.

Sinasabing Bitcoin is designed to be private and anonymous so bakit we make a big deal out of it na hindi nakikita yung details nung transactions. Pero personally, parang mas okay yung transparent lahat lahat, every step of the way.

Pagdating sa large amounts, you better be using the Bitcoin blockchain mismo. But this is a different discussion altogether.

Ang point ko is, does practicality override the original design of Bitcoin? As a matter of fact, sa tingin ko ang LN ay deviation na sa mismong design ng Bitcoin eh. Out of our sheer eagerness to use Bitcoin as the main currency, imbis na dun tayo gumawa ng improvement sa mismong blockchain, we resorted to adding a different layer, which is essentially hindi na Bitcoin.

Quote
As long as hindi apektado yung pagiging decentralized...

7583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here have some strategy to gain money, but with low profits daily? on: July 30, 2019, 12:13:22 PM
Some example, you deposit 100 USD, you use martingale method to gain at least 1 dollar (1%) and you stop, and do the same the day after

This is just a random example I made right now, but I want to see if there's someone who try to use a strategy to gain very small profits daily instead of trying with big bets

And guys, I know there's no 100% strategy, it's just curiosity

You could in fact use martingale for that

I think this could be possible. But only for as long as you will stick to your very small winning target. It would be a different story altogether if you set a much higher winning target. The possibility will become smaller and bleaker.

Yes, Martingale could be used here. You could also set the winning percentage a bit higher.

But since this is gambling, there is never a 100% guarantee that it will turn out smoothly. So you better be setting a certain amount to lose each day as well. Otherwise, you might lose everything.

If you use the Lightning Network, however, it is considered an off-chain transaction. Therefore the particular details of the transactions are not recorded on the blockchain and therefore not public.
Yan nga yung isa sa mga argument na nabasa ko about LN and so far wala pa akong nakitang proposed solution dito. It's ease of use vs. complete/full transparency.

Sinasabing Bitcoin is designed to be private and anonymous so bakit we make a big deal out of it na hindi nakikita yung details nung transactions. Pero personally, parang mas okay yung transparent lahat lahat, every step of the way.

7586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I love the speculators in Bitcoin. on: July 30, 2019, 09:32:01 AM
In some cases, speculators can negatively influence the development of certain projects, since these people have the opportunity to create a stir around the coin, despite its prospects, to attract more buyers, and then provoke a collapse and another price increase, which, given a certain alternation of such opportunities,  opportunities to get rid of even bad coins at a high price.

I don't think that is the work of speculators.  Those are shillers IMO.  Speculators are those who are buying with an expectation of a profit one day.  So basically these people are hoarders at one point and dumpers at another point.  Regardless, this is just a normal phenomena in trading (uptrend and downtrend).    Anyway, I do like speculators too since they give a positive vibes on the market.

I do love speculators as well. But not just because they give positive vibes on the market. I also love they way they affect the value of Bitcoin on a negative way. They could very well be instruments for those of us who would want to enter the market with a low price. And I believe the speculators' hands are all over every pump and dump in Bitcoin's price history.
7587  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [DISCUSSION] Lightning Network Explained by finaleshot2016. ⚡ on: July 30, 2019, 06:47:07 AM
To bump this thread for further discussion and for argument's sake, I would like to hear your opinion about transparency. For me, one thing that makes Bitcoin trustworthy is that it is transparent, fully transparent even. Each and every transaction within the blockchain is showed publicly and therefore could be accessed by anyone.

I remembered imagining public officials and offices here in the Philippines using Bitcoin wallets and doing transactions on blockchain. It could be more transparent. No hiding is possible as to when, to whom, and how much was spent or paid. Corruption could be greatly minimized.

If you use the Lightning Network, however, it is considered an off-chain transaction. Therefore the particular details of the transactions are not recorded on the blockchain and therefore not public.

This, for me, is not a good thing at all.

Which would you prefer, OP?

Sana kahit tayo tayo muna dito sa local magpa-games tapos through LN ang reward since murang mura ang transaction fees, kahit 1k sats hindi nakakahinayang magsend.

So up for this thread.  Grin

Maganda yung naisip mo kabayan.

7590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] The International 2019: Dota 2 World Championship on: July 29, 2019, 03:48:18 PM
How about let's start placing our bets where our mouth is?
I only betting each match, for the winner of TI9 will betting at the Grand Final.

But unfortunately, I never used a fiat/crypto money for betting Esport like Dota2, Most of my betting using item game, I used VPGame for my betting Esport activity.

Per match betting is the best option to some. It's a lot easier to weigh in the possibilities.

You might want to try using crypto bets this time. Take a look at the bottom of this post. That is, if you are a fan of the teams mentioned.

So my bet simply go to Team Secret
See guys, team secret is the favorite.

Yeah, the team has the highest DPC, after all. Let's see! 2019 might be their luckiest year and the aegis will finally fall on their hands.

Anyway, guys, take a look at this. This I saw when I dropped by the site of Nitrogen Sports. All you Team Liquid, OG, and EG fans out there, 1 BTC is not bad at all, is it?

7591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Career on: July 29, 2019, 03:17:56 PM
If you really want to become a high league pro poker player, earn a name first. In your locality, that's what I mean. Play local, small time, first. If you become a notorious player there, you'll definitely get to play at the higher levels, and when you earn an additional star there, your level goes a notch higher. Good luck!

By the way, you might want to try playing poker at Nitrogen Sports. Try it there. You might love it. You can even play at different tables at the same time with Nitrogen Sports poker.
7592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has the purposed of kyc been diverted? on: July 29, 2019, 09:12:57 AM
Day in day out there are new projects requiring kyc from investors
Exchanges requiring kyc, for some in order to maximize your ability to withraw large sums of cryptocurrencies and some even before you can trade on the exchange
The bigger question is how safe are our kyc documents?

As to the safety of our personal information, that we cannot guarantee. They may claim utmost care and privacy in treating our personal information, but it still remains open to hack attempts. However, since they are requiring KYC, traders and users of centralized exchanges are left with no other option but to comply. But if you cannot afford to divulge any of your personal information, opt for DEX or peer-to-peer transactions.
7593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is popular, what do you think? Will you participate? on: July 29, 2019, 03:45:22 AM
The popularity of the method of selling new altcoins is never a reason for me to participate or not on a specific project. As a matter of fact, it does not have any bearing at all as to my decision. A start-up has its own credentials and whitepaper. You will read and scrutinize those and decide whether it is good to invest on that project or not, regardless of whether it is using ICO or IEO or even direct listing in the sale of its tokens.
7594  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Freedom&Liberty knives Design #2 Part 2 on: July 29, 2019, 03:22:55 AM
knife received... ok
COA received... all bent and messed up.
There was no padding or anything to keep it secure.
I recommend not making full page COAs for small items... not needed.
A simple 3x5 or 4x6 card with similar printing would work just as well and ship much better if correct materials are used.

I have already made small cards for new batches but since the initial 10 were sold on full A4 papers, and the rest of the batch needs to have the same COA.

I offer to ship you a new COA which will be properly secured.

So my #18 Freedom&Liberty knife will also have the COA on a full A4 sheet?

It is much appreciated if there is a sort of a padding for it. Otherwise, it might arrive in the Philippines full of creases.

Thanks!  Smiley
7595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: trade makes me poor on: July 29, 2019, 02:58:40 AM
Are you frustrated when you experience defeat in trading? yes I experienced this ... I have lost $ 1000 dollars in the past 2 hours ... I did not switch with another coin and I just focused on the initial coin. but in fact I was still losing, in my opinion trading was not much different from gambling.

Trading is indeed synonymous to gambling if you are doing it without any basis at all, or if your sole basis is your mere gut feeling. That will bring you nowhere. I haven't experienced that so huge a loss in so quick a time even when I was a newbie. Here are my questions to you:

  • Why didn't you start with a small amount?
  • Why did you remain loyal to a single coin?
  • Why did you even start trading without learning the methods and the strategies first?
7596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Cafe on: July 29, 2019, 02:26:08 AM
The theme of the cafe is quite resembling a theme of cryptocurrency mainly focused on BITCOIN, however then what is the purpose of this if you can't even get to use your Bitcoins here, I mean that would be neat to spend my BTC for a cup of coffee and bread, I'm completely happy with fiat being spent but I do hope soon that the implementation will take effect soon, I'll be in Bangladesh soon and I might as well check out this cafe and see for myself if the coffee and everything deserves a 10/10

It is great that you can visit the cafe personally. That is certainly a landmark for all Bangladesh citizens who are also into Bitcoin. As to the cafe not accepting Bitcoin, it does not really have a choice, does it? It cannot accept Bitcoin since the country considers it illegal. Lest the government will shut it down. But sooner rather than later, Bangladesh will certainly give it a green, or so I hope.
at least if we visit the cafe it will certainly be easy to find a bitcoiner community, of course this is a positive step because we can share fellow bitcoiners. on the other hand with this cafe, of course, it will score a lot of new bitcoiners

For sure this is going to become a sort of a hang out place for like-minded individuals. Dropping a quick hi and hello here and there must not be awkward at all. Chatting over a cup of coffee here must be great knowing that most of the customers share the same passion and interest. It feels like there are really no strangers inside this cafe. Everybody's bound by the ideas set by Satoshi.
7597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: if you want to win big...accept defeat on: July 28, 2019, 02:25:39 PM
Nope don't accept defeat wherein always make a strategy to minimize losses .  Because if you always accept defeat on any gambling site you will end up losing money gradually and you will realize what you have done afterwards that can cause regrets . So always bear in mind to play safe and always make a specific move or decision before anything else because that's the most important on this kind of game.
Maybe what OP want us to understand is accepting defeat will give you chance to control your demand in time of wanting to win back the losses.
I can understand what he wanna say here because there is always a demand for every losers to bet still even though they knew that continuously losing is in their ways.

What you know OP wantes to say is:
When you have $100 to gamble for the night and lose all after a couple of hours then stop at once and accept your defeat. Go home with unwounded budget and stop being greedy taking back your loss.

But it doesnt mean you are winning big like what the title said. Its just minimizing the loss.
Exactly mate, that’s what also what I wanted him to understand I only use other way to express but its indeed that we must accept our defeat for the said time and maybe come back again the next time and do same attitude .in the end what’s best here is just allocate some exact of definite amount everytime that we wanted to play so the risk of losing big is lessen and the control in our self will be in practice as always

This is the best way of doing it but this is also easier said than done. I personally know of someone who gambles almost on a daily basis. The good thing is that he sets aside a specific amount of money for it and will never exceed that if he ends up unlucky. If he is lucky, he is also setting a strict amount of winning for him to call it a day and pack up. I call it sheer discipline and I take my hat off to such kind of person.

Personally, though, I am easily swayed by the fun in gambling, and probably the insuppressible feeling to get back or to recover one's loss, that I often end up losing more than I supposed to.
7598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: July 28, 2019, 01:19:32 PM
Here is a calculator:
https://www.betburger.com/surebet-calculator

With martingale every game has its own chance and they are independent from the previous results. Liverpool may win 20 times before they lose a game and you'll lose all your capital by then.

1st game:  1
2nd game: 2
3rd game: 4
4th game: 8
5th game: 16
6th game: 32
7th game: 64
8th game: 128

If you lose 7 times in a row, by the time you get to the 8th game, you'll have to invest x128 of what you originally invested and if thats a %50 chance game, you are only going to profit 1 unit.

You'll need to invest 128 units at the 8th game to win only 1 unit.

This is the most retarded shit you are getting yourself into.

Going all in makes more sense.

You hit the cherry, mate!

The question now is, by the time you are realizing that, I mean after you lost the 7th consecutive game, do you still have the 128 units to bet? By the time you are somehow enlightened and finally go for the all in, does your capital still support you? If yes, that's good for you. You may start back to step 1.

It doesn't really matter whether you have have 128 units or not at this point tbh. It becomes ridiculously retarded to wager that 128 units even if you have them.

What is going to happen if you lose again? Then you'll lose another 128 units added to your previous 127 lost units.

If you win, you only get 1.

Of course, getting 1 unit is better than losing 127 units but we play to make money remember? We don't play to minimize our losses.

Oh yes! Aside from the fun, it has to be about the money. Take the money away and perhaps the fun will also evaporate.

Anyway, I think Martingale remains a strategy until today because some gamblers, or perhaps a lot, would surely choose to regain all their losses in a single bet rather than little by little. Spell impatience.

The 1 unit may seem very little and certainly not worth the 128 units bet. But considering the respite after finally taking back the 127 lost units after 7 consecutive losses, that must be a little heaven. That must definitely count.  And if that fails, well, there's always a 356 bet that follows.  Grin
7599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I think a lot of people just missed their chance on: July 28, 2019, 12:11:23 PM
It seems to be going up and not coming back down again.

There will always be missed chances. What is important is that the present ones should be taken immediately and firmly. Lost opportunities may be lost forever but new ones should be grabbed quickly or else it will also be lost. The $3,000 BTC may only be seen in history but the $9,500 is still at hand. Grab it or else you will also miss it.
