Anything related to SilkRoad?
No ! As for what's planned, wait and see. We have bitcoins, the premine, a big community, a few outside people we already hired for full time support on different social/media parts, lot's of contacts and lots of ressources . We'll try to cover all the possible ways of marketing, and our devs -even if they are not very "social", that's why we hired people for twitter, facebook, reddit & co- are SEO experts so they know marketing and how to handle all the process, as long as we're able to invest and hire. As for the camel, when you think about the silk road (the real one, not the shady onion site which by the way came after ) don't you think about a camel ? And isn't this camel beautiful hehe? Ps : For those who only know the silkroad.onion here's the real silk road/route : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silk_Road Ps2 : And you would prefer it if we called it frogcoin hehe? We choose Silkcoin because it was a sharp and sexy unused coin name

Just an opinion...
Cut the second POW stage and limit the coin to 50 mill. Makes way more sense.
Impossible to do that now I think. The bad thing about 2 Pow stages is that you have a month of price increase (POS). After that, the multipools are going to dump again. (But that can also be an opportunity voor us to buy cheap) Even Blackcoin has 100 mil coins and the price is the same as cinni, which has 10x less. Max amount of coins doesn't always tell something about the price. If we keep up the good work and handle well marketing (starts tommorow, don't be surprised if there's been no one on social at the moment), the price will rise at the first POS phase, then as you say lower once the second POW starts (still be higher than the first) because of the dumps but yes this is a great opportunity for distribution. Once the last POS phase kicks in you'll see the high , coins will be better distributed because of the 2 phases + 2 dumps phases . My guess is 1st phase : lowest price, 2nd phase we get a big pump, 3rd phase the price goes back down a bit because of dumps from multipools and big miners- letting late comers come in silkcoin- and last phase, explosion .

All you guys who are saying wallet is fine, can you try to type help on console and see if you got a response? Receiving coins and staking is not only what wallet suppose to do, there are other features also which need to work properly as well. I sent my coins to another wallet but immediately wallet crashed and now i cant repair wallet at all, just worried i may lose a lot of coins because of wallet issue Well, I can receive and send coins, that's all I need but yes, whatever I type into console, it crashes and don't want to start until I delete that C:\ProgramData\boost_interprocess\xxxxx :/ Yes this is still the windows compilation problem, we slept for a few hours now we're all back to work. Reinstalling the whole environment is a bit long, and reinstalling it a few times is even longer but don't worry we'll stay on it until it's fixed! At the moment just try avoiding typing 'help' or a non existant command in debug. Another thing, are there some Mac users here who can confirm if this wallet is working or not? https://mega.co.nz/#!jBxxQIia!0-iWCCrURQfYQYi4Wtie1HC4YkzodKlcgwrx40ieh3M

lold again today ... was trying to send the coins i mined because wanna sell this xxx...
Guess what ... wallet crashed ... such utter fail ... almost respectable how consequent the wallet fails ...
oh my ... sorry but bwahahaha ^^
Fix is coming soon be patient please, in the meantime you don't even need to reboot now see OP : - If wallet crashes, relaunch it happens ONLY on first launch.
- If it doesn't work for you it means you triggered the rpc error by typing wrong commands in debug console (only on windows precompiled) you'll have to delete C:/ProgramData/boost_interprocess/XXXX before being able to relaunch the wallet. NO NEED TO REBOOT ANYMORE.

All marketing, give away, twitter, facebook, reddit & co starts on monday, for now the team is focused on solving the few issues with the wallet.
And yes 5 message per hour + post every 360 sec makes it hard to answer fast. As for your question yes we'll ask coinmarketcap as soon as the block explorer goes live in a few hours.
PS : that's why I often edit mesages instead of posting new ones here

Uploading a Mac Wallet now. OP Do you want me to PM you the link?
Great yes, thanks so much give me your SC address so we send you a bounty. Windows compile fix is coming soon.

;DThis is a huge scam.... This coin from China. They attack all other pool mining in the beginning. Access to large amounts of coins. Mining started a minute emission about 300 blocks. Only by Dev and his friends live..... The first block to hide a huge amount of. They raise prices, machine gun pool cooperation and no profit, ready to play with all buyers, let them buy and then profit and laugh at the fool in a high position......... We put all the monetary dumping for these sharks, do not buy, make their own entertainment, believe me. I know these people from Chinese, ha ha. This is not the first time, remember that they operate in panda....... They hired a large number of unemployed people against other currencies in the forum, to achieve their own purposes...
We're not from china (by the way we're seeking a chinese community manager, QQ and such). And if you were there at launch you would've seen the wallet at 2 blocks when openned because the pools kicked in after, NO ONE on the team has mined yet. We are currently working on fixing the wallet errors and good news it should be fixed real fast . By the way i love your message such inspiration!

No wonder it's that high, lots of people rented big fat rigs and yes it's sure there's a few asic alrealdy on it. And in a few days when the wallet will be perfect i don't think anyone will regret mining that coin . By the way, we almost solved the rpc error which is a compilation problem, at the moment at least you don't have to reboot your computer anymore if you trigger it, just delete C:/ProgramData/boost_interprocess/XXXX and wallet will relaunch again . And marketing begins on monday, until then twitter and such will be a bit quiet, we're already building a whole team.

Just to tell you all THANKS, we'll fix the bugs as soon as possible and the team will start to rise and get back in about 6 hours it was a very busy day and we still have a lot of work tomorrow good night to all. We are all full time so expect full support every day.
THANKS TO ALL and have silky night!
The Silkcoin team.

If you have a runtime error : We're working on it and 2 outside devs as well.
If everything goes well we'll get it fixed before tomorrow night, this only affects windows precompiled QT. Also, the whole team haven't slept for about 24 hours so expect a 6-8 hours pause in a few hours.
See the OP for the solution in the meantime and avoid using debug console, use daemon instead.

i think there is not yet any sell order, because there is not yet any confirmed coin!
exactly Yep even the premine isn't confirmed yet, no bounty has been sent etc.. We're really glad to already have 3 exchanges lots of people will soon be able to jump in by buying at low prices and easing the distribution. A big thanks to all of you from the team, it's great to see a community build itself that fast. Also for those who said we were premining the coin during the 20 min delay i hope you were happy to see 2 blocks when you openned the wallet since the team did not mine . We promise to do our best so this coin reaches highs never attained by any alts. We'll be on all sides with the premine, the BTC the whole team has put into this project (and yes there is quite a sum, we're already paying wages with it) and the great community we alrealdy have. Also a little secret : the dev team has already started working on a sort of ecosystem for silkcoin mixing coins with social... We'll get some announcement in about 2 months, at the moment it's still in the early stages so little specifications comes out, full POS and Satoshi's blockchain opens doors to a whole new world of possibilities..

Was the wallet build on a x32 system?
It was compiled on 64 bit windows. And the wallet crashing on first launch is not a big deal, what's a bit more annoying is when it crashes in the debug console and you have to restart... Our devs are also still looking at this and we have 2 outside devs on it.
|
|
|
Just a little update from the team :Everything seems to go smoother now, and it's not the pool's fault if the confirm it is set to 350 (blackcoin as an example is 500) and block time is 1 min so it may appear slow if you're used to 10 sec block times & such. Our devs are still working, as the community team is answering messages (the limit of 5 per hours makes the process a bit slow..) so if you still haven't got an answer from us don't worry it will be soon we answered to all the wallet error messages in priority. Be ready to buy all the dumped coins on the exchange because low prices won't stay long .

From the blackcoin thread : Downloads KNOWN BUG: if wallet does not start from first time, ignore error and try again
And the rpc error is triggered if : -you close solo miner before closing wallet -you type 'help' or a non existant command in debug console So it's not that hard to avoid just for today. If it's triggered you'll have to reboot your computer and this affects only windows and it will be solved before tomorrow night. No. It crashes as soon as it syncs. No commands need be entered and happens on a fresh boot. Your wallet is bad and you should feel bad Please post your debug.log we'll try to help you, if you reboot your computer and launch the wallet and it shows an error it's not normal.
