Forgot to ask, why are you refusing refunds for people that paid in BTC?
762  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 10, 2013, 01:42:18 AM
About the refund policy, it was changed way before the orders were taken.

My definition of "way before" and yours are obviously vastly different

Q. Do you issue refunds?

A. We can refund your order if it has not been shipped. Once your order is shipped, we won’t be able to issue you a refund.

That snapshot is from 6/16/2013 and we started taking orders on 18th. In any case, the policy was changed BEFORE the orders were taken. How much before doesn't really matter.

It doesn't matter what you write or changed on your website, the law that you must abide by is clearly stated.

Are you saying that your company is above the law?
Or are you saying that you are just going to ignore it and deal with the consequences later?

When You Must Cancel an Order

You must cancel an order and provide a prompt refund when:

    the customer exercises any option to cancel before you ship the merchandise;
    the customer does not respond to your first notice of a definite revised shipment date of 30 days or less and you have not shipped the merchandise or received the customer’s consent to a further delay by the definite revised shipment date;
    the customer does not respond to your notice of a definite revised shipment date of more than 30 days (or your notice that you are unable to provide a definite revised shipment date) and you have not shipped the merchandise within 30 days of the original shipment date;
    the customer consents to a definite delay and you have not shipped or obtained the customer’s consent to any additional delay by the shipment time the customer consented to;
    you have not shipped or provided the required delay or renewed option notices on time; or
    you determine that you will never be able to ship the merchandise.

Also, do you know your way around a 1500 watt PSU, I hope you realize that most places do not have that kind of capacity at the wall, only the large type of outlets such as washer/dryer types can handle that kind of capacity.

You might want to contact an electrician about this.

765  Economy / Economics / Re: Winkelvoss ETP could become THE pricing mechanism for BTC on: July 10, 2013, 12:47:25 AM
The value that this ETF adds to bitcoin is the ability for institutional investors to invest, 10's to 100's of billions of dollars of investing capital, that have no barrier to entry to the bitcoin world.
766  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Low Watt Miners [Updated Daily] Value Table Added ROI/Cost on: July 10, 2013, 12:20:49 AM
You might want to consider taking terrahash off this list and onto the possible scam category.
Thanks for the update, if you have some specific info I'd love to have all information available.
Are you referencing how they changed their refund policy, and stopped talking to anyone?  I'll have to wait to see how this turns out, but it is worrisome at the moment.  I hope they keep going in the right direction.  They have seemed to have great potential from the first day.

Value changed to profit.  Percentages of profitability.  May not sound simpler, but check it out, I like it much better.  Smiley

applause! applause!
Was it you that suggested this earlier?

For the most part yes, plus, today they emailed at least 3 people today telling them that they are not honoring refunds at all for btc or paypal.

I concur, I spent $1500.00 just a few months ago and now wish I would have spent that money on BTC to purchase some ASICs or at least FPGA's.

We are in an awkward time, tons of money coming into the ecosystem but we all have to be patient and wait for ASIC's anything else is a waist of time imo.

Seriously do yourself a favor and don't waste your money.

Just got back from the dentist and look what the friendly folks at TerraHash left for me.

How could they invest the money if PayPal froze their account?

Has that been proven?

They said their account was frozen but they have mis-represented other stuff too.
769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Rig/Hi-performace machine on: July 10, 2013, 12:05:45 AM
I would not spend that amount of cash for a GPU rig right now, save your money and either buy BTC directly through something like coinbase or buy into a asic group buy or buy 10 or mh/s equiv of usb miners.

What about alt mining?
Based on the calculator with 1300 kh/s I would make about $1300 a year, LTC mining.
So about 3 years to get an ROI with LTC.

Alt mining may be more profitable

Your not taking into consideration the cost of running that rig (figure at least $100.00 per month in electricity for 6 GPU's) or the increase in difficulty (whatever the crypto currency of choice is) when all of the current GPU rigs/farms move to LTC when ever the hell our ASIC's get to us in the next 2-5 months.

774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we propose Bitcoin to RELIGION? on: July 09, 2013, 11:39:57 PM
I personally think it would be a shame for bitcoin to be associated with religion, no wars have been started over bitcoin, no crusades have been waged over bitcoin, nobody has been murdered in the name of bitcoin, bitcoin doesn't hate fags, bitcoin hasn't fondled little boys, bitcoin hasn't raped little boys, should I go on?

That's a pretty ironic statement, since Bitcoin is money, and every war is about money.

I think your nitpicking
775  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the value of Bitcoin be in one year? on: July 09, 2013, 11:38:38 PM
1 btc will equal 1 btc, however people around the world will be trading their outdated fiat for it for > $500 USD.
776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we propose Bitcoin to RELIGION? on: July 09, 2013, 11:34:45 PM
Why should any religion care bitcoin? Bitcoin is only a new currency, and it won't change anything regarding people's beliefs about the afterlife or what's good and bad. Religions are used to currency changes. The catholic religion is more than 2,000 years, and the U.S. dollar didn't exist by then. Nor did any currency that we know today. My best bet is that religions will outlast bitcoin My best bet is that bitcoin will outlast religion.

I think some of us twitted tweeted the previous Pope about it - the first Pope to use Twitter. This new Pope seems to be even more progressive. So, try it:

778  Economy / Scam Accusations / Possible Phishing Scam via PM hiddenoreo - BTC-E TradeBot / Earn .1 btc a week on: July 09, 2013, 11:02:48 PM
Hi all,
I just got the below via PM, as you can see the site looks exactly like bitcointalk.org (this site) but is a .org.uk tld.

In addition, the PM was probably mass sent to everybody as the "to" was not my account name, hence they sent it to that one person but BCC'd everybody else.

Just saying be careful, lots of scams going around these days.

FYI,
I emailed Bishop Bobby at FSM requesting that bitcoin be the official currency of The Church Of The FSM.
