How about a lottery option? You put a lottery prize, say 0.001BTC and sell 100k tickets for .0000015BTC - .000002BTC. You can do something like this now but you are betting against other people. With the new option, you put up the prize and get people to bet against each other without you risking a loss. You can also add in a ticket threshold so the person who puts up the prize turns a profit. Only slightly different from what goes on now but it might be different enough to bring in more people or give current users a different way to gamble.
In this scheme operator must participate in games, which makes Peerbet no more peer-to-peer playing, but a gambling entity (that have legal risks).
763  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Instead of Prisons? on: July 07, 2013, 09:47:29 PM
Why are punishments almost always centered around revenge rather than restitution for the victims? maybe Jake needs mandatory employment working for the victim until he works off a suitable sum in proportion to the damages caused? In the case of murder, in many states they take the life of the murderer. Why not take that life and put it to constructive use rather than just ending life in revenge?
+1M
I would strongly vote for 3 variant (exile).

Giantdragon, hope you can help me

Can you help me locate the person that has access to ForeverAlone?

I might need to see if they can code me a bot, and if much success  will compensate them Cheesy
He used fake e-mail when registered on Peerbet. The only available option is to send him a private message on Peerbet.

766  Economy / Speculation / Re: Imminent fall ? on: July 05, 2013, 03:36:07 PM
Making decisions on the fondamental only cost me lot of money so far. Believing in technical analysis save me lot of money. So I m pragmatic  Grin
In long run only fundamental factors have sense. You just have to wait fair price and never sell below it.
767  Economy / Speculation / Re: Imminent fall ? on: July 05, 2013, 03:52:38 AM
Markets are irrational, therefore you should stop looking at charts and make decisions based only on the fundamentals (which are mostly positive last time).
768  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are gambling games with BTC legal? on: July 04, 2013, 04:31:14 PM
The more bitcoin goes into the mainstream, the less of "single developer dice/casino game sites" will be able to exist.
And more single developer/operator anonymous (TOR, abuse-resistant hosting) Bitcoin casinos Grin
769  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are gambling games with BTC legal? on: July 04, 2013, 03:24:26 PM
The main issue is if bitcoins can be qualified as 'money by other means'. To give a comparision: in Vegas, people are not playing with real cash, but with chips and these chips are regarded as money by other means, making it gambling.
Casino chips have real monetary value (from point of law they are IOUs issued by casino).

Bitcoin have not yet recognized as any type of property, therefore gambling with it is in grey area, which means that government may legislate acts at any moment and BTC casino owners will have to close their businesses or go underground.

The only +EV game I know is poker.
All poker rooms that I know charge rake, which makes the game -EV.
771  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are gambling games with BTC legal? on: July 03, 2013, 09:50:38 PM
Also Russia is not a good example as online gambling is heavily illegal over there.
Russia does not recognize virtual currency as money or even tangible asset, therefore running Bitcoin-only casino in Russia is the same as running non-commercial gambling site like pokerth.com (which is legal of course).
772  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are gambling games with BTC legal? on: July 03, 2013, 06:23:32 PM
So you're saying that if I host the website,let's say in Russia there is nothing non legal about it?even if it's a gambling game?
Virtual currencies in Russia are not considered as monetary asset at all (there was a court decision some time ago which denied to enforce WebMoney loan contract).

Unfortunately if you live in the U.S., govt still can attack on you, but as Bitcoin gambling still is in the grey area (not explicitly prohibited), "cease and desist" notification will be made at first IMHO.

(Details: https://peerbet.org/developers.php).
774  Economy / Gambling / Re: Some suggestions and implementations. on: July 03, 2013, 05:52:13 PM
1st idea - What about letting some costumers advertise their ads in Peerbet in the following way:

1) Advertiser pays some BTC, e.g. 1.1 BTC;

2) Advertiser promotes any kind of ad that needs some action (Pay per click/view/etc);

3) 1 BTC goes to raffle game (e.g. 10 to 20 participants) as a jackpot for that especific draw;

4) 0.1 BTC is the house's profit.

Advantages: advertiser gets revenue from his ads (peerbet's gamblers will click/visit/view ther ads); raffles will become +EV to play (jackpot added); the house keeps profiting the same way (or even better) it does now.

Disadvantages: It might get some hard work in order to program and implement something like that; track and keep records of everything; atract new advertisers (maybe some affiliation program should solve that issue).

More ideas yet to come...

What do you think about the 1st one?
This feature is not hard to implement, but during current bear Bitcoin market we just don't have enough advertisers and use third-party ad systems (Anonymous Ads, CoinURL, Operation Fabulous). I hope BTC/$ trend will reverse soon which must increase willingness to buy ads.

Great website!

User is the casino, and the casino is not the casino!

Sure this is not a "Casino" with poker, dicing, or anything like that, but it is more a USER RUN Casino.

Can you explain how you profit from this?
Traffic flow to the website allows me to display ads and creates value for the Peerbet brand/domain.

Any chance you could close #654410 please? Thank you.
Done!

777  Economy / Gambling / Re: Peerbet.org - Play without house edge! [BONUS FOR TRANSLATORS] on: July 01, 2013, 12:52:21 AM
Raffle #139 was removed and all tickets refunded after it's participant made a request, considering chances for this raffle to be ever complete too low.
