Have been kicked out of the slack after holding this coin for 2 years b/c I stated this was a money grab and scammy behaviour. Well done James
I did ask for you to not be banned, that wasnt my decision. you can be reinstated if you want

I was kicked out of slack after telling one of the admins that he is dumb stupid fuck.
He is.
there is no call for personal insults, please lets try to be civil

Just one sincere thing James:

I understand that you cannot value BTCD at X10 of current prices for the ico, but the value of 0.0053 seems to me too low. Lots of people have trust in you all this time, buying lots of BTCD upper that level, and I think they deserve a bigger reward from you.

I'm not telling to value BTCD at X10, but the current valuation is too low.

Always remember the ones who have been loyal and benefit them, that's a key rule in finance man...

but why would anyone invest in btc than?

If you value BTCD at 0.01 you'll get almost the same BTC's and you'll have most of BTCD holders much more happy than they're now.

Myself, I was planning a BTCD at 20-30 M $ valuation in a year with iguana coming, but this changes everything...

Don't know what to say man... broken plans... Huh

That's the thing. We have all being waiting for iguana which was so close, I have invested some funds way above 0.004 hoping that when your job is finally done it would be worth much more. So what do I get now? Looks like I should have staid off. Not complaining, your projects always returned me some cash, but to promise something for months and then when almost everything is ready to say we will only buy it at the current price, no more then that,  .....

completely agree with this
iguana is still on track, independent of komodo
komodo will get the iguana of course

as to price, just think of it as a little pause. The flip side of having a known price is that it wont go down too far from it either. Markets have prices going up and down and the price is at essentially a 1 year all time high price

We have to be a fair and balanced pricing for the ICO investors. the fact that there is all this complaining that it is unfair to BTCD holders, I guess means that ICO investors wont be complaining we gave BTCD holders too good of a deal.

Especially since I am a large holder of BTCD, I hope you can see how I had to err on the side of not overrewarding BTCD holders.

Also, the ICO funds that come in will allow a lot more to be accomplished.

Maybe it is a short term paper loss for some and I apologize for that. If it makes you feel any better, I am suffering the same paper loss and probably a lot larger scale than most anybody.

I have been working on the core nonstop, literally 14+ hrs per day 28 days per month for over 2 years. And in the last year I doubled the SuperNET NAV after having neglected it and letting it drop 75% due to NXT price decline.

I couldnt go public with the plan as that would have contaminated the price average. And if it was pushed up to .01 by BTCD holders who wanted to boost their share of the komodo (admit it you would have thought about doing it), then it would have been sabotaging the ICO investors.

So if you are suffering, I feel your pain directly and to a larger degree. I did what I believe is fair to both sides and just keep in mind that while the price probably wont go up too much, it wont go down too much either

Let us try to focus on the breakthrough that dPoW is and the introduction of zero knowledge proofs.

What is the situation for BTCD holders? How is this not abandonment?

I was wondering the same thing, is this essentially replacing it? Plus, out of interest how many ICOs has jl777 launched over the years?
this is actually my first coin ANN

I did do SuperNET 2 years ago along with NXT assets, but over the last year I havent even issued any assets that I can think of.

Are you part of the WAVES project?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1387944.msg14102621#msg14102621

Interesting...
Might need to contact 99designs.com and transition from that Microsoft Word logo to something a little more sexy though Wink
Who are the NXT developers involved in WAVES?
Hm  I find it sexy enough Smiley
devs involved: JL777, Kushti.  I'm the project leader, Coinomat at NXTforum.
Advisor to an ICO is a lot different than conducting one
I have helped on countless projects, mostly behind the scenes

So only btcd swappers are elegible for all the promised supernet revenues?
btcd holders at the end of the ICO
766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 01, 2016, 09:24:10 PM
so the snapshot is as of august 31st?
right after ICO closes, likely mid november

BTCD holders will benefit from Komodo. The revenue share that was promised won't go over to Komodo holders, but instead BTCD holders will get an asset.

this part i dont understand

The nodes will generate transaction fees while processing them through bitcoin network. At least this is what I understood. And I'm right, this is really an interesting idea and should definetly entertain it.

We are once again in a period of searching and creating the most anonymous coin. This could be the one. However the required funds to run this operation should be too much and I guess you won't be able to achiev it if you can't at least collect a minimum number.

Anyway, always appericiate the new ideas. I might hop in with my friends on day one if you guys keep up your professionalsim until the start of the ICO.

Good luck.
Thank you for being the first to notice the significance of dPoW
It combines the best aspects of the currently known consensus methods.

PoS for energy efficiency
elected nodes that represent the stakeholders to ensure timely blocks (and also they will automatically stake for all addresses)
and bitcoin PoW for the strongest security possible

the "d" is for delayed. You dont benefit from the bitcoin protection until the corresponding blockhash is notarized and on the bitcoin blockchain. Plus there is alignment delays between the two chains. And expensive txfees will need to be paid for the bitcoin notary tx, they are like supersized multisig tx

In the meantime, a time tested NXT style PoS algo is used by a set of notaries that were elected using a bitshares style voting.

So you can see that I am open to all the best tech ideas across all of crypto.

All of this to secure the best privacy tech known to mankind: zcash zero knowledge proofs

James

Hey James, great work man. Cheesy

I suppose that Polo and Bittrex will do the swap so Komodo/BTC market can be open just the next days after the ICO ends right? I wouldn't like to wait months to trade Komodo in the exchanges... Wink

a bit of time will be needed after ICO ends to create the genesis block and exchanges like to have a mainnet working for a few weeks, so trading in 2 days is unlikely

however since BTCD will be a proxy for komodo, it could start trading as if it were komodo. hard to predict

I am disappointed too. I was waiting for this coin to at least get back to the price I bought it for 2 years ago, and now you priced it at 0.0053
Just give BTCD holders fixed % of 100 mil KMD.
If you have been patient for so long, then what is 2 months to get 100x the liquidity, a development/marketing warchest, etc?

komodo ICO is not the end station, it is the start

This.

Atleast it could have been a 50% bonus on the last known price before the announcement. BTCD investors getting the D.
It is a balance. If the terms were too much biased for BTCD, then it is against the ICO investors.

So we could have said 10x the last BTCD price and gotten 5 BTC raised
Somehow I think you will be happier to have raised more and benefit from the added liquidity, development and marketing such funds can achieve
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 01, 2016, 08:43:46 PM
I would prefer direct BTCD to KMD swap at the fixed rate without BTC price involvement. There were low price phase, then price jumps all of the sudden, dumps. Market was manipulated.
I dont think the market has factored in the 1 year redemption period or the revshare asset snapshot value
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: September 01, 2016, 08:28:28 PM
Three questions:

Will the amount of 200 million KMD after 14 years be the final amount? If so, will it become POS afterwards?

What part will Komodo play in SuperNET? Will it be possible to swap BTCD stored in Supernet wallet to KMD?
I didnt plan to support direct conversion of superBTCD, but maybe we can do that. probably easier just to withdraw via MGW to native and then convert, or maybe we can do MGW withdraw's to a conversion address.

dont worry, we wont strand anybody and will ensure everybody is able to swap. there is a 1 year period for the swap starting after ICO closes.

after it reaches 200 million then it will have to be transaction fees to pay for the notary nodes

Assuming reasonable growth, blocksize capacity increases, I dont see any problem in the txfees to support the notary servers indefinitely

dPoW combines a NXT style PoS with bitcoin PoW utilizing notary nodes that are elected by komodo stakeholders. that is similar to how bitshares/steemit selects witness nodes

In komodo's case the ICO investors will be the ones to determine most of the notary nodes, along with BTCD holders, so it will be a very distributed electorate.

Also the notary nodes provide an added layer of security but they cant be spending anybody's funds, they just approve what is submitted.Still an important part of the blockchain, but they dont touch anybody's funds or keys

Will BTCD be all converted into this one? Or will they coexist? What's the point of switching to Komodo if BTCD has so much more potential?
komodo is btcd 2.0, rebranded
all of BTCD potential infuses komodo

Komodo is BTCD 2.0 why you will be able to swap your BTCD at a bonus. Komodo includes all of BTCD's potential and more.
Because I have never heard of Komodo being in the center of Supernet, Iguana and other connected projects ...
komodo is btcd 2.0
notice the name "komodo" is a lizard, like iguana

How will the swap from BTCD be done? The total number of coins is very different
there will be a multiplier

Guys please write some more comparison/goals in what KMD will be better then other currencies?

Faster? More scalability? SuperFriendly wallet?

Saying "new standard of crypto currency" is what each new project is saying. PR blsht. And there is round 2 new projects each month saying exactly the same. I believe in tech guys behind it, but saying some blsht is somehow distracting.

You are goind to present sth inteligent here - please present it inteligent way! Smiley

Will it be any different then other "new standards" ?

I hope it's only placeholder for the beggining, but it's good to start with good, inteligent placeholders also Smiley
It combines zcash zero knowledge proofs with a new consensus mechanism called dPoW, which uses the bitcoin hashrate to secure weaker chains.

We are 6 weeks from start of fund raising, so please be a bit patient for all the required information to be provided
