7481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading outside of crypto? on: October 09, 2018, 09:05:15 AM
I've not really traded outside of Cryptocurrencies.
Then why are you commenting here to increase your post count? Roll Eyes

Quote
I think trading is generally risky.
Any type of speculative market is risky. Be it stocks, bonds, securities, cryptocurrencies, gambling, commodities. All of them.

Quote
if you want to trade outside of crypto.but we should need to understand how he can get started with trading.too confident is not good other.
LOL get started with what? Like walk into an exchange and ask them how to make money? You guys really make me laugh.

You can also trade in stock exchange and hope that you will find it better than crypto trading. In crypto trading you can only trade in those currencies in which you invest your money, while in stock exchange you can buy and sell any product shares just in seconds.
You have no idea what you are talking about. The ICOs provide you with tokens that can be compared to the stock markets shares. So in that way they are similar. Pumping and dumping is also the same and FUD marketing is also same.

Quote
But don’t be greedy because greedy people always lose their money in stock and in crypto trading.
Thats always true.
7482  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to reach a high rank nowadays? on: October 09, 2018, 08:54:37 AM
Yes, I can see that it's much more difficult to rank up now than it was before merit was added. It's very easy to get enough of it to become a member or even full member, but you have to really work for it and be lucky enough to get spotted and rewarded.
In my opinion people are trying too hard to get spotted. They should stop thinking about merits and continue what they did best. Let the shitposters remain shitposters because they dont contribute anything expect their traffic to the sites finances. No good comes from them and so they dont deserve to rank up. Plain and simple.

Quote
When I see people asking about merit or those who are getting discouraged I always ask them: why do you need it so much? If it's only because of the signature money then maybe you are exactly where you should be.
Newbies would have to spend for Copper membership then. That also is good for the forums finance. Still they wont get ranked above that because they are here to get money and that attitude itself will make them shitposters.

You seem to have gotten your first 2 merits easily enough (by making this topic). So you are your own proof one can make progress here.
Someone just got scammed of their 2 sMerits. Roll Eyes
7483  Other / Meta / Re: QUALITY over quantity! on: October 09, 2018, 08:51:01 AM
I don't see why anyone would want to buy an upvote if it does nothing but keep the post on the top of the board.
They would buy it if it was necessary to rank up. Like for merits there has been an internal shadow marketplace grown up due the need of newbies who need to rank up an people having sMerits to spend them on. Still this is just a comparison with the upvote system. Lets not make bitcointalk another reddit or facebook with this so called upvote system and hope its never implemented.

Quote
And the issue of alt account could be solved by giving members weighted votes based on their merits. We can go one further by using 'earned merits'and not those airdropped.
How does weighted votes based on merit segregate alt accounts? Its allowed to have alt accounts in the forum but its not allowed to cheat with them on giveaways and campaigns. But if there are several merit exchanges between accounts then there arises a suspicion of them being connected subject to several points.
7484  Economy / Securities / Re: Investors on BitcoinTalk on: October 08, 2018, 03:25:00 PM
I believe the closest thing we have for such investments in the "Securities" section. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=78.0

Good luck on getting investors on your project if you are looking for any. Smiley
7485  Other / Meta / Re: why my post desapear?? on: October 08, 2018, 09:13:27 AM
It is sad (but somehow not surprising) that your 20,000th post would be "read the rules". Is this what this forum has come to? Undecided
The sad reality is that even after a few more zeros are added after that 2, it will remain the same. Not just in this forum but every other forum in the internet has the same problem. Noobs never like to read rules before they post because they are too busy to search for ways to get paid than follow instructions and add a feature that allows bottomfeeders to earn from posting shit that too an a forum associated with "digital money" - you get the beggar-virus extravaganza topped off with a load of shitposting.
7486  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to reach a high rank nowadays? on: October 08, 2018, 09:08:06 AM
-snip-
OP, if you are going to make threads with a opening post of s huge paragraph resembling the 12mark essay question of an Ancient History paper, dont expect to get any merits. Some generous soul did give you some I can see but thats not how you can earn merits here. Here are some stuff that you would want to keep track of :
1. Keep your content short and simple - you dont need to over-exaggerate what you want to say and "Meta" is not the section for making blogs on your personal opinion. Use Medium/Steemit for that.
2. Try to read more than write. Learn more than what you say.
3. Do not post just to increase your post count or hoping to get merits. Post if you have  something constructive to say.
4. Last but not the least, stop refreshing your profile every 2 minutes to check how many new merits you received. Grin

The last one goes out for all the newbies who are reading this. You guys are wasting your internet bills Cheesy
7487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break from gambling on: October 08, 2018, 09:03:09 AM
Also important that you detach yourself from all unwanted stuff and especially where money is involved you better be staying away because it can take away your money as you lose the bets rather  than wining the amount from it.
You could detach yourself from gambling and out your money into other stuff. Grin
Those who are risk takers just can stop themselves from doing such things. For them a good investment would also be good but they will fail because they have not patience. In gambling though patience is less important for games like dice, slots etc. So its what attracts them to it. Trading is also not their cup of tea because they are not willing to do any analysis or study.

maybe you have had a bitter experience at gambling, so you can learn from your experience. so that you can master the self-control that every gambler must have
Some people do end up with a bitter experience but they still dont learn their lesson. Say they promise to give up gambling but after 2weeks they are back. Self-control is important and determination to stick to the rule is also important.
7488  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bottom of BTC descending channel is 3000$? on: October 08, 2018, 08:54:11 AM
That was maybe a possibility when market was crumbling, but facts are now different, technical indicators are showing bottom price 6k and most of the traders use that as bottom now.
Bottom price is 6k was the prediction considering the current bitcoin mining operations otherwise becoming unprofitable. So they would buy bitcoin if it drops below that price in order to maintain the support level. Considering that the FUD and panic selling does not happen it will break the barrier and go up. But the impetus for buying is not coming at the moment. Embarrassed

I disagree with this analysis. The bottom is the price of 4000, all that is lower is chaos and a very long correction of the BTC price. The bottom should be torn off, then the price will become psychologically stable for the people.
Considering bitcoin drops to 5k, people are going to buy more coins and invest into it. Thosse who could not buy previously because prices were high. So that will show a correction in price.
7489  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to get in and get out in Bear/Bull Markets on: October 07, 2018, 09:42:21 AM
During bull race, its very easy to exit your trade. One thing is clear, you are already making profit and you will want to make more but the right thing to do is to exit trade while you are on your profit. It could be hard during bear market.
I think everyone here knows that one should sell for profit while its in bull market. You dont need to reiterate that except to newbies. Roll Eyes

You need to be really lucky to have get away from the bear maket because we don't know about that until it happens maybe panic sellers are the one who stay away from the bear and also from bull markets. If you really want to make money in crypto currency don't try to stay away you need to take such risks.
Staying away is not a bad thing. You can stop trading and watch the market for a period until the tides turn. Its for every trader to know when to buy and when to sell. You would not want to give in to the FUD on the market and sell at loss. Unless its some really bad shitcoin you wont want to do it. For major altcoins and bitcoin hodling till we see a uptrend is how it should be done.
7490  Other / Meta / Re: QUALITY over quantity! on: October 07, 2018, 09:36:32 AM
Spam mega threads seems to be one of the major problems faced by the forum today, and it is destroying quality interactions in some of our major boards, as it is the first thing you stumble on once you stride into those boards. And not every user is excited to was through tons of shitposts in search of quality.
It has been discussed for several times already. Mods are doing their best to control spam and threads which are getting out of hand. But they are also human. Undecided

Quote
My question is why is a thread put in the first page of a board simply because it has high comments or views, or it was just recently commented on by any user?
It the system of any forum to bring up the thread in the front if it was the last commented one.

Quote
We can't win the war against spam if we keep highlighting this mega threads because they have large views or comments. This goes against the ethics of 'quality over quantity' and this means that such boards will never become old, as the OPs are not willing to lock them.
Which is why people like me have suggested previously to simply lock threads which have 25+ pages of replies since the OP never comes back.

Quote
I propose an upvote and downvote system. Now, I'm well aware this has been suggested severally and rejected, but if designed properly it could effectively end spam in the forum.

If we allowed users to upvote a post, the post could be weighted based on the positive votes it got and would be highlighted on the first few pages of a board. To limit abuse, a users vote could be weighed based on the number of merits he/she has, so legendary member > Hero member > Sr member and so on.
So effectively the forum would highlight posts upvoted by the community, and posts that receive a down vote would be pushed further down and hopefully interactions on them would reduce till they are lost in the mass.
This way posts would be weighed based on its quality and not quantity and interactions in this boards would be encouraged. And users won't have to look to deep in search of quality.
Weightage by giving merit to a post is good. But the problem here is that not much merit distribution occurs in those threads. Its normal that merit sources dont want to visit or comment in those threads.

A search by merit option was also suggested by LoyceV at one time.

The voting alone doesn't sound right.
Its because it will be heavily abused by self-righteous babies who think themselves to be privileged to spam and get paid in return. The merit system for meriting good quality posts is enough in my opinion.
7491  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ETF more likely to be approved but why price is going down? on: October 07, 2018, 09:26:08 AM
ETF is not the only reason in this regard.Maybe people are willing to wait for the future, see how things go by.Legalization should be the key factor here, people are waiting to see the acceptance of bitcoin.
By all means you can forget about that. Lawyers and Law firms have better things to do than to legalize something that has been called bad for a long period. Though fiat has been used to funding all sorts of criminal activity people will blame crypto to be the source of funding. Thats by nature what no-coiners want to say and thus the general public opinion and why it wont get any legal traction, at least not for now.

ETF will take long effect to market. Its good for market but it will not instantly effecting on the price. With ETF approved by regulator, investor will more confident and it make them make a plan to enter crypto market. I am believe the price will increase in near future
Your point makes no sense. Without ETF was there a market that was not worth investing in? Did the 201 pump happen for nothing? ETF may happen but they are not going to be reason of market rise. Drops in price will happen if they get delayed though.
7492  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin discussion is back on: October 06, 2018, 08:39:41 AM
Rewind back to about a month ago,it was simply pathetic to think of crossing paths with the bitcoin section,it was an eye sore to say the least, with no less  than 70 replies per thread and the comments still flooding in,it was even more pathetic considering this forum was named after that section,it ought to be sacred and sanctified, spammers didn't care though..
Its still the same. Unless there is a control over the flood of bounty spammers with oneliners and regurgitated half-digested posters there wont be any end to the spam there.

Quote
But it's fair to say that for over a month or so now and that section is now back to what it was created for,and that's real bitcoin discussion, you can now ask a honest question and get replies from high ranked members in there, the section needed to breathe fresh air,and that's exactly what it's doing right now,I do hope it stays that way..
How did you come to the conclusion that it is under control? I go there everyday once to find out one or two threads worth posting in and sadly 80% of the time I turn away. At times I do post there but probably within the first few pages of the thread. The person who makes the post rarely comes back to see replies and thus they are not worth following up.

Quote
With that been said the Altcoin discussion is still writhing under a myriad of throes of ailments called spam, there is no thread less than 70 replies in there and threads started 6 months back still make it to the top.. I think we should put on our gloves and return that section back to what it should be
The altcoins section is another mess. I cant even start to think how much workload is on the mods and how they are able to maintain their sanity after going through all the reports piling up.
7493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should investors trust ethereum anymore? on: October 06, 2018, 08:26:24 AM
When you invest in a coin you must have confidence in that coin. Investors choosing ETH for investment means that they have seen the potential of ETH. This is also considered the queen of the electronic money market.
Its nothing like that. The price of ETH goes up when there are more use cases of ETH. The biggest use case is ICOs.

The boom in the ICO market last year drove the price of ETH with it. Its not rocket science that people who were willing to invest into the ICOs bought ETH and thus pumped the price to 1.3k $ and now the ICOs are all down and the same people are panic selling away their inevstments for ETH (mostly) and BTC as well. So there is the dump that you see.
7494  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daily trading experience on: October 06, 2018, 08:22:53 AM
It's Ok to take some profit now daily because lots of altcoins and tokens ico getting drop's its price even the project looks good but im buying only coins in a low price and start to hold it for a long term
You are contradicting your own statement. How can you make profit when the price of the coin is going down? And how does that add up to buying more coins to at the dip? Buying them is a strategic move for future and not an immediate profit.

although very little profit is not an important problem there are still advantages because many people lose their money and lose when the market is unstable like this
Those who day trade regularly put in a large volume of coins to trade. Its not like the 100$ in a month like the hobby traders. They do analysis and keep on making new orders according to the style they play with. So end of the day the "small profits" end up into large ones. It might seem as though they are losing money but they are actually fooling you.
7495  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ETF more likely to be approved but why price is going down? on: October 05, 2018, 09:57:00 AM
The decision on the BTC ETF will be made, most likely no earlier than February 2019. Do not hope for a quick adoption of this decision.
That was the last declared date. Lets see if it gets delayed again. Grin Once again blame the centralized money hungry people for this. They wont even understand the effect of this on the market.

But think about it - when ETFs do get approval, stock and commodity market traders will enter in the crypto market. This will raise the volume and market capitalization but it wont change the panic selling and whales scene. Those people will still be there because the ones who will enter will be the same humans.

Again price drops during this time are not due to ETFs, people are cashing out money because they dont have patience to hold for the year end or just plain panic selling after high doses of FUD Cheesy
7496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin price increase has three factors. on: October 05, 2018, 09:53:21 AM
it is true that many factors influence the increase in bitcoin prices, and these three factors are very interesting and the most widely applied and positive public news also affects the price of rising bitcoin because of the emergence of public confidence in buying more.
FUD news pulls down the price because it instills fear and doubt into the hearts of people. The ones who have been with crypto for long know this and those who are entering the market with a background of stock trading also are aware of this. These people are resistant or immune to such news. But the problem is with the panic sellers who have half-knowledge about crypto and are aware of some people claiming it as scam/ponzi (falsely) - they are stimulated by such news and end up selling at loss.

So basically the drop in price is due to the panic sellers and those who are cashing out due to genuine needs.
7497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break from gambling on: October 05, 2018, 09:45:48 AM
Same with mine too.I do take a break especially when i felt that i am overspending my time and money to some casinos which is not supposed to happen.
If that is not supposed to happen then you might be addicted to some extent. You would want to prevent that from progressing it and thus refrain from gambling for some time. A short break from gambling often works out nicely to notice things that you might have left here and there and would need to work on.

Quote
I just make quality time with my family and friends since i have not been physically present in some of the family activities because i was focused more in gambling.
True and being close to them only makes you feel good in case you had a bad time in gambling. Take note of when you are playing too much because it will only affect you in a bad way. Also find out other methods to keep up the pace and you will be able to prevent addiction to gambling.
7498  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dangerous price area on: October 05, 2018, 09:41:02 AM
People do only focus out on price increase without even realizing or making theirselves prepare on price decrease.
Thats the young blood who wants to get into the bitcoin badwagon before its too late and takes off. Basically the get-rich-quick people who dont understand or try to understand the technology and ideology behind bitcoin and its usage. Even if prices drop this does not mean a coin is dead but they fail to understand it.

It seems to me that we are now experiencing a buffer zone for the coin market prices. Also, its possible the price will go up soon to fulfil the expectation in a way but not as high as it did last year.
Its recovery but it has been playing around the same price level for some period of time. We see the small uptrends and then downtrends. Most of them are not crossing the 6500$-6700$. Means there is support but their also resistance to cross this level. The touching of 7k$ will take a hell lot of time if this trend continues for a few more weeks.
7499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Get [ETH] for 3 comments 💡 [your real opinion] 💡 on: October 04, 2018, 02:31:16 PM
1.You are incentivising people to post in your threads. This is against the forum rules. You will get punished for that.
2.If you are really interested in getting exposure to your project from the forum contact a bounty manager to set up some campaigns for you.
7500  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are your opinions of shapeshift on: October 04, 2018, 10:12:55 AM
I am intrigued about using shapeshift...I have heard that I can purchase litecoins with bitcoins, but I wish to be anonymous when doing so. Can I make this transaction WITHOUT submitting ANY of my personal information. What are your experiences with this service good and/or bad.

Recently shapeshift has started making registrations for using their exchange. Till now it used to be my first choice to exchange some coins quick and while in emergency. Simple to use and hassle free. Alas those days are now gone since they added a KYC/AML guideline for exchanges. You have to submit some personal information to be able to use them.

This goes against the anonymity principles of crypto but since they have their service and we need it, we have look for other sites. You cna try some alternative exchange linked ot your bank account if your country allows you to purchase crypto. If your country does not then you should stay away from crypto in general to be safe.
