761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: November 02, 2023, 02:43:08 PM
If they continue to argue over even minor matters like this, it would become clear that they're just complicating things to make excuses, much like Inoue's previous opponent, Fulton.

I recall this situation. Fulton's camp had many requests before the fight, and Inoue's team managed to fulfill them. However, the result was as expected. Fulton didn't come to fight; he came to survive and attempt to earn points, thinking the judges would favor him since he was the defending champion. But Inoue's relentless attacks finally caught up with Fulton, leading to a knockout and the end of his undefeated record.
Yes, definitely Fulton camp is very confident coming in the fight, but for added insurance, they have to request a lot of things in their favor against Inoue and they all have been honored by the Japanese. However, it doesn't matter to Inoue as he believed more on his talent that have this kind of advantage. And from round 1, we have seen the Fulton  when he felt the power of Inoue was very different.

He doesn't want to fight but just to survived in every round and thinks that he can score in the judges scorecard. But as you have said, he didn't even put a dent on Inoue, maybe he had 1 or 2 good rounds and hit Inoue flush, but Inoue was too good as he has a good chin as well.

Hopefully, Tapales is going to be different and he will fight to try and win.

Comparing Tapales' record to Fulton's, I can see that Fulton has a pretty good record. But look at what Inoue did to him. So, it's hard to expect a big upset, but I appreciate Tapales' confidence in saying he'll be Inoue's nightmare.

I think Tapales needs to take some risks in this fight. He can't fight like Fulton; he needs to be more competitive and find ways to hurt Inoue. Otherwise, he might lose his confidence once Inoue starts controlling the fight.
762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 02, 2023, 02:17:27 PM
Imho a lot of people dont understand boxing and its fight evaluation system. Thanks God we have 3 judges there, not just one. A lot of people dont count the number of landed punches, activity in the ring, if the fighter is more active or passive during the fight and etc. All they see is - if one boxer landed a punch and after that his opponent has blood on the face, then he is winner. If one boxer sends his opponent to a knockdown (and it does not matter, if was a real knockdown or the boxer just slipped), then he is 200% fight winner.

Most of us don't really study how to judge a fight based on the criteria followed by real judges. We often rely more on our feelings about the fight, and because we have a fighter we support, our decision might be biased, which is why we often claim that our fighter won the fight. However, it's essential to remember that judges' decisions are final. They are experts who do this as their profession, so we shouldn't question them unless they have a bad reputation. Since the fight ended closely, it's likely that there was no rigging of the decision. It seems to be a fair decision.

But I'd like to ask, did Ngannou protest? If not, then we shouldn't continue to make it an issue and move on.
763  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: October 30, 2023, 06:08:19 PM
If you let your fear to be your own motivation, then I’m afraid you will lose a lot of opportunities in bitcoin before you will learn to value them. Although everyone has it own motivation to learn, but I think having fear as motivation not to lose, I think you will find it hard to combat it with yourself because losing in crypto in general is already an inevitable part. Everyone will commit mistakes and then lose after, but the good thing is you will also learn from it.

However, whatever your motivation is, as long as it leads you to a positive outcome in the future, then it’s right and valid.
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whether Bitcoin ETFs are approved or not, we expect bullish trend on: October 30, 2023, 03:22:54 PM
Who the heck knows what will cause bitcoin’s price to go up in the end? Too much people are betting on the halving and the ETF. What if bitcoin doesn’t immediately pump after these events? Bet longterm.
People tend to forget that bitcoin price moves mysteriously. Whether there’s a factor that affects bitcoin or not, it’s price will definitely head to into a bullish trend no matter what. Bitcoin’s fate is to grow its price and be bullish, so it will certainly happen in time.

However, I also believe that if this bitcoin ETF will be approved sooner, then we will see a more bullish price earlier. But if not, of course bitcoin will still be bullish but maybe a couple of months after the bitcoin halving.
765  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A more scientific mindset is necessary to avoid scams. on: October 30, 2023, 01:19:58 PM
When you say scientific mind then you are already implying this is an intelligent mind...but does it mean a scientific minded person can not be scammed??? Am Pretty much sure such minds can be scammed too.
As far as am concerned it's actually common sense that will allow a user from being scammed and doesn't require some certain level of IQ to tell from what's a scam and what isn't!!

Besides what happens if the scammer has a scientific mindset...i guess it's chaos and still comes back to common sense to save you from being scammed.
If you are aware about how scams are done and know already the red flags you can see in a scammer, then it’s obvious that even a regular mind can track it. No need to be highly knowledgeable or high leveled IQ so you can easily identify those scams. Scammers are everywhere now so if we once fall into its trap, I don’t think we’ll let ourselves fall again for the same trap.

However, the only way to avoid scams is to learn from other people’s experiences. Be rational and wise. If you can’t do that, you will always be taken advantage by all types of scammers.
766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 30, 2023, 12:55:42 PM

If there are people like you who thinks Fury should not have a rematch because he'll likely lose then the more reason he should do it. People would also think he's running away from Ngannou and I don't see him as the guy that will let his reputation be tarnished like that.

I believe a rematch wouldn't be an issue for these two fighters, considering the highly competitive bout they put on. This is likely to gain the fans' interest even more, and I think both of them will stand to earn a more significant sum compared to their previous fight. It was reported that Fury made $50 million, while Francis earned $10 million, if I recall correctly. So, in a rematch, they might collectively make a total of $100 million or ever more. Nowadays, reputation takes a back seat to the primary goal of boxers, which is money. They've already satisfied the fans, making it easier to market a rematch.

However, I believe we should watch the Fury vs. Usyk fight first. Grin

Whatever you store on your phone will not be safe always most especially if you happen to download apps that require access to your phone. When you see that, always cancel your downloading as it will never safe for you most especially on the files that you have stored in your phone. And cases like seed phrase or passwords to any of your personal account, you don't need to take a screenshot but write it down on your notes and keep it privately like you're the only one who knows it. Its better to keep it safe than feel sorry in the end.

Furthermore, whatever details in your wallet, do not make it compromise through creating an access with any of your social media account. Note that social media is the playground of scammers, so you better stay away from social media using the info in your wallet or you get rid from being involved in social media because it will never give you an edge over your privacy.
768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a “safe haven asset” on: October 29, 2023, 09:17:46 PM
Previously, not only did the world consider bitcoin a highly volatile and high-risk asset, but even those of us who invested in bitcoin considered it a high-risk asset. But I think we should gradually change that concept as well as change the way we call it, bitcoin is no longer a risky asset. Recently AllianceBernstein, an asset manager with $699 billion, called bitcoin a safe haven and even more attractive than gold.

For me, this is the first time I've seen a traditional company admit and call bitcoin a safe haven and consider it superior to gold. What do you think about this and should we stop calling bitcoin a risky investment?
https://blockworks.co/news/alliancebernstein-gold-bitcoin-returns

Bitcoin will always be a risky investment not only because of its volatility, but because the government is still seeing it as a ponzi scheme. I'd rather prefer gold as a safe haven because of its sure appreciating price. But that does not mean that since bitcoin is risky, then it's never capable to provide us maximum profits. Bitcoin is the most expensive investment nowadays, which means you are also bound to get life changing profits once you adopt the right attitude and the perfect strategy to use.

Furthermore, being a safe haven asset does not mean it's free from risk. Of course, all investments have their own risk. And if you are not capable to manage the risk the right way, no matter how we call it safe haven, it will always bring danger to our funds.
769  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2023 end game sentiment check on: October 29, 2023, 08:44:07 PM
We dont have a great deal of time left in 2023 but speed can pick up & BTC tends to run in these last few months.  Even main markets can sometimes spark into something around the December or winter months, maybe its because of holidays that movement is more notable to occur then over the summer where for centuries a noted drift has been fable.   My theory is the shorter days alter peoples habit and mood to trading even while BTC is global its altered by dollar monetary flows.

Any answer you feel like is correct.  Im not asking for a precise prediction just mostly a thumbs up or down, its purely the idea that peoples feeling alter and sometimes market effects are ironic; its worth noting how bullish the crowd is.

7 day poll & you may alter your vote later.  If you can come up with a better poll option I'll add it on just for you  Cool

I can't say that we're moving into bitcoin's new all time high but I am positive that the remaining months of the year will bring higher prices for bitcoin most especially that the last quarter of each year are the best days for bitcoin. Although there might be some price corrections or market crash in the process but I'm quite certain that it will never drop so low like $20k below.

However, all we have at the moment are just pure assumptions. Bitcoin may continue to move up or the other way around. But one thing is certain, if ever bitcoin price makes another significant price drop, then never miss that opportunity to accumulate more bitcoin in preparation for the next year's awaited event, the bitcoin halving.
770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: October 29, 2023, 03:09:02 AM
I have been trying a lot of my bets recently to Tyson Fury winning his boxing match this weekend in order to boost the odds a bit. Hopefully he comes through.

What are the odds you'll get for that fight? Currently, Tyson to win outright is only at 1.05, and 1.18 if he wins by KO. The odds haven't been very attractive, but this bet seems like a lock. Good luck with that. How about Tyson winning by decision? That one is at around 6, isn't it? It could be a significant multiplier for your parlay.

I think if @OgNasty bet on Fury to win by decision, it would make his parlay more interesting. Fury appears to be struggling a bit, but he still has the edge to win by decision. Meanwhile, we only have one game left ongoing, the Utah Jazz vs. Phoenix Suns. I'm a bit confused as to why the Suns were heavy favorites to win despite missing two of their starters. But based on the current performance, it seems the bookies were right, as the Suns are already holding a significant lead.
771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 29, 2023, 02:34:34 AM
Well, it is early into the season and regular games are not that entertaining at this point, so it is not really that shocking to see Harden news becoming this predominant. I think him trying to move teams constantly since his Rockets move is becoming an old news and teams may not want him.

Sixers are probably ok with getting rid of him, hell if Harden agreed to just terminate his contract without anything, Sixers would leave him for free, but Harden wants to be waived, so he wants to both not play for Sixers AND still get paid by Sixers, which they won't do, so they are looking for any trade, picks, young players, other veterans, anyone really to get rid of Harden but at this point nobody wants him at all, he is a locker room trouble.

There are of entertaining games already, haven't you watch any of the games? the Utah Jazz vs Clippers is a very good match to watch, it is very close as if you are watching the playoffs already.

Curry putting on a show against their rival Sacramento Kings.

Luka's 49 point performance against the Nets, and people are saying that he is looking very sharp for a MVP this year.

And then the Raptors vs Bulls, game went into OT, another game with playoff atmosphere, I urge you to watch the highlights of the game and tell me if that is not entertaining.

He probably isn't into the game's storyline, and that's why he concludes it's not entertaining so far. Well, we've got to respect his opinion since we all have different levels of satisfaction. But I'm sure the majority of NBA fans would agree that most of the games we're witnessing now are entertaining to watch. In fact, I believe we have another interesting one coming up ^ the Utah Jazz playing on the road against the Suns. Still no Booker and Beal, but I'm pretty sure this is going to be a display of offense.
772  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you any of pump groups or Channel ? on: October 28, 2023, 09:59:25 PM
Im on with notourious powerpump team yesterday they pumped yfi i made nice profit with them.
Tell me your experince about pump ? My experinces are good to be honest most of money i Made with pump.
I remember when ETC pumped i Made from 10$ to 500$ in few hours i don't Understood why people don't like pumps it's really great i have made real money from pumps.

Today poweroump team will pump LTC let's see how high they send it
I don't usually rely on such channels like that. Although I listened on some of them but I always filter everything that they say through doing my own initial research and found out that most of them are not reliable and are not worthy of our funds. However, while some of us are totally aware about it but here comes newbies who actually put their full trust on these pump groups or channels like everything they say are the realities on the market.

However, we can't also blame the people behind these channels since they are only working to earn a living. No matter how they try to deceived us, but if we know that we are entering an unpredictable market, then its our initiative to avoid them immediately since they can't help us anyway to achieve our individual goals in crypto.
773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have we seen the lowest low of this bear market? on: October 28, 2023, 09:44:19 PM
Since the FTX crash I listened a lot to Gareth Soloway and Nicholas Merten from Datadash. Both expected lower lows. Soloway even expected BTC to get under 10k at some point. With the recent price rise I'm a bit worried that the ship has sailed. In his most recent video he no longer mentioned these lows. He even mentioned a 50k possibility for this year.

What are your thoughts? How big of a price rise do you expect if an ETF gets approved?
And is a scenario of World War III (Israel + USA + NATO vs an alliance of Islamic countries) bullish or bearish?

I know $50k can be achieved with bitcoin but due to its highly volatility, it will be uncertain when will bitcoin hit that price. Even if we say bitcoin etf will soon to be approved by SEC, but I can't give fixed amount as to how high bitcoin will reach that time. Although  a lot of bitcoin analysts are now very optimistic about the future price of bitcoin, but we all know no one holds the future of bitcoin even Satoshi himself, so all these predictions will remain to be predictions until they're proven true. But to be honest, for me I guess $50k for this year is still impossible to achieve, but it will be highly possible right after the bitcoin halving is over.
774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: October 28, 2023, 04:34:00 AM
Did anyone catch the Clippers vs. Jazz game? It felt like a playoff game with an intense battle, and the home team emerged victorious in a very close battle. JC once again played the hero with his clutch 3-point shot, giving the Jazz the lead. The Clippers have messed up the plays in the dying seconds, allowing the Jazz to snatch the win.

For those who bet on +4.5 and the moneyline, congratulations to the winners!
775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 28, 2023, 03:23:13 AM
Lakers should stop trying to force other rotation players some minutes, they try to build a whole squad but that ain't working for them. Their d'lo-reeves-prince-lebron-ad five doesn't work and will not work. They need to switch to d'lo-reeves-lebron-ad-wood five which would be a lot better and it would have size that most other teams do not have. Reeves is already bad at defense, and d'lo isn't work all that hard on defense neither, better than last year if you ask me so far in the last two games but you do not play him for his defensive skills.

I think this means their inside has to be better and even though AD is good at defense, he is all alone inside and having Wood with him would make their paint protection skyrocket. Other teams could either shoot, or they would not be able to get inside, a good shooting night would beat Lakers, but a bad one would lose badly. Lebron is still amazing at year 21, that dude is a beast, definitely king of basketball.
They're missing their best wing defender Vanderbilt yet so I think they're experimenting this time around for a squad, it's just early in the season and it's not that hard if they will work out with it. I guess Wood would be the fit, this guy is efficient he just needed more minutes. Yeah, couldn't agree for more that LeBron is still killing it even at his age and looks like aiming that 40k points in his career.

I think it's just about time for Wood to have a break out career in the Lakers uniform. He had a lot of promise when he was in Houston, however, when he wait to the Dallas Mavericks, it seems that he was not a good fit with the system of Luka.

And in this game, he proved his defense and his rebounding. He has some good assists too. So yeah, needed more minutes so that he will gain his confidence back specially his outside shooting. He needs to improved it just like when he was with the Rockets, he can hit that outside 3's.

It's a bit challenging to expect Wood to return to his prime form, especially when he had the opportunity to do so with the Dallas Mavericks. As of now, it seems like the Lakers are taking a chance on a player who may have forgotten how to play at his peak. His performance has clearly declined, and while he could potentially serve as a backup center for Davis, his play hasn't been very impressive.
776  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Reward for a Trading Mentor on: October 27, 2023, 09:59:56 PM
I have a fair knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I can hold down a good conversation in it however when it comes to trading, I have come to the point where I need to up my game. After using a mock trading app for some time, I stopped and tried the live environment. I lost money. Since then I have done some trading again. I feel I need to get back in the game. Right now I am coming in with a different strategy which is a mentor. Yes, I need a mentor in this renewed trading journey who would teach me the practical aspect of it. Because any of us can easily quote the theoretical knowledge of trading.
What is the best reward for mentorship? How do you think I should reward the mentor when I have one? And how often should this be?

If you guys can give me some ideas, it will help me to take charge of the conversation when I meet with the potential mentor.

Thanks.
Give him the profits he deserved. You won't be that capable you envisioned right now without your mentor that has been guiding you all the way. And if asked if how often this should be, as long as you want to share with him your profits. That's how simple it is. And as a suggestion, find a mentor that is already close to your heart so that you can easily trust him and the doubts if he will only scam you will never happen. There's a lot of good mentors around, but only rare of them can be trusted and can entrust yourself as a trader to be the best that you can be.

For now, look on your circle of friends if there are good and reliable traders. Trading will be a lot easier no matter how risky and stressful it is as long as you are with someone that understands your weakness and helps you with your goal to achieve it in its due time.
777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to invest or trade Bitcoin? on: October 27, 2023, 08:59:58 PM
It all depends on your own preferences. Investing and trading are still different and that trading involves higher risk than investing alone. However, trading profits are bigger and faster than investing itself that's why no matter how hard trading is, a lot of people would still want to die hard learning in trading because its promising profits are life changing. But that does not mean that trading is bound to secure us consistent profits. Even professional traders still lose in trading at some point.

However, both investing and trading are profitable in it's own way. As long as you have the skills and strategies that suit in trading or investing, then you can consider it as another side hustle that will provide you a decent income but only not in a consistent basis.
778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 27, 2023, 02:31:08 PM
There is a something about Hulk Hogan and John Fury looking like long lost brothers, especially now that John Fury has chosen to adopt that very distinctive moustache and beard (which is not identical but has similarities). He is very funny, he wants to be the centre f attraction whenever Tyson or Tommy are on the promotional tours  Grin

The coolest person on the stage was Ngannou, he was simply taking it easy but that does not mean he will win the fight.

Since I don't know who John Fury is, I thought it was Hulk Hogan when I saw the video. There's really some resemblance, LOL. I used to watch Hulk Hogan when I was a kid as he was the king of wrestling at that time...... But John Fury really has some impressive hyping skills, and Mike Tyson also did his part, being so underrated in the question-and-answer portion, according to one commentator of the video. These two are set to show a big fight. Fury looks chill, but we know how much of a beast he is in the ring. Good luck to Ngannou; let's see if he has something up his sleeves to surprise the fans.

We are yet to find out if Ngannou can do something. But it's just not based on his skills. If Fury just keeps playing Ngannou around with jabs, Ngannou may not land a single hit on Fury from a distance.

But if Fury also will pursue a KO win, he will need to go close which could be an opportunity for Ngannou to throw haymakers. Ngannou throwing body punches could still be damaging. The best option is for Fury to keep his distance for a safer win.
Fury might only go for a KO if Ngannou is aggressively attacking, which seems to be the plan given he's coached by Mike Tyson, known for his aggressive boxing style. This fight might play out like the Wilder vs. Fury 2 scenario, but let's hope it won't result in significant damage to Ngannou if he indeed loses by KO.

I read Fury will get $50M and Ngannou $10M. Damn!

Here's the interesting fact, even if Ngannou loses, a $10 million payday is a significant sum for him. However, it would be even better if he managed to surprise the world by upsetting Fury and still getting that $10 million. On the flip side, such an upset could potentially disrupt the highly anticipated bout between Fury and Usyk.

I think this is the article that says about their purse.

Quote
Fury vs Ngannou Purse: How much will the winner of the fight get?
Boxer Derek Chisora revealed on FightHub TV that Tyson Fury will take $50 million for the fight, reports Sporting News.

While 'The Gypsy King' commented that his rival will take more than he has taken in his fights inside the octagon. According to talkSPORT, Ngannou made around $600,000 when he defeated Ciryl Gane to retain the UFC heavyweight title.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Ngannou has a net worth of between $5 million and $7 million, while Fury's stands at $65 million.

I'm not familiar with this individual, but I'm definitely interested in reading more about his story. When we're talking about millions of dollars, it's a clear sign that this man is among the sharks in the world of sports betting. What really stands out to me, based on the link you shared, is...

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/jim-mattress-mack-mcingvale-lost-at-least-7-9-million-on-astros-world-series-bets/
Quote
Jim 'Mattress Mack' McIngvale lost at least $7.9 million after Astros fail to reach 2023 World Series

McIngvale would've won almost $51 million if the Astros had won it all

I'm quite impressed with his bet, especially considering the potential $51 million win if it had been lucky. This guy seems to have a good understanding of what he's doing, and he's likely playing with a calculated risk. Given his age, he probably has some substantial experience in gambling, or he might have faced bankruptcy when he was younger.

Hey sports enthusiasts,

We've got two games coming up tomorrow, and here are the betting spreads:

Sixers @ Bucks: -6.5
Suns @ Lakers: -5.5

As you've probably noticed, the Lakers are now heavy favorites at -5.5. This line was initially set at just -1.5 for the Lakers, but that changed due to the news about Booker, who's doubtful to play due to a foot injury. It doesn't seem to be a severe injury, but he's likely resting for this game. Do you think Durant can lead his team to a victory?
