761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soon will become a boring investment? on: July 08, 2020, 08:57:23 AM
With no more coins to mine and miners working for fees while investors staking for profit, bitcoin is sure to get more boring. The developers can bring in some twist but there would be no drastic change in it's nature. The only way we can make the bitcoin use vibrant is to implement lightning like speed and transaction fees so that merchants could use it as a transaction coin increasing it's utility.
762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: NEW STYLE OF CAMPAIGN on: July 08, 2020, 08:29:22 AM
Bounty managers have every right to make any rules for their Campaigns, I don't see how this is surprising for you OP because it's not new at all, if you don't like the rules just leave the Campaign and find another one

Correctly said. No one is forcing you to join this bounty. If this doesn't fit you, try a different one.
In my opinion, it's a better strategy to reduce spam and keep the conversation in the forum healthy.
Many people seems to be making posts just to complete their post requirements in a short amount of time.
This restriction would place a cooling period where the users would go through posts and decides what and where would they be involved in discussion increasing healthy conversation.
763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DeFi Craze: Could ETH be seen positive reaction in coming days? on: July 08, 2020, 07:14:55 AM
Defi are of course getting popular but with more defi in action, ethereum network is getting more congested with slower transactions and larger fees. If ethereum is not able to bring someways to drastically ease the congestion, they'll lose a large portion of Defi party. The current situation of Ethereum network is forcing users to move towards EOS and Tron for their Defi. We can see the change in proportion visiting any defi comparing sites.
764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is safer, USDT or Binance USD? on: July 08, 2020, 06:45:47 AM
USDT has accusation of not holding the amount of fiat they are issuing so, it would not the one I suggest. BUSD is also totally depended on Binance but as you have already decided to invest on Binance lending, BUSD is the better option. Just to let you know services like NEXO 10% on savings on many stablecoins and youhodler provides 12% on term depsoit. They also accept other popular stablecoin like paxos and USDC.
765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON 4.0: Boom or Bust? on: July 08, 2020, 05:40:05 AM

Do you think that the newly-anticipated release of the TRON blockchain is full of hype? If not, why? Knowing how many "Ethereum Killers" have emerged over time without any success so far, I think that TRON will just be another "nail in the coffin".

What are your thoughts Huh

Every new platform launching is posed to become an Ethereum killer and Tronis no exception but its way to early to tell if it really is, but Tron is a good project to invest just like EOS they have a lot of DAPPS, I just don't like the CEO's attitude he acts like a spoiled brat and oppressive to other projects just like his team did to OIKOS.

Tron have the largest number of new dapps everyday. More and more tron are being locked on dapp but most of them are from ponzi schemes that are going to bust one day or later. It was same with ethereum but the plus point of tron is the transaction are cheap and fast. And with Tron 4, things would get even faster making the way for tron to rise higher. I know Sun is a sign of stupidity but Tron seems to check the good boxes.
766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Band-aid solution for the bitcoin.org dilemma? on: July 07, 2020, 02:40:48 PM
The topic seems to be : Is Cobra trustable? Are we keeping backups?

Yes, the content on bitcoin.org are on github and is open source, could be forked anytime if the owner goes rough.
IMO Cobra's love for bitcoin is no less than ours. He thinks and talks openly but he is much more stable and capable enough to make the right decision.
There's a talk in bitcointalk. If theymos is to come up with a new website for bitcoin it would be something else.
767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 07, 2020, 11:08:32 AM
Todays match ups,

I backed Chelsea, Watford and (Leicester or Arsenal) to win

Chelsea and Watford are the easy choice, Leicester city and Aresnal would have some competition. Post lockdown period has been favorable for Arsenal as they have secured more wins while It's mostly loose and draw for Leicester city, and Arsenal is playing home. So, I Arsenal would have a better edge to win. Leicester needs to win it to secure the top 4 position on the table.
768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still enjoy the anonymity in gambling in the long run? on: July 07, 2020, 09:51:10 AM
For most of crypto gambling site, they'd never ask for your identity until you have large sum of money going in and out or rouge bitcoin coming in. In that case, with an official complaint from the authorities, they may force you to do a KYC. And again not asking your KYC doesn't mean you are anonymous as they do log your email (if required) and IP.
Small users would never be bothered by it, as authorities won't be hunting you and your coins for small tax frauds.
769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any opinions about USDC? on: July 07, 2020, 09:17:28 AM
USDC is fine since it's from the popular coinbase itself, I'm just more satisfied with USDT, they are both centralized stable coins but they work fine, I have nothing against Centralized stable coins since they aren't volatile, USDT just have the better support judging from it's huge marketcap

Centralized stable coins are a necessary evil, specially for traders. And USDC is a more trustful of those evils. USDT has a lot of irregularities and they are not being to explain their pattern of issuance and paxos doesn't seem to be as serious a company as Circle is. Circle though is largely a Coinbase company, they have a better integration to banking system and they have audited and found to have frozen equal amount of USD as their coin. We can count on them for long term and even if they stopped working, we maybe able to get our dollars.
770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do not participate in non reputed bounty managers campaign on: July 07, 2020, 08:56:37 AM
Bounty manager themselves can't guarantee the success of a bounty campaign but they can make it much secure for the participants. There are now a few bounty managers in the altcoin bounty section who would ask the project to escrow the funds with them and they'll be responsible to distribute the coins after the campaign. It does provide some sense of security to the participants but still don't add up any chances of reducing the scam as a good project would pay anyway while a bad one even if they paid with tokens would be useless.
771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I have an idea about betting on bitcoin on: July 07, 2020, 07:13:32 AM
I have an idea. I will not implement it, I don't know if already it exists, but I would like to post it. Tell me, if it would be dumb.

These days, there are many online casinos with games like poker. I wonder, how would a betting price site would be?

Like betting 0.01BTC on the price of bitcoin. If, I've bet that by tomorrow it will have pass 10,000$ I would get the analogous amount of BTC
If the price wouldn't, I would have simply lost my funds. There is a difference with poker here, tho. Central authorities, cannot control it. So the man that has the site, may bankrupt. On the other hand, I think we can admit that online poker (especially with real money) is never on pure luck of the cards.

It's called binary options. There were many sites in the past that did the same but now are mostly out of business or closed that particular option like fortunejack. Gogo options went scam while many others closed. Bitcoin future are a more advanced form of it provided by exchanges like bitmex. You can try them. Some of the popular traditional binary option site also lets you place a bet on price change of crypto price movements.
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No exchange? No Value! on: July 07, 2020, 06:48:42 AM
Even if that exchange was not gone, you'd still have no value for your coin as batcoin is already an abandoned project. The coin is listed nowhere and there are no any development activities from the team. The team didn't even renewed their domain and has totally abandoned it. Even their block-explorer is abandoned. Most of the mineable coins are dying now and it's worthless to invest in small mineable coins.
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Facebook advertising boycott could be a good thing for crypto startups. on: July 07, 2020, 02:33:42 AM
Facebook certainly is a centralized company that earns selling user data. But the world is getting too critical and too hypocrite at this time. The companies leaving Facebook would get hit one way or other by the similar accusations in the future. I hope this situation would make Facebook realize the importance of decentralization and cryptocurrencies.
774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Compound on: July 07, 2020, 02:17:27 AM
Compoud is a popular DEFI and it's working. It's all on a smart contract and everything's predictable. The DEFI itself doesn't provide any unrealistic returns and makes a profit on cut from lenders and borrowers. The COMP coin of the defi has seen good rally after being listed on the exchange. It's probably due to the success and volume this DEFI manages. I can't guarantee the future of it but I haven't found any thing that could break this DEFI in near term.
775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luckyfish accepting kids on: July 07, 2020, 01:29:02 AM
The site clearly states that in 1.2 of it's end user agreement that it's not for use for users below the legal age in their jurisdiction.
If you want your kid not to use gambling site, you could install a parental control or put web filtering to block gambling sites.
You should also limit the amount of money your child could spend and never provide them your card details.
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Kingcasino is The another scam project in 2020? on: July 06, 2020, 02:27:41 PM
They claimed that they were unable to collect the funds they were intended to hence are not going forward with the project. They vowed to return the investments made in full. I am not and investor and can't verify if any of the investor has got a refund. But it's the bounty participants who are hurt by the news and are proclaiming kingcasino a scam as they'll not be getting any value for their effort.
777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 06, 2020, 12:58:40 PM
I'm really surprised to see that Philippines is going towards this direction. I thought they were crypto friendly nation but turns out their government agencies knows nothing about crypto. I've heard of exchanges like Coins.ph for some years now and the Filipino community are one of the most forward ones in every crypto sector. And there were also news that the central bank of Philippines is regulating crypto exchanges.
778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are these just signs of a very bad month for BTC scaling solutions? on: July 05, 2020, 05:57:02 PM
It's better that these vulnerabilities are being found before these projects going onto full action and the effect they may have is negligible to none. It's the right thing to do to develop alternative solutions and give them time to let us learn which would fit the best with bitcoin and it's essence. Scalability is a problem in bitcoin that needs fixing and everyone seems to have accepted it now.
779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lunar eclipse on: July 05, 2020, 05:52:48 PM
Yeap, it is one of God's greatness. just wondering, what the connection between lunar eclipse and altcoin discussion? Really, i still didn't get it.
My fatwa for you is : Lock this thread or move this thread to off-topic before mod does.

It's the earth coming in between sun and moon. No god's involved.
780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any successful and relatively new casinos? on: July 05, 2020, 03:59:40 PM
Perhaps, with the new casinos entering the market, the competition will be harder since the old casinos already established their crucial characteristic which is their reputation, I am not saying they wouldn't stand a chance, but with the right marketing and good service they could provide, it will still be possible for these new casinos to compete.

In order for casino owners to get used to the new business and compete with those who have been on the market for a long time, you need to invest a lot of money in advertising, in encouraging new users. You can offer something new that other online casinos don't have. So far, I've only seen ways to invest a lot of money in advertising and offer welcome bonuses to new players.

It's really difficult for new casinos to get interest from gamblers as the business is nearly saturated. There are trusted sites that are running with trust for years and covering almost all of the gambling genre. No one would try to risk trying some new sites which offers the same thing as old.
Hence to get some attention, newer casinos should bring something new and unique to get attention of the users.
