761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WE NEED A HALL OF FAME? on: May 10, 2022, 02:41:41 PM
What is the practical purpose of this? I can't understand what this would be useful for other than to amuse someone's vanity. In the gambling section, people write/read in certain topics and quickly understand whose analysis is interesting (after all, you can always look at the history of messages). I don't think this hall of fame will be really useful to anyone.

If someone is able to predict correctly the results of 10 matches, why not pick 16? It is simply a matter of probability. Of course, the probability of hitting 16 results is extreme and it is certainly don't hit that often, but it's possible, so I think that's a real win.

What do you mean by predict? If someone can predict (correctly) the outcome of at least one game, then that's enough to make any money and no need to guess the more "complex" constructions of 10 or 16 games. But in fact, no one can do this (even bookmakers), everyone just "plays" with probabilities, and the result that is described in the first message of the thread is nothing more than luck.

USDT? on: May 10, 2022, 09:38:19 AM

440%: https://quickswap.exchange/#/quick/ETH/0xE6469Ba6D2fD6130788E0eA9C0a0515900563b59/0x03E215DeA6227af79FF4fEf1be4a7F1198ca43B7
Маленькие dex'ы дают 70%-118% в парах USDT\USDC-UST

Золотое время если предположить что UST не скаманет.
Но общее положение на рынке, видимо, панику будет разгонять и такие события на другие проекты скорее всего перекинутся.
765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PH banned online cockfighting - Worst gambling-related cases recorded! on: May 09, 2022, 08:48:18 PM
Cockfighting in the philippines might bad for real, but this online sabong(cockfighting) in the PH gave helped to many people who loss their job during pandemic season, but still of course it remains bad habit not only for the adult but of course gor the kids as well.

Yeah! that's what I'm saying because of no regulations, kids nowadays easily join and can access Gcash with the minimum regulations and that means they can cash in easily to bet and the problem here is the kids don't have any jobs at all except for the few of them, so where do you think they get their capital? this is a big question because before they even get addicted to playing online cockfighting, they already have this case where they might steal it from their parents or get it from illegal sources which we cannot even imagine.

But the adoption of cryptocurrencies will make transactions with money even easier for children, right? But we do not oppose adoption because of this, but on the contrary, we are all waiting for it. All phenomena have both pluses and minuses, but we cannot constantly forbid something because the phenomenon is not ideal and has minuses. We need to look for other solutions to this problem.
766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: May 09, 2022, 08:41:02 PM

It's not clear exactly what you're suggesting. "By default" everyone is in favor of peace - even those who started the war, it's just that everyone sees the peace differently. I think after Russia sets foot on the path of peace, recognizes its crimes and starts paying compensation for them, no one will be against the fact that Russian athletes return to all competitions.
Correct but then again everyone nation has their own interests and their definition of peace.
When its about peace in muslim country the whole is quiet and asleep but when it is white skin everyone would want to condemn the attackers -- Has there been any discussion done about Kashmir, Afghanistan, Syeria, Palestine?

Let's not add watbautism to this topic, because then we will endlessly jump from one topic to another. At the moment, all countries of the world have a consensus on the crimes of Russia, some countries like the occupied Belarus support the war of conquest, but the majority have a clear position on the ongoing events.
The longer this drags on, the more isolated Russia will fall, how many chess players or other athletes from North Korea do you know?

Let’s talk about the cons:
Ofcourse, there is a fly in any honey pot. Playing at an online crypto casino has some disadvantages that are worth thinking about, too.
Firstly, crypto-gambling is never a stable source of profit because anything can happen(loss) .

This phrase sounds strange to me. Firstly, does this only apply to crypto gambling? Secondly, no gambling can be a source of stable income, unless of course you are from the side of the casino, although I have heard that sometimes even casinos get into temporary drawdowns due to the fact that someone hits the jackpot.
768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 09, 2022, 08:13:41 PM
Long time with 31 years without facing European final bad thing for bigger team like AS Roma, but Jose Mourinho success give first final Europe competition although as level with UEFA Europa Conference League. AS Roma have all out on UEFA Europa Conference League final match because this only chance with trophy in this season and have been 13 years ago AS Roma without get trophy after 2007/2008 with Copa Italia trophy.

Apparently, Roma made a big bet on this final. Roma are currently playing Fiorentina and are losing 0-2 with 30 minutes left and it is unlikely that they will be able to avoid defeat. Thus, they become on the edge of the euro cups area. The best and most efficient way to ensure that Roma qualify for the Eurocups next season is to win the Conference League. I'm sure that now everyone in the team thinks only about this.

It takes practice for some time to be able to stop immediately after benefiting from the games we play. But most people will try to double the amount of profit they have already made by playing longer but that does not guarantee they can win more profits.

Maybe it's okay if we play a round or two after getting a profit but don't increase your bet amount because it can make you lose. Being wise is very necessary when we play gambling to avoid big losses.

There is a problem here in that people (at least addicts) play not in order to achieve some goal of "winning 100 thousand dollars" but for the sake of the process itself. It turns out that even after winning a large amount, they continue to play because this is their main goal and not money. Such people need therapy to shift the focus of their desires to something else. They literally need to learn to enjoy other activities.
771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: May 08, 2022, 01:55:26 PM
Honestly, I don't think Portugal is one of the favourites.
Undoubtedly my favorite is Brazil that made in the qualifiers one of the best campaigns in history with a younger but very competent attack.
Then I would bet on France, Argentina, England or Spain as possible champions.

I agree about Portugal, now it's a regular team that is close to the top but is not. I'm surprised you missed out on Germany, despite their recent setbacks they are always among the favorites to win any tournament. In general, I think that the winner will be somewhat random - if you take a group of 10-12 teams that really claim the title, then the difference in chances between the first and 12th will be no more than two times. Under such conditions, it is impossible to guess a specific winner (it is possible to guess, but it is impossible to calculate it analytically).
772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 08, 2022, 01:47:52 PM
I have heard many of these stories before.... people posting in gambling chat that they started with $5 and they pushed it to $150 and then losing that money within a few minutes. I think we are greedy and as soon as you won something big, you increase your bet size and you lose it quicker.  Roll Eyes

The old saying that says.... "The Only gambler that win, is the one that stops playing after a huge win" is so true. We win big.... and over time the casino just take back the winnings over time, because we do not stop playing.  Roll Eyes

It seems to me that from the first message in the thread it is obvious that he did not get a big win (and win in general) - he got on an unsuccessful series and tried to win back by raising the bet. He was unlucky and lost everything. Your proverb is true (for some cases) but very dangerous - if you follow it, you can lose all the money before the big win is received.

774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: May 07, 2022, 11:28:18 AM
@1.7 odds for Decision victory is worth placing a bet for Canelo Alvarez. I mean, that's "Canelo" and you won't see him getting odds like that regardless if it's a Win via Decision or Knock Out. However, since Bivol seems to be underrated, others might think that the match will end up in a KO victory by Canelo.

As per my own view without applying too much analysis, seems to me that Bivol can withstand Canelo until the 12th rounds.

Maybe a surprise too that Bivol can upset Canelo although the chances are really low in the eyes of the majority.

In my opinion, this is a very risky bet. It turns out that in addition to a small risk that Bivol wins, you take on the risk that Canelo in 12 rounds will not be able to knock him out. In total, these risks are quite serious and the coefficient of 1.7 does not compensate for them. I think that a fair odds for this outcome should be at least 1.9.
775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: May 07, 2022, 11:23:10 AM
I see that the bookmakers have not yet published team quotes for the upcoming final and are not yet accepting bets on this event. Most likely the favorite will be Roma.
By the way, has it already been explained somewhere why Mourinho was crying after the final whistle? I saw that he was so overwhelmed with emotions that he could not restrain himself. Is it because the match was tense, I did not think that Mourinho is capable of such emotions in such a tournament.
I was also very curious about this now just one crypto related site published their odds with Roma @2.20 Draw @3.40 and Fey@3.20. If someone interested he can join 1xbet which is doing business with fiat and altcoin both ways.

There is no doubt Mourinho is very emotional person, and he has done many good things as well in soccer world after very long time he has done good job and now have something to proud every one is going with his own views about this person in soccer but still I believe with his achievement's he deserves some respect because no doubt he is something special here at this post for soccer.

1xbet is a fraudulent project and I would not advise anyone to even just go there. On this forum, this issue was sorted out and you might have noticed that those forum members who wear 1xbet signatures receive negative feedback from members of the community included in DT1.
2.2 for Roma to win looks attractive, I thought Roma would be the more obvious favourite, but odds are likely to change by the start of the game.
776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Rollers on: May 07, 2022, 11:13:14 AM
To be honest, before drawing such conclusions, I would like to see some statistics that either confirm or refute this. Personally, it seems to me that high rollers usually play games where there is some illusion of control over the outcome of the competition - for example, betting on sports events. The bookmaker's edge is no less than the house edge (and often even higher) but there is an illusion that your analysis can be stronger than the bookmaker's analysis and that you have a chance to beat him.
Trying out to compare sports betting to games which are fully relying on luck then this is something that has some notable difference when it comes to odds or chances of winning.

High rollers would be always be having the edge or advantage since they do have bigger positions that they could set off but of course the risk is high too considering on the potential
amounts that they could lose.

On every gambling site there would be always these high rollers or whale players which just seeing on the way they do bet then it could really give out that
kind of feeling that you are really that poor.  Cheesy

I don't think so. From a mathematical point of view, the advantage of the player/casino does not change in any way from the amount of funds available, it is always constant. The only thing high rollers have an obvious advantage is in getting bonuses that depend on the amount of funds wagered - a regular player has no chance to beat them because his bets are too small.
777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: May 07, 2022, 10:38:30 AM
Well you're right, although there is something I don't understand, what neutral point are you talking about? I do not understand very well in what area you are saying it, you mean that a neutral point is that Russian athletes must renounce their nationality to ensure their career, represent another country, because I think that in Belarus they will also have their ban, or if it is that he already has it, on the other hand, if they don't do anything about it, all the Russian athletes who are very good, not only in chess but in any sport, should give him a golden opportunity so that they don't lose all the effort of a lifetime training a sport.
I think the more focus should be on peace. The world is surfing a lot. Earlier due to Corona and not these wars and sanctions. Which are affecting each and every domain. By neutral stance means they should not be aggressive and listen to other and help to reduce tension. Sooner or later this war will end, But of course soon the better.

779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where does your country stand ? on: May 06, 2022, 05:26:55 PM
The United States is not in this ranking, probably because it has a very large population and the ranking is based on the average loss per citizen of the country. Therefore, the total losses of US citizens must be huge to be in this ranking. UK may be in 11th or 12th place, who knows, unfortunately we only see the top 10 places.

I think you are mistaken here. The ranking is not based upon the loss but it is based on "Countries That Gamble The Most" and in this case US should be on top of the list. I think we should double check from another source too to check if the information provided by the site is authentic or not.

You say we need to double check the information but you haven't even read the article we're discussing, hehe. Here is a quote from the article:

Quote
Whenever gambling is mentioned, the glitzy images of Les Vegas come to mind. America has been considered as a gaming nation for a very long time. However, America is not the world’s biggest gambler as many would think. In fact, the biggest gamblers in the world include countries that are least suspect. The ranking of the 200 gambling countries is based on data provided by H2 Gambling Capital. The ranking takes into account the losses in a year divided by the adult population. The losses include the entire amount lost on all types of gaming including poker, slot machine, horse racing, and casinos.
source

As you can see, the calculation is done exactly as I said. And it is even emphasized that despite the image of the United States, it is far from the top of the most playing countries. By the way, I would like to know your version of the calculation of this rating - by what method should it be done and why do you think that the USA should be in the top?

I also assume the OP is referencing the away goals rule, and yes, this has already been removed.

Personally, I think it's good that it was removed. There are quite a few reasons why I was against the rule, but just a couple 1) It just feels unfair that a draw over two legs can result in a winner. If a team wins the first leg 3-1, and then loses the second leg 2-0, then it's 3-3 on aggregate, and neither side should be perceived as having "won", and more importantly 2) If it's level over two legs, and the match goes to extra time - it's only the second leg that goes to extra time, not both of them... so the side that's away in the second leg just gets a huge advantage... if both teams score one goal in extra time, it means the away team "win".

No, as for the second point, this rule has never worked in this way - if extra time started, then if there is a draw, there will be only a penalty shoot-out, neither team received an advantage.

I think everyone is happy about the abolition of this rule. It was initially stupid: it was introduced because it was assumed that the away team would play more attacking football, since goals are "cost" expensive. But in reality, the home teams started playing more defensive football because of these considerations. And instead of increasing entertainment, the opposite result was obtained.
