7541  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lauda breaking forum rules ? on: February 18, 2019, 08:49:00 PM
On my way home from work today I heard an ad on the radio for a betting site! Minors can't gamble! When I got home, I immediately called the government to complain, and request that all radio broadcasts be immediately banned. Then I turned on my TV and saw an advert for Bud Light! Minors can't drink! I phoned the government back to request all TV broadcasts be banned. I quickly checked Facebook and saw an advert for a BMW! Minors can't drive! I called the government. I decided to read the newspaper instead, and saw adverts for a local wedding shop, estate agent, and tattoo parlor! Minors can't get married, buy property, or get a tattoo! Tried phoning the government again, but turns out they've blocked my number. I've emailed them instead.
That very nicely points out the absurdity of OP's argument.  Not that I think for one minute that he's being sincere or thinking about anything aside from his hatred of Lauda, but if he was, this is how silly his requests becomes.  Well done.
7542  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is currently in an uptrend reversal. on: February 18, 2019, 08:23:05 PM
OP, be careful. The whalecumulators are scanning these topics daily, and will unleash the FUD, followed by crashing the price once they smell some bullishness from the plebs. Cool
I'm no conspiracy theorist, but this post made me chuckle a bit--and it's also nice to see bitcoin up around $3800 too.  Seems like the price has been very flat for way too long, though I'm far from certain this isn't just random fluctuation.

Whales don't read this forum unless they're the old guard who were here in the beginning.  The newer money folks couldn't care less about a discussion forum; they want a quick profit and likely don't care about the bitcoin community.  They'd probably find it extremely caustic if they ever did visit bitcointalk and would run screaming, never to return.
7543  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcointalk.org collectible coin? on: February 18, 2019, 07:12:23 PM
People who just want to kiss your ass or people just looking for free s**t!  Either way it’s sad.

Or a group of people that have been around here long enough, that have been scammed enough times, grown thicker skins as a result, learned more than most do in a lifetime, and have come to appreciate an "officially sanctioned" forums collectible.

Either way, suck my fat black cock.

 M'kay ?
Lol.  I don't know what category I fall under here, but I'm a fan of the forum--not necessarily physical bitcoin collectibles--and that's what drew my attention.  I had suggested a deck of cards a few months ago with much the same intent (not commemorating the 10 year anniversary, though).

I'm not looking for a freebie, nor do I think I'd even qualify for one since I haven't even been here 4 years yet.  Just voicing my support....and now I'll slowly back away, shutting the door gently on my way out.  Peace out.
7544  Other / Meta / Re: Asking to ban of gambling advertisement on this forum on: February 18, 2019, 06:35:49 PM
Give me a break, OP.  You don't care about anything but your own vendetta against DT--not gambling addiction, kids, or anything else.  It's as transparent as it gets.

You really want to censor advertising in order to protect people?  I can't think of anything less in the spirit of bitcoin than that.  FFS, just give up this foolish quest of yours, which is only getting more desperate as time goes on.  No one supports you, which is why you've had to resort to using sockpuppets like ito-marketing to make it appear as if anyone is listening.
7545  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lauda breaking forum rules ? on: February 17, 2019, 10:32:05 PM
Didn't someone try this exact same thing a few months ago?  I seem to recall this accusation being leveled against Lauda and/or other members.

In any case, this isn't a community issue, it's not a reputation issue, and Lauda isn't the only member advertising a gambling site.  In addition, Theymos is well aware that members are advertising for casinos and if there are any legal issues, that's on him.

This is nothing more than a witch hunt, and it'll go nowhere.  The fight is getting desperate, eh Thule?
7546  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcointalk.org collectible coin? on: February 17, 2019, 07:47:55 PM
So basically only Chipmixer campaigners get it?  Roll Eyes
Lol, I don't know about that but I would certainly like to know what those criteria would be--and I'd absolutely love to own such a neat thing.  I don't even care if the coin was made out of precious metal or loaded with btc or anything else.  It's a great idea, IMO, and I fully support it.
7547  Other / Meta / Re: Delete 1-2 feedback yearly? on: February 17, 2019, 07:09:13 PM
I'm all for second chances, but time isn't the only factor involved when I'm consider feedback removal.  Sometimes people learn their lesson, sometimes not--and often it's hard to tell whether they have or not.

Generally I look at earned positive trust since the time I left my neg.  If a member has shown evidence of good behavior, and enough time has gone by, I'll think about removing any red trust I left.  That's happened, but it's rare.  Sometimes you get people like Quickseller who never figure out where they screwed up, and thus they should remain tagged.
7548  Economy / Reputation / Re: Remove marlboroza (me, me) from DT2 on: February 17, 2019, 01:02:59 AM
Again self-moderated topic from person who tag people for self moderated topics Cheesy
You have no place in DT12000 not in DT2.
shalom, take the highway
Funny how when you threatened to leave the forum about a month ago after trying to squeeze 0.1BTC out of that guy who had his money stuck in cloudbet, there was deafening silence.  Actually I think there was encouragement....to leave.  Why don't you?
7549  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted posts on: February 16, 2019, 09:19:42 PM
It was a self- moderated thread in which your post got deleted, so there's nothing you can do about it if that's what you're asking.

The post should be quoted in the PM you got, but there won't be a link to the thread--nor should there be, because the OP is dropping a not-so-subtle hint that they don't value your contribution.  It's going to happen from time to time.  Just roll with it like the rest of us do.
7550  Economy / Economics / Re: Study says 79% of cryptocurrency event attendees are men on: February 15, 2019, 06:11:15 PM
Because men are risk taker, and women are quiet hesitant to take the risk.
Lol, I don't think this is too far from the truth, even if it is completely anti-PC.

The fact is that there's nothing prohibiting women from doing whatever they want to do in the crypto world--it's not a fault of the community that there are so many men in it, and this is like all of the gender studies majors in college whining about how there aren't enough females in the  STEM field.  Leave it to the men to blaze the trail and then let the feminists follow behind, complaining about "inclusion".

What a world.
7551  Economy / Economics / Re: The paradox of Bitcoin Cash on: February 15, 2019, 12:50:48 AM
I do not know the logic of BCH but I always believe in this coin, I see that they always grow taller than BTC and ETH, I always choose to hold this coin, they give me high profit.

Cheesy I couldn't stop to laugh after reading your post.  You don't know "the logic" but you "always believe in"!
Roger Ver alone will destroy Bitcoin cash and it will become a hated coin, abandoned by everyone, even the fans will left!
Nobody is using Bitcoin cash... only the tradings bots... Even the less popular altcoins like Dogecoin have more TXs than Bitcoin cash
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/dogecoin-transactions.html
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin%20cash-transactions.html
This is why you should make threads self-moderated, and this isn't even the only garbage shitpost here.  It's sad.

Interesting to think about, OP.  I don't do much thinking about BCH, but I finally did claim the little amount I had coming post-forking.  To me it's a garbage coin regardless of how many strange paradoxes are involved, and the day will come when it's only being traded on yobit in the 1-satoshi graveyard with no buy orders in sight.
7552  Other / Meta / Re: I need help, reason why banned me! on: February 14, 2019, 10:25:39 PM
I'm curious as to whether mods are able to keep track of this account OP is using for his ban appeal, because it should be banned as well.  Obviously it isn't a throwaway account.

I'd bet the ranch this is for plagiarism, since members generally don't get permabanned for spamming.  OP, you likely remember what you copy/pasted, but I've no doubt some astute detective will dig up an example if that's what you're seeking.

Edit:  nice catch, DireWolfM14 and yep, account sales=trouble.
7553  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many Bitcoin do you think Wall St will own on: February 14, 2019, 10:02:48 PM
I think that Wall Street will buy ZERO bitcoins during the next few years.
They will make money out of bitcoin backed derivatives trading fees(if bitcoin futures trading ever gets green light).Wall Street is a market, not a company. They don't buy and sell, they let the traders buy and sell and they charge a fee for allowing them to use the platform.
That's exactly what I was thinking.  The Wall Street collective has enough cash to buy all the bitcoin in existence several times over--and they can't do that without driving up the price while buying, or down while selling.  The only viable solution for them is to bet on the futures markets, just like they do with other currencies & commodities.

That said, I don't know precisely what's available for crypto derivatives right now.  That's an area where only the big dogs play and that doesn't include me.  I'm just hoping that Wall Street doesn't somehow fuck everything up like they did in 2008.  Could happen.
7554  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Conferences/events on: February 14, 2019, 09:31:42 PM
Boooo you filthy europeans.  Need some freedom conferences in this joint.
Man, if there was ever any sort of get-together within reasonable cycling distance of, say, NYC I'd make it a point to visit one of these shindigs, if only to meet a fellow bktcointalker in the flesh and peep some of the collectibles.

Man, I'm so far from Lambo-ing my way to a bitcoin festival it's not even funny.  My sneakers got holes in them, that's how far.

Didn't realize how big crypto is in Romania.  Very cool.
7555  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people come back to gold on: February 14, 2019, 08:19:57 PM
I've had mixed feelings about gold for years now and still do.  There seems to be an undertone of impending doom that doesn't seem to be abating in the least, but I'm not sure what's coming.  We had a global financial crisis in 2008 that went on for years; I'm not certain if we're going to get another one or if armageddon is coming, e.g., nuclear war or a severe terrorist strike.  If it's the latter, we need to be buying survival stuff like seeds and land instead of gold.

I'm not sure what all this buying of gold was on the part of the governments.  That doesn't seem to indicate doomsday, but I don't have an explanation--and I distrust what I read about such things.
7556  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hate a DT1 member? Or two? All of them? Post your grievances here. UNMODERATED on: February 12, 2019, 11:28:01 PM
I hate marlboroza and KWH for leaving us short-staffed in this scammer infestation. Technically this is off topic because marlboroza is no longer in DT1 and KWH was not in it (I think) but the thread is unmoderated so who cares.

Although if you come back I'll forgive you in a heartbeat. Please.
Yeah, I don't know what's up with marlboroza not wanting to be on DT, and if KWH isn't on DT it's probably something that ought to be discussed.  He hasn't been as active lately as he used to be, but he's one of the good guys from what I've seen of his posts.

I'm very curious as to why marlboroza wants out, but I'm not sure if we'll get an explanation.  Meanwhile, squeals of joy can be heard coming from the general direction of the troll's den, and the sound is sickening.

Nice to hear wheelz weigh in on this, and I don't disagree with him about imperfect the trust system is--but it's better than nothing and at least you'd have a good idea of how trustworthy wheelz is because of it.  Were there no system, he'd have no documented reputation, which would suck for him and would benefit scammers exclusively.

Edit: thanks, suchmoon.  Guess I missed that thread entirely--but it doesn't surprise me that he left, and he's not the only one driven away by the constant drama.  Probably won't be the last, either.
7557  Economy / Reputation / Re: @suchmoon could you provide info on this on: February 12, 2019, 10:15:36 PM
I'm playing this game where I guess what cryptohunter is saying and then I click Show/Hide to verify... quite boring TBH, I'm winning 100% so far. "something something unfair something abuse something".

Yeah, I just fed the troll, shame on me.
Let them go hungry, that's my advice.  There's no point in either side continuing a conversation like this, where both sides have their heels dug in so deep.  It's exhausting and fruitless, and I'm afraid it's wearing out good members like marlboroza.

Put these numbskulls on ignore and let 'em stay there without peeping.
7558  Economy / Economics / Re: The Consensus is Clear: You Should Own Gold Now on: February 12, 2019, 06:19:47 PM
With sentiment for the precious metals returning, outlook on prices turning bullish

From what I know, when this kind of news start to emerge it may be already too late to buy.
And it's usually bad to just jump in without studying the market, just because some "experts" say so.

The same story goes for anything one can invest into, including Bitcoin (which also looks like a good option for buying)
I would agree with you, except this is gold we're talking about.  I've been reading the same hype about it since 1998--very little has changed in the script these people seem to be reading off of in 21 years.

Gold did have a great run up until 2011, but it's been in decline ever since.  Yes, it's been higher in the last couple of weeks, but I'm not convinced that what we're seeing isn't a dead-cat bounce.  It certainly isn't too late to buy in if an upward trend is beginning, I'm pretty sure of that.
7559  Economy / Reputation / Re: Remove marlboroza (me, me) from DT2 on: February 12, 2019, 05:45:51 PM
Lol a therapist is a bit overboard, yes.

Marlboroza, I'm not removing you.  If you want off DT1, there are other ways to do it, which I'm sure you know of that don't entail your exclusion from anybody's trust list.

Come on, guys.  Don't let these shitposting idiots drive away the good members of bitcointalk, because that's exactly what looks to be happening.
7560  Economy / Reputation / Re: An Apology Letter on: February 11, 2019, 10:24:44 PM
I would hope acctmyname does not remove the negative feedback until you at least participate positively in the community for a few months.

It's not like you made a mistake and then tried to redeem yourself for three years.   You simply left the forum, let some time pass and now you want to come back as if you did nothing wrong.

Prove that you deserve a second chance.
I don't necessarily disagree with this, but I salute OP for at least coming clean about his wrongdoing.  It sounded sincere, and that's more than can be said for a lot of these cases.  I'd also point hat he did was dishonest but wasn't anywhere near the magnitude of, say, Master-P dishonesty.

Ultimately it's not up to me, but I vote for mercy in this situation--perhaps after a certain period of time or whatever.  That's up to the DT members who tagged him.  Not sure if Lutpin is still around these days

Edit: OP's trust shows up as green for me, likely because I excluded Lutpin.  I'm sure that varies, and I don't know how red he looks to others.  Lutpin was once very trustworthy, but after the 777Coin/Bitvest campaign fiasco....ugh.
