7481  Economy / Reputation / Re: calling out Thule on: May 13, 2019, 07:13:45 AM
I am going to have to disagree with your conclusions on this one. You are free to do as you wish, but I stand by my statement that a defamatory statement against an online identity can be a tort, even if the person's IRL identity is not known.

K... Supporting example(s) please?

If you were to go up to a random person on the street and say they are cheating on their spouse, you would be slandering them (assuming this is untrue), even if you do not know who they are. If the person is not a "public figure" ignorance of the truth is not a defense to libel nor is relying on inaccurate information.

Again, not true. Not only do you not know who you are slandering (if the person is truly "random"), but somebody else (a third party) needs to be present in order for it to be considered defamatory. You can't defame somebody if you don't know who they are.

I found this from a legal blog:

Quote
Identification of the plaintiff in the defamatory statement is a one of the three elements[1] that a plaintiff must establish to succeed in a claim for defamation.

[1]     The other two elements are that the words are defamatory (in that they would lower the reputation of the plaintiff in the minds of reasonable members of society), and that the words were communicated to at least one other person beside the plaintiff.

This was an interesting article and in the court case mentioned it was shown that the identity of the internet pseudonym had already been previously disclosed several times, meaning chances are the defendants knew the actual name of the person they were libeling.

How much was Thule making in signature campaigns before getting red tagged for what you and he are considering to be "libel"? Like $100 a month, tops? No real lawyer is going to touch this "case."

this one is for Thule the pajeet who got no lawyer

He can probably hire QS for pretty cheap but I don't recommend it.

Well thanks for that.  Roll Eyes There goes an hour (and a half) of my life I'll never get back. Great "research" OP.

You guys do know there's porn on the internet, right? I mean, I've never seen any myself but my friends say it can be found if you look hard enough and I have no reason to believe that they would lie to me.

What's "porn"?

Is there any ability to pre line your tokens before official start?

So you paid spammers are still bumping this garbage? That's means there's a strong chance that it's a scam. All you ever do is get paid to bump scams. No reason to think this would be an exception.
7486  Other / Meta / Re: DT1 member banned: Complete overview of users on DT1 and DT2 and their ratings. on: May 11, 2019, 05:22:20 PM
Ok so let's get to the meat of it: Why was lovesmayfamilies banned? Maybe they were rushed onto DT1 too quickly but they were great at what they did.

Edit: ok saw the meta thread. Hope he gets an unban even if no longer eligible for DT1.
7487  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela Trump re-elect split on: May 11, 2019, 01:52:52 PM
2016 would have been a cakewalk for the Democrats, had they conducted the primaries honestly. Sanders would have won the primaries and he could have won the POTUS elections by a landslide. But the establishment Dems had other ideas and they rigged the votes so that Hillary could win. And in the end, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Trump.

I'm inclined to agree with you, however we don't know that either outcome would have happened for certain. Things can only unfold 1 way in this universe and that's the way they unfolded.

What we do know is that Bernie is way less hated than Hillary. This is evidenced by the lack of a "Never Bernie" movement. This is what leads me to believe he would have easily beaten Trump as Trumps "win" (he lost the popular vote by the largest number of voters ever for an elected president) was more of a statement of how much people disliked Hillary rather than how much they liked Trump.

you read inattentively, the competition was the same before, but then there was no loss of dominance https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=428589.msg50932322#msg50932322

The competition changes every month, week, or day. It is never static. And I'm not clicking your link to read more of your incoherent gibberish.

BTW what's the decay ratio for WO Merits? If I've received 4 WO Merits does that mean I have 2 sWO Merits?

Yes.  For every 2 merits you receive, you will also receive 1 sendable merit.

Otherwise those smerits do not decay.

If you are a source (which I hear you are... hahahahahaha), then your source merits decay if they are not used from 30 days of the time that you receive them.

I was facetiously talking about WO Merits. Those are actually more rare than Regular Merits. And I am a "merit source" indeed but I get a piddly amount of monthly sMerits per month compared to you. Just as I am a piddly BTC holder when compared to you.
7490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 11, 2019, 05:39:17 AM
BCH has already grown 4 times, but bitcoin only 2 times, buy BSV before it's too late, it has not grown at all
BSV is real bitcoin, BCH is a forked, BTC is an altcoin by satoshi, stop FUD please  Grin

need all three bitcoins because the loss of dominance started then due to the block size limitation

As was previously explained to you, the price of BTC has more than tripled since its "loss of dominance". There is some decent competition in the market but it doesn't have the word "Bitcoin" in its name.
7491  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 11, 2019, 05:31:56 AM
The mental firepower of the average forkboi is simply astounding.

+1 WOsMerit

I like where your going with this..tell us more.

Well lucky for you there's another fine example present already.

BCH has already grown 4 times, but bitcoin only 2 times, buy BSV before it's too late, it has not grown at all

Ok the first part of this comment is just incorrect. Not much fun really. I mean it is shockingly incorrect and based on God knows what frame of time was floating around in his empty vessel of a brain, but the bolded part is what is really telling.

Hes basically saying, "The price of pyrite and gold have both been increasing while this turd hasn't. Thus the price of this turd should go up too. Buy turd now while still cheap."

BTW what's the decay ratio for WO Merits? If I've received 4 WO Merits does that mean I have 2 sWO Merits?
7492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 11, 2019, 05:14:46 AM
I think the amount of BTC, BCH and BSV will come back to this line

1. No.
2. In order for that to happen your trend would have to be played out for 12-16 years before all 3 coins could get to 33% dominance or less.
3. No.

The mental firepower of the average forkboi is simply astounding.
7493  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela Trump re-elect split on: May 11, 2019, 04:57:15 AM
Also the fact that you think this is all to drum up votes in what is already setting up to be a LANDSLIDE for him

Based on what evidence?

I wish the dems wouldn't run Biden against Trump but all available polls show an easy victory for Biden in 2020 if that should be the case. You don't have to believe the polls but you should at least demonstrate some rationale behind your opinions if you want to chastise others so viciously for their own.

Biden was not the best candidate for the presidency. The democrats should have chosen a stronger candidate to challenge Trump.

Agreed. But it's still early, anything can happen. If during the debates Biden demonstrates himself to be clearly unelectable the DNC will have no choice but to back Bernie... Or, one of the other candidates, though the chances of anyone superseding Bernie are extremely low.

Its gotta be Bernie with Tulsi as VP. That's a combination that will invigorate sidelined dems.

Yeah this convo has nothing to do with Venezuela anymore I don't blame FH for splitting it.
7494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: May 11, 2019, 04:46:28 AM
Bitcoin Cash is near it's $300 resistance level, will it break it? Read more in this technical analysis:

https://coincodex.com/article/3551/bitcoin-cash-price-analysis-bch-faces-tough-resistance-can-the-bulls-break-300/

Lately it takes roughly a 5% rise in BTC for BCH to go up 1%, so if BTC goes up by another 15% or so, then sure, it can break $300. I find it to be incredibly overpriced at the moment ($100/coin is closer to fair value imo) but markets are irrational.
7495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NIM] - Nimiq - The Browser Based Blockchain on: May 11, 2019, 04:13:30 AM
the coin is dead. price is down 50% in the last two weeks. github is dead. no progress. only empty promises.

scam.

Oh look. Another newb writing in big red font with the same local time as all the other fudders. Well if it's dead (price of NIM has nearly tripled in the last 3 months) guess you should move on.

Trinkler is a stupid shitcoiner

Where is the fucking Agora Trade??

Why do you pretend to care? You've already been proven as a fraudulent non investor. You got caught in your lies about the size of your investment. Just give it up already. Youre not fooling anybody.
7496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 11, 2019, 03:42:06 AM
I came up with a new metric for measuring the price of BTC.

It's the Signature Campaign / Rent Indicator.

After I learned that Bitrefill sells AirBnB gift certificates, I've been using my sig campaign to pay for my "rent" while abroad.

Current % of rent paid by signature campaign: 117%

I've watched it climb all the way from 80% over the last month and a half and I gotta say I'm pretty stoked.
7497  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lending money = DT Trust? on: May 10, 2019, 05:02:47 PM
You cant put dollar values on what is considered worth leaving a trust rating. The average daily salary where I live is about $5. If you make $20 a day you're basically killing it. Sure, you can shit on people for being poor if you want but that doesn't change the fact that a dollar goes a lot farther in some places than others. Therefore, people have different standards for what is considered to be a lot of money and just because it's not significant to you doesn't mean it's not significant to billions of other people.

You can't limit trust farming to just one or two subsections - why not expand it to everything that falls under the marketplace section? Ultimately deciding whether or not somebody is trustworthy is somewhat subjective, just like it is for deciding somebody is untrustworthy.

People need to use their best judgment instead of relying upon "standards" suggested by some but that don't actually exist. And then people will be judged on their judgment, which I think is fair and pretty much mirrors the system we already have in place.

But addressing what OP is asking: yeah you shouldn't be involved in trading or lending specifically for gaining trust. That's lame.
7498  Economy / Reputation / Re: S_Therapist = mdayonliner on: May 10, 2019, 11:32:06 AM
Yeah, Mdayonliner seems a nerd like us so probably he is still on the forum with another account.

Is strange for a person to change his habit from one day to another, is more probable for a person to do the same thing in a different way.

Yep, just look for another newb that starts posting on Meta right out of the gate, just like S_Therapist did... Of course there's a good chance he's still reading this thread and may now resort to spreading his posts around different sections, but I'm always wary of new or newish accounts that have such a keen interest in Meta.

Thought this was pretty funny. Peter Todd on Twitter:

Quote
I'm now convinced Craig Wright is Satoshi.

Satoshi took many steps to stay anonymous.

But the most extraordinary step possible would be to make your real identity have a mountain of evidence _against_ being Satoshi. Which Craig has done.

The problem is you were recently caught using Google Translator to do Hindi translations so I do not think the admin (can mods actually unban accounts?) is likely to consider giving you a pass.
