Op you did great by posting this thread, I just believe that in this life anyone that wants to grow needs to listen more than they talk, learn more than they teach and make sure that whatever thing they are doing in life needs to be well scrutinize as whether it is worth doing and what value can such thing add to their life. Coming to this forum really changed a lot of us as our reasoning and the direction we look at things are quite different from the way we see things outside this bitcointalk forum

763  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: November 26, 2023, 03:52:09 PM
Regarding the merit talk, the issue is that these forum members who complain about merit are not even putting in the work. This platform is an open space and actively contributing valuable information to it will definitely yield. The legendary members didn’t get to the top posting crap. So, if there’s any newbie reading this, just actively contribute valuable information that is actually yours and not stolen or spun. You’ll eventually get noticed and will be merited accordingly.

Generally, nothing is easy. There’s no aspect of life that doesn’t require work and patience. OP speaks about degree, career, etc, and we can see that these things we want in life is not gotten by wanting them or trying to claim that they are ours; we have to endure.

Success cannot be achieved on a platter of gold as it requires hard work and determination in other to get to the top or achieve positive results, most of us that are newbie just want to get merits with our low quality post which is not possible. Basically as a new be what we need do is to monitor the activities on the forum and sort for help on how to grow our accounts rather than sorting for merits. Most of this newbie that sort for merits most are just doing so that they can rank up and join a campaign and start earning that's all that matters to them, they don't want to contribute new ideas to the forum but rather they actually want to reap with little or no contribution to the forum
764  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Every successful innovation is a product of a sound mind and a positive mindset. on: November 13, 2023, 09:43:25 PM
Our mind is like a central processing unit ( CPU) of our body as we can't do anything positive if our mind is not in right order. The minds guides our behaviors on any activity we want to perform in life. We should know that giving our mind the right attention at all time should be our major priority since our mind acts as the Central processing unit of our body. Whenever we are doing anything in life it is very good that we check if we are in the right state of mind before performing anything.

Just like the forum, it requires concentration and giving the right knowledge towards a particular discussion. However, when we are in the right state of mind, we are able to make right decisions in life.

766  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Understanding basic trading terms and acronyms on: November 09, 2023, 06:20:18 PM
I think we the newbie here should be conversant with some trading terms here like CFDs, binance, indices, DIP and HODL and so one. I plead with some of our senior members here to create  threads that will educate us on this trading terms and acronyms and also the right techniques to follow in trading so that it will guide us during trading times. I know everything in life is about stages but it is important that we have a pre-knowledge of how trading works and how to follow the right concept.

As a beginner, I believe the best way of learning is to first observe how things are going before we seek knowledge on trading activities. As a newbie or a beginner it is not advisable to just rush into trading without knowing some trading ethics that should be followed in other not be misinformed, learning is a gradual process as you can't rush into knowing basic trading terms and acronyms when you are not familiar with the trading environment, so it ought to be one step at a time then from time to time you will start being conversant with the trading methods.
767  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Why do people think is a mistake to be Nigeria?? on: November 09, 2023, 05:52:08 PM
Everyone wishes to live a good life in a safe environment and a stabilize economy and a country that's experiencing economic growth. Despite the facilities that God has blessed is with in this country, only few are benefiting from them why the rest are left at their own faith. Insecurity challenges has also been a huge contributor why people wish they never came from Nigeria because inasmuch as life is concerned no body want to live or stay in an area where there is security threats, almost every path of the country is experiencing security challenges and where there is security breaches businesses and other social activities are very less in such region and no one will be happy to jeopardize their assets on a place that is experiencing security threats.

And moreover, everyday with one sad story and experience to another. Scammers and fraudsters everywhere, so you can see that all these experiences also affects the mentality of an individual, thereby leading to the high rate of people seeking for greener pasture abroad not that those countries doesn't experience security challenges but it's on the minimal as it doesn't occur oftenly and when it does the security agencies make sure they proffer solutions to the situation.

So we all seek for a good and healthy environment to live and business in so a situation where an citizen of a country is finding it difficult to experience all these things hence their regrets for becoming a citizen of such a country who can't guarantee their safety and security.
768  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin price speculation (BTC/NGN) on: November 09, 2023, 12:27:58 PM
I saw this news two days ago: Naira may appreciate to N600 against dollar – Tinubu’s aide Fasua

It was about one of the special advisers of our incumbent president. He said naira may strength further to exchange at ₦600 to $1 in the foreign exchange market.  Roll Eyes

Naira has depreciated in price a little after it went below ₦1000 to a dollar recently, now around ₦1128 in the parallel market as of today.

How will naira appreciates when things that continue to make it depreciate have not yet been tackled.

Some people may not know that there are other ways to hedge against inflation, some people always think dollar can help, not knowing dollar is also depreciating but not just depreciating fast like naira. Bitcoin is far better as a hedge against inflation.

Holding bitcoin now is better.
As naira is appreciating against dollar and the price of bitcoin as of now is $36,813.49 as at the time of writing this I believe that buying and Hodling bitcoin is surely the best because as naira is appreciating against the dollars it will be comfortable for us to buy bitcoins now using naira as no one know if the naira will keep strengthening against the dollars or it will reach the middle of the road and start depreciating again although Nigeria is making plans for new FX rules in optimism that the naira will reach a considerate price before the end of the year. Whichever way it is all we seek is for the price of goods and commodities to also fall to a favorable and sustainable price.
769  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Things wey person fit learn when HODLING Bitcoin on: November 09, 2023, 11:57:28 AM
OP thank you so much for all these guidelines you have outlined, at least it's gonna help me as a beginner when HODLING bitcoin. Every step you've outlined in this thread is very helpful as the only way we can become successful investors is by listening to measures that should be taking when one starts venturing into bitcoin practices. You do well.
770  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Pay attention to bear run without fear. on: November 09, 2023, 07:43:06 AM
Hope this decision I made to be investing #12k in BTC monthly is a good decision? I believe using bear run to invest is a good strategy many investors are using to win from their investment.
Well, investing #12K monthly isn't a bad idea though the amount should have been a little higher if you're earning up like #60,000 you would have invested #30,000 but my advise is that if you ain't earning above 40k I will just advise you to save your money for other stuffs because using the little you earn to buy bitcoin now with the belief that you gonna make profits during the bull run what if things doesn't work the way you thought can you be able to withstand it? If yes then you continue but every decision you're taking consider if things doesn't work the way you expected if you can be OK with it.

Nevertheless, life itself is risky and it's risky for one not to take risk in life as sometimes our risk lead us to achieving unexpected goals, so if you have a source of income, then keep buying and hodling bitcoin now till the bull run arrives
771  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Don't FOMO Gambling this Weekend on: November 08, 2023, 07:31:05 AM
It is important for us to learn how to do things that works for us rather than copying another person's lifestyle. Moreover, it's a celebrity we are talking about here so don't take because he is a celebrity, you now assume that he might have information before staking that huge amount of money. Never follow influential people as most of them live a fake lifestyle just to attract peoples attention. So it is advisable for us to know our boundaries don't get involved in other peoples business as what works for them may not necessarily work for you as well everyone has areas they are good at so concentrate on things you are good at rather than copying others and another thing again is contentment, be contented with your way of life don't live to impress anybody.
772  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naira hits highest level since September 20th, trade as high as N972 on Binance on: November 08, 2023, 07:08:48 AM
People wey dey earn dollar and Bitcoin dey feel bad as the Naira don dey gather morale against the dollar. This na true sha because for this we country, even though say dollar dey fall, you no go seem am make price of things come down. Wetin go up for Naija dey hardly come down, that na the problem.

If to say as dollar dey crash so e go affect things for market, we for dey happy... I don go buy things this week, the price still dare meaning say our people no get joy kpata kpata. I no know who we offend for this country self.... when will the ordinary people breath?

You've spoken well, our mentality in this country is really bad as soon as price of goods skyrocket in the market, if they like let naira reduce to the highest minimum they will still no reduce the price of things in the market. These practices of whatever thing that the price increases will not decrease again has also affected our currency because it will now look as if our currency doesn't have value again due to the high cost of goods and commodities in the market. Like for instance now that Naira gained advantage over the dollars has there been any change in the price of things? The straight answer is no. Even farmers that also produces things from their farms will practically increase his products with the mindset that if the prices of things in the market are been sold at a high price then how much more him as a farmer knowing too well that the products are being gotten from the farm.

Like seriously, Naira appreciating may not really bring solution to us as we need to sanitize our conscience because that's where the real corruption and evil practices is, we should also encourage ourselves on patronizing locally made products as it helps in building the economy of a country, whether it is to the best standards or not we should give values to things we produce and find ways by which they can meet up international standards so that they can be exported to foreign countries thereby boosting our economic growth and development. these practices I've said are the things that will make our currency gain value and be appreciated.
773  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Creating several topics while the already created has not been attended to on: November 08, 2023, 06:46:07 AM
Say I be moderator, admin, local board abi forum owner? Beside wetin dey enter my submission na more of replies and not topic as topics wey dey get better chance of been rewarded no dey too full here na mostly reply dem. If you see someone spamming cautious dem and report dem to moderators for deletions. If dem no tak advice, report dem for spam on those spam reporting thread for meta. No go dey red tagged anybody but you can give dem neutral tag although tags aren't meant for posting behaviors (even theymos discourage us from tagging people for their posting pattern) but when you see person wey no wan do the needful, you make am learn lesson so others will learn from his ignorance and behavior demselfs.

Make we no go dey put rules wey no dey forum for here and any rules wey una wan put wey no go in accordance with dat of the forum make una know say na una go enforce am and not looking up to me to do that. There's no rule against creating of more than one topic in 24-48hrs that I know of, you can create as many topic as you want provided they're of quality and when you see someone misusing the privilege, report dem to moderators and when moderators aren't doing their jobs perfectly It'll help us to get our own local board moderators which anybody dat theymos finds worthy (possibly based on their ratio of good reported posts on the local baord) will be made moderator to oversee the board. Make una no dey fear to report, talking no go solve anything. If you report one person to take corrections and him no gree, submit their names for spam threads and watch how others learn.

Legend, you have spoken well. In anything one is doing in this life we need each others back as one person alone can't do it on their own at all just as you said creating of more topics isn't the problem but let it be meaningful and has creativity in it. Though reporting ourselves to moderator may not actually be the solution except in a situation whereby you have been advised on several occasions and still keep doing it then the person can possibly be reported to moderator.

Nothing kills a forum like lack of cooperation and organization, like moderating oneself in a forum and keeping to the rules and regulations is what also gives a forum credit. I am made to understand that external bodies (non Nigerians) visits our local board to see how things are going so it will be very sad if our local board is being reported for inadequate activities here so I urge us all to practice things that will bring about good ideas that will elevate us rather than downgrade us.

It is necessary for us to know that some other countries ain't happy with the fact that we have our own local board where we can share thoughts and ideas among ourselves so we shouldn't be involved in anything that will jeopardize the efforts of people that solicited for us to have our own local board. If I am not mistaken, we Nigeria is the only African country that have our own local board so we ought to be proud of ourselves and be positive in our activities here.

Omor if I should have 1btc now hmmmm my people I will make judicious use of it very well like what I will do is to open a modern day luxury fashion hub as a fashionista and fashion designer that I'm and then a luxury boutique. That's what I will do if I'm opportune to have 1btc. Hmm my people e go loud o
775  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Invest in Bitcoin When U No Dey Do Anything. on: November 08, 2023, 05:49:41 AM
This doesn't only apply to anyone that wants to invest on bitcoin but rather anyone that wants to invest their money on anything at all. The mentality that most of us normally have when we are investing on any project is that we are going to make profits. Inasmuch as investment is concerned, our motives before investing our money is with the fact that we are going gain and not lose which is a very bad mentality. When investing on a project or a business we need to think about unforseen circumstances, like the obstacles that we may encounter in the course of making investments as these will make us have a frame of what to do when such circumstance arises and to make provision for alternative incase of such nature.

We all should know that in life, investment is very important as through this investments that we can possibly secure our future because the reason why we make investments is for it to stand as an aid for us in the future or to stand as a way of relief at old age when we will no longer have the zeal and strength to work.

Investing your money on bitcoin while you ain't doing anything is just like keeping your live at risk because all your attention and concerns will be geared towards the money you have invested and bitcoin though has started gaining popularity but no one can predict it's future as anything can happen though we ain't praying for bitcoin to crash but in anything we are doing in life we ought to think both the positive and the negative as it will stand as a guide when we don't get what we want or when things doesn't go the way we expected.

Okay let's take a look at the Mavrodi Mondia Moneybox ( MMM ), when MMM came and people began to see the success others were making from it and they developed interest and started making investments and everything was going well, what most people did was to borrow money, some sold their lands and houses even people that first benefited from MMM even took the money they got from the Ponzi Scheme and their personal savings and fired it to MMM. Now when the Ponzi Scheme crashed, a lot of people were in tears, some people haven't even recovered from the shock till now so no matter how promising any investment might seem to be, never channel all you energy to it as uncertain things are meant to happen in the future so we should invest with caution.
776  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is the devaluation of naira really the problem on: November 07, 2023, 05:19:15 AM
The most important problem we have in this country is our economy, had it been our economy is in a good shape no body will be lamenting too much in this country and lack of good and quality economic team is one of the major cause of this economic crisis. How can a government appoint ineligible and incompetent personnel to handle economic activities of a country.all they know is to emblezzle government funds then channel the blame to fire outbreak in finance offices, python swallowing money and so on. Isn't it ridiculous to say that python swallowed government money like I don't even know if this people have conscience at all.

See my own opinion is that we should just return back to Britain, let them rule us again so that we can be able to learn from them because for how long shall we continue to live in this disaster even when we've got all the resources to make us a great nation. A country that was once swimming in economic growth now is struggling in the international market. Isn't it shameful that we have someone as the director general of the world trade organization yet we ain't making any progress in our dear country.

Government that is suppose to serve in the interest of their citizens are now taking decisions on their own without considering the effects on the masses, all they know is embezzling government funds in the form of projects, awarding contracts to incompetent personnel. Not rendering good and quality service to the public, our schools, health centers are in dilapidated situation. No quality industries and factories that will aid the youths in gaining employment. The rate of unemployment is on the increase, so many jobless graduate on the streets. Tell me why people will not get involved in crime and fraudulent activities in other to eran a living.

Until we rise up and look for a solution to this lingering economic crisis, the better for us because if we still continue in this nature, then am afraid the rate of crimes will be on a high note. Instead of the country seeking for disintegration I rather prefer resource control, let all state manage their resources and give revenue to the federal government, let the states be autonomous as these will bring government and other benefits closer to the people

777  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 05, 2023, 09:43:27 AM
Buying on the dip is a great way for you to have a chance to make a profit in the future. And in this situation, timing is needed, or you should know how to feel or when to buy and sell.

As it stands now that bitcoin isn't DIPPING the only thing an investor needs to do is to buy and HODL, then apply the DCA method to automatically monitor the activities in the market then make investment at different intervals that a DIP happens, so as an investor it is advisable to keep buying bitcoins HODL it despite the price of stocks in market. so as soon as there is an increase in the price of stocks in the market he can now sell it at that material time. Though bitcoin being a volatile asset has the tendencies to fluctuate from time to time
778  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerians should learn to work for dollars in recent time on: November 05, 2023, 09:28:29 AM
Earning in dollars isn't the problem but what if you are earning in dollars then you want to purchase things in Nigeria and we know how costly things are now, so the higher you earn in dollars, the higher you also spend it in Naira.

Inasmuch as i encourage people to earn in dollars I also wish for measures that can help our currency gain value as the incessant devaluation of our currency are making it look as if we ain't earning enough because no matter how much you earn, the prices of goods and services are still very very high so it just look as if we ain't earning at all.
What I think the OP is trying to say is not that we should earn in dollar directly, but to earn abroad from Nigeria because the money those developed countries see as peanut money is high for us here to live a confirmable life, and I think the OP is not wrong at all but not put it exactly in the way people will understand better.

It isn't easy to get jobs that pays in dollars from Nigeria and considering that most of these foreigners sees Nigerians as fraudsters, sometimes it is difficult for them to trust us on online jobs that we can do in other to earn in dollars it is just very unfortunate that some internet scammers and fraudsters have succeeded in painting our name black to the international community thereby making it difficult for foreigners to earn our trust. Just wish we can rewrite that narrative of foreigners seeing Nigerians as fraudsters.

Aside bitcointalk, I'm a fashion stylist. Bitcointalk is a forum that is worth being and giving concentration to but however, in life one has to be skilled in different areas of life because of some uncertainty about the future so it is important that as we give attention and concentration to this forum we also ought to indulge ourselves in other things that can also aid us in life.

Bitcointalk has over the years improved our understanding about cryptocurrencies but however, learning a skill or a trade is also important as the future of bitcoin or any other coin can't be predicted because it's still very much young to the community and it's gonna take some whole lots of time before it's authenticity can be guaranteed
