I didn't know Raphael Varane had a condition on his contract to extend his contract by one more year. However Manchester United don't seem to be keen on activating this condition. They really seem determined to let him go for now. I don't know how Varane's performance dropped this much and came to the point of parting ways with him.
That injury of him must have had a serious affect though. But I still don't expect him to be like this all the time from now on. If he is given more time he can improve his performance. If the Red Devils let him go anyway maybe we can see Real Madrid going for him. Because they are in need of a defender these days after the recent injuries emerged.

With Brighton's inconsistency so far, I think it is quite unreasonable to place Brighton as favorites to win the European League title this season. I understand in football anything can still happen but it is very difficult for Brighton in European league competition. Moreover, strong teams dropping from the Champions League to the European League will also make the competition to win the title even hotter.
Brighton is a newcomer to the European league this season and just being able to get a higher level is already a great achievement.
