761  Other / Politics & Society / Re: WHO declares rapidly spreading monkeypox outbreak a global health emergency on: July 24, 2022, 07:04:23 PM
Is this the new black swan that should crash all markets?
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/07/23/who-declares-spreading-monkeypox-outbreak-a-global-health-emergency.html?

"The WHO declared monkeypox a global health emergency.
The rare designation means the WHO now views the outbreak as a significant enough threat to global health that a coordinated international response is needed.
The WHO last issued a global health emergency in January 2020 in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Europe is the epicenter of the outbreak. Right now, men who have sex with men are the community at highest risk.
The WHO chief said the global risk is moderate, but the threat is high in Europe.
Monkeypox is unlikely to disrupt international trade or travel right now, the WHO chief said."

No not at all. This isn't going to be a major black swan event. First of all this isn't a new virus it's just another outbreak which also is not that contagious like Covid and all. The number of cases in total are pretty low and then moreover the death rate is pretty low in this case so I dont think this will affect the global markets in any manner. Covid was on an altogether different level compared to this. These types of viruses have been coming and going it's only after Covid we are noticing them.

Currently Bangladesh's performance in ODI cricket is really shocking me. If Bangladesh can develop in T20 and Test cricket the way they have developed in ODI cricket then I I think Bangladesh will be one of the favorites in cricket. They recently toured the West Indies and won the series by defeating the West Indies by three nil Hope Bangladesh in future ODI cricket hope Bangladesh will achieve better success in ODI cricket in future.
Exactly my point. I was surprised to see that yesterday West Indies went so close in Match against India it could have almost been a defeat for India. While on the other hand Bangladesh clean sweeped West Indies so easily. All the 3 matches in that series were so one sided. But Bangladesh have to become consistent as well especially have to play good in big tournaments upcoming Asia Cup can be a good test for them.

Bangladeshi bowlers were very successful against West Indies. But we did not see a good performance from the Indian bowlers yesterday. The team did not have players like Jadeja and Bumrah. If these two players were there, maybe the performance of the Indian bowlers would have been better. However, the Bangladesh team has been playing really well in the ODI format. They should give equal effort in T20 and Test formats also.
Yes exactly i think bowling first has helped the Bangladesh the most, i think India lacked those star performer bowlers which really made the difference but it's high time now India should stop being over reliant on Bumrah only. Siraj is doing good we need to have second brilliant in form star bowler in our team as well. Bhuvaneshwar is good but not consistent enough more or less same is the case with Shami as well.
763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating people on Bitcoin for free on: July 23, 2022, 07:40:30 PM
Despite the fact that just a few countries have made Bitcoin a legal tender, the truth  Bitcoin is going to be adopted by the whole world as a decentralized global digital currency.
But One of the set back for Bitcoin adoption is the lack of proper awareness about Bitcoin and the stereotyped opinion of most newbies in Bitcoin that make Bitcoin look like a get-rich-quick scheme, this assumption about Bitcoin has made many frustrated when their investment/holdings in bitcoin go down during a bear market. So there is a need for enlightenment on the key features and purpose of bitcoin adoption.
I have tried my best to educate people around me on the basic concept of Bitcoin and make them aware of the advantages and disadvantages of Bitcoin adoption and how best to minimize the risk associated with Bitcoin, to attain some level of self-satisfaction through Bitcoin.
Yes definitely one should definitely educate everyone for absolutely free. Upto the maximum extent one should try to distribute their knowledge but obviously there are some skills that you have learnt which you have to sell in order to earn money and not all education can be free so it's even okay to charge minimal amounts for the education that you are providing. Talking about adoption and the way it has grown i feel adoption would grow more rapidly if people would know about the returns of bitcoin rather than the utility behind it.

765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's faceless identity is the greatest Bitcoin success strategy on: July 23, 2022, 03:50:58 PM

I really bet to disagree with your point. Bitcoin too can be called centralized in this context. Satoshi Nakamoto holds 1 Million bitcoins, which is roughly 5% of the total supply of bitcoins as it is 21 Million. This actually is too much and enough to actually call this coin centralized as well. Infact some other cryptocurrencies have even less promoter holding than this. But yes the only advantage here is that one the creator is anonymous and secondly it has not moved even a single penny from what the holds so far which indicates bitcoin is quite safe to hold and obviously much better than the rest.
Satoshi Nakamoto Bitcoin holding is actually more than 1 million as you mentioned, and no bits have been used since the bitcoin was locked in Satoshi's wallets. But no one knows if Satoshi still has access to the wallet holding the coins.
I think this is pretty stupid to think that because he hasn't moved a single bitcoin from his address he might have lost the private key. There are huge chances he has some other wallet as well which we people aren't aware of and is enough for him to do his daily transactions and he is just keeping his bitcoin locked for the right time moreover he knows even a slightest of movement from his vault will attract huge attention from throughout the world so he might also not be doing this because of this.
Years have passed and no transaction is made from that specific wallet. This increases the trust over the network, because a transaction made from the particular wallet will surely make disturbance in the market. In specific the network might loss it's feature of functioning without lying on someone's decision.
Moving funds into those known satoshi wallet or any of them would really be signifying that Satoshi is still alive and i dont see for it to be a negative thing but rather a positive one since the entire community do knows
that he's still living and rather give out that kind of boost up and so much trust in bitcoin although there are some cons with it which some people might be thinking that he came back just for him to sell off this bag
which might create some fud and panic on the entire market although we cant be sure but the probabilities are  there and we know on how peoples mind do really play on these particular times.
For now lets just not stress ourselves on finding satoshi because it cant really be known whether his still existing or already dead.
I think at this point it's no more important to find Satoshi and definitely he too isn't going to reveal his identity even if he is alive by any chance. I too think him revealing his identity will be a big blow in the market it will shift lots of things and parameters and no one knows whether things will go bullish or bearish. But yes it would have been great if the inventor of this great invention could be honoured suitably on global level.
766  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FTX, Alameda proposes liquidity plan for Voyager customers on: July 23, 2022, 03:45:45 PM
FTX Proposes Joint Plan to Offer Early Liquidity to Voyager Digital's Customers in Bankruptcy Proceeding.

  • Customers Would Receive Immediate Liquidity and the Option to Signup with FTX
  • Voyager Debtors Can Continue to Pursue Three Arrows Capital for Additional Recoveries

This is a well played move for FTX because they will forced this customers to use there exchange and have profit on it from trading fees. I was skeptical before on why Sam interested on helping Voyager before but now I know why he is interested on this dying company. It's sad to hear that investors will received only part of there money but still it's already good than nothing.

Source:https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/07/22/ftx-to-offer-early-liquidity-to-customers-of-bankrupt-crypto-lender-voyager/
This just proves how smart Sam is to first do sort of an hostile takeover of the Voyager whose bankruptcy obviously could have been pretty bad for FTX and then very intelligently gave them the funds in his own exchange which will bring in some new customers in the exchange for zero cost and there are fancy chances that these people have would stay with this exchange only and only won't switch their money to any other place.
767  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Forex trading a good way of making money ? on: July 23, 2022, 03:41:00 PM
Seeing that we might be in a bear market for the next year or more, I've been thinking of giving the currency market a try. It would seem that the currency market is ongoing and uncorrelated to stocks and market crashes, because currencies rise and fall all the time and their fluctuations can make you money if you can position yourself correctly. So my plan could be to spend a few weeks learning to trade the Forex markets and see whether that works or not. I'm only wondering what kind of information you base your trading positions on ? Would you have to be reading a lot of financial information just to make one move ? In crypto, sometimes we research a project for a few days before deciding whether to invest on it or not. And even after that, you need to keep up with the latest updates and news to avoid rug pulls and such like what happened to Terra and Celsius. I wonder how much information you'd have to process if you get deep into Forex trading ?
I think trading in general of all types is a good way of making money but the catch is you should know how to do it. You just can't say you don't know trading and are still trying to earn money through it. There will be a complete learning phase before you can actually enter the heights of the market and every market has it's own micro and macro economic indicators. I think it doesn't matter which Market it is once you train yourself enough you can trade in almost any market.

Match is stuck at a very important junction here. With 4 overs left 47 runs to score. If this would have been any other team I would have said chances are slim for the batting side. But it's west Indies and slog batting is their strength, this is their main area so chances of them taking away this match looks slightly higher to me than India taking this. Only way is to take one wicket here and then only We'll be able to take away this match.
The odds were moving rapidly in the final few overs and Shikhar Dhawan kept his cool in picking the right bowlers and Mohammed Siraj bowled really well even though he conceded runs majority were edges to the boundary. It was a nerve biting match as i did not expect the match to be this close considering how badly they performed against Bangladesh not to far ago. If Nicholas Pooran stayed at the crease for some more time, they would have changed the situation.
It is better to place live bets in this series.
Man what a match it was ended with India winning just be 4 runs at once i thought this will be a cakewalk to win for India. But it eventually ended up being a very interesting match. West Indies clearly indicating that this series will not be a one sided one, if India gets defeated they will definitely regret sending the A-team for this tour instead of the first choice team.
~snip~.

Yes... Fancode has quality streams. They always have at least 4-5 live matches going on. I normally ignore matches involving "national" teams comprised entirely of foreigners, but domestic matches such as Pondicherry T20 league and Shpageeza Cricket Lague are interesting. And their fee is comparable with other streaming platforms such as Hotstar and Amazin Prime. But the catch is that they don't have anything other than sports. So Fancode maybe preferred only by hardcore sports fans (especially cricket fans).
Best part is there is no ads there, watched only last 3-4 overs and it was weird experience to watch Indian fixtures with no ads breaks, kinda refreshing and almost felt like SKY coverage so 600-700rs for a year is not bad deal at all. Tbh i won't mind paying even 5000-6000 inr yearly for ad free + 50 FPS stream for Indian international fixtures +IPL + Ashes but it should be on single platform.

Jio TV also streams cricket without a single advertisement. The catch here is that they will stream only matches that are played in India or being played against India. The service is absolutely free if you are Jio prime member. I am not sure how many of you have tried it. They are far better than hotstar when it comes to IPL that is for sure.
Really? I thought the matches being streamed by star can't be streamed anywhere else infact all the star channels don't even come on Jio tv this series might be coming because star doesn't has the right for this series.

India started the innings well. They scored 127 runs in the first 20 overs. The run rate was over 6. But due to middle order failure, India mustered only 267 after 46 overs. I don't think India can give a target of more than 300 at the moment. They collected only 17 runs in the last 6 overs. I did not expect to see such bad batting from India's experienced batsmen.
India is not playing their best team in this series as everyone is rested and India really failed to capitalize on the great start they had and at one point i thought they would score well over 350 runs but would end up scoring 308 runs and West Indies was able to pick wickets at regular intervals. After watching the Bangladesh series i am not expecting any surprises from West Indies chasing the score but with second string bowling attack who knows what would happen.

770  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: AI prediction/forecasting for Bitcoin and crypto trends on: July 22, 2022, 09:01:47 PM
Hi,

I reserach and extensively use AI and machine learning for trends prediction in bitcoin and other crypto's as well.
The model is built using cutting edge algorithms and it is capable of predicting 5 days ahead with more than 90% accuracy.
On top of prediction, almost all trading strategies and risk managment would be improved significantly.

Would you in the sea of dishonest vendors selling renamed RSI, be interested in buying real AI predictions?
Here's photo of testing chart for the last few months:

EDIT:
One more photo where model is trained for daytrading, predicting next day in advance:

What is the basics of this? Is this just using multiple indicators and price action? Or is it factoring in all the macro economic indicators as well? I suggest you give some thesis behind this if you want someone to believe this idea. To me so far this looks imaginary let's wait for few days to see if the market still moves as per your line. But will love to know about this in detail.

772  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid loan apps, a word of advice. on: July 22, 2022, 07:11:41 PM
Actually the whole concept of buy now and pay later has become so prevalent these days. People are really attracted to this whole concept. Because calculating everything in terms of the EMI makes that thing looks quite cheap and more affordable than it actually is. This is why major companies provide so many offers to credit card holders because this is increasing the overall spending in the market and changing the spending habits of the people. These loan apps are just here to increase your spending and increase their earnings, first they will offer the services for free and when you are addicted they will charge hefty money from you for all this.
Well, that’s mainly because of the inflation, and the new generation being a bit more smarter. Let’s face it, our parents didn't had wikipedia, or social media on their finger tips, they had to read hundreds of pages of books just to learn one thing about life, now we learn many many other things in a much more compact way, sure not that much in detail, but have a general idea of the concept. Which means that we get the idea of inflation and what it means for creating debt.

If I have to pay 1k dollars per month today, that's bad for my economy and would push my limits, but if I pay that for 30 years, by year 30 that would be nearly free for me, would not matter at all, hence why we do buy now (at the current price) and pay later (when I earn more thanks to inflation). Makes sense.
Yes if you are wise enough to understand the concept of personal finance then obviously these schemes are heavenly for you. But this generation has increased their spending habits marginally after all this. Which means we are buying things we don't need just because we have the facility to pay for it later which might sound good to you but actually is really bad for any one's personal finances.
773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla: "We have converted approximately 75% of our BTC into fiat currency" on: July 22, 2022, 07:06:18 PM
This is really strange. They obviously cannot sell for loss or else this loss would have been reflected in their income statement and this would have been a big failure of Elon that he bought Bitcoin at such high levels only because he wanted and now sold it at loss just because of his wish. This will give a very bad image of Tesla's corporate governance. Moreover this would have been the new buzz of the market if this would have happened so I don't think this has happened so far.
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countries have banned Bitcoin; Do you believe is because of criminal activities on: July 17, 2022, 05:01:21 PM

Most countries are giving excuses and  reason for banning Bitcoin is because it can easily be used to fund crimes.
But I think they are afraid of losing control of their citizens' financial activities because they believe being the ones regulating financial activities makes them powerful.
What are your thoughts
I think money laundering is obviously a big problem, tax evasion and black money. All these problems are actually crimes only if you see from a nation's perspective. So this is the reason why countries have banned bitcoin to safeguard the income being generated from taxes. But yes there is a lot of tax evasion even if people don't use bitcoin. People always know how to find a way to evade taxes. Cryptocurrencies just form a very small percentage out of all the tax evasion that happens all around the world. So it's more or less just a Myth.
775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 17, 2022, 04:45:14 PM
It would be interesting to watch Kohli's batting performance today. I think the English side should be able to score more than 200 runs. They have lost 5 wickets but they have already scored 160 plus runs. I am not expecting much from Kohli in this match and I think this match will pretty much end up his career.

In this game, Kohli was unable to score more than 17 runs. Don't lose hope, Virat Kohli, you'll always come back stronger than before. When 3 wickets have already fallen, they don't seem to have the patience to stick around, but Pant and Pandya are forming a solid partnership now. Furthermore I don't see any obstacle that will prevent them from reaching the winning total and winning the ODI series.
Interesting to see the partnership between Pant and Pandya, it's good to see both these players in form before the world cup. I wish even Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could come back in form so that the whole team looks good for the world cup. These 2 senior players have to be in form if India wants to win the world cup, because you cannot remove these players from playing 11 and if they remain in this form it is just hurting the batting line up.
776  Economy / Economics / Re: Unemplyment at least 50% how world will look like then ? on: July 17, 2022, 04:28:48 PM
t entirely true to be honest. Even though the mentality of the people is a big factor why most of the people remain unemployed. Lack of good paying opportunities is an equal problem. If a good 17 year education followed by an institutionalised degree cannot land you a good paying job then obviously the whole education system should be changed. It's wrong to affix the responsibility of being unemployed on the person himself. Some people think organized education is enough and ideally it should be if you are paying this much for it.
I am not sure if they are adding freelancers in the count or not?
Many youngsters are not applying for jobs but they do their own work from the comfort of their home. Are they unemployed too?

No not at all. As per OECD, unemploymeny means

Quote
People above a specified age not being in paid employment or self-employment but currently available for work during the reference period.

The freelancers are counted in self employed people while the people who are not looking for jobs will be under the category of not available to work. So both these type of people are excluded from the calculation or ideally should be excluded from this calculation i don't know how are these people doing it.
777  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Prompt safe staking with good APY on: July 17, 2022, 01:19:49 PM
Good afternoon, everyone, no matter how I tried to find entertainment for myself in this market, I can’t do anything, I even started trading with leverage, etc. I lost a lot of money in such a bear market and I want to calm down a little, I heard that there are options to earn big money on bets in different liquidity pools and staking, I want to know where you can find a platform that will show the best percentages for betting and liquidity. It is desirable that a verified site or platform, otherwise it was enough for me to get into a couple of scam pools and I no longer want to lose my money, if there are options with different percentages I will be glad to see and read thanks

I think one should go for staking in only the top 20-25 coins. Even though the APY will be lesser, the investment would be safe, and not to mention the price volatility risk would also be lower. Even in top coins, I would suggest splitting up your money into various coins to create a portfolio sort of a thing so that there is one coin like LUNA which dumps like anything, not all your money is gone by this. But yes HODLing becomes even better if you stake your coins and get a good APY. There is nothing like that, only thing is to find the coin at the right price. Just don't be stuck with buying and staking the coins in bull run, instead average out your buys in various sets to ensure you get the optimum price.
778  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid loan apps, a word of advice. on: July 17, 2022, 01:02:53 PM
Over the week, a friend and I had a conversation about loans and loan apps and she shared a bitter experience of how she was unable to write a very important exam because the money meant for payment of fees to qualify for that exam was deducted by a certain loan app that she collected money from a while ago.  Who will you really blame? My friend for not paying up as at when due or the loan app for not notifying her before the deduction.
In all, I advice that we should try to avoid any business with loan apps as they seem to be very numerous these days and are easily accessible. Most importantly, You should know that you are at the danger of developing a habit of borrowing from them if you patronise loan apps even for the smallest amount.

One can not conceive any constructive thought about crypto currency without picturing Bitcoin as the symbol of cryptocurrency, in fact, I always tell newbies that there are two types of cryptocurrencies in the world to which are.
1- Bitcoin= decentralized free ecosystem coin aka the king of crypto.
2-  altcoins=shit coin highly centralized and controlled cryptocurrencies aka altcoins.

A close look and observations of both will tell you what their both stand for, their strength and weaknesses e.g
Bitcoin is a highly decentralized digital currency that gives its user total control, this freedom is possible because the Bitcoin network is on an automatic pilot mood. That is to say, no individual owned or control its network, so the room for influence is zero since the Bitcoin creator remain anonymous a long time ago.
Altcoins on the other hand are suffering from the grips of capitalization, over the controlled and highly unsecured method of network protocols, since their creators are known and they have 100% control of the coins, this has made the altcoin market become a dumping ground for bad projects and coin development.
These factors of Satoshi's lawlessness have made Bitcoin stand out and become the image representing cryptocurrency today and if Satoshi is identified today I think Bitcoin will start losing its position as number one.
I really bet to disagree with your point. Bitcoin too can be called centralized in this context. I don't understand the point of this thread. The reasons that you have given why governments are concerned for legalising Cryptocurrencies relate to the problem of national interest only. If their would be increase in criminalization eventually the nation is suffering. Governments are being mean only in one context that they want to keep the control of economy with themselves but that too can be said as a national interest reason being imagining a decentralised economy is still a wild thought and no one actually knows how successful will it be
