761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Break away from gambling. on: February 10, 2020, 08:04:42 PM
Honestly, let them be like that and just don't mind them.
I do agree because there are people who have lost a lot in gambling and they just feel like they should suggest others to not repeat the same, this I believe is the reason for so many stop gambling threads.

The pointers, suggestions, advice that everyone creates here to "stop gambling" is useless to them. Gamblers will not stop until they didn't experience their "worst" losing experience in their gambling journey. Much better to advise them on how to deal with gambling and give them tips, instead of stopping them. They are the only ones who can decide when to stop.
But then there are people who are new to gambling and if they somehow read 1 of these "stop gambling" thread at least they would be more conscious about gambling and more controlled. I often talk to my gambler friends and they tell me that if at starting you know how dangerous a simple gambling habit can be, you will be much more controlled and easier to get out of it.

Quote
I already lost several times by doing gambling but still here putting up bets. Of course, there are also winnings on the way. Self-disciplined is the key.
Same here too and I never felt like I am loosing too much.
762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 most hilarious ICOs ever on: February 10, 2020, 07:16:18 PM
Doge coin doesn't seem like a really "hilarious" ICO anymore because they did first started with funny purposes but than it became a prominent currency itself, looking at it now they are seriously loved and used by the community.

However, fitvitalik is really hilarious, its one of the most clever ways I have seen people mock another person and they even collected 33.5 ethereum which is over 7 thousand dollars right now, let alone back in the day. All of them really looks insanely funny but the useless one wins it for me honestly Cheesy.
763  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | Crypto Powered Sportsbook and Casino | 🎰 🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 🎲 on: February 10, 2020, 06:36:07 PM
Ouch, Stake is down for maintenance. How long its been down for maintenance and how long it will be back online? It must be an unscheduled maintenance because I do not find early announcement here in this thread but I did not check the forum and telegram or twitter. Hope it will be back soon.
It looks like good to me they are up and running right now.
I think it might have just been your connection since they doesn't have any announcement for a maintenance.
And they would surely post it here if they ever had an emergency maintenance on their platform.

Indeed it is running as usual now but It was not my connection problem, I'm quite sure it was down for maintenance. If it was my connection then I would not get a notification like "Stake is down for maintenance, will be back soon"
It seems it was down for adding the new feature "self-exclusion" and "cooling off period" as what informed through email some time ago.
These type of maintenance downs usually do not take too much time, if you try it again and again for 10 minutes you usually will get to see it is working properly after a while. However, it would be great if there was a notification before it happens and an update log of what has changed with the new one would be lovely, normally this is not done by the website industry for some reason whenever they make a change, whereas gaming industry literally made this the norm, whenever a game gets a new update you see them both notifying the gamblers beforehand on the upcoming update but also after the update they share an update log of what has changed as well. I cannot really blame stake for not doing it like that because that is the way web industry just is and has always been.
764  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Newbie Traders Lose money? | Risk Management Basics on: February 10, 2020, 03:59:23 PM
Newbie traders lose their capital due to the obvious reason of lack of experience in both technical analysis and fund management capabilities. I believe risk management is just a part of fund managements as when you are able to protect your capital from unexpected losses then you may get chances to minimize your risks in greater levels.

Learning and continuous learning will be the possible way for newbie traders to turn as a profitable traders and then professional traders. It will not be possible in months but it will take up to year of time. Until seeing consistent profits, traders must use least capital. That capital is not for generating profits but for the purpose of learning the basics of trading.
765  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trade Managers on: February 10, 2020, 03:24:32 PM
It seems OP is a lazy person and wants some to take care of his trading capital. I am not sure how much it will be possible or it is already happening in crypto trading. Because believing someone else for multiplying our capital is not a good idea in basic sense as no one would care for our money like we do.

I have seen some advertisements in my local newspapers like "invest in our forex trading and get flat 5% of your capital every month". I guess OP may try like that instead of looking for someone out of this community. I guess even such offers also will not work for the same reason of handling some other's money. Trading on our own by generating signal on own research alone will work perfectly even it will be having some hitch-cups in the beginning days.
766  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We are finally going to $22k on: February 10, 2020, 02:07:39 PM
We almost reached $20k at the height of bitcoin in 2017. So for sure, $22k is doable in the future, all we need is more people joining the crypto sphere either as investors or just used it as store of value and we are off in the future.

And what could be the trigger here, it could be very reasons, but I think investors are putting their faith on the next block halving in May, we might see like $12k-$15k prior to the halving, and next it will go to $20k at the end of the year again. It will be very exciting again this year for all of us, so simply have the patience.
Not because of $20 was achieved, hence we may assume $22k will be possible. I mean to say we need to consider the circulating supply of bitcoin then and in future for the same price levels of $20k and then $22k levels. Circulating supply must be a biggest factor in deciding marketcap of an asset and people are predicting price levels of an asset by marketcap too.

I am not saying $22k will not be possible. It is highly possible. If $22k will appear by 2021 then we can easily say bitcoin market will reach $40k or even $50k also on one rally. But, it $22k will be happening around the times of halving then possible pull back may happen as whales are known for dumping when people are highly anticipating big bumps to happen.
767  Economy / Economics / Re: Justin Sun gifted Warren Buffett bitcoin and tron on: February 10, 2020, 08:32:45 AM
How could buffet reject if anyone gifts him bitcoins? Warren buffet is one of the most successful entrepreneur and these successful people have their own kind of strategies which keeps them making wealthier.

Bitcoins are actually a perfect gift we could gift anyone. Gift is meant to be something which would be loved by the person and also anything which can be beneficial for the person receiving the gift. Warren buffet is already one of the most richest guy in the world so what gift could actually impress him? Justin Sun might have thought on this for a long time before he could conclude on gifting buffet with bitcoins and tron.
768  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Investment on: February 10, 2020, 06:55:44 AM
As long as an investment is legit and profitable at most, then it’s good. Before investing money in Bitcoin people need to have good information about it. Information that you need to have is mainly on the risk and how you can manage it. There are people who invest in Bitcoin without being aware of this and when they start losing they come to a conclusion that Bitcoin is a scam lol.

So, anyone that wants to trade cryptocurrency should be equipped with good information about it. I had a similar experience as a newbie because I started without know that it is volatile, thought it was a payment method till I started losing some money.
769  Economy / Economics / Re: INFLATION IN THE UNDERDEVELOPED COUNTRIES on: February 10, 2020, 06:16:05 AM
Imagine that a country has oil and when they mine it they sell to other countries because they have no refineries. That means they will have to buy back the processed product such as fuel, kerosene and others from those same countries. How will such a grow? Lol. These are the kind of things that they need to be looking into, and others as well. Some of them have plenty good resources that they are yet to tap into and that’s causing them to fail.

But, if they should discover these resources and look into them, it’s going to help them go a long way in the development of their country.
770  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When bitcoin price is low, any slight movement is more profitable. Here is why. on: February 09, 2020, 03:41:24 PM
Suppose bitcoin price is $10.000 and it increases by just $200 to reach $10.200 during a day. This is 2% profit (excluding fees). In other words, it is $2 profit with $100 investment.
Look when price is $10k and it goes up by $200 that means the change for the day is +2% which means a small swing in price.

Now Suppose bitcoin is $4.000 and it goes up by the same $200 and reaches $4.200. This is 5% profit! (excluding fees). In other words, it is $5 profit with $100 investment.
Now let's consider both cases and you will actually notice that in case the $200 swing happens in the negative way then you will have bigger loss too. I really laughed when I first read this post but then I stopped by and thought of explaining this to you. In simple words, you cannot say if price of bitcoin is $1 and it swings $200 you make 2000% profit .. you have to be realistic because lower the price of asset lower will be the swing.
771  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE.me - Crypto Casino 🎰 Now Accepting EOS | Roll Hunt | Bonuses on: February 09, 2020, 03:31:22 AM
There are different type of gamblers, I personally love to play on sportsbooks for example because it gives me a reason to watch the games as well, I do not understand them very well but whenever I get the chance to watch a game and root for a team that I normally have no attachment at all, I get the opportunity to have more fun out of a match.

Yet my wife for example LOVES slots, I don't really get why because it looks mundane and boring but she literally either plays for money or if not she plays those fake money iphone app slot games for nothing and can do that literally 10 hours without getting bored. So, there are different kind of gamblers and there is a whole market for slots, people just like it for a reason which we may never understand but can't deny they are out there.
772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done for you? on: February 07, 2020, 05:10:09 PM
Bitcoin has turned me into a grade one dosser. I was one already but now it has well and truly upped the ante to the extent that there's no going back now.
I am sorry if I misunderstood your sentiment there but seems like you are upset with the entry of bitcoin in your life, for me a dosser is someone who is suffering for a money crisis.

I mean, please can you share why it happened such for you? I can see you make some money by wearing signature so at least bitcoin or bitcointalk community is actually helping you at least. I guess the gambling part of bitcoin might have the worst of you mate, I really wish you could share more in your post. I really wanted to know.

To me, bitcoin has only done more good than bad and I really appreciate whatever it has done so far to me.
773  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the best way of selling small amount of bitcoin to tether? on: February 07, 2020, 03:17:33 PM
Why would you look for an exchange which you could use to revive and send USDT without signing up?

I hope you are aware about the risk that you can lose your funds if you use any platform which might offer you benefits to send and receive tether without signing up because a normal cookie erasing might make you lose the wallet forever if you didn't secure the backup phrase, etc. Also, as far as I know there are a lot of platforms where you can convert bitcoins into tether but as you mentioned that you want to convert a small amount and hence we do need to consider the fees which would be required to generate the transaction.

Best advice for you could be to simply create a thread in "currency exchange" section mentioning your need and choose a trusted partner who can send you tether for bitcoins. You can't convert bitcoins into tether more easily than this way.

There is a problem with the "leveling" system for now, I have personally tried to wager as much as I can (with all money I have but it was just around 0.0002) and I didn't moved a single bit up. I have been an user for over 5 years now so I am already pretty high up but whenever I gamble it no longer goes further up, I don't know if there is a leveling down but if there is one, by the looks of it I will be leveling down very soon because of it as well.

I hope they fix it or at least let us know what is required to level up but honestly all we know is buying tickets to lottery or gambling on dice should increase it and so far it hasn't increased mine at all, if we are required to do anything else or maybe it doesn't go up with each bet but only after a threshold, that could solve it.
775  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3 smart ways to bet on the upcoming bitcoin halvening with options on: February 06, 2020, 08:33:25 PM
I think the problem is not in the emotions anymore, the problem will be in the profit plan in the future.  Some people often have a trade habit without a plan, so that when the cows gradually disappear and the price goes down, they decide to sell.  This is one of the most misguided steps and from now on you need to set a clear profit-taking plan.  For example, you have 10 bitcoins.  so okey, you would set a goal that if bitcoin increased to $ 11k, you would sell 2 bitcoins;  If the price of bitcoin rises to $ 12k, you will sell 2 more bitcoins, etc. This is the best way for you to manage risks and profits, because when the price drops quickly, you still have profit.

Absolutely agree. Nothing will come of it if you wait for superprofits and hope that you exit the market at the best price. This never happens. As a rule, people lose their money due to greed. You need to have a clear plan and follow it, and not wait for superprofits.

But we can't deny also that more people become rich because of greed and equality.
If you are buying hundreds of Bitcoins today it doesn't mean that you are greedy enough in preparation for the upcoming halving. Yes, it might look like that but it is their way/strategy to generate more profits once the market is in the bullish. We can't hold them back and told them that is was a fool because just like them, we are also wanting to make money as well.
That's why crypto investors are often said to be panic-sellers because we as investors have too big of expectations on the price of bitcoins. I mean, there is often a case where you ask crypto investors and they will say we only managed a 10% profit, while it's so easy to say for them in real world you would struggle to make a 5% return on investment.

This is where I feel that despite being the biggest investing opportunity the cryptos .. we as investors are still very immature in dealing with the small hiccups and sharp downfalls. I am not expecting halving to bring massive price swings but I at least expect the market price to go up only.
776  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bull and bear market. on: February 06, 2020, 07:47:20 PM
It's possible to make profits and also lose out in any of the two periods in the market, the bull market is what every trader wants, but the market is not always bullish, so it's up to you to learn how to make profits in a bear market, since it's very possible to do so too. As a trader you cannot keep waiting for either of the two periods in which you feel you are likely to make more money, you must be able to utilize the both of them to your advantage, and the only way to do so is to learn how to trade in both a bull or bear market.
Actually during a bull market everyone is happy as the price goes up and if even you buy bitcoins/cryptos at current price the price will go up during the bull market so it's easier for everyone to make profits.

During a bearish market, the basic formula is to make sure to buy the bitcoins when the bear market is about to reach its sunset value, basically consider a parabola when there is a rise I call it as sunrise and that is the best time to sell bitcoins and as parabola ends the market is best time to buy bitcoins.

You just have to find the peak values and play around it.
777  Economy / Marketplace / Re: According to CMC, in 2019 crypto cap has tripled, and daily volumes passed $70B. on: February 06, 2020, 04:39:15 PM
Crypto-currency seems to be getting more exposure than the previous years, many people now are much aware of crypto-currency unlike before. The only thing about the crypro-market even though that it has tripled is the continuous fall in prices of many altcoins.
Those falls are not constant if the coin you are trading on isn't a shit coin. There have been dumps in the markets but the markets have surely grown again to show us a good price. This is what have made the total market cap triple itself from the initial number.

I am sure that the number might have grown to some more extend because OP launched this thread few months back and in these few months a lot of coins have started recovering which might surely bring a lot of more people towards cryptocurrencies. The demand for such crypto coins would be much more high in the coming future because there would be a number of platforms which would work for the betterment of the mankind linked with the blockchain technology.
778  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♨️🎲 WINDICE.io 🎲 0.2 BTC Wagering Contest 🔰 Progressive Faucet💰 Jackpots 🎁❤ on: February 05, 2020, 07:53:46 PM
This black-mamba-challenge link directs to a forum of windice? Oh Jesus, not this thing again!
We had literally the same thing at primedice and stake back in the day when they decided they don't want to care about bitcointalk and tried to get people to their own forum for some weird reason, why does these casinos want to have their own forum all the god damn time, you can use this forum as your own and write these things here as well.

Now, they are doing "challenge" which literally what primedice did back in the day as well, and we need to "partner up" but that is not enough, both of those people have to register to windice forum and should be writing there as they are partners and contribute to their forum that way as well. Not only they are getting worse, they are also copying other websites on the bad parts of their websites as well. Hopefully they will figure things out and come back to good ways they used to run or this place will eventually get less and less people.

You're right!!! In fact to my comment made earlier about not having many people signed up for the challenge this might be the exact reason. People like familiarity and don't want to sign up every time to everything and hosting it in their own forum just makes it less accessible.

There’s nothing wrong with this strategy as many gambling sites prefer to build their own forums, as that helps in increasing their traffic base and even coming on google’s front page for various search results. Also marketing techniques remain the same in this industry so if PD has done it before it doesn’t mean Windice can’t do it again, and only after trying multiple strategies will they be able to finalise what works best for them.
I am not saying they should not do it because others did it, I am saying they should not do it because they already have a forum they keep posting and moving on from that to another forum just because it is theirs and makes no sense to me. I hate all the casinos that open their own forums, there is literally NO reason to do that at all aside from basically taking customers from a decentralized place where people can write whatever they want and move them to a centralized place where they can be monitored easier.

It is really not that complicated to realize that windice wants the same thing other casinos wanted in this. I hope it fails spectacularly so that eventually nobody would be "forced" to do anything they don't want to do and be capable of attending these things here as well.
779  Economy / Economics / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON CHINA ECONOMY on: February 04, 2020, 06:06:06 PM
I don’t know that for sure. Before the start of this year the predictions were that the increase of Bitcoin will come from the halving. And those predictions have been made before the Corona virus outbreak. During the outbreak some people started saying that there is going to be a fall in the Bitcoin price due to the Corona virus and that never happened, instead the price of Bitcoin kept going up and then they started saying the situation will make the price of Bitcoin to increase lol.

People are seriously confused. I would say that this has nothing to do with Bitcoin, the only thing I think is causing her price to go up is due to the Halving that’s approaching.
780  Economy / Economics / Re: New York City Stores Must Accept Cash Council Says on: February 04, 2020, 04:03:43 PM
It is said that usually credit cards are being hacked, maybe that is the reason.

Though this would be hard for some since people usually do not want to bring any cash with them so they can travel without worrying with it. It might be the case but they need to follow this new law. It is not that they are not open to new technologies but there is a problem at hand.
It does not matter what any individual thinks or feels reliable but once the government applies any laws and regulations, each citizen have to follow those or they might even need to pay for violating these laws.

Cash transactions are the easiest ones but I feel like those are a lot outdated. There have been such advanced means of payments and why are we yet using cash payments everywhere? Perhaps this might be good in parts of countries where population is in excess amount as there would be a need of quick payments in these situations and I guess New York comes under the same. This might be the reason why government made cash compulsory in these parts of nation.
