Ideal Reserve @ 500ms for full confirmation globally.

That's gotta be bullshit, centralized or doesn't scale at all. It should take more than 500ms for tx to even propagate though the network.
Is there a whitepaper or anything on how they plan to achieve that ?
762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NODE with Node-pay & Node-bank included the ultimate solution ? on: March 26, 2015, 12:13:45 PM
I think it's way too early to say.

1) No actual whitepaper how the network works especially regarding instant-tx
2) No details on how NODEPay will actually work. It sounds like a centralized exchange (like Bter, Cryptsy,...) only that it's run by the same people that "run" the cryptocurrency. I also don't see any advantage over Ripple (quite the oppsosite actually).

So yeah...too early. Rly there are no details on anything available.

It's definitely worth keeping an eye on though.
763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 26, 2015, 07:13:24 AM
launch is still planned for march? Because i hate last minute cancellation  Roll Eyes Smiley

Yep they said March, 6 days left!  Shocked There have been so many last minute cancellations there is no way they would do that agin.

They would do it again if it's necessary.
Are people really still not getting that ?
764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 24, 2015, 07:37:14 PM
I have 2 questions.

1) How many coins wil we get for our stake? 9billion/4k ~2.25m/stake is true?

2) I said two weeks ago that I forgot to note my public key when registering my stake. But now, I cannot verify my whether NEM address and private key are correct due to lack of public key.
So , is there any way to replace my old address with a new one? Or do I just wait and hope my private key and address are correct?
1) Yes
2) 23rd March was deadline to change address, you can ask pat for help.

afaik its too late to change it now.. if its just a case of missing your public key, and verification worked at the time you created the details, most likely the details are still ok.

yeah it is too late. If you only lost your public key you should be fine though.
765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NODE Revolution: "Money is a means of payment, not speculation" (с) on: March 24, 2015, 07:35:10 PM
Afaik , POA is still active but activity points are out of formula. I think online nodes get the tx fees just only according to account holdings.

Which means it's currently POS. I'd also be interested in the status of fixing POA.
Before its was Node uptime+txs and now just uptime of NODE. The more you run Node the more chances to forge a block and in POS you have to be rich to forge  Grin, isnt it bit different?  Tongue i could be wrong  Lips sealed

Oh so uptime is still being counted and just activity in form of tx has been "disabled" ? Good to know Smiley

768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fastest transactions for an altcoin on: March 23, 2015, 08:01:12 AM
So far all instant-tx implementations I know of always introduce some form of centralization. That's not necessarily a huge problem but everyone has to decide for himself if instant-tx are worth abandoning complete decetranlization. Personally I feel like if the centralization is kept to a minimum it's alright.
With that in mind I guess any DPOS should be relatively secure. Ripple should also be fine but since there are afaik very few validators I'm not sure how much I'd be willing to trust it.
NODE appears to have instant tx but sofar there is no whitepaper that actually explains how it's going to be achieved and honestly the thing just isn't finished yet (tx not always getting through, POA had to be disabled, ...). It's worth keeping an eye on though.
769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 23, 2015, 07:32:37 AM
$35MM market cap (~1500 sats per XEM)

I think market cap will be somewhere 40-50m by end 2015

Doubtfull.
I'd be delighted if we managed to hold a top 10 place steadily.
It's goot to reach high but being delusional doesn't do anyone any good Smiley

I made one my testing wallet corrupted some way after installing a new version, or this is made by incompatibility with new versions and not by my machine's registry?

An incompatiblity was created when addresbooks were introduced. I don't think it has anything todo with the registry as that should all be handeld by the installer/uninstaller.

Without erroe messages noone can help you.
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 22, 2015, 10:21:54 AM
Will the keeping, deleting or breaking my wallet now in beta have any impact on functionality or compatibility of real XEM account after launch?

Almost at the same PC, because the system seems to be still keeping some files in registry after uninstalling the old versions of NEM client so i need to avoid every possible trouble.

What do you mean with files in registry ? What exactly ?

How can I withdraw from the web wallet at nodemoney.com?

Can someone tell me what I need to do.

Thanks!

Wouldn't recommend using the webwallet !!!
It's worth to spend those 2 minutes downloading and installing and however much time the syncing takes Smiley
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 21, 2015, 01:09:16 PM
I have Problems to start the Client.

I had installed the last Client-Version and tried to enter my account ( 1wallet found), but if enter my Wallet-Password i get the error Message:

              ERROR  121
The adress book file does not exist
 Huh

Edit:\\

..I deleted all NEM-Files manual like in the 4th Reply postetd https://forum.ournem.com/index.php?pretty;board=beta-launch-discussion;topic=nem-beta-0-5-4.0 and installed the Client Software again.

..now everything works und my Real-Account-Datas seems to be OK  Cool

I have the same problem. But it doesn't work for me, or maybe im doing it wrong. So what to do after I deleted my wallet (the .wlt file)? If i install it again (without my wallet) it doesen't find my wallet, which is no surprise... Do i need to create a new wallet with the same name or should I copy in the old?

For me it was the same, -> no wallet found

I pushed the button "create an new one" and insert the Username and Passwort from my old wallet,....the everything was fine.

If you delete your wallet then it is indeed not surprising that no wallet is found Smiley
When the address book feature was introduced it created some incompatibilities with wallets created prior. Best thing to resolve such things is to delete the whole nem folder and start from scratch. Use the db snapshot provided by the devs so you don't have to sync from scratch.

This will of course not work after launch ! Don't delete your wallet willy nilly after launch !

Say 'soon' again, I dare you, I double dare you motherfucker, say soon one more Goddamn time!

And soon. Did I say soon ? Well...soon.
775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Redemption ends[Updates&Discussion] on: March 21, 2015, 07:14:28 AM
hang on I already went through a bundle of steps to ensure all my keys etc were correct......now whats happening?

If you already verified them you don't need to verify them again.
Just don't come crying after launch Smiley
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NODE Revolution: "Money is a means of payment, not speculation" (с) on: March 20, 2015, 10:08:36 AM

is there any problem with blockchain? because i got 10 transactions that did not passed out..

Your transactions in the block 12104, peer which was to generate block failed block sent in the network, in the new version we will fix this bug

What peer was that and how can this happen?
Would be interesting because for example if it was my Raspberry PI B we would know that these don't do a good job. Or was it just because the peer lost the connection during generation?

It sounds like he's saying that the block the peer sent wasn't valid so prob a software issue not hardware.
If it in fact failed to send any block i guess another peer should takeover in that case (and the failing peer should be punished). Like it's in any POS system.

If i understand correctly, the newsletter will be published as soon as its ready.

Hopefully it will reveal ETA for the launch.

We have an ETA. It's march. If anything I'd expect the next announcement regarding launch to be an exact date or or nothing at all.
Not sure if such an announcement will be in the newsletter though.

bitcoin ded

If bitcoin dies, all crypto will die.

If bitcoin dies better cryptos finally get a chance because all of the bagholders that controll that industry will have to face the truth.
Then again...define "die". When is a crypto considered dead ? If no nodes are running ? If only 1 node is running ?
