It’s digital encryptionhttp://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-national/tp-telangana/its-digital-encryption/article8208064.eceBitcoin is a virtual currency that is heavily dependent on digital encryption and can be traded for currency. Its value is largely determined by demand and supply.
Like most currencies of the world which are fiat currencies, Bitcoin’s value is not connected to anything in the real world. It had touched historic high of Rs. 76,000 in November, 2013, before falling steeply.
Currently, Bitcoin is trading at around Rs. 25,000.

Card frauds used bitcoins to trade moneyhttp://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/delhi/Card-frauds-used-bitcoins-to-trade-money/articleshow/50922983.cmsThe busting of an international syndicate of debit card cloners on Tuesday has unearthed the use of bitcoins to avoid detection. The money siphoned from ATM machines was converted into the cryptocurrency and distributed among the people involved in the crime.
Pankaj Bhardwaj, operations manager of a bitcoin trading firm in Pitampura, was arrested on Tuesday, thought the crime branch is still on the trail of the suspected kingpin, Sumair Sheikh, who is believed to be based in Dubai. Since the accused had access to crucial information related to the ATM cards, the cops also suspect a bank official's role in the racket.

My vote for continuing it. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) i am not sure if i just should pick up open loans or wait for requests. ill walk thru the list later to get out what is done
You can clean up the OP (remove loans which have been repaid) and then look at adding any additional requests that have been received.

It think it will take a long time till the bitcoin will really be stable at a point. The bitcoin has to get bigger if it wants be stable, I think it just a matter of time.
i personally think we won't see the price reach the point of decent stability as long as very early adopters still have tens of thousands of coins. i think as soon as we reach $1000 again that they will surely cash out some of their coins, but they will still have enough coins to make the markets crash if they so wish. Yes, but it isn't in their best interest to crash the market. If the market cap of bitcoin crosses a trillion dollars, the distribution would automatically become more widespread (early adopters would cash in at various stages).

Lead developer quits bitcoin saying it 'has failed'http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-news/Lead-developer-quits-bitcoin-saying-it-has-failed/articleshow/50602227.cmsBitcoin slid by 10% on Friday after one of its lead developers, Mike Hearn, said in a blogpost that he was ending his involvement with the cryptocurrency and selling all of his remaining holdings because it had "failed."
Hearn, one of five senior developers who has spent more than five years working on the web-based currency, said he would no longer be taking part in development.
"Despite knowing that bitcoin could fail all along, the now inescapable conclusion that it has failed still saddens me greatly," Hearn said in his post on blog-publishing platform Medium.

Higher prices fuel the return of bitcoin mininghttp://www.business-standard.com/article/international/higher-prices-fuel-the-return-of-bitcoin-mining-116010900644_1.html Bitcoin mining is looking a bit more attractive again. When the virtual currency's popularity was surging just a few years ago, almost anyone could set up a computer in their basement to mine bitcoins, a process needed to record transactions and ensure the propagation of the digital money, which exists as software. Miners who put their machines to work solving complex computational problems (and paying for the hardware and a higher electric bill) were rewarded with new bitcoins for their efforts. Some became paper millionaires as bitcoin's price jumped to a peak of $1,137 in 2013 from $13 in less than two years.
