761  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info AND Blockexplorer.com down? on: June 04, 2014, 08:30:14 AM
so the dump in price to pre apple news is because of this lol?
glad I don't daytrade and hold for longterm

quite possibly blockchain were re-adding app integration before resubmitting or something a and price will re-rocket

I see times like this the trolls come out and even post more china fud threads lmao

think this may be just the tonic to 'take the summer off' and check the price on a random date
like end september  Cool

yep, both sites blockchain and blockexplorer working dandy for me  Cheesy

now please someone please go and explain to the trolls in btce trollbox, they think the sky is falling
762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What city has the highest amount of bitcoin users? on: June 03, 2014, 07:40:44 PM
You could watch BTC flow into countries in real time here: http://fiatleak.com/

looking at this map - almost looks like a bitcoin war is going on between usa and china.

i understand china sees bitcoin as way of attacking the dollar.

This site is stupid. I have no idea what this site is showing. When I compare okcoin on bitcoinwisdom and on this site (neary every transaction is showed as a transaction on OKCoin), I can't even see a similar pattern. And trades on Bitstamp are not shown at all.

The impact of China to Bitcoin is smaller then most people think. I think the major cities are:
1. London
2. Berlin
3. US- cities

Hm but using for what? Buying things? In actual stores or via the internet? Or trading it? Or just buying it as a longterm investment?

not London
I am a Londoner and unlike what Max Keiser says, most of London dont have bitcoins and don't know a thing about them.
Max in his bubble in soho

It would definitely be  certain states within U.S

763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Approves Bitcoin Wallets on: June 02, 2014, 10:32:29 PM
Can anybody with an Iphone actually confirm that any previously banned Bitcoin apps are now working?

they'll have to be resubmitted
not sure how long that takes to get approved
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Approves Bitcoin Wallets on: June 02, 2014, 08:52:19 PM
Biggest company in the World. I guess it's reasonably significant  Grin
765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Approves Bitcoin Wallets on: June 02, 2014, 08:42:18 PM
I know a lot of people hesitant about bitcoin because of Apple.

Yeah, bitcoin will march on regardless of what they say or do, but it's the difference between marching through mud vs on pavement.

Big news.

totally agree

this ain't a 5% rise people
this deserves a big rise and ongoing

so much good news coming, including plethora of atms arriving all over world

hoping winklevii ipo is a big success when that eventually happens
etc
766  Economy / Speculation / Re: This forum is full of future millionaires on: May 31, 2014, 09:37:24 PM
The only reason 10BTC would be worth $1,000,000 is because of hyperinflation, in which case I wouldn't sell my coins and would be using them for directly buying stuff instead.

Agreed. We need to get away from this thinking of "BTC= x USD" because it just promotes the whole get-rich-quick ideology. What we really need to say is, in the future bitcoin will be a viable currency by itself, and those that got into it early will be able to afford to buy themselves homes, cars, etc. It won't need to be converted, or compared to USD or any other FIAT because it will stand on its own.

THIS

also as already stated the us dollar is worth shit now
same as pound etc
one bag of shopping in supermarket here in UK is about £25, and no luxuries like booze, fags etc
£120 to fill tank of petrol in car, £9.50 for packet of cigarettes (20)

btc should be way higher now in $ terms as it's so worthless
hopefully 100 bitcoins would last couple decades of good living

we just need sites like bitpremier.com to sell cheap european real estate, nice fincas etc instead of just top end property and midrange stuff

it will come
767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time is Running Out for Mark Williams Prediction of a $10 Bitcoin on: May 31, 2014, 09:36:35 AM
The only chance of Bitcoin dropping to $10 is if an early investor tosses 2-4 million coins on the market all at once.

I'm not sure that many early investor coins exist.

1 million are Satoshi's.
1.5 million are lost from the first miners.

I know that the top members of the Bitcoin rich would be just over a million coins (excluding Satoshi.)

So if Satoshi and all the Bitcoin rich were to dump, that would be 2 million coins, this would also be a grand redistribution of wealth and I would imagine the price would recover fast and rise to a all time high too.

We can only dream for such a dump, but it'll never ever happen. Ever.

I think a dump of 100,000 bitcoin on bitstamp would bring the price to $10. However whoever did that would be throwing away 80% of their wealth for no reason, the price would again recover very quickly.

totally agree
good synopsis

769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mazacoin Behind the scene truths no ones considering on: May 21, 2014, 08:54:15 PM
The problems with the coin have been well documented in the coin's ann thread here. Basically, every wrong move possible, and the dev team has made it.

People begged for a dev presence in this forum, yet the dev team denied it. They kept repeating they don't have time to deal with fud... okay. So ignore it, and just post info like normal devs do, provide info, interact with the community, etc.

AP has been pretty much a disaster. The coin's website he made looks like it was made by someone who has vision problems. A logo of a pirate is not exactly what you want stamped on your main page, especially when said pirate is sitting on a giant premine. The entire site looks incredibly unprofessional.

And then he has gone on to other coins, reusing the same maza template for Maplecoin, rumored to have made GreeceCoin, and probably many others. It's not just an issue of a dev's time being spread too thin, but the fact he has been trying to 'cash in' on the nation coin fad, hence people believing Maza is exactly the same thing. A quick way to make a buck by the devs.

Coin forking to reduce rewards, more dev interaction, allowing the community to help, has been mentioned many, many times previously, when the coin was still worth something. And every time, AP has denied allowing people here to help. Boxxa quit over it (to the best of my knowledge). I seem to recall the mazatalk people offering to help with a website and a new logo was also created, but both were denied.

So it's not trolls that are the coin's problem. Is has been the incredible mismanagement of the coin to date. Sure, trolls don't help, but in the end, it wouldn't have mattered. So many missteps and the coin would have sunk regardless.

Don't take this as trolling or fud.... take it as constructive criticism. If you want to save the coin, you'll need to change how you have been doing things. And ignore this forum at your own peril.

thats a very fair post and agree with all of that
I have been watching wondering whether to buy never being able to decide as one thing after another

tbh have seen videos of Payu and tbh he gets 'out there' personally more than anyone else from other small coins so credit for that and I also think he is an intelligent guy, well spoken

problem with this site is you never know who's who and who's trolling

for me you would need to(Payu) take a phot of yourself on webcam now with timestamp and bitcointalkforum written on piece of paper to wholy convince me was you

if it was you i would go straight to cryptsy and buy a few hundred thou mazas and the IDEA i love
770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinotron can possibly do 51% attack on Litecoin on: May 21, 2014, 06:19:02 PM
this is not healthy and not good whatever way you spin it
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins are worth investing in? on: May 21, 2014, 06:14:14 PM
sexcoin is a sleeper
so is Franko

both with great dev and communities

megacoin, peercoin, namecoin - I like all of them too

all great coins, with great (amazing) devs and communities
772  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gold Bar Manufacturer to Start Accepting Bitcoin | BetaBeat | #gold on: May 21, 2014, 06:11:19 PM
sounds great

gotta link?

as the one other service I saw that did this being triumphed on coindesk, after enquiring actually keep your gold in a vault

err, no thanks, just as bad as a bank
no bit of paper to say you own a small gold bar

I want to hold that puppy in my hand and bury the bitch lol

do they hand over the gold in the store? as that is the ONLY way I would do it, again 'if' I had enough btc
which sadly I don't, not even enough to buy a silver bar!
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HKCEX adds WDC as pair in credit card purchasing. on: May 21, 2014, 08:19:55 AM
so another scam?  Huh

personally didn't touch this site or wdc so not a problem
sorry if anyone else has

just stick to btce, bitstamp, cryptsy is best advice imo, big 3
774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [MZC][MAZACOIN] Why Mazacoin is Getting Ready to Rebound Strong on: May 21, 2014, 08:15:22 AM

Thoughts? Comments?

where are the devs or payu?
why aren't they starting threads or providing info here?

it's okay to post less on bitcointalk once a coin gets traction and acceptance as everyone gets sick of the bitcointalk trollfest after a while  Wink , but in the early stages, like mazacoin is, accurate info needs to be made ehere

there is nothing on their twitter in relation to coin reduction etc, and payu harris twitter doesnt even mention mazacoin

I am interested in buying some but want some reassurances before buying a few

775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: May 21, 2014, 08:09:46 AM

776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy down? on: May 21, 2014, 01:01:56 AM
Clear your browser cache.

yeah I did that and was up for a time

but you got 503's and 500's again

run along and check
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy down? on: May 21, 2014, 12:02:27 AM
nothing on cryptsy twitter feed which I always find unforgiveable
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy down? on: May 21, 2014, 12:01:39 AM
is it down again?

yes, for about an hour here in UK
this is after their maintenance downtime earlier too, I guess it is connected

I hope they up their game in coming weeks and months when I anticiapte traffic and trading will increase exponentially when bitcoin price spikes, which imo is inevitable
779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh China...Getting Tense on: May 20, 2014, 01:30:41 PM
We'll get our $100K USD Bitcoin but unfortunately a sandwich at Subway will cost $300.   Cheesy

haha
yeah, that's my thoughts dude
780  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Lately on: May 19, 2014, 05:02:16 PM
price being kept down for sure
there has been a TON of good news to counter the gox/china thing in past few months
price has not been reflected

for now and for some considerable time price is at mercy of whales, just a fact sadly
that will only change when a huge amount of people try to get back in, like what happened with china

I really do see $100k bitcoin one day, I have that much faith
but 99% of us would have sold everything a longtime before then lol
