761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Solo mining GTX 750Ti hash rate dropped - driving me mad on: April 14, 2016, 10:09:37 AM
Hoping the community can help with this one, before I throw the bloody rig out of the window Smiley

I got the thing working again after months and months of inactivity. There seems to be an influx of good coins these days so wanted to start mining again. After hacking about over a few evenings, I got my PC/rig hashing away on Argentum at about 235kh/s on the one GTX 750Ti. And was quite happy with that as a starting point.

Then tuned the card a little after a day or so of finding no blocks (no surprise) and got 248kh/s and all was well. Then the fun started.

Got a spurious Windows Firewall message (no screen prints, as I clicked it away) which is bizarre as I use Norton 360 so of course Windows Firewall reported that Norton was handling inbound/outbound. My wallets and ccminer application were already allowed through the Norton firewall (as I said, it was mining happily, I think). As I say, I clicked away this message and then from there, I wasn't able to get Argentum's client to start up properly. It would start and sit in the task bar, but no actual screen would appear.

Played with the Norton Firewall. No change. Uninstalled Norton, switched off the Windows Firewall which had now become active, reinstalled Norton. No change. But worse now, when I try to mine RELC, my hash rate is a miserable 28kh/s, and it's driving me up the bloody wall.

I think the issue is perhaps something to do with:

a) I went into clean-up mode when the first issue started, and I removed Visual C++ libraries from the PC, which were then requested by the PC when I tried to startup my MSI Afterburner software for controlling GPU fan speed and so on. So I reinstalled these via a (downloaded) installation package for the card drivers from what I thought was the correct source for the card. Now MSI starts up ok, but the hash rate is that miserable 28kh/s. Plus the screen response seems slow. It's for that reason I wonder whether the issue is:

b) Card drivers, related to the fact that my OS is Windows 10 - upgraded from Win 7 previously which is when the card was actually installed (ie, Windows 10 wasn't a fresh install). I wonder whether I've impacted the card drivers in some other way during the clean-up and need to find the correct install for the card on Win 10 in order to return it to full health?

The PC otherwise works fine, responds ok and starts up and behaves as I'd suspect. It's just the hashing rate which has tumbled. I cannot comment on the gaming as I've got an XBox One for that side of things. The GTX was purely for mining. I was on the brink of ordering some bits and bobs to build a milk crate-based rig, just for the fun of it, but I need to get this issue resolved first in order to learn.

Anybody got any pointers please? Cheers all.
762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [RELC] RelCoin - In-app token for RELNUZ - development underway! on: April 14, 2016, 07:33:06 AM
Apologies but we're going to delay the RELC launch somewhat, again. This was a premeditated decision.

We had planned to launch RELC in the first half of April but have decided to push it back at least another two weeks: the Relnuz beta app should be hitting Google Play and the Apple App Store in the next two weeks, and I didn't feel I could properly support both software launches at the same time.

Once the Relnuz app is confirmed working properly in both stores, with no emergency fixes, we'll begin some promo and focus group testing with that, which frees me up (because I'm not the one doing it!) to finalize the RELC launch and be at attention to make sure it goes smoothly.

If you've been waiting, thank you for your patience, and feel free to play around with the beta Relnuz app while you wait for the launch of the Relcoin cryptocurrency which it backs.

Not too disappointed to read this since my miner has shit itself in the past couple of days and I've gotta figure out what the issue is before I can start mining again Smiley So the delay is welcome (for me anyway).
763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNF] Unfed Currency | New Exchanges | ROADMAP | Website + Shop | Join Us | on: April 10, 2016, 07:22:33 AM
So after a few days of hacking about, I got my solo mining working on UNF. Not terribly fast at the moment, just using the one 750 Ti currently whilst I rebuild the old rig. Trying to remember how one does all this stuff because it's been a while Smiley Presumably I look for the 'accepted' in the log when I find a block as not found anything as yet (Edit - the point being, if the difficulty is high now for solo, that's the reason why I've not found anything after a little over a day).

Scrap the above, can't get the wallet to connect to the network, probably doing something wrong (it's getting late Smiley)
767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: (ANN) (IMS) Independent Money System (ANN) (IMS) (Bounty's) on: April 06, 2016, 11:47:51 AM
I may try setting up solo mining for this one later today, seems to have some traction.

Given the absence of any trading for BXBC, I don't see how anybody could have lost out beyond perhaps some power usage...?

So basically this one is one great cock-up all round then...  Sad

This sounds reasonable to me. Personally, having just lost a load of Doge since Cryptsy when tits-up, I just want to mine a coin from the outset and then sit on it and/or use it as the community intends or dictates. RELC seems to match that, so my timing is pretty good (for once) Smiley

I've been out of altcoins for a while but just getting back into it, and this one sounds interesting, so will be watching Smiley

775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cudaminer configuration for mining Ultracoin on: September 01, 2014, 01:29:25 PM
Figured this out...copied here for posterity. Basically have to remove the -l auto and specify an actual config such as Tx5, based on the memory and hash capabilities of the card. Do a search for cudaminer config.
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Cudaminer configuration for mining Ultracoin on: August 30, 2014, 07:30:42 AM
Hi all,

Moved from the help forum...

Been trying to get my cudaminer config for my GTX 750ti working and failing miserably...I am now at a stage where it 'works' solo mining at least, at around 80 to 90kh/s but doesn't find anything. Just sits there refreshing the hash rates.

And on a pool, I get constant failures - can connect now at least which initially proved a challenge (even though other pools for other coins have been easy) but get constant booooo's Sad

Here's an example pool config, username and password masked.

cudaminer.exe -a scrypt:2048 -d 0 -o stratum+tcp://stratum.ultracoins.info:3333 -u XXXX -p XXXX -i 0 -l T10x5 -C 1 -H 2

Anybody got the slightest idea what I am doing wrong please? I've played with the T10x5 a little and at least got the card stable, although being honest I'm something of a newbie and not completely clear on what these settings do. Can somebody please enlighten me?

Edit - Just had a boooo on solo mining, too  Sad Oh and I'm also using the later version of cudaminer (ie, revised for Ultracoin).

Cheers all.
