7561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] The International 2019: Dota 2 World Championship on: August 01, 2019, 04:30:36 AM
See guys, team secret is the favorite.

Yeah, the team has the highest DPC, after all. Let's see! 2019 might be their luckiest year and the aegis will finally fall on their hands.
Many wants to see Puppey holding the aegis again together with his squad. He's been one of the legend together with NaVi and he's considerably one of the best team captains. He had issue before of not paying his teammates and known as a keyboard warrior.

I have much respect for Puppey and his team has been so consistent during this DPC season. If they win the aegis for this year, they really deserve it.

Maybe the TI9 aegis is really for them. Let's see! My bet is on their team from quarter finals to championship, if they will reach that stage. They haven't been a champion despite their excellent team and individual performances and consistently high DPC. Well, Puppey has already been a champion. He might manage to carry the name Secret with him this time with his leadership.

Anyway, guys, take a look at this. This I saw when I dropped by the site of Nitrogen Sports. All you Team Liquid, OG, and EG fans out there, 1 BTC is not bad at all, is it?

Root for any past TI champions and there's going to be a drop, interesting condition.

Yeah, the catch here is that there never was a TI team who won the championship twice. Perhaps the condition is there to break the curse.   Grin
7562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will BITCOIN run out in 2140? on: August 01, 2019, 03:54:19 AM
I forgot the article that says about this.
but I remember that, reportedly Satoshi Nakamoto intentionally created a limited amount of bitcoin inventory. This is done to prevent inflation. From long-term predictions, BITCOIN has at least until the year 2140, all of which can be mined. If the number of Bitcoin continues to decrease, the price can soar in the future. how do you think about this, is it true that BITCOIN will run out in 2140?

What do you mean run out? That there wouldn't be enough Bitcoin in the world? That is simply impossible to happen.

When all the 21 million Bitcoins have been mined, it means the miners will only be depending on the transaction fees. Meaning to say, business as usual. Everything goes on smoothly. If you are bothered by the billions of people in the world and the very limited Bitcoin supply at 21 million BTC maximum, don't be. There are 8 decimals points in the value of BTC. If we divide all the 21 million BTC supply to the total world population at 7.7 billion people, everyone would have 0.00272727 BTC. That is still a large amount considering that the smallest value would be 0.00000001.
7563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anything can be bought by Bitcoin? on: August 01, 2019, 03:17:06 AM
There are many countries that have legalised the use of bitcoin for transaction as well as many traders. I know bitcoin will be used for anything in the next couple of years. I strongly believe in what bitcoin can do in the future.
For other countries they have legalized bitcoin as method of payment. In my country only few merchants accepted bitcoin whereas can purchase goods or products. I also do believe their is an improvement in the future of bitcoin about it’s usage.
Seeing such big countries already using bitcoin as a means for payment system, hopefully small countries too will start to adopt bitcoin so that bitcoiners and even those who don't own bitcoins yet can easily purchase anything they want with the use if bitcoin. I know this will happen in the future but it might take more time to be realized.

The obstacles that huge or developed countries are facing are a lot different than the ones that small or underdeveloped countries are facing. Bitcoin payment in advanced countries is not much hard to implement given the fact that the perfect technological circumstances are already there. It only needs a nod by the government authorities and everything will go fine. In small and underdeveloped countries, the problem is much deeper and basic such electricity, internet, lack of smartphones, and even the lack of capacity to use smartphones.
7564  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺WOLF.BET - Provably fair dice game 🎲 Free faucet🚰 7-day streak bonus 🔥 on: July 31, 2019, 01:27:17 PM
Wolf.bet has a "Max" button in UI, but why it doesn't have minimum button?

After a streak of losses, I click MAX, wishing to win maximum, because I expect next roll to be victorious. But after a huge win, I usually decrease my bet. I had to click numerous times to get the bet amount to be low, instead of just clicking one button.

Maybe Wolf should add "MIN" that button?
Instances, click numerous times for a low bet amount. Better just type a number by your keyboard/keypad it would save a lot of times.

Honestly, I visit various casino online their button for manual dice always :
  • Max
  • x2
  • 1/2
It's not really a big problem, other players not really disturbed without "MIN Button"

Yes, there are online casino sites that do not have a minimum bet button. But perhaps it would be more convenient to bettors to have a minimum button. Usually, after I go all in and win, I would go back to the minimum, back to step 1. I guess there are also other bettors out there who do it this way.

Actually, it would even be better if the x2, minimum, and maximum buttons can also be used in the winning chance and payout. Just an idea.
7565  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [GAME CONTEST]--💰🎁PREDICTION PRICE OF BTC in Q3🎁💰-- on: July 31, 2019, 12:47:29 PM
Here's mine: $14,321.

There's still a couple of months left before the 3rd quarter comes to a close, enough time for BTCTC to break the 2019 ATH in $13,000+. The price will break the 2019 ATH and climb up higher even hitting $16,000. The correction takes place right after that, hitting my prediction price by end of Sept.  Grin

Yung centralized hub ba ito? Yeah, yan din yung main criticism na nababasa ko. Mukhang hindi nga posible maging highly scalable ang LN kung walang multiple central hubs which makes the "centralized" argument valid. Pero ang maganda din dito is pwedeng makapag-transact w/o using any hub and still makes it decentralized.

Yep yep! I am waiting for someone who could rebuff what I have understood so far para maliwanagan ako rito. I am far from being an expert kaya alam ko somewhere may mali siguro ako sa aking pagkakaintindi.

~

I'll gonna read it hundred of times to clarify what's the main idea in Lightning Network. I found it very useful so can I use your statements for additional information regarding LN?  Wink

I've read a good number of articles about LN and so far yun yung nakuha kong mga impormasyon. Pero gaya nga ng sabi ko kay Bttzed03, I might be wrong somewhere. Kaya don't take my words as authority.  Grin

7569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH or BCC who whil be best? on: July 31, 2019, 11:55:45 AM
I will have to side with Ethereum. Bitcoin Cash has of course the technology to even match that of Bitcoin. They are claiming that they are the real Bitcoin. They have a lower fee and even addressed scalability more than Bitcoin. They have a higher TPS than Bitcoin itself. But since I don't like the way they present themselves as the real Bitcoin, I am with Ethereum.  Grin Kidding aside, Ethereum is the number one altcoin and since BCC is an altcoin, it follows that it is subservient to Ethereum.
7570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbond scammers or not how you think? on: July 31, 2019, 10:59:17 AM
Hello to all. There are such moments when they just start to lose their nerves. How many more projects will mock bounty hunters? No more strength to endure it. Today, in the official chat of the bitbond project, one of the project leaders stated that they did not reach the amount they wanted, namely $ 2,500,000, to pay the bounty participants any bonuses. But they go to our meeting and are ready to divide into all 5000 tokens. Isn't that funny to them? It turns out for $ 2-3 per person. I personally wore their signature for several months. And for this they want to pay me $ 2. At the same time, the project did not have a soft cap. Someone may say that such things can not be painted projects and call them scammers, but I think it's just a mockery of ordinary people. I believe that all people should know about such projects and I will not delete my topic until the project management changes the payments. I hope the section moderators will not mind.
Sincerely.

And yet you are still wearing their signature. Are you not even hurt that you will only receive a couple of dollars for your effort? Why is it that you are still promoting their brand?

Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0. Create a thread here about your accusation. Please detail everything clearly so that the DT members will get your point and perhaps even give a red tag to the persons involved with this project.

Please note, however, that this is not the first time someone accuses a project of being a scam. I can even say that majority of the projects in the altcoin section are scam.

7572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the *easiest* profitable betting strategy? on: July 31, 2019, 09:22:19 AM
I might sound like a broken record and might even be ostracized from the "gambling community" .. but the most profitable strategy in gambling is not to gamble at all.

(waits to be heckled)

It seems no one wants to. LOL! Let me be the first one, then. In gambling, the rule is simple. You don't gamble, you take no profit. Well, that's not even a heckle.  Cheesy

Anyway, I have actually given my couple of cents here already but I think I have changed my mind. The easiest profitable strategy perhaps is to to do a little tweaking of the codes, at least in online gambling sites where it could possible be done.  Grin
7573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling affect your overall lifestyle? on: July 31, 2019, 04:03:23 AM
<<snip>>

I love gambling, although I am not really the online type. But gambling has not affected me to the point that my lifestyle has changed because of it. I only gamble a strict amount I can easily do away with. The only weird thing about me is that I would rather get out of the gambling house lost than break-even.

I didn't set an amount and just went all in with whatever I had, though lost but gave me an experience that made me realize that gambling is not for me or may be I am not made for gambling. I broke even actually when I lost 75% of my total capital 'including wins from old bets'. The remaining part was what I started with which I made 4x of my original capital. But greed always makes you lose if you stick to it and don't control yourself. I didn't sleep for at least a week, went to a psychiatrist to make him check me, then a consultant and finally I was relieved. The days were very tough for me to be spent when you have 0 money on hands to spend for your family.

Who's made for gambling, anyway? Well, except for those genius individuals who could read cards and make the house edge look silly, we are gambling for the fun of it. It's just sad that you will have to go through all these unfortunate events to make you realize about gambling and yourself.

Greed will not only take away your money. A more intense one could also take away your family, your future and theirs, and even your life and sanity. Thanks god, you've made your realization earlier and handled everything from there pretty well.

By the way, how's gambling today? Have you left it for good?
7574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi IP address on: July 31, 2019, 03:33:31 AM
Why not revealing them?

then why stop there? why not release the information this site sees from all other users. lets start from you, bitcointalk should release your IP address among other things including browser fingerprint,...

LOL! Bull's eye! Of all the users here, it is Satoshi's that the OP wanted to be released to the public. Such betrayal of Satoshi's advocacy for anonymity. Bitcoin is designed to protect personal information and now we're trying to dig deeper, releasing sensitive information in the process, to compromise the identity behind the pseudonym.

I would be interested in eventually check if these IP are all Tor related. With so many Satoshi popping up to get the Nobel price...

How much?  Grin Kidding! Perhaps it is about time the Nobel Prize be given to one who is beyond the physical human individual, and make history. Satoshi is an idea. Let the prize be given to it as it is.
7575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling affect your overall lifestyle? on: July 31, 2019, 02:55:44 AM
Ugh, gambling has gobbled you up, mate. That is a sad story, although you are fortunate enough to still end up whole and very able to stand up and start again from zero. I have watched more morbid news about how gamblers handle huge losses.

I love gambling, although I am not really the online type. But gambling has not affected me to the point that my lifestyle has changed because of it. 7576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I love the speculators in Bitcoin. on: July 31, 2019, 02:32:42 AM
In some cases, speculators can negatively influence the development of certain projects, since these people have the opportunity to create a stir around the coin, despite its prospects, to attract more buyers, and then provoke a collapse and another price increase, which, given a certain alternation of such opportunities,  opportunities to get rid of even bad coins at a high price.

I don't think that is the work of speculators.  Those are shillers IMO.  Speculators are those who are buying with an expectation of a profit one day.  So basically these people are hoarders at one point and dumpers at another point.  Regardless, this is just a normal phenomena in trading (uptrend and downtrend).    Anyway, I do like speculators too since they give a positive vibes on the market.

I do love speculators as well. But not just because they give positive vibes on the market. I also love they way they affect the value of Bitcoin on a negative way. They could very well be instruments for those of us who would want to enter the market with a low price. And I believe the speculators' hands are all over every pump and dump in Bitcoin's price history.

i dont think that speculators are responsible for the pump and dump of the price , not even shillers because these people are mainly speculating and not doing the real job which was buying or selling  but if ever they did ,  i still dont think that they can move the price depending on thier preference because most of these guys are only small or dont have much resources as when compare to a real crypto whale or an institutions that has alot of capital to manipulate the entire crypto market  .

Actually, market speculators are not these: "people are mainly speculating and not doing the real job which was buying or selling." I think you are wrong about this. Speculators do not just idly speculate and do nothing about their speculation, not even gaining from it. The people you might be referring to are those mere shills who just release statements after statements trying to affect the market. Market speculators are actually traders and investors who are sophisticated and brilliant enough to compute and take huge risks and earn profit from it. And so they affect the prices.

Shills are pure nuisance most of the time, if not all the time. Speculators, on the contrary, are very much needed in the market.

Ang SegWit hindi layer 2 solution yan. It is a layer 1 solution. It is an improvement done within the main protocol of Bitcoin. Dahil sa SegWit mejo lumaki ng kaunti yung capacity ng blocks. Pero the size of the blocks remain the same. My support for SegWit is all out of course. Wala naman dinagdag na third party kumbaga.

I thought Layer 2 solution siya since hindi naman siya kasali sa first introduction ng Bitcoin noon. Same with me, all out support since it's a really essential way to have multiple transactions.

Quote

So the information that is spreading in the whole community wasn't accurate. I only know the part of using the active payment channel to avoid TX fee and the transaction but I didn't know the part na the existing nodes which is si Juan at Karim also needed an existing fund before the transaction will happen. Actually, sa pagkakaalam ko, node to node basta may exisiting active payment channel ay magwowork na all through out yung process.

Which information? Baka ako rin yung nagkamali.  Grin That is why it would be best if other locals here would join the discussion to make light on all these.

Ang alam ko kasi if the channel between Juan at Karim has no or not enough balance, it cannot by used by Pedro to be able to pay Maria. Pedro => Juan => Karim => Maria. Dapat may enough balance ang nodes. So Pedro has to find another channel to be able to reach Maria. But since there are so many available channels in the network, it is impossible for any transaction not to succeed. Makakahanap at makakahanap pa rin ng ruta sa LN.

Most of the time naman kasi we, end-users, do not bother to get familiar with the nitty-gritty parts behind the technologies we conveniently use. For as long as, sabi mo nga, practical, we appreciate and make use of it. Kahit naman sa fiat that we use every single day. We do not anymore bother to ask how much is being printed in a day, how is the purchasing value determined, on what basis does the central bank create more bills or coins, and so on.
7578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale revisited on: July 30, 2019, 03:06:09 PM
I think it's better to start with a smaller initial bet after winning a lot of rounds using Martingale.

That is precisely the reason why Martingale is used. If possible, you do not use Martingale if you are on a winning streak or generally gaining in your bets. I only use Martingale when I have to recover the loss I got in the previous roll. And if successful, you will go back to your normal bet.

But there might be some people who are really into Martingale despite having successive wins. They are those who are risk-takers enough to either go home afterwards with nothing or with a huge win.

postponing our final moment...

That is all what this is all about. But at least you get to enjoy more rolls before packing up.
7579  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [DISCUSSION] Lightning Network Explained by finaleshot2016. ⚡ on: July 30, 2019, 02:33:15 PM
we find different ways on how to gain and to be practical.

Let us be very careful about this in terms of improving Bitcoin. It might be in our too much pursuit of practicality that the ideas of Satoshi Nakamoto might die. Sa LN design pa lang, posibleng makapasok na ang mga banks and other huge companies eh.

Quote
Even SegWit, hindi naman talaga siya part ng protocol ng bitcoin pero we still use it for practicality. Sa fact na binigay ko na 1mb lang ang kaya for each block but because of SegWit, It has the ability to create multiple transaction within 1mb lang. So I'm not really against with Layer 2 solutions like LN, SegWit and other stuff kasi It doesn't really affect the price kasi sobrang daming user pa rin naman ng BTC, it's for the satisfaction of the other users.

Quote
Additional, I think LN doesn't really affect it but if do, it shouldn't exist. Yung protocol ng Bitcoin or ng Blockchain mismo are the things we should follow and those Layer 2 solutions are just optional if you will use it or not. Kasi kung yung layer 2 solutions ay na-adopt ng Blockchain, why not diba? Kung gusto may paraan pero I think the compatibility are not quite good. Ang nagiisang con lang na pumasok sa isip ko is advantage ang LN sa ibang alternative coin pero I think mahihirapan pa rin sila ma-surpass yung BTC through that. For example, Bitcoin Cash have a lot of TPS, 100+ transactions per second pero nalagpasan na ba nila yung Bitcoin kahit na 7 TPS lang 'to? Hindi diba. Kaya I'm still being positive to those layer 2 solutions like LN and SegWit, choice na rin naman natin if we will abandon BTC or not. Marami pa ring nagsti-stick sa BTC even it lack the features na meron sa ibang Cryptocurrency.  Wink

Before Satoshi left, he entrusted Bitcoin to this man Gavin Andresen, with the instruction na kapag kinakailangan, since darating din talaga ang araw na dadami ang users ng Bitcoin and therefore ang transactions din, maaaring lakihan ang block size.

Dumating na nga ang araw, we are now trying to target a million TPS capacity or even unlimited pa nga kasi we are looking at the global market, ala Visa or Mastercard style.

So ganito ang magiging itsura:

(Taken from: https://medium.com/@jonaldfyookball/mathematical-proof-that-the-lightning-network-cannot-be-a-decentralized-bitcoin-scaling-solution-1b8147650800)

Bluewallet has full transparency since it's open-source...

Aside from the amazing support for importing wallets, this is perhaps the best feature of this mobile wallet.

Since you said you made a research as to the best available iOS wallet, have you encountered other wallets that are also open-sourced? When I did my little research, every wallet that is available to iPhone that I encountered was closed-sourced.

Thanks, OP!
