7482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you still hodling that shitcoin? on: March 23, 2019, 12:44:21 PM
most people are choosing shitcoin because they hope that someday the price will be quite high but with very high expectations, but as we know the results that will be obtained is not really some shitcoin can provide benefits but for now it is very difficult

This shouldn't be the right way to select altcoins to invest in. I get it if you invested like I did and the price dropped but investing in known shitcoins just to benefit in future pump and dump isn't hygienic and doesn't benefit the industry in any way. We should learn to put our selfishness and greediness in check if not profiting from the industry will be difficult to come by.
7483  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have doubt about altcoin on: March 23, 2019, 11:47:20 AM
Altcoins are different ... Ethereum or Tron also altcoins. However, no one considers them a scam. Therefore, if they say altcoin does not need to assume that this is a bad investment.

True although majority of altcoin are worthless and aren't worth your investment capitals. Many users learnt it the hard way as the  bear market have taught them life lessons as many have lost money to the extent even the next bull run can't rescue them. The mere reason an altcoin gives you profit doesn't mean they aren't scam or shitcoins, take bitconnect as an example.
7484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Is $25 XLM worth your privacy (identify). on: March 23, 2019, 11:29:36 AM
Speaking about the ongoing stellar airdrop by blockchain.com which started as a fair one but now requires those interested in the airdrop to pass some KYC procedures, I ask, is it worth it? We complain of Facebook, Google etc of stealing our privacy and possible selling them for profit to other companies and praise blockchain of been decentralized yet we're willing to sell our private details to some centralized organization offering services related to the blockchain technology and we think it's safer? I get it that the bear market has affected numerous newbie that came into the market in 2017 but I ask again is just $25 worth your privacy?

I suspect this moved by them as a deliberate attempt to steal users private details (identify), first they made the airdrop looks so simple and easy thereby deceiving numerous customers into believing they would get free $25 after they have trapped their victim, they then introduce kyc to steal their identity.
7485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't join spam bounties. Easy money does not help you to (quickly) get rich! on: March 23, 2019, 11:16:13 AM
Speaking on your topic, it's simple as saying easy come easy go. Money that comes easily such as promoting Scam tokens through bounty to help defraud others doesn't last long, that's the reason we have numerous scams carried out by the same set of individual those type of wealth won't make you rich if that's the reason for engaging in such act and if you partake in any scam bounty on forum you're liking to get red tagged as DT members frown against such act.
7486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you still hodling that shitcoin? on: March 22, 2019, 12:26:32 PM
There are some tokens in my ethereum wallet that have lost value to the extent I don't think they can ever recover even if the bull market starts tomorrow due to the level of competition in the altcoin market. I also bought some coins but can't remember the password or name of exchange i bought them on (thinking it was cryptopia) I didn't bother transferring it off the exchange and most of them were bought around 1satoshi.

Why did you bought those coins in first place? After you answer that question ask yourself if those coins still fulfill that purpose.

What other purpose could you guess altcoin are bought for except making profit? I bought the tokens because I had spare cash mostly gotten from fork coins and also through my cashout policy on well established coins. And no one could had predicted the type of bear market we're experiencing we only anticipated a correction not this massive decline in price. Cash possibly lost in those token doesn't concerns me I just want to know why you're still hodling those shitcoins.
7487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Locking Bounty Rewards To Avoid Dumping on: March 22, 2019, 10:11:27 AM
Locking bounty allocations won't prevent dumping instead it'll encourage it due to anger from bounty participants when those allocation are finally distributed. Many projects thinks locking bounty allocations is the solution to their tokens or coin dumping not knowing dump of coins/token are result of lack of faith in the project and excessive supply of it in the market due to selling of tokens with bonuses in presale for very cheap price.

Irrespective of what allocation gets locked be it investors, advisor, team or even bounty allocations. A token/coin without a future will still get dump and those with little real world application might suffer some few decline in prices but in long run will be profitable.

7489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Strategy on: March 22, 2019, 06:00:00 AM
Gambling sites know all the Strategies which can make the customer win, so they have already the control in place.

You can't general this, although some gambling platform employs researcher to research on new gambling strategy and study then to help improve their platform, not all gambling platform can afford that especially the new ones and beside new strategy are coming out so the gambling platform can't know all the wining strategy out there but they could be aware of majority.
7490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why are you still hodling that shitcoin? on: March 22, 2019, 05:44:28 AM

Back to my ethereum wallet, each time I see those worthless token I just laugh and continue with what I login my wallet to do. If you ask me why I'm still holding does tokens in my wallet I can't give a reply. Why are you still holding those shitcoins sorry altcoin
7491  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency exchange volume: More fake than real? on: March 21, 2019, 08:06:29 PM
I don't think that's issue is only peculiar to shit coin alone I have had such drama when checking the price of bitcoin on coin market cap it doesn't completely tally with that of an exchange I use(luno to be more precise) the price on coin market cap is always higher

True, it isn't peculiar to shitcoins only but due to the facts those coins/tokens can easily be manipulated due to low volume, they're usually the target.

Concerning the price on coinmarketcap, the price you see there is an average price from combination of most exchange and not the actual price of the coin/token you're viewing. that's why the price there is always different from most exchange especially small ones like LUNO.
7492  Economy / Reputation / Re: Promotion with merit system and new rank requirements. It's possible. on: March 21, 2019, 07:49:46 PM
(3) Never copy and paste without links to sources, or without quotes
This portion does not really increase ones chances of ranking up, it only ensures you do not get banned. Following the rules does not earn you merits.

It might not increase your chances of ranking up (due to low merit) but it can earn you some merit. I have gotten merited severally for providing answer to questions asked and link source of information in the process, also I have personally taken my time to search through user post history to merit their decent post just because they practice decent posting habit like avoiding quote spam or off topic replies and If I  remember clearly, jet cash has merited all those that commented before him on a thread without unnecessary qouting OP.

What I'm trying to say is obeying forum rules can also help you in ranking up as well as avoiding ban.
7493  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: best wallets to use on: March 21, 2019, 07:00:48 PM
You do yourself no good by hodling you coins/tokens for long term in wallets you don't have control over your private key, there's no difference between them and exchanges since your fund can be hack or you get denial access to your cryptocurrency for some stupid reasons. If your intentions isn't for trading or short term usages, I don't advice you use them.

Ps: the best wallet to use are hardware/paper wallet and nothing else.
7494  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Should bitcointalk play a part in educating its members?. on: March 21, 2019, 09:43:25 AM
bitcointalk would not be the best place for that since most members on here already have an idea about crypto.

Not all members on forum have idea and some have little idea, some users get register on forum to learn for example I don't have knowledge on the technical aspect of bitcoin and of recent I have been visiting the technical discussion baord mostly to read as I developed interest in learning more on that aspect to impact my society when the time is right. I want to be more than the average bitcoin users. So I believe the forum is the best place for this as it's almost (except data) cost free at the same time
you can earn while you learn more.
7495  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: What is bitcoin's largest obstacle to bitcoin adoption? on: March 21, 2019, 08:03:37 AM
Well bitcoin is not enough.
Multiple coins are needed.
Not 1800 listed on coinmarketcap
But more then just bitcoin.

That's true, without altcoin the industry will just be boring. No competition (although in the current altcoin market I can't still find a worthy competitor) but few are trying. Ok lets say everyone buys bitcoin then what? What next after that.
7496  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: How would be a world without ignorance and stupidity? on: March 21, 2019, 07:55:16 AM
Have you been in a classroom where everyone seems to be intelligent? I mean their intelligents in on or almost on the same level. I won't like to live in a world like that, learning (the motivation that keeps me moving) will stop as there isn't anyone intelligent then me to learn from. The world will just be boring than it currently is.

7498  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US dollar backed by oil? What do you think? on: March 21, 2019, 04:38:18 AM
Is US an oil producing state for their currency to be backed by oil? They don't even have oil to start with. The US dollar was (I repeat) was backed by gold but currently it isn't backed by any previous metal or resources it's just a bubble waiting to bust. The US dollars is backed by lies, printed just like any other fiat currency from thin air to pay debts they're owing mostly China and other. The US dollars is just a joke.
7499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's your favorite to win this year's Europa League ? on: March 21, 2019, 02:53:54 AM
I vote for Arsenal, because Chelsea isn't making a good season so far and I bet that they won't solve their problems with their italian manager.Perhaps Mourinho will return some day. Grin
The Arsenal manager had won Europa League three times,so he knows what he's doing. Grin

Are you forgetting something, Chelsea misbehavior (inconsistency) are only occuring in the premier league, in Europa this season, they're unbeatable and the favorite to win so I think their perfect run will continue all the way until the finals then luck can play it's part and sarri wins first trophy for club and his managing career.
7500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why My Ether Wallet Showing So Much Balance on: March 21, 2019, 02:41:49 AM
just sell it if it rises high,

No he can't it's just a system price bug resulting from a miscalculation of the pricing setting bot. even if he wanted to sell those coins they won't cost that much on the supposed exchanges so there's no need trying to sell. Next time you see such miscalculation, try using other ethereum Blockchain explorers like etherscan to view your account or wait for some few mins/hours for the system to reset and show correct figures.
