cAPS: Flip side theory.

This is not a new theory, but I have never taken it seriously until today.  But I also give it very little credence.  It's a wild ass crazy thing.

Central Banks have been rushing around trying to figure out how to make a digital currency for a decade now.  They are getting closer to a test that I would have thought possible.  But they are super far behind.  And you KNOW they know they are fucked.

What if... the most powerful central bank hired... uhh... I dunno, say the inventor of SHA256 to develop a viral, unbeatable new world currency that they would control to the extent it would be possible considering the fact that one reason that it would be viral is that it is TRULY a decentralized system.  Or, even better the FED did NOT hire them, but instead it was launched by a secret (possibly even rogue) element in our intelligence world.

Say they just released it on the cypherpunks mailing list under some pseudonym Nakamoto, SAtoshi and did everything they could surreptitiously to help it catch on?  How would they control it, you ask?  Well they wouldn't once it was launched.  But they would be able to virtually "premine" more of it than anyone else.  And then someday after it gained worldwide traction and the price of it stabilized they could come clean (or not?  I am not sure about this part) and  introduce a plan to monetize the USGvmt with the Satoshi coins?

This would be the perfect way to launch the worlds dominant CDBC.  And ahead of all the competition.  And it would be done in a way that would be both a gift to the world, and a great benefit to the creating country.

How would this government act during the first 20 years of it's existence?  Well they would act disinterested.  They would slow play their hand.  They would act like they did not really SEE the risk.  And most of them would not know because it would be ultra-argon-xoomax Top Secret.  They would not make it illegal... and they would wait on OTHER COUNTRIES, perhaps even their enemies to take it up first and embed their economies with it.  Some of them would bitch and scream, but over all they would just go on printing dollars like usual.  Well more than usual.  They would be printing them faster and faster.  They saw this coming too after all.

Then after Russia, and perhaps China, and some other economies adopt it... after it is safe to do so, they could begin to pull the curtain back, and though this might cause all kinds of temporary instability the game theory here works itself out pretty fast as well.

*Sigh*.  I can only wish that the US government, or ANY of them for that matter was wise enough to think up a thing like this...

But the result will end up the same no matter what.  This monetary avalanche is well underway and unstoppable at this point.  There will be winners and losers, of course, but it will not be stopped.  At least I do not think so.

Anyway... I said it was crazy and do not claim it to be original... I mean I have never read anyone else really try to flesh it out, but I know people have theorized it.)  But all the things that have happened?  They can actually fit a theory like this fairly well...  lol.  An obviously I have Americentricized this.  It could be many other world powers that did it...

Dude they already did it BTC is the name of it. Grin
7582  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Ten S19 Pro minners too hot on: February 09, 2022, 05:10:40 PM
I have 10 Bitmain S19 pro miners, and I had a lot of problems with heating, where they first run at about 70-90 degrees, but after a couple of days some of them will have shut down from overheating. Trying different placements I managed to reduce the number of miners that shut down, and lowered the temperature some, but overheating always ends up being a problem.

My first solution when I started mining was to get a big ventilation, but I quickly concluded that the room was too hot.

Ventilation:

After that I tried to attach tubes to each miner that went to the ventilation, and the temperature in the room was normal, but the temperature in the tubes was too hot because the ventilation was not exhausting the hot air quickly enough to the outside.

Improved ventilation with tubes:

I also want to expand with moreA miners, and the ventilation can hardly support more miners, so I was thinking of connecting tubes attached to the miners directly to the window, possibly with negative pressure fans to further help exhaust the hot air.

I figure this might not be sufficient, and the problem with the miners attached to the ventilation remains, so I was thinking about making a wooden box for the miners and has a hole that connects with a tube directly to an airconditioner. That way I get a flow of cold air from the outside, while exhausting the hot air to the outside. I am concerned about dust and moisture coming from the outside.

Now the question is if this is sufficient? And is there any better solution? Or maybe a cheaper one? Having a big airconditioner run 24/7 is after all very expensive.

the main vent can not move 10 x 500 = 5000 cfm

I can tell by the size it is.

in order to move 5000 cfm you need a minimum 24 by 24 inch opening with a power fan straight out of a wall opening or a window.

i will find a link.

https://www.industrialfansdirect.com/collections/maxx-air-ventamatic/products/if18ups-exhaust-fan-shutters-1-speed-18-inch-3000-cfm-direct-drive-maxx-air

those vents above are 18 by 18 and do 3000 cfm you need two of them.
in a wall with zero resistance to send air outside.

your main vent looks like it is 18 by 30 inches .

right there that is too small. for 10 pieces.  try running five units see how it does.

she was very very very sick from covid one which we got dec 2019

she had 2x pneumonia
was in hospital two times in 2020
her lungs took from jan 2020 to june 2021 to heal

Glad you've both made it through okay, and particularly your wife as her experience sounds pretty horrific.

I'm interested in cases from late 2019. I had Covid-like symptoms in November 2019, normally I am lucky enough to be able to shake off viruses quite quickly with only mild symptoms, but this one hit me much harder than usual. I've heard a few other stories of similar experiences from around the same time, we were told it wasn't Covid-19 as it wasn't here (the UK) at that point. I suppose we'll never know, but I do wonder.

She dodged multiple bullets so to speak.

she had an unknown underlying condition.

silent acid reflux which was caused by an still other underlying condition. a surface level liver cyst.

the liver cyst was big 690 ml almost the size of a bottle of wine.
that pressed on her stomach
that leaked enzymes rather than stomach acid so the reflux was painless.
when the enzymes get into her throat and lungs 🫁 they basically predigested the surfaces which is why the covid found a nice home.

she was in hospital jan 7 to jan 13 2020. they did not quite clear the infection
so she had a low fever on and off from jan 13 to march 17. a newer doctor gave her the anti viral valtrex
it knocked out the fever it never came back.

but the lungs were still being stressed by the digestive enzymes.

multiple doctors and finally in oct we rushed her to emergency room they figured out the cyst issue as it had swelled to 690 mm almost ¾ of a quart

they drained it. so the stomach was not pushed the digestive enzymes stopped stressing her
lungs. they gave her steroids the 400 day coughing finally stopped may of 2021.

we were very lucky that the gp guessed to give her an antiviral in march 2020. that killed off the virus 🦠

her oxygen went from 92 to 98 her heart went from 110-115 to 70-75

btw that is a way a lot of people die from covid. your body will rece the heart up to get a decent oxygen level. and if your heart cant run high and fast for a long time you die.

Can not tell you how fortunate we are to have survive this shit.

oh we did lose a relative to covid fall of 2021.  she feared vaxxing. she went to a funeral of a covid victim caught the delta and she died at 67 last fall.

another newbie question Wink to calculate so called "luck factor" to estimate progress in finding solo block, is it a matter of dividing current number of shares with network diff?
e.g. at the moment of writing for the whole pool 4819841797984 / 26690525287405 = 18% ?

kind of

but to understand this a bit more.

a die is 1 to 6

6 is the winning number

rolls of six should hit at an av erage  six rolls

but can hit in a roll 1/6 = 16%

or in 12 rolls 12/6 = 200%
7586  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A vaccine buffet. on: February 09, 2022, 01:16:00 PM
Pretty sure I had the Delta vaccine..

Seems to be working well..

I had covid strain one coming out of Italy to New York
I had pfizer vacs 1,2
I had very mild covid delta
I took pfizer booster.

so three shots
and two covids
so far I am still here.

Damage done =

 sense of smell is poor
and a very bent dick known as peyronie’s disease

treatment for the bent dick involves massage and bending it straight.
my wife has been doing a lot of work on this with me and it is now straighter

most men are too embrassed to talk about this but you do not want to get it from covid or any other reason.

my wife had

covid strain one
two pfizer shots
very mild delta
third pfizer shot

she was very very very sick from covid one which we got dec 2019

she had 2x pneumonia
was in hospital two times in 2020
her lungs took from jan 2020 to june 2021 to heal
she is one tough bitch
i am a lucky guy to have her as a wife.

In my country, Graphic Cards are expensive.
I have two choices. I have already these vgas. I will buy more gear.
What should I buy ? I havent decided.

9445 $ = 12 pcs RTX A2000 6GB + full mobo set = 504 MH ETH 1000W at the plug
7695 $ = 12 pcs RX 6600 8GB + full mobo set = 347 MH ETH + 11GH TON 1440W at the plug

I have 4 pny rtx a2000 they work well

I have 36 more on order.

I have 1 rx 6600 Its okay .

I have no more on order.

But that is my choice.
I had good luck with the 6800 cards
I had good luck with the 6700 cards.

I would have purchased more of the 6800s but I never got a good price.

God bless that storm. Grin

The latest update from Cambridge study puts the U.S at 35% of the total hashrate, it's a bit outdated since the last update was in August of last year, the U.S now has (easily) 50% of the world hashrate, my guess is that by the end of this year the number will jump to 65-70%, something that even China failed to do a few years back.

I won't be surprised if in 2-3 years 90% of the hashrate will be located in the U.S, eventually, those mega players that can secure 2.5c per kWh and have almost "unlimited" funding potential will kick the majority of the other players outside of the game even those large players in some countries like Russia and Kazh, fun times ahead.

yeah we are getting new people asking about a one - two million investment.

we mix solar with grid and hopfully do as well as we did with the 2016 build and the 2021.
 build.

in a magical world. we will have

45
115
300
500
kwatt arrays by end of 2023.
960kwatts of solar which will give about 170kwatts non stop solar power.

and will burn about 170 kwatts of grid power.

So.. in other new Wells Fargo published this and the bitcoin community cheers in bullish adoration.

I will tell you why they are wrong. Smiley

Don't get me wrong... I do think this is a bullish chart.  But I believe the prediction is overly conservative.

For internet adoption to happen the citizens of earth needed a lot of expensive things.  A computer, and a connection to the internet, and the time to use it.  Eventually the cell phone worked it's way into the mix, and even the lowly Raspberry Pi was created to bring internet capable computing to the least rich on the planet.  These facts were the resistance behind this adoption curve.  The building out of worldwide wireless networks is undoubtedly one of the most important achievements of mankind.

Now for bitcoin.  What will the users need?

Nothing more than the things they got in the first adoption curve.  A computer, a cell phone, and a network connection to the worldwide network.

See the difference?  Perhaps subtle... but very large. The implication of this chart is Bitcoin will likely follow a similar curve.

I think not.  (can anyone guess how cAPS thinks the curve might be different Roll Eyes )
bigger faster harder.

7591  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: n0nce's Steel Washer Backup jig (customisable) on: February 08, 2022, 02:54:18 PM
And for OPSEC it's much better to buy normal washers than have someone hammer them with wallet seed words.
I think that he said that he will do what n0nce did, that means he will put seed words on washers himself, and that is not so hard to do if you have the right tools.

I am lazy but would think you would be fairly secure making 2 wallets and using 48 of the 60 washers.
Would be very hard to crack. It could be affordable for a buyer and makable for a fabricating guy. I wonder what the math would be on 48 of 60 good words for 2 wallets. Once set up I would think it is about 1 hours labor to make the 60 washers.
I don't see the problem of using the full list of words, and it's not very good idea to be lazy about this.
Excuse me for asking, maybe I a don't understanding this correctly, but are you planning to make this washers with seed words on them and then sell them to other people?
It's always better to teach a man how to fish, than to give him the wish... even if he is lazy  Cheesy

maybe depends on how easy it is to do.

7593  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 265 blocks solved! on: February 07, 2022, 11:57:35 PM
pool difficulty is like counting by 1000's to get to a million

ie 1+1+1 ... = 1,000,000 TAKES more room on the pools server

1000+1000+1000 ... = 1,000,000 less room on the pool server. either way you still need to get to a million

or in this case 26 trillion.

and that is only to show the shares put in not that you hit a block.

since getting a big share in 26 trillion tries does not have to happen
7594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 07, 2022, 11:42:44 PM
Are any of you gents contemplating buying the 21k A11 pro that Inno has on 'offer.' I am itching to buy one for some weird reason and need to be talked out of it...

21k a11 does how much hash at what watts

okay it does 1.5gh at 2500 watts

this gpu is better if you can get it.

https://www.lenovo.com/us/lenovopro/en/p/accessories-and-software/graphics-cards/graphics_cards/4x61f99433?

will do 40 at 70 watts

buy 36 for about 20340

buy 3 miner dude cases for

3600

cost 23940 say 25000

that inno will be same with tax

so 41 x 36 = 1.476 hash

36 x 71 =  2556 watts add 300 watts for the fans in the cases you are at 2856 watts.

2856 watts 1.476k hash

2500 watts 1.50 hash

3 rigs with 36 cards take space but you will never go fully doa.

1 rig with 1 psu = do a risk

cost is very close to equal 25k-26k price range with taxes.

Phil how is it you keep buying cards, you're inspiring a lot of confidence! I know you have good power, but isn't the uncertainty super high right now?

We have a long term vision.
I am the old man 65 warehouse owner is 58 buysolar is 46 warehouse owner's son is 26

We also have

ASICS FOR BTC
ASICS FOR LTC/DOGE

gpus for eth.

We are no longer a garage miner.
We burn 200kwatts a day
We are over 300k in gear.

So we dca gear.

This is nice money, but all four of us have income outside of this.

We look to expand to 900k worth of gear.  our big site can do that much power.

and we found a site close to my home and buy solar's home.  we have another investor we may do a big farm there. (big is relative) 500 kwatts maybe 600k worth of miners.

to me a 900k miner farm four way split

and a 600k miner farm is big. three way split.

I am prepared for it to leave the channel that it has been in for last 400 plus days.
