Lovely and very unique piece of art - as always.

Regarding shipping, do you have an estimate on costs to Europe/EU or how do you plan on handling this?

763  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS]MYBITS 1/2 OZ .999 SILVER COINS on: March 15, 2023, 08:22:03 PM
Looking fantastic. Two questions:
- This is a new 2023 release right? Or are these the same that were sold via MJ earlier?
- What's up with the reserved serials, are they sold or will they be auctioned? How can you reserve a serial prior to your ANN here?

Do these come with COA's?  Will the firstbits be on the holo or anywhere on the coin?-  Just asking as I don't believe ICG will list firstbits on the slab unless it is somewhere on the coin.  Seems like this was a recent change as before they would put the firstbits on the slab but in parenthesis if it wasn't on the coin, doesn't seem they do so any longer.
Previous (?) series had a certificate that included the full address.

Set #99 for me please!
These are a new 2023 release! Your serial is already reserved since you purchased 1oz coins! Everyone who purchased a 1oz gilt has those serials reserved automatically until they tell me they don't want to keep that serial number.  I am giving past buyers the opportunity to keep their old serials if they choose. Sorry if this is confusing to people, but most people want to keep their serial numbers so I am trying to avoid issues by doing this. No auctions KW also there is an insert that comes with the coin where it has all the coin info, and a QR code you can scan and find your addy by serial number. I am at work today so I will responding to questions when I can thank you for your interest in the coins  Cool

Yes, that makes total sense and I think it's a nice way to go about it.

Thanks for another affordable, great quality / great looking crypto collectible - and I clearly prefere solid silver over silver plated.
Happy to see a very reasonable price for a full set here.
764  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com 🔐 Icarus Poker Series | Discussion Thread ♠️♥️♣️♦️ on: March 15, 2023, 08:09:08 PM
Pretty sure they are going to change the 1st tourney as the password posted isn't working. I'm sure icopress and cygan are already aware, but i'll pm ico on discord and inform them of the errors. Still a week so plenty of time to fix it.

I think they are working on that right now because there are two tournaments announced right now, both on the same day but with different hours. They must be doing some tests for sure. And the password doesn't work for any of the tournaments, and I think that's because they don't want the users to register until they have cleared the time and date.

Where did you get the password from?
Will the tournaments be available for Bitcointalk folks only via a special password or is it open to anyone?

And still looking forward to get the actual dates for these!
765  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- ***NEW UPDATES*** on: March 15, 2023, 03:13:43 PM
Ok...I'm not flying tomorrow so I will drive to La Habra PD and file in person.

If anyone has any information you feel would be helpful in the police report, please PM it to me.

Kudos! I am not affected because I don't own any 2fa coins but I think it's great someone goes through the trouble to hold Titan mint accountable.
A redeeming service that's not availble but crucial for your product is inacceptable.

Question regarding the NFT: What kind of NFT is it exactly? Just a COA or an attached image/video/media of some sorts?
Do you have the BTC twin of this serial (for sale)?

769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I managed to convince my senior dad to invest in BTC on: March 07, 2023, 03:32:55 PM
I would never try to convince anybody... I'm a big crypto enthusiast, but i still consider crypto a high risk investment... I wouldn't want to be responsible if they'd lose their funds.

On the other hand, if they'd made up their own mind and just asked me for assistance, i would gladly help them out Smiley

Pretty much on the same page. Still, remember, everyone is ultimately responsible for their own actions. Following your "advice" or even convincing arguments is still THEIR choice.
Generally I think people take too little responsibility for their own shit and love to blame others for their misery. So that already should be enough to shy away from trying to convince anyone. However, if it ever happens, just keep in mind: Their life, their responisbility.

@OP: I think it's great, sounds like a "natural process" so to speak and investing smaller amounts (each month) should be a great way to gain exposure towards crypto.
GL to the both of you.
770  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value till 2033? on: March 07, 2023, 03:25:22 PM
I'll throw out a random guess here.
10 years from now makes it impossible to make accurate estimates (accurate meaning +-50%) because:
- black swan events cannot be predicted  and could even account for things like almost total loss of BTC value or BTC becoming the world's reserve currency
- white swan events, including unexpected mass-adoption, big-corp and government support, mega-innovations that will integrate BTC into everything etc
- (hyper)-inflation, which would increase USD value, but not the real purchasing-power of bitcoin

However, without any of the above happening, I' give it a 85% chance to be (way above) $100k in 2033, valued up to $1,500k (if halving effect and legislation etc all work out perfectly).
771  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: March 07, 2023, 03:11:37 PM
If the bullrun would have continued for another two years, who knows how many billions more they would have embezzled.
Yep. If there is any positive thing about all this mess, its that it happened sooner than later because God knows how many more people would lose their money as FTX kept growing due their aggressive marketing, no withdrawal fees and other tactics to attract as many users as possible.

In other news, FTX confirms for the first time that 8.9 billion dollars of users money is missing so if there's anyone still hoping that they will ever see their money back, think again.

A recent report from the Wall Street Journal pointed out that $8.9 billion worth of customer funds have been unaccounted for and therefore missing.

This is the first time the exchange has revealed a number pertaining to the fund deficiency. The exchange has reportedly pinned down around $2.7 billion in customer assets, relative to $11.6 billion of the balance outstanding on customer accounts. The estimated value of FTX’s assets and liabilities is based on asset prices in November 2022, when the firm filed for bankruptcy.

Alameda Research had borrowed around $9.3 billion from customer accounts before bankruptcy. Thus, the current $8.9 billion hole can be attributed to Alameda Research. FTX did not clarify if the funds were borrowed with or without customer consent. According to a financial update filed, FTX’s sister company only had around $475 million in cash in its accounts as of Jan. 31.

Thus, at this stage, it cannot be anticipated how much compensation affected customers would receive, even though the exchange has tracked down $2.7 billion. However, around $1.5 billion of that said amount includes illiquid crypto assets like FTX’s token, FTT

There might be other types scams that might have occured. They might also sometimes be done on their own services similar to this hedgefund.

It is speculated that the founder of Multicoin capital has been selling his own cryptocoins and tokens to the hedgefund before the bubble pop of the bull market.

Multicoin Capital’s hedge fund lost 91.4% in 2022, according to a copy of the firm’s annual investor letter viewed by CoinDesk.

Source https://www.coindesk.com/business/2023/03/04/multicoin-capitals-hedge-fund-lost-914-last-year-investor-letter-reveals/

That Multicoin Capital’s hedge fund news goes to show one of the scariest aspects of "crypto-space": The interdependence of many non-decentralized coins / tokens and platforms. If one fails, it will create a snowball effect that's hard to stop.
I think truely decentralized coins (there's just a handful, if at all), most and foremost Bitcoin, are less vulnurable towards these influences, however still take a hit when a big ship things, such as FTX.
Especially stablecoins - if they were to fail in a similar way as FTX - could bring down even Bitcoin by quite a bit for several months, up to a few years, worst case scenario.

Jan 12 8:00 txid:

Looks like Hookzup has uncovered another batch of Yogg’d halving sets.  Looks like our degenerate gambler coldscammer waited a month & found another hard drive with PK’s!

Maybe he pays his bills this month with another round of rug pulls… cocksucker!

What the fuck!!? This asshole is still at it! For those who have not peeled and swept their cards, do it now before he finds another drive to sweep.
So much for only having one and by mistake he came across it....Who knows what else he held on to?

And also make sure to sweep your timelocked bonds when the smart contract date arrives! If not sure if they are still loaded or not feel free to reach out and read this as well.

[INFO] TO ALL OWNERS OF COLDKEY CRYPTO BONDS...PLEASE READ.

Unreal. This goes to show his true colours imho. If he was remorseful at all, and if it was truely a drunk-gambly-whatever-onetimefkup he would have burned any remaining paper/hardwarewallets he still had that night.
Really sick.
Just wish anyone affected to be able to move on, especially on the emotional losses / damage. I kind of did so by now, took me a while and affected me a lot at first. Learned a lesson or two on the way.
Now trying to look forward and not waste anymore energy on that yogg-up.
Just my personal 5mBits.

This is awesome. Will share the news and hope many more join in doing the same.
Bisq is not perfect, but a fantastic project with constant development and a very well working DEX software.

I want to encourage anyone reading this to try it. You can buy / sell small amounts and often get a 1 - 3% plus on the current market value for smaller amounts.
779  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: March 03, 2023, 12:16:00 AM
I guess this indictment will be the least of worries to SBF since some of his buddy politicians he "donated" to are currently in power
They have already been asked to give back the money (if not willfully then by court order) and they might wanna distance themselves from him so I am not so sure how much protection he's gonna get.

What does unlawful unlawful political contributions and defraud the federal election commission imply? Are they trying to imply that Sam was bribing some politicians?
You can find detailed explanation here (pages 34-36), but from what I could understand, among others things he gave more money than allowed in one year and then tried to conceal it.

Wow, just wow. Just read up a little on the recent development of the case. Hadn't done so for a few months now.
The shitpile he / they produced with FTX is still getting bigger. It's not really suprising, but still insane to see what was going on for years behind the scenes. If the bullrun would have continued for another two years, who knows how many billions more they would have embezzled.
