got coins for nothing and want to profit from it. But hey, ICO hunters are not as of much of a problem as the ICOs themselves. In 2017, people lost a billion dollars on scamming icos. Huge amount of money, which doesn't do any good not only to ICOs, but to crypto reputation overall.
A quick question: what do you mean by 'Sonny's observation'? in your post? I thought you were referring to some company, but couldn't find anything online.
7446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to choose a good casino among the many others? on: August 31, 2018, 09:07:59 AM
Briefly I want to identify some of the ways that I use myself. I believe that one way to define honesty is through independent sources. Many people read reviews on websites, watch ratings and so on. Thanks to this, of course, you can determine for yourself the truthful site. But sometimes it's just marketing. Analysis and opinions of other players is a sure way to find an honest casino, but not all people trust the comments of others. That's why I like it when there is a chat for players directly on the site. We see how many players are sitting right now, what they talk about, we can ask something, etc. Also, real online casinos regularly hold promotions, lotteries and so on for their players. The ratings of the players and their achievements should be present in a casino, too. All this is partly marketing, but also positive in terms of transparency for other users.

Of course, among experienced players the most popular are casinos with the ability to check the results, it is logical and for this people have created a blockchain. I suggest each of you to share your experience and advices on what criteria a good casino should be chosen.

Rates on various websites is a good choice theoretically, but I don't believe in them, because a lot of people put some noname sites in the top because of getting payed for doing so. To me the best way to find a good casino is to scroll gambling section on bitcointalk, take a look at the casinos with signature campaigns that have positive trusted official accounts. Another attractive choice is casinos based on smart contracts. This way any trust risk is eliminated, but I believe that these casinos are pretty weak and expensive for now, so trusted members it is.
7447  Economy / Economics / Re: Please, we should not totally eliminate fiat currency on: August 31, 2018, 08:50:02 AM
From what I have seen so far in this forum and other crypto platforms, most of us want fiat eliminated. But let us not forget that there are still situations whereby we can't use crypto except fiat like in rural places without computers or even internet facilities.

It will not happened even for a decade. Don't worry.

Most people here just expecting too much without looking at the reality and the massive effect of it.

Crypto will grow more but fiat will still be there.
But it is also only a matter of time before there's access to internet and terminals in shops with paypass option everywhere. As more people join the net, cryptos will become more and more useful. Fiat must go away eventually, just as it was created at a specific point of time not that long ago. The idea of not backing up the main currency and allowing potentially infinite supply was doomed at the very beginning. It's just that people couldn't find a better solution back then. As now we have it with a way of predicting the amount and mining coins gradually, we are bound to adopt it.
7448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we make people accept bitcoins as a currency? on: August 31, 2018, 08:39:58 AM
Please come again. which 'people' are you referring to here, the people who invest in bitcoin or those who are accusing bitcoin as scam?
I am referring to the people who are accusing bitcoins to be scams and fake currencies. I have friends who invested their money in scam bitcoin wallets and lost them. Now they believe that bitcoin all and all are scams.
Well, when dealing with cryptos one just really has to be attentive. I don't think it's too hard to google top bitcoin wallets and exchanges, you know. It is also pretty easy to find out that bitcoin is not considered to be scam publicly. What can be an issue, though, is trying to promote the way of treating bitcoin as a currency. You see, most of people want to buy bitcoin to hold it till the better times and then sell it for fiat, as if it was some sort of an asset. Who actually pays with bitcoins without looking at its dollar price? Who pays directly with btc at all? When a coin is not being used to exchange for goods but it considered to be one of those goods itself, we are not moving toward fiat-free decentralized society.
7449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Legit ICO for end of this year on: August 30, 2018, 04:50:56 PM
Give me legit ICO in running right now. Upcoming or Pre sale Stage. Great team, have big partners or investment funds, also potential in the future.
And what your reason to give me your ICO.

According to research results published by cointelegraph this summer, 80% of 2017 icos turned out to scam people. It is more than a billion of dollars invested and lost forever. Are you sure you are willing to take such risks? Noone can be sure about any ico that it is not going to scam people. Moreover, some of those that are not willing to scam simply turn out to be unsuccessful. Why not to take advantage of the bearish market and buy the best and well-established cryptos? This way you have great chances of making 3x profit in some months (or later, but the day is very likely to come). ICOs, on the other hand, will most likely make you lose everything. Plus, there are too many of them, so choosing decent-looking ones will take a lot of time.
7450  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to pick a trading platform? on: August 30, 2018, 04:34:10 PM
Hi I am just new in trading I just want to know how do you pick a trading platform? I am so confuse on how to pick a nice trading platform also I want to know what coin should I start to used for my trading.

Greetings! I think that you should start from looking at the charts on coinmarketcap to choose the coins you'd like to trade. If these will definitely be the most popular coins then you can skip this part, but if you are into finding the hidden jewels, then this is where you begin your journey, since not many exchanges are likely to have it traded. Coinmarketcap.com is useful to chack on which exchanges and in which trading pairs a coin is traded as well. If you want to  start from an exchange, I would recommend bittrex as a trusted, huge exchange with relatively plain design (lot's of options and charts might confuse newbies on other exchanges). Keep in mind that you probably need to provide id when withdrawing money from this website, though. If you want a fast, cheap and 'no ID' exchange with a bit confusing design you'll have to get used to, try Hitbtc. Good luck!
7451  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1 year after Segwit. Have things improved for casinos and gambling sites? on: August 30, 2018, 04:23:10 PM
I encouraged all of you to impelement and use Segwit last year to reduce fees and make your hot wallets more efficient. Plus because I believe Bitcoin's gambling industry is the most active of all, I want to revisit this topic.

For all gambling sites that have implemented Segwit, how is it? Has it lowered your withdrawal fees, having more savings for the site? Are your withdrawals faster and more efficient? How much of a difference does Segwit make from legacy?

I think it is very problematic to evaluate the impact, given the bearish market. Last autumn it was normal to pay about 5 dollars per transaction. At the most bullish time the fees reached more than 20 dollars. Now, even on wallets that don't generate segwit addresses(like blockchain.info), paying less than a half of a dollar per prioritized transaction is classic. What I am trying to say is that the transaction fees decreased tremendously anyway and how much of it is due to segwit is unclear. The real impact evaluation will come when the market gets bullish again and we see the big difference between segwit and non-segwit fees (or we don't, who knows).
7452  Economy / Gambling / Re: sport betting syndicate!!!! on: August 30, 2018, 04:11:27 PM
Others have already mentioned that your post looks very scam-like and if you really want to do serious things, you have to come up with a way of proving that you won't just take the money and leave forever. For starters, you could provide proofs that you really participated in similar gatherings before. Then you should choose a trusted forum member and ask this person to keep the funds you and those who are willing to join provide for the time being. It would be better if you also provided some ID, so that in case you steal everything, police can know where to find you.
And you are saying you are looking to passionate sport betters. Why aren't you making some elaborate quizz to choose only the smart gamblers? Otherwise you will and up in the situation of ochlocracy, which can't be good for your own money.
7453  Economy / Economics / Re: New report on wash trading scares me on: August 30, 2018, 03:52:31 PM
unless you think it is the exchange itself making the orders and increasing the volume, the Wash Trading is real trading. there are real people buying real coins with real money and paying real fees for each trade.

i think in the end the real question is: does it matter?
As a matter of fact, it does. I remember this epizode of Silicon Valley, where the team's application wasn't used much, but one character payed people in Bangladesh to simulate usage by making minimum of actions on multiple accounts. Wrong trading volumes deceive people, who then make their own decisions on how much to trade. Incorrect impression about the market might lead to huge disappointments in the future. Moreover, some exchanges are pushing forwards in the charts by providing fake data. What's good, though, is that IMO the suspected exchanges are not the top ones, even though the lists might say otherwise. LBank, ZB, Bibox.. I've never even heard of this ones.
7454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Indian investors in dilemma to make investment in cryptos!!! on: August 30, 2018, 03:27:39 PM
With the recent adoption of the cryptocurrency in india and the resources been committed to the cryptocurrency by the indian government. it can be said that indians now have the assurance that there are no limitations in the idea of pumping resources into the crypto space ass investment.
I think we had quite a similar thing in my country to what is now happening in India. Ukrainian national bank made a statement that it doesn't recognize cryptos as means of payment and using any unrecognized 'money' is illegal. Some local FUD started afterwards, as if it was big deal, but it really wasn't. Nobody cares what the central bank thinks. It's up to the parlament to decide such matters. And just like RBI banned cryptos while DEA is working on legislation of some legalization (https://cointelegraph.com/news/india-government-to-consider-allowing-crypto-tokens-but-not-cryptocurrencies), project laws on legalization started to appear in Ukraine. We have to wait for Supreme court's decision in India on 11th of September anyway.

7456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TD Ameritrade Launches Trading Functions Through Messenger in Singapore on: August 27, 2018, 08:39:48 PM
That's an interesting way to trade cryptos Smiley

I think this will make it easier to use for a lot of people rather than using a trading platform which may seem hard to use to the rookie user.
It would be if Ameritrade was actually allowing to trade them. There's nothing in this article about cryptocurrencies. This is a brokerage firm which mainly allows to trade securities. The only crypto-related thing that can be traded there from what I saw is bitcoin futures contracts, which is a speculated version of trading btc. Oh, and according to official info in 2017, to trade bitcoin futures there you need a balance of 25 thousand dollars. And it's not even about forming these contracts yourself like on cboe. It's about trading them, I guess, which is another step away from bitcoin itself.
7457  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto chip sales plummet on: August 27, 2018, 08:16:20 PM
Nvidia released absolutely dismal sales related to crypto chip sales today after market close. This is another sign to me that the bear market is not reversing any time soon. Bitcoin is in a sustained decline, and I view the culprit as the stupidity and hype that sent it to $19,000 in the first place. It was unsustainable and it has now very much poisoned mentality as crypto continues to fail to prove a suitable replacement to digital fiat and traditional centralized payment processors.

Specifics on Nvidia's release:

Last quarter, they posted $289m in crypto-related chip sales, which is really a small percentage of their overall revenue. Despite that, they projected sales of only $100m this quarter, which at the time they made the prediction sent their shares down (despite it representing such a small portion of revenue). Today, they reported only $18m in crypto-related chip sales. Shares are now getting whacked in after-hours trading, which frankly makes no sense because they beat expectations on over all revenue and profit. Just shows that the idiotic crypto mentality has creeped into traditional investing.
I agree that we now have the bearish market, because of previously have a really bullish one, but I find it positive that Nvidia sales for crypto purposes are dropping. Graphic cards are designed no display visual effects, make the gaming and film watching experience more enjoyable. Mining is just something they happen to be good at, but gamers are pissed that miners make the demand for graphic cards too high. They should be buying equipment specifically made for these purposes, like Antminers instead. And there are also quite some pos coins, so maybe people are just using more of them.
7458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hodling on: August 27, 2018, 10:44:55 AM
Hello, everyone, I was thinking if it is still profitable to hodl cryptos. Having lost by a huge margin 70% isn't this Hodl just not working. I seem to have finally had enough. What do you guys think?
I lost a lot as well, but I selling now would be the most stupid decision ever. Now is the best time to buy. If the funds are low, we should at least just keep holding them. If you have some of them invested in not top cryptos, just sell everything for the coins you trust or, to minimize the risks, into bitcoin. Basically, we can see from the btc dominance on the market that this is what people are doing nowadays. But if you are holding things like eth, ripple, neo, eos, ltc, monero and other cool things, then just keep doing so, because if you sell everything for btc, you help increase its dominance, which is not a good thing for altcoins' market.
7459  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to overcome my fear and how to start trading? on: August 27, 2018, 10:33:12 AM
Hi I am just new in the trading, I just want to ask how to overcome my fear in trading and what should I do to start trading. I also want to trade with a short term cause I need to earn daily for my daily needs can someone help me and give some that I used to start my trading now.

First, what are you afraid of? Losing your money? Not gaining sny profit? These two sre inevitable and you should just accept the fact that there is always a risk that comes with trading.

You can start day trading if you need to profit daily.
There is a really good article about it and some begginers questions that is answered in here: https://www.bitdegree.org/tutorials/day-trading-cryptocurrency/

You should keep in mind that with day trading, there is much more risk compared to long term holding so you may want to have a separate money for your trading and your funds for daily expenses.
I agree that trading requires investing money at your own risk, rather than instantly getting to profit from it daily. OP, from your post I can see that you are new, short on funds and nervous. I really think that trading is not the best choice for you right now. Trading is a hard thing to do and many people fail to gain anything from it. Bearish market trend is not helping as well. If you need money, you'd better find a job and return to trying trading when the market gets bullish and when you have some funds that you are okay to lose. To start knowing cryptos and opportunities with it, you can buy some from the top (btc, eth, ltc, neo etc.) and hold long-term. The risks are not as high as in trading this way, but daily profits are off the table, of course.
7460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Ovato: The Perfect Digital Currency - Rewards, Earns, and Gives Back on: August 27, 2018, 09:55:54 AM
It's good that Ovato is not alone in this ICO, but is sponsored by Bitovation. I am not sure how big is this company (probably not big at all), but it sort of counts as having a product to the token. What I don't like is the overenthusiasm on both bitovation and ovato websites about their projects as if they founded Microsoft or something. And also, is it just me or does the Ovato whitepaper really not open? I usually skim such documents to get the general idea about an ICO, but in this case I just can't do that. Anyway, nothing about this ICO seems exciting or original to me, but I do hope you won't scam people and will manage to establish yourself on the market.
