All you said is very relatable. You've taken the time to point out information that has been shared before, but this time it's less aggressive and more explanatory, making it more understandable for your targeted audience. At least you've shown that you've experienced all these things during your start on the forum and have provided a way to navigate the ups and downs for new members, helping them feel more welcome. What you appreciate the most is how you encouraged them to be themselves. This is one thing that many new members tend to neglect. Once you become natural in your words and share your thoughts and feelings, the next person reading will understand and relate to what you've shared. But when you try to mimic someone else, you start going off-topic.

Sitting down to watch Tottenham vs Chelsea. Expecting Tottenham to win but wouldn’t surprise me if Chelsea took a point, they’re a weird team. Lots of talented individuals but no cohesion, can Poch get them fired up for this game?
I don't think Tottenham will disappoint tonight as they want to at least stay top of the table so must win at Chelsea.

It is difficult to understand Chelsea's game when there are many talented players in it but solid cohesiveness is not there, Poch is still very stuck to guide his players.

A bit of writing now that Chelsea are conceding goals, this has been too easy for Tottenham. Grin
Actively watching the game. Tottenham leading with one goal.
Tottenham is always at the right position to strike into the net of Chelsea. Their performance is outstanding, always on the run to score more goals. Their players always at the top line. If Chelsa don't want to conceive more goals, then they should attack more effectively to stop the Spurs player from reaching the top line. W might see a different result this first half.
763  Other / Meta / Re: Request for a board of made-up stories on: November 06, 2023, 08:13:41 PM
Not a serious request but at least one thing I think is worth commenting on.

There are a lot of threads in the Bitcoin Discussion section that are probably made up, some simply by analyzing the OP's post history are proven false, and those that are not proven false due to lack of evidence at least smell made up. They are threads along the lines of "I convinced xxx to buy Bitcoin and today he is a millionaire" "Bitcoin has changed my life".

The latest installment of this saga is someone who claims to have sold his family's land, without their permission, to buy Bitcoin, and if we take into account that the Bitcoin was kept by him, he is confessing to a crime.

I don't think it's worth giving a separate board. There are other boards request that are more important. Since we have one for off-topic then this one is not really necessary. I think this situation or type of topics can be managed from now on by the moderators.

I sold our family land and used the money to invest on bitcoin.
...
My resolution to invest in bitcoin is final and there is nothing anybody can do about it.
Most of these threads are more or less crude attempts to get merit, which sometimes backfire on them.
This group of individuals has closed their minds to the idea that merit distribution is based on emotional attachments to posts, especially those related to Bitcoin and daily livelihood.

764  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Do you prefer to go solo or collabrative/patnership? on: November 06, 2023, 07:52:25 PM
I greet una my people. base on the way the countri done choke via d economic system wey our government done put us inside. Ah they see a lot of young people wey be say they they do things collaboratively. You go see house wey be say 4 persons they share rent they leave together. Weting they go just do nah to find money buy things like TV, AC, refrigerator and other house appliances and properties so that the house go make sense. Even sef for business you go see two people combine money start one large business.

Ah been they feel say nah most people like friends, relative or partners they mostly they do all these things. I con realize say this people sef nah different people wey be say they no even too know each other like that. but them just decide to collaborate. Other things i understand be say this people know say if nah only one person they do am the burden go heavy and money go finish kpata-kpata nah why they lock up collaborate.

If people collaborate like this e get somethings wey go they xup, things like.

1. Lack of privacy and at times peace of mind
2. Lack of trust after some period of time spent together
3. Jealousy or envyness based on one wey they do better than the other.
4. Fight for superiority and ownership of some things. e.t.c

Weting me i wan know now nah say which one they preferrable to they on your own or do something yourself (solo) or to collaborate or have a partnership with someone which one wey you think say go they better and go avoid you so many problems but if you they choose to make you consider your financial strength o if nah something wey you fit bear on your own.

Each person has to attempt to set goals in reasonable ways that are achievable,
This is very relatable JJG. The point of bitcoin is to not rely on others pattern of goals set. This is because each individual came into the Bitcoin Investment system at different time, the financial investment pace of each person is different, and the responsibility of each individual is not similar either. So, its preferable to set goals based on how one would be able to manage his/her investment. Long term goals It's a goal of many people on here, but there are mini goals like accumulating through DC, buying on dips and hold etc. that can help us to reach our main goal.

Bitcoin is on the rise now and this is an indication of bull market. And now that bitcoin is $34k to $35k those who want to buy and hodle, this is the best time to invest.
There is no point in investing in Bitcoin because the price is going up because we invest in Bitcoin for the long term.
I guess you're contradicting what Mate2337 is trying to say. He's trying to convey that there is no perfect or best time to buy Bitcoin, especially when you're using a DCA approach. When you're DCAing, you can buy Bitcoin at any price because there's still a belief that the price of Bitcoin will be higher than the current price, as long as you're holding it for the long term. There was a time when Bitcoin was at 23k, and everyone was hesitant to buy; now it's at 35k, which would have resulted in a profit of 12k if you had bought it then.

766  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Your take on buying an expensive phone like iPhone 15 on: November 05, 2023, 10:15:54 PM
So my take on having an expensive gadget like a phone!!
Why would anyone buy an iPhone 15 or any good phone, costing above 500k, solely to fit in or want to make everyone feel they are rich? The only time I could agree to buy such an expensive phone is when I want to use it for business or to create content that will give me money because of its high camera quality. Otherwise, I can't buy such costly phones. Some people buy these phones due to peer pressure because their other friends have them and they want to too. I would suggest that, if you do get one, utilize it to create content for social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram until you gather a significant audience and become eligible to earn from it.

I understand that some people enjoy luxurious items, which is perfectly fine if they can afford them with their hard-earned money. My concern is why some people go to great lengths to get these expensive phones solely for the sake of fitting in.
I don't see this topic as a valid one, bro. If you don't want to buy an expensive phone like that, then you should speak for yourself and stop speaking for everyone. You're not in their pocket, OP. So you don't know their net worth, and you should not be concerned about the money people spend on their personal items. What might have been more interesting to talk about would have been the disadvantages of spending on expensive gadgets when you don't have a sustainable business, or some other topics. At least that could be relatable but judging the iPhone 15 users is wrong. Since they have the money to buy an iPhone 15, then I believe they have the means to take good care of themselves, which is not a problem.
767  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Invest in Bitcoin When U No Dey Do Anything. on: November 05, 2023, 09:49:58 PM

768  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: High cost of commodities on: November 05, 2023, 09:30:02 PM
As we approach the festive season...prices of things have really gone up...from food items... clothing..even household items and there is less flow of cash
I was expecting you would say price of goods and services including essential commodities has gone higher instead of saying "it has gone high" Or have you be on a low rate exchange before this seasonal approach? 😆

What could be the actual cause?
Simple as inflation as a caused to hard economy basically rooting at enriching the riches the more while indirectly taking taxes from the masses through the hike of goods and services.

..will the average Nigerian survive it? Well we only hope for a better tomorrow

The word "hope on God" is as feeling less concerned and given up to proclaim your possessions as what you are capable of doing and the awkward moments of blank-folding your potentials.
There is absolutely no manna's descendants from heaven.
You don't indirectionally instigate settling for less.
So... Don't hope on God with no point actions taken as an individual.
The government doesn't care about you and that doesn't warrant you to lost confidence of yourself waiting on Gods judgement day.

Lol it might be a joke but your saying the truth. Once we come to this festive season e they be like say nah another thing. The thing wey they make me vex be say even if nah the same goods they store wey them done buy since they go still increase the price sell am . Nigerians nah opportunist if you give them chance or like say person no wise them go use catch cruise. Thank God say person done wise. Me ah done already buy weting i need for the festive period earlier since october so that ah go they laugh people wey they buy things during november- december. Funny say ah done even buy foul wey ah go chop for december train am till that time reach so that they no go tell me say foul nah N20,000

770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: November 05, 2023, 08:09:37 AM
i play slots hoping to win 'big win' or 'jackpot' but many times it don't hits and my balance get drained after betting many times in one slot machine. i play more bets hoping it already took my so much balance it will definitely going to hit this times, but it never happens, and my balance becomes "0".

so i am sharing some tips to avoid this type of losing streak or bad luck in slots.
here it starts:

1. always set a budget for playing slots and stick to it. do not chase losses or try to win back what you have lost by playing more.
2. if a slot machine does not hit in 7-10 spins, consider trying a different machine. this can help you avoid getting stuck on a losing streak and losing more money.
3. if you have been playing a slot machine for 50 spins and have not gotten any free spins or big wins, consider switching to a different machine.
this can help you avoid wasting money on a machine that is unlikely to pay out.
4. avoid playing slots from Pragmatic and Gamomat as they tend to have low payout percentages and are not as likely to result in big wins.
5. be careful when playing slots from Belatra and Spinomenal as they can be unpredictable and may not always pay out as expected.
6. if you do hit a big win, consider tipping any nearby players who may have been unlucky or busting. This can help spread good karma and keep the atmosphere positive.
7. avoid getting "slot psychosis" where you get stuck on one machine for too long. remember that slots are based on random chance and there is no guaranteed way to win.
so, take breaks, switch machines and remember to have fun!
8. first check the RTP (reward to player) and RTP should between 96%-100%
Number 2,4,5, and 6 is mostly correct. Especially 6. Whenever you make a big win and tip the workers or share some money to fellow gamblers there is this good spirit that comes with it. Givers never lack goes the saying. Anyway, one should not when to stop or continue gambling and should not be overwhelmed with the joy of that first wining. If there are other disciplined gamblers around him/her they will definitely advised to go home and not continue so that he can enjoy hi win happily.
771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 05, 2023, 07:52:55 AM
if Man United is able to get another win, they can beat Copenhagen, of course they still have hope because Galatasaray will definitely lose points against Bayern Munich at home, it will be very difficult because Bayern Munich is too strong an opponent for Galatasaray, so Man United still has a chance to continue in the next round, but this time this match is at home to Copenhagen. are we sure Man United can win? or does it just end in a draw?
TBH, I doubt Man United can win and from my predictions after winning at home with 1 score the next match will end in a draw or Copenhagen wins and if that really happens Man United loses this team will be at the bottom of group A which will be very embarrassing.

my advice would be to be more careful betting on the Copenhagen vs Man United match.
If your speculation is true actually Manchester United still have chance lead to next round but don't forget with Manchester United matches left they have one home and two away matches. After facing Copenhagen, Manchester United will face Galatasaray and if possibility next match United get three points and have 6 points still not secure yet if Galatasaray winning match over Manchester United because last match have strong opponent for United have to face Bayern Munich.

I think Manchester United is not dependent on other teams' results and is focused on achieving the remaining three winning matches left if want existing in Champion League and qualify to next round. What ever other teams result its not important if Manchester United can take maximum 9 pints current three matches left and will get 12 points for qualifying to next round.

Manchester United might be lucky to survive this round. If they will be able to win their next match or get a draw. Then it will be easy for them to qualify but they still depend on the win or loss of other teams in the group. My own opinion is for them to step up because it is obvious that if they are able to scale through this stage they might not be able to survive the next round.
772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 05, 2023, 07:20:17 AM

Today's match wasn't fine due to how they made the goal decision. I was under the impression that Arsenal either won or drew, and because of self-interest, VAR cheated Arsenal by making a fictitious ruling.

In the initial VAR check for a possible ball outside the line, they act as though they saw nothing. In the second VAR check for a potential foul on Gabriel, the third VAR check for a potential offside, and the entire official team allowed the goal to stand. However, I'd like to know why they didn't let the referee go check on his own?

The refereeing decision was the main talking point yesterday and it’s disingenuous to push it to the background. I have come to the realization that the Premier League officiating won’t change. It will get worse. It’s become a business now and the people that should call it out are all hiding behind microphones. Sometimes I don’t like talking about all these ref/VAR issue. What we are seeing now is Nothing. The shit show has been on for 10+ years at least and it won't stop.

There were so many error scenes from VAR during the game but they somehow managed to overlook them. I don’t know how the VAR officials missed Bruno elbow, how they did not review the foul on Gabriel Magalhaes, but went for an offside is absolute shock, it seems like it was a mission to make Arsenal lose.
Arsenal was really into the game. They were the better side if you ask me. Yes there are things they could have done better attacking wise. But defensively they were on point. I think Arsenal did not lose that game because they did not play well. They lost that game because they were robbed. Simple as ABC.
I won't be surprised to see another referee get demoted to the championship again. Yesterday at St James' Park, I witnessed the ridiculous use of the VAR system. It was glaringly evident that the English football system won't change. I received this message from a friend, and everything he shared with me below accurately reflects what happened in the goal against Arsenal.

PGMOL have responded following today’s controversial decisions at St James’ Park.

On Bruno Guimaraes elbow: “He's not used his arm as a weapon, it's not nice but no more than a yellow card.”

On the Newcastle goal: “The ball looks out but we can't possibly give it from that angle.”

On the push on Gabriel: “There's two hands on Gabriel's back but we can't be sure it's a push.”

On Gordon being offside: “There's no conclusive evidence whether Gordan is behind the ball, so stick with onfield decision.”
773  Economy / Economics / Re: Biting more than i can chew. How can i do better? on: November 05, 2023, 07:05:56 AM
You've said that you've grown to believe that as long as you've means to make money, you don't have to worry about spending and given that it's instilled to you at such a young age I assume, you're going to have a hard time being able to change the way you see money and your spending because the habit and mindset is too innate that a change would be difficult, you can probably do it in two days and then you're going to relapse to your old habits,
Yes, I said that. And I came to understand that change is constant. As my belief towards money has entirely changed. I now understand that if a person's experience doesn't change someone's view or perspective on things, then the experiences of others will.

I suggest that you talk this out with a financial expert that can help you in your spending and a psychologist to help you or guide you into rewiring how you think when it comes to money and removing the old habits and mindset that you want to change or remove. Self-help books can be helpful too.
You have made a valid point. Yesterday, I was with a friend, and we had a lot of discussion during which I shared some personal things with him. He related very well, and he gave me some advice on how he was able to break free from his own financial difficulties. It was helpful, but I will consider seeking advice from a financial advisor. Not because I want to change my perspective on money because i have already doen that, but because I want to learn how to make good financial plans and make effective use of money in business and in other aspects of life.
774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 05, 2023, 06:45:28 AM
Buying on the dip is a great way for you to have a chance to make a profit in the future. And in this situation, timing is needed, or you should know how to feel or when to buy and sell.
Perhaps if you are using DCA strategy I see no reason why we should focus on buying dip, I no that accumulating during dip is also one of the best time but with DCA strategy we don't need to wait for a dip to come before we could start investing on Bitcoin. However accumulating on dip is for mostly those that lump sum because they want to buy everything at a stretch so they consistently observed and watched the market to see if there is any dip for them to lump sum.

So I think it will be more better focusing on DCA strategy because if you plan on accumulating Bitcoin waiting for dip, you will have to wait tirelessly on the market and the possibility of the price dipping is not certain however making you to miss out the buying opportunities.

However your strategy of buying and selling if the price peak is a very wrong strategy because is more like a gambling strategy because the chances of making profits is very minute, so perhaps instead of chasing the Bitcoin price that could caused you emotional trauma or panicking seeing your investment going on a wrong direction perhaps you could save yourself those stress by only focusing on investing and holding.
The financial status of every individual is different. You can also continue your regular DCA and still buy on dips depending on your financial capability, but it shouldn't affect your DCA. There are times when you earn extra money apart from your monthly salary, and you still want to invest. You can wait for a dip and buy, this doesn't change the fact that you're DCAing consistently. The reason for DCAing is to accumulate Bitcoin regularly with low risk. If you have more to invest when the price dips, it's still advisable to buy, as long as you plan to hold it for the long term. This will help you accumulate your Bitcoin faster.

Many people adopt this method, and it has helped them build a good portfolio. So, there's no reason to say you see no point in buying on dips when you're DCAing, as long as the money used to buy on dips is not the money intended for your DCA. Buying on dips is probably a onetime thing, so it's not distracting.
775  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: To get bitcoin meetup go be bad idea? on: November 05, 2023, 06:27:02 AM
Privacy is something many people in our industry take very seriously. They respect the privacy of others and are reluctant to jeopardize their privacy. You've raised some valid points to consider, but I don't think it's acceptable. If we want to share knowledge, we can do so personally with the individuals we want to share it with, whether they are younger or older. This is because Bitcoin is not yet fully accepted as legal tender in Nigeria. The government has imposed various bans and increased taxes on traders. Bitcoin is still considered illegal in Nigeria, which is why gatherings involving Bitcoin are not permitted. Let's continue to play it safe and observe the development of Bitcoin in our country before implementing the actions you mentioned. I can gather a lot of information about any active member on the local board without meeting them in person. So, if it's about sharing knowledge with members here, there's no need to do it physically; it's already happening here, even right now.

OP you talk well o. Imagine say person go borrow money to invest in Bitcoin then e con loose omoh na double wahala o. One him no get money of him own and secondly him now go pay person wey e owe. And the way things go just choke am for neck that period because the person go they pressure am to pay back the money. I wonder weting they give that person mind to think say him go fit tell weting go be the price of Bitcoin. Normally them done talk am say make person no invest money wey e no wan loose for Bicoin and that borrowed money nah money wey person no go like loose. So e no they advisable at all unless say the person they assured say him no they hope for return of investment to use pay the person back maybe nah from money him they expect sooner. At least that one they understandable.

Today's game was indeed interesting to watch. Starting from the beginning of the first kick off down to the last. I saw the performance of Manchester United and how they were able to attain victory before the end of the game. Manchester City won their match with so many goals. Am not surprised by the game because Man city remains the champions, regardless of playing a big team or a small team they always have good performance and try to win their game.

Arsenal was unable to defeat Newcastle irrespective of their performance today. This is a big win for the Newcastle fans as they secured a win on their home.

779  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 04, 2023, 03:16:07 AM
I think it's too early to say or even conclude that Bitcoin will always increase, on the other hand it is a pretty good perspective in terms of more convincing ourselves of the accumulation of bitcoin that we are living, but on the other hand it will not always be like that, this is a market that in general will not always be in accordance with what we always expect and of course none other than that because of the risk opportunities that can suddenly befall us without warning.
Yeah that's true, is actually too early to predict what will become the price of bitcoin now because Nothing is certain in times of the price right now and even considering the halving that's yet to come so perhaps we shouldn't dwell more on knowing what the price of Bitcoin will be before the year will runs out.
Whether early or late, predicting the price of Bitcoin should not be taken as a priority. In my opinion what should be focused more on should be how to accumulate Bitcoin if we do not have enough to fulfill our quest before the next bull run. Look at how often Bitcoin price changes, it will be disappointing if the price eventually goes to the peak sooner and we do not have enough in our bag. Its really annoying when I see people claiming to be HODL but they cant get their eyes off the Bitcoin price, its literally the behavior of an investor who is dreaming of being a trader to me. Instead they should just gamble their fund rather be deceiving themselves.

Anyone who owns bitcoin may well have difficulties not watching the price, even if s/he is not trading.  Of course, if s/he is DCAing then there may be less reason to look at the price, but if s/he is buying on the dip, then there might be some desires to try to figure out how much of a dip is enough of a dip. .which surely can lead to more attempts to watch the price and some times might even contribute to more emotionalism than would be preferable in the investment.. so yeah sometimes some of these people might end up wanting to trade rather than to consistently accumulate, so there can sometimes be some confusion and even seemingly contradictory/emotional behaviors that might not get better with trying to figure out which way the BTC price might go and maybe lacking some confidence in what kind of plan the person has in terms of BTC accumulation.

JJG, your contribution is valuable. I'm still wondering, based on your explanation, why some people prefer to trade or use other strategies when they know that checking the price often can lead to emotionalism instead of DCA, even though it's a safer approach. You know what? I truly needed this advice. I'm already aware that many people who regularly check prices are traders. However, some individuals frequently monitor the prices, even if they don't trade. Do you think this is a price checking addiction, and could it be detrimental to their investments? What are your thoughts?

780  Bitcoin / Project Development / Webflow vs Framer - Which is more better for simple website? on: November 02, 2023, 12:51:07 AM
It's been over 3 to 4 years of experience in product design and web design. I became increasingly interested in technology and wanted to start building websites as soon as I had the opportunity to learn due to my deep interest in it. However, there were some limitations at the time. I had little knowledge of basic CSS and HTML and no knowledge at all of JavaScript until I discovered WordPress and learned it. This marked my introduction to no-code tools. Last year, I came across Webflow and started using it to build interactive websites for clients. I also learned Framer and began working with it.

I have delved deeply into learning Webflow, but I've heard many exciting stories about Framer, and I want to understand it better. I'm not sure if there are people in this forum who use no-code tools (perhaps this might be the first time for some individuals), but I would like to know which is more suitable and preferable for website building and what their limitations are.

Based on some of my findings, here are the results and my preferences:

1. Webflow has more integrations than Framer, making it more functional.
2. With Webflow, I can export codes to my GitHub and manage the code there.
3. Webflow has been around for a long time, with more sophisticated features and regular updates. Framer is relatively new, although it has an AI feature, which isn't unique to me.
4. I initially appreciated the UI of Framer because it was easy to use and more accessible when Webflow was less beginner friendly. However, changes were made to Webflow in the last few months, and it now looks way
more appealing to me than Framer.

I don't know of a no-code tool that suits me better than Webflow, it's the only real alternative for me. I would love to hear your opinions and suggestions. I can share some sites made with webflow and framer if a request is made for better comparison
