761  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Good thing about your government? on: January 20, 2024, 11:38:33 PM
I love the concept of this thread, there is a proverb that says "A fruit does not fall far from its tree" relating this to the topic, it means even with the false news and lies or bad stories and records about our governments there are good did of the governments that we usually ignore and focus on the negativity.

Well, from my perspective my country's incumbent president and his regime are actually trying their best to help reduce the inflation the country but because of our shadowed knowledge on their activities we believe they ain't doing nothing. But one thing is certain my county needs to learn alot from other countries instead of others to learn from them.
762  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I dont trust world rulers how do we know they have nuclear? on: January 20, 2024, 11:25:27 PM
My question for you is how exactly do you want the government or a country to proof to you in particular that they have nuclear weapons. From history I believe you should read some stories or past events where nuclear weapons are use in other countries that either lead to war or some thing else.

One thing I will advise you if you feel everything is a lie just live your life out of the news and focus on other things than complain too much.

Fun fact: in every lie there is an atom of truth. Even if our politicians and governments are lying to use the truth is not far from it.
763  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: POWER OF CORRUPTION on: January 20, 2024, 10:12:22 PM
Corruption has been rooted in us for so long that it can't be reshaped now. Greed is the core root of corruption which equally means that we all have our inbuilt corruption that is quiet exposed as soon as we come in contact with the catalyst. and what are the catalyst of corruptions? there are so many e.g power, money etc so we can't concluded one catalyst as the cause of corruption in any country.
764  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor's 3rd-Party Support Portal was Hacked on: January 20, 2024, 09:28:28 PM
What now?
Nothing changes. Never enter your seed or send it to anyone, no matter who asks. Think before you do anything that might compromise you and your funds.

If someone has move from software wallet to a hardware like trezor I believe he/she most have know the pros and cons or does and don't of wallets. So from my perspective I don't want to believe that someone would fall for this simple trick of sending your passphrase to anyone. Even before you could finish setting up your trezor wallets passphrase there is a caution that says "do not give out your passphrase to anyone it's your private property." That should be enough warning except for the fact that it was targeted on users who might have been offline.
765  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 20, 2024, 03:19:30 PM
[Edited out]
"I'm not sure how low" , this is the problem with buying the dip. The confusion, the anxiety, the FOMO and all manner of unrest are what make me so uncomfortable with buying the dips. You could buy $42,000 and price drop further to $40,000 and further to $38,000 and even more. In this case, which is the real dip and when will it stop going down? This seem complicated for those of us trying to have a hang of this.
This is usually not a problem with buying the dips, from you perspective it seems difficult to dilute the whole concept but let's buttress; no matter the price fall of Bitcoin it's still an opportunity for you to accumulate more Bitcoin, If you bought the dips around 42k price and the continue falling to a 40k and then to 38k price it doesn't call for panic rather it's another opportunity to grab more bitcoin. instead of getting confused you should make use of all the dips whether a 40k dip or 38k dip you should buy more when it dips because sure the price will bounce back and when it does it now becomes a discount for you. instead of buying at a high price that's the essence of buying the dips. And this kind of issues are one of the major reasons why we are advised to aways be prepared for the two ways movement of the Bitcoin market, if it falls more because you're prepared you will seize the opportunity to buy more and when the price goes up you become more profitable.

From the concept of the thread which is buy the dip and hodl you should start understanding that the dips are not a problem rather an opportunity in the Bitcoin market.
766  Economy / Economics / Re: What class of an investor are you? on: January 20, 2024, 01:17:53 PM
Although I fall under the first class which is new investors but I disagree with the description because as a new investors most my investment aren't from the help or contribution of family and friends there all my efforts but from what you're tryna explain I know what you meant but you should have elaborated a little bit than summarize with the one line of family and friends contributing to your small business.

Additionally, I believe I'm also part of the ponzi scheme investor because prior to be knowledge in Bitcoin and the crypto space at large I usually think of making little investments that can hold for a few years and become so rich as the early investors in Bitcoin and I guess most of us here was driven by this motive too.
767  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 20, 2024, 12:07:50 PM
Having a skill is a very important but what's more important is knowledge how to use your skill for a good course. one could learn a skill and be the best that he can in his field yet wouldn't make a good profit or succeed in his area or skill because he lacks the basic knowledge. just Hawlet said above there are many attributes that contribute to ones success in any business and those attributes should be put in place first.

Although for me I have a skill that I'm striving to become more perfect in it that even the best of the best would have some things to learn from me. Right now, the world is in a stage where people what's freedom and that's exactly what I wanted from the onset so choose a skill that will never lead me to being employed by someone else rather I will have to employ others to work for me.

Additionally, one can live off the physical skill life with the internet though we still consider them as skills but they aren't physically remote jobs. like content creation, graphics design, software development etc this are skills too but are not like the physical skills that we acquire. One can hold onto them and live the best of live with them.
768  Economy / Economics / Re: Logic of life on: January 20, 2024, 02:44:36 AM
I have heard of many logics but this particular logic I haven't heard of before. So if the more knowledge I have the more money i will make is going to be possible what happened to my professors in university, because if it's measured by the knowledge or skill I suppose this calibers of human being are supposed to be the richest in the world right now. so what really happened that they are not the richest is it because they don't have luck or they haven't read enough so I guess this logic is not correct.

I believe your perspective of reasoning is based on where you are; maybe you were brought up in such a way that education (knowledge) is the primary key to money or success whereas they are more to that than just learning or having knowledge or skill because if you ever evaluate from the rich people you will know that sometimes luck applies, sometimes some people are born with silver spoon so they are fortunate enough to become more richer than every other person or that's an ancient logic that is not longer working now.
769  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2024 is lonely year, after marriage become even more lonely on: January 20, 2024, 02:22:48 AM
I have seen you lately complaining about your loneliness of unhappy life but I keep pondering to myself what exactly is wrong with you? Because I don't really understand why you keep discussing your personal life here know too well that the forum can't but only suggest to you different ways of copping with your life.

Buddy I will also suggest you go for therapy to get yourself out of whatever you think you're going through! Life is too short to waste them unhappy. Go get yourself back and be on your best of life.
770  Economy / Economics / Re: A person that is against the creation of CBDC. on: January 20, 2024, 01:58:45 AM
This another strategy for office attainment, trump has just discovered that most of the citizens are not really aware of the control they (government) have over their finances or life in general. So he just have to pose the CBDCs as the major threat that will take away the freedom of people whereas him and his colleagues are the real threat they (citizens) have. As soon as he gets to the office he will surely be the sponsor to central control of citizens to satisfy his selfish aim.

Even right now we are probably in the control system of the government and at least Bitcoin and it's decentralized system is the remedy for us. Some times I use to tell myself that Satoshi Nakamoto was one of the people who learnt that the government is in control of citizens lives that's why he decide to fight them anonymously with Bitcoin as decentralized currency.

That man will say anything to get his hands on the Oval Office again, and everyone who thinks that today they have financial freedom because there is no central bank digital currency is living in some fantasy world of their own. It is true that CBDC threatens privacy even more and that our money can easily be frozen, but all those who today have money in banks or perhaps keep it in so-called stablecoins are exposed to the risk of being prevented from disposing of their funds at any time.

The creation of digital currencies by central banks is only a logical move to modernize finance, given that everything is being digitized anyway. However, you should know that cash will not disappear overnight and that the transition period will probably last several tens of years, except in countries like China where people are not asked for anything anyway and have to agree to everything that is asked of them.
You summarized my point here. I don't have enough smerit that would have been my way of showing how I love the comment.

Peace°
771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain could change our future even in elections? on: January 20, 2024, 01:15:32 AM
One thing I can say about the idea of using Blockchain technology for elections is that it varies from one country to another. if electronic election is currently possible in your country well mine it's not even with the few attempts that seems to have succeed yet it's still manipulated.

With the rate of corruption in electoral process I believe it's very much good to use Blockchain technology as a means to achieve free and fair election that will produce the accurate result but there are still so many disadvantages attached to it that's why the idea can't really be bought for now.
772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My dream business succeeded on: January 20, 2024, 12:41:05 AM
Well congratulations madam I suppose! you must have put in alot of efforts in writing this kind of post but it's looks a kind of phishing because of the current rate of things in the country and the amount you mentioned above.

If we start by making an estimate of what must have been spent in that business of yours it's probably going to amount around 5-6 million if am not mistaking or less or more. From what I'm seeing in the image you uploaded the bar as you called it is way too expensive from my perspective and you must be missing some lines here. But at least congratulations once again.

For accepting Bitcoin as payment method based on how the country is right now I will suggest you stick to the fiat currency because this idea of yours will surely attract some kind of attention to you. Plus the fact that your dad holds public office in the state I guess you're putting yourself in a kind of danger. This is just a mere opinion it your decision, place the ball in your court.
773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Nakamoto remove the 21 million BTC limit? on: January 20, 2024, 12:17:50 AM
I wouldn't say it's not possible, Yeah because before JP Morgan made such statement he must have done some research and found the possibility rate to be high, so he wouldn't just say things for saying sake.

But IMO, I don't believe it's gonna ever happen because of the trust it have already gain and investors believe that in less than no time BTC will be so scarce that the ones that has been held already will now become so expensive then their profits will be so guaranteed. So if this 21 million feature of bitcoin is lost the value will drop hence investors will loss interest gradually everything that has been working well will now be like every other Altcoins. Which is a major reason it won't be possible.
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: January 19, 2024, 11:59:31 PM
Are there still people who ask this kind of question ? like don't you have Google in your devices? google is your friend and if what you read about him isn't enough you can go find him yourself and when you do so help me say hi!

I keep wondering why people still wants to know who Satoshi is when they have heard that he disappeared for over a decade now and yet governments can't find him. Is it just an individual that is supposed to know him? Well I don't really care to know him but since I'm using his invention I only got to appreciate his work than ask questions that don't have answers.
775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to spend BTC from an Electrum wallet with privacy? on: January 18, 2024, 11:47:54 PM
One thing I can tell you is convenience and privacy does not go together, you must choose one to follow. If you want privacy using Bitcoin as payment in a restaurant wouldn't work as expected because you have a lot of work to do before you can make a safe payment that can't be looked up. E.g Using mixers etc. and after mixing you will not have to move your coins back to the main wallet or the origin but a brand new wallet that will still require more expenses. So I will suggest you use other payment method for convenience than Bitcoin for $200 worth of food.

Privacy is expensive and takes alot of carefulness and time to get maximum privacy so you have to choose between privacy and convenience.

778  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A piece of advise to everyone. on: January 18, 2024, 03:11:32 PM
And please in addition to this, I will also like to advised our seniors or beginners that knows about a particular topic, have some corrections or questions to ask to also know how to ask the question, make a quote or corrections in a way that the original poster or some one that quoted about the topic should be able to understand not to reply a post in an aggressive or ill-mannered way that will leads to a dispute or unnecessary argument that might leads to a discussion that is of point with the original discussion or topic.
One thing that I have learnt and expect others to learn too is growing a thicker skin here in the forum. no matter the response of how ill mannered a response (comment) is I will never make a personal attack on the commenter.

humans are built differently and as such I wouldn't be expecting everyone to act the same or be of good manners. So whoever is bordered about the manners of comments should learn to move on and forget about this shits. one things is certain some of this senior colleagues will always throw stones at you but use them to build yourself instead of throwing it back at them.
779  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phemedrone Stealer targeting crypto wallets, do not click URL shorteners on: January 18, 2024, 02:14:37 PM
We've seen a lot of shortcut files recently, and I suggest not to click anything specially from unknown source as we might be the next victims and then this criminals draining our wallets.
This is a good warning to keep us at alert but my concern is even with the known shortcut files it hard to dictate the ones that are gonna contain this malware because I have seen alot of known shortcut files that are replaced with punnycodes shortcuts making it look almost exactly the same with the known shortcut files.

That's why we are advised to use airgapped devices for storing our crypto assets in order to be safe from all this malware attacks.
780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Instant Bitcoin on: January 18, 2024, 01:40:14 PM
Even with your smart approach of advertising another altcoin, I know and most of us here know that your surely shilling for some coin that you have refused to mention yet but actually waiting for some to request you to mention the particular coin.

We all know this strategies but I would love to say take such post to altcoin discussion.

Like the two to three coins mentioned above they both provide speed for payments but aren't safe as Bitcoin, so what do you prefer? Safety or speed? Centralized or decentralized (privacy).
